Quick Update From D.C.

Dinner last night with some of the group. We had about 30 at the Capitol today. From left are Katy, Janet, Doug (of the famous backpack), Bill, me, Larry and Mary.

Many have worried about our safety, so I give this quick update. I will give a fuller report on the day tomorrow. 

From 5:30 this morning until about 12:30, everything was calm, peaceful and downright cheery. The only thing that troubled me was that I kept seeing people wearing MAGA gear who were scowling – and thought to myself that these are not MAGA people. Sure enough, a lot of reports this afternoon were that Antifa had opened a new page in their book and embedded themselves among the crowd under cover.

I was at the Washington Monument on the Ellipse for most of the morning. By 11:30, it became clear that Mike Pence and most Republicans were going to confirm the steal. Some people in the crowd started shouting that we should storm the Capitol. No one seemed much enthused early on. Having walked about four miles, I was hurting and decided to get back to Annapolis. Just after I left was when the chaos broke out. Yet some of our people who were there said that most of the crowd was still cheery, if agitated. It was good I got out when I did, because some of our people were trapped in D.C. after the Mayor, Muriel Bowser, announced her curfew. I ended up driving back to help evacuate. Maybe eight or 10 of our group are staying put in D.C. hotels. Most of the rest are coming out for an after-dinner tonight to go through what they saw and heard.

Everyone is safe as of this writing, and all who needed to be evacuated have made it out of D.C.

I’ll share more tomorrow.

  1. Thanks so much for this update, Charlie. Of course, you’ve all been on our minds as well as in our hearts and prayers. I was initially disappointed with the storming of the capitol, yet, I DO see the frustration of a people who have been oppressed for too long and the need to send a message that this is resistance time, a time as expressed in the pieces by Dov Fisher and Kurt Schlichter which you posted yesterday.

    Sleep with the angels, CORAC Friends in DC. And may we all awaken ready to rise – with the help of the angels- to embrace the long, hard work ahead of us.

    1. This is from a Parishioner from her son: The plane ride from Dallas was full of supporters. The crowds have been friendly and nothing but love. He went to hear the President he was so far back he had to watch on the big screen and because it was so cold he had to walk so he went to Congress. There he was able to get front row on some scaffolding and had a great view. Tear gas started being shot into crowd and folks started to leave. The tear gas drifted up to him and stung his eyes and intense burn for about 90 secs. As everyone started leaving the area, he decided to stick around and wait till the panic of the crowd calmed down. He was there, with a Birdseye view of the doors that were “breached”. Hmmmmmmm. Tear gas into a crowd to limit a public view so the media could twist the narrative….well, nothing to see here folks!
      Plus there was a selfie he took showing BOTH doors that we supposedly breached. There was a person letting weird guys in. NOT Partiots!

Charlie your Angel spoke to you about these events that are unfolding, although you thought Obama was the president that would not transition peacefully and leave office in disgrace and although we Catholics believed this was the case. as you stated Charlie in Portland OR in 2016, that after the message of my Angel communicated to me comes to fruition, and the event has passed and I (you Charlie) look back it always happens the way My Angel said it would, not how I thought it would happen. terrestrial understanding versus Celestial

Because events unfolded in a manner different than how they interpreted the Lord’s words, they fled in fear from the Garden at His Passion Time.

  4. Charlie, I recall mentioning to you on the phone a couple of days ago that I would not be surprised to see ANTIFA show up today, even halfway expected it. If they showed up disguised as something else – what would not have surprised me at all.

      2. The American Republic [not democracy] is a virtual corpse. We have just entered the phase of the violent majority in a Democracy. When Benjamin Franklin came out of the Constitutional Convention, a lady asked him, “What have you given us, Sir?” Franklin responded, “A Republic madam, if you can keep it.’

        Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Adams, and the other founders of the USA, they all knew and publicly proclaimed that a Democracy is quite likely the worst of all forms of government. Why? Because in a Democracy, you have pure majority rule. Why? Because in a Democracy, a majority of the people can legally do anything they want to the minority.

        In a Republic, there are minority rights guaranteed.
        That is why the majority of the colonies refused to sign onto the Constitution of the USA UNLESS their individual rights were spelled out in writing. That demand was fulfilled by the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

        What the Uber Left has been doing for a century now is working at breaking down people’s understanding of those GOD-GIVEN rights. Anyone with one eye and ear open has seen and heard the Uber Left shutting down freedom of speech by violence for the last eight years. They have shot the Bill of Rights full of holes.
        The result, we are now for all practical purposes a squalid Democracy, not a Republic at all.

We even have a name: the silent majority. Via CORAC, we have opportunity to repair and become “silent no more.”

            2. It’s always been my understand that they are all about the same thing, ESPECIALLY with regard to being anti Christian, and especially anti Catholic.
              If not “exactly” the same thing, at least a stepping-stone, directly leading to communism?
              and/or making up a new name to make it not sound like classic “COMMUNISM”

      1. Not me, Linda. I stayed in the desert to muster and drill my scruffy regiment. The inference was solely based on the malt vinegar bottle on the table and a splotch of tartar sauce on Doug’s back pack. That, and I suddenly had a hankerin’ for some decent fish n’ chips.

  10. Thanks be to God everyone is safe! You have all been in my prayers. Between what is happening in our country and my son in law being in the hospital with COVID and may be moving to the ICU to be put on a ventilator, I am feeling emotionally strained. On Christmas Day our pastor told us that God didn’t come into the world to take us out of our trials, but to walk with us through them. Amen! Alleluia! Emmanuel- GOD IS WITH US!

    1. p.s. Lin Wood was right about Pence. Twitter will not allow President Trump tweets to be replied to, retweeted, etc. the shut down is on. Many in the house calling for Impeachment. So many what I thought to be faithful leaders jumping ship. May God make this a short chastisement. But His Will be done.

    I also seen the emergency footage on infowars about the shooting and Trump asking people to go home before anymore lives are lost.

    I guess the left won’t go peacefully accepting defeat and they’ve drawn first blood yet again. It would seem the choice is either go down fighting or surrender & take the covid death vaccine, and China readying it’s military for war. If there’s any more options out there, I’m not seeing it, the Globalists have openly declared war on the people…

      1. Thanks Katy very much. I am telling my patients they are immune once they got the disease. I’m also telling them they cannot spread it if they are asymptomatic. I’m also telling them masks don’t work and are very bad for their health. I’m dispelling worry and fears. What I say may very well contradict what other providers are saying, but that is up to me. Slowly I’m educating Tay colleagues, pointing out contradictions, saying “hmmm, more questions, few answers.” This week I was at four different clinics in NW South Dakota. And I made an impression on several providers.

        As for testing, what a messed up bunch of nonsense. One 17 yo patient tested positive thru the state-run PCR test on Monday (so the parent claims) when at a clinic in a distant town. He comes to my clinic on Wednesday and tests negative for the in-house antigen test and negative for the same state-run PCR test. Same patient, two days apart, active infection: one positive, one negative. Useless for diagnosis. And this testing-everyone-who-wants-it is simply adding to the fear and confusion. This is like a bad dream to me.

        1. Thanks for this, Kim. If people would calm down and think of a.n.y. virus… we always have antibodies after recovering and the viruses are always mutating. Isn’t it amazing how even medical doctors and nurses second guess with covid19? Oh the propaganda machine.

    1. “DarkTimes USA” when Charlie said “America would be at war with China” I envisioned somrthing closer to a conventional war with more traditional warfare with clearly defined parameters, not the current media-war to distort reality, perception, and concepts of truth, right, & wrong.

Seems the cowards (selfish crooks/traitors) in Washington, giving themselves over to the corruption and the corrupted in order to avoid “rioting in the streets” have traded the “perishing of our nation” by their ascertanation and design for a wholesale moral freefall. They just traded one disaster for another.
    Reminds me of another time some people in charge made a bad decision to “save the country” but were actually only interested in preserving their own positions and power.

President Trump asked the protesters to leave the protest at peace, said “don’t play to the hands of these people” in the address that was removed by twitter… relentless fighter till the end even after Pence turned his back against him as well… And Biden in his address talking about honor and honesty… sickening… Nevertheless, the protesters did not occupy the building for months, they simply left within few hours… Also it was so weird that unarmed people were able to get inside the Capitol so easily… Will the shot lady be burried in a gold casket? What if a BLM unarmed protester was shot like that? I think President Trump should attend the funeral of this patriot. RIP young lady. I pray God will accept this innocent blood to hasten the coming of His victory in this nation…

Feeling like someone is telling true is not the same as actually doing background checks and searching primary sources to do so.         I thank you for this post and link back to what Charlie posted for us.

        I do find that I become almost “insane” when I read or hear about child trafficking and abortion. I haven’t been able to discern truth from lies during those times. But I will continue to pray for the discernment.

I, too, attempt to vet but I have several friends who read and research expansively… Charlie is one of them. He spends as much as 24 hours prep in this fashion when he prepares to write. When someone who is that steeped in research, I listen to that one.

  26. Greetings, long time reader of CJ and former classmate of Fr. Rick Heilman. Last night was rough! I’m convinced that I will probably never vote democrat (barring drastic platform change) but I can honestly say that I’m confused by the Republican party and by the (lack of) integrity of many conservative blogs and websites as well.

    I’d like to think that it was all antifa in drag last night in the Capitol building but seriously not looking like it. If that’s the case, disgrace!!

I was initially disappointed myself, then, as the reports continued to come in throughout the evening and, especially, after speaking with a good friend, I began to widen my lens. We just spent four years… well, please read this link Charlie shared in his last major piece wherein Rabbi Dov Fischer lists some of the injustice which has rolled out through the years and, especially, in the last four years. In addition to Antifa and additional rabblerousers and lawbreakers on the left who showed up to stir riots and cause other mayhem, there were some eyewitness reports shared that claimed the Capitol doors were opened for those who were storming the building. How much of this is accurate remains to be confirmed but we do know that MSM has become a propaganda machine of the Left.

      What really made me take pause, were my friend’s words because we’ve had cold anger brewing for a long while as our institutions – one after the other – have failed us, including the judicial system which has *not* exerted justice by holding the left to account when crimes were committed. SO many example of this have been named since the inception of this blog. With such as this, isn’t it really a matter of time before an oppressed people begin revolting? The words of the Rabbi were beginning to be fulfilled yesterday: “They really thought all conservatives and Republicans would just roll over and play dead again. That we would join in coronating Joe Biden. That we would return to being a well-behaved, obedient loyal opposition. Not this time, dear Leftists.” Was yesterday’s storming of the Capitol Building like the shot heard round the world?

  28. Well it looks like the Anti-God left are now as imbedded in the US as they are here in Canada, in government and in media.
    Here in Quebec the government is starting a curfew from 8PM to 5AM that is supposed to last for a month (until 8 Feb). We are staring month 4 of a lockdown non-essential business that was supposed to last one month (it was supposed to be for the month of October). We were limited to 25 people in religious gatherings, now they are not allowed period (no more masses) until Feb.8, 2021. In Gatineau you probably saw the viral video of the police intervening in a Christmas gathering of 6 people (fines of $1500 issued). With the curfew, the fines will now go as high as $6000.
    The Epiphany has truly been a revelation of what is coming and that there will be no fence from which to sit and watch.
    God never writes coincidences though. January 6th was also the birthday of Joan of Arc.

Biden will be installed for a short time until he resigns/the commission Pelosit has already set up declares him incapable of performing the duties and Harris takes over (Obama puppet) and begins persecuting anyone who resembles a white right wing Christian. The persecuted Christians begin fighting back and are crushed by the state. They go underground and will flee to the rural areas that our Blessed Mother has led people to prepare. So the good news is, as Charlie has so often said, we can and must Trust God as He has a plan 🙂

  31. I try every day to pray in the morning, and I use an app that randomly generates one sentence or a short passage from the entire Bible. As I was praying this morning and meditating over the current situation, the following sentence from the entire Bible ( Old and New Testament) was drawn or actually I think given: ” God will be with you and will restore you to the land of your ancestors “, it is from Genesis 48,21….
    Also, in recent weeks I drawn the same message few times which said to remain calm despite adversities coming.
    I did not share it before, but last July and August, I was praying over a health related petition for my son, serious genetic problem was indicated by one of the specialists, and over not even 2 months I was given J 16,24 (“Ask, and you shall receive; that your joy may be full.”) and astonished when fourth time received this message I prayed again on the same day and got Lk 11,9-13 (“And I say to you: Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you.”).

    Stay steadfast and praying. God is with us.

  32. Sent this out this morning to friends and family:

    So very sad for our country. For freedom. For God fearing people. The Constitution was Divinely Inspired and now it will be shredded.

    You know this didn’t happen overnight. Our freedoms were being striped since the 60’s and “many” who knew better did nothing. I was oblivious and part of the “world” until 2008, when I thankfully had my eyes opened and converted fully back to God and His Church.

    I and many prayed that our Lord would give America a reprieve, especially when so many came forth to claim “One Nation Under God”. But the evil of communism had taken hold and America’s “soul” had been sold for greed and power.

    Now, only through prayer, supplications and repentance will people be saved.
    The purification is on. Everyone must choose God or nothing. The consequences of choosing a godless society will be ugly and many who fell for the “lie” will be in utter despair.

    I will continue to Acknowledge God, take the next right step and be a sign of Hope to others. For the world is not our “final” home. Eternal Life with Our Triune God is. I hope to receive that “pearl at great price”.

  33. I wasn’t there but based on what I’ve seen, it’s clear that those who stormed the capitol were (for the most part) allowed in, perhaps even invited. I worked in Security for some of the time I was in the military, and have taken some anti-terrorism classes. I generally believe that the government is incompetent, but one thing they are very competent at is protecting themselves and assessing/responding to security threats. Not perfect, but very good. Federal law enforcement has a strict system of determining a threat level based on target importance and vulnerability. Once they assess the threat, they devise a security plan accordingly. This was obviously a very controversial vote with planned protests, so would warrant the highest level of security (which didn’t happen, clearly).

    One element of the assessment is to identify known threats (persons of interest). What was a red flag to me was when I learned that the people who invaded the Capitol who were most prominently featured on camera are known neo-nazis and radical right-wing agitators. These people would be in every Federal law enforcement database in DC, and if security was serious about keeping them away, they would not have gotten near the Capitol. They probably would have been arrested earlier on a pretense and released today. Instead, the red carpet was rolled out and they had what appeared to be almost a photo shoot all over the Capitol.

    Notice that Congress was safely evacuated, the agitators were allowed in for photos and then escorted out. Congress then returned, suitably “alarmed” and no longer as enthusiastic about voting against the electoral college results. They were never in any actual danger. A real palace coup in countries who know about such things results in lawmakers hanging from the rafters.

    In my estimation, this was a stage managed event. It was probably planned by someone associated with the Congress, or a sympathizer in the DOD. My guess is that it’s a pretense to further restrict civil liberties, justify some future martial law, crack down on “dangerous Trump supporters”, excuse massive security increases for Congress who know that in the near future’s economic unraveling they will really need it…or maybe a combination of all these.

    It will of course backfire eventually. The video of cartoonish Vikings occupying the capitol is also circulating globally, no doubt emboldening the barbarians at the gate. Our short-sighted and foolish Congress, secure in their newfound power, believe themselves invincible but will be brought down in disgrace instead. Hopefully they won’t bring down the country with them, but we need to be prepared for that possibility as well.

    3. I also believe that there was more going on at the Capitol than we could see and, as you say, a staged and managed event. I read though Trump’s speech to the crowd and I do not think that he incited violence (Did I miss something?) …..The concern for an honest election (which was even more important than a Trump win) evaporated very quickly and Trump was blamed for everything, which has become the norm. Of course, this was the end game.

  36. Amen! God is a good Father who is beyond time and even at His fullest work at Earthly time He usually does it masterfully quietly. Like when Jesus was born in Bethlehem, only shepherds by God’s grace were aware. But the nation was clueless. Let’s do our part but never despair, God is always with His children, for good and bad. He is indeed faithful. Thy Kingdom come!

    1. Absolutely, San San. The second question IS the precise one to ponder. God BOTH works in patterns AND is always doing something new. One pattern He has employed is to allow the enemies of His children to rough them up a bit, actually allowing them to experience the consequences of their choosing against Him. Suffering drops the greatest and the least to their knees in times such as this.

Hello everyone! 🙂 This is my very first time posting a comment on here. 🙂 I wanted to ask if anyone else who attended Mass today (either online or in person) caught part of the responsorial psalm? I believe it was something like: “From fraud and violence he will redeem us.” If that’s not a direct message from God, I don’t know what is! 🙂 I’m praying A LOT in these days for everyone, and about everything! 🙂 I believe that God has told me in prayer to focus on one day at a time, and especially to focus on my daily work in my current job. Much of my work is often tedious, monotonous, etc., so it gives me a chance to “offer it up” as they say. 🙂 Also, I sometimes suffer from anxiety, so that’s been up lately, as you can imagine, but God tells me to cling to him, and keep bringing all my fears, and anxieties to him, so I’ll continue to strive to do that. 🙂 God Bless all, and praying much for everyone here! 🙂

      1. Thank you Beckita! 🙂 One thing I’m trying to do more of (especially lately) is to not read the news/media that much anymore. Not that I’m trying to be naive, but I find that “suddenly” I have more time to pray! 🙂 I’m also very blessed to be able to attend Mass every day before I go to work, so that also helps a lot! 🙂 As far as what Charlie and others have talked about on here, (as far as the storm goes), I really don’t know what’s going to happen with everything, except I fully agree with what Charlie said when he said “In the end, God wins.” God wants me to pray and be faithful to my daily duties (home and work), and pray much, so I’ll keep striving to be faithful to him in these things. 🙂 Someone I know asked me what would I do if/when I lose my job (because of economic collapse, etc.) and I was like, I can’t focus on that, except to say that if that happens, I know that God will help me to take my “next right step.” 🙂 Jesus himself says “Don’t worry about tomorrow.” So, I won’t! 🙂

    1. Very disturbing. There was no imminent threat that would justify deadly force. Condemnation and demands for accountability for police use of lethal force can’t be conditioned on whether or not we approve of the person who is killed.

    3. At 23 sec of this video, one of the police officers that was by the victim aimed his gun not at the protesters but at the police/FBI inside so they would not fire any more shots… There was clearly no threat

  46. Charlie, love your posts!! I always go to them! Lately my life has been consumed with grandchildren and then on the other side, siblings of mine that are liberals. Arrgghh. Been tough but keeping my head up. My oldest daughter sent this link to me today. What a good time in my daily life to receive it. I was so of heavy heart yesterday and this morning after the Breach etc,. and then this morning as I was babysitting one of my g chillun this popped into my messages ftom my eldest daughter. I listened and babysat at the same time. Meanwhile my heavy heart became lighter after listening/watching. I have to share as it did alot of good for me. However, Beckita, I don’t know if you’ll give it your approval. I can only hope so, as God does work in mysterious ways.

    1. I know so many with the heavy heart which you describe, Mary. It’s a sobering time when an election has been stolen and institutions have failed so that an honest effort to investigate and seek truth is denied again and again and again. I cannot clear the video for a couple of reasons. One is its length of more than an hour, although I did watch/listen for the initial 5 minutes which leads me to the other reason for not putting it up. Mario Murillo declared that none of those who stormed the Capitol Building was a Trump supporter. From others who were eyewitnesses at the event, we know Trump supporters were certainly among those who entered the building. The woman who was killed was a Trump supporter. Don’t get me wrong, Antifa’s presence was surely there and up to no good. However, we know that an oppressed people whose voice has been taken from them do engage in acts which get the attention of the tyrants in power. We really are at war in this country… and we have been for some time which makes Mr. Murillo’s declaration that “We are not going to let this happen” when he speaks to freedoms being taken away, inaccurate. Already, there are too many instances where our freedoms have been crimped or taken away. Crimes are committed all around us with criminals not held to account. Look at the burning, looting, destruction of major cities last summer that suddenly stopped when it was declared that Biden won the election. That was a major rejection of our freedom.

      Sorry, Mary, these speakers may soothe some, but it’s setting up false hope on some false premises. Oh yes, God has a Plan and He IS the Victor, but things are not going to magically get better because of this. He wants us to partner with Him to stand for Truth, His laws and the values that emerge from them. We must stay in the moment and work from the truth of what is happening all around us. May out TRUST in God grow exponentially so that we never forget He’s with us even in the toughest of times.

  48. Sorry for misspelling but the politcial happenings sure does make my blood run fast! I can’t type fast enough. I am just wondering if anyone else feels like we have the wool pulled over our eyes, well, that may be a silly question otherwise none of us would be here. Thanks to all who run the show here, it is truly a safe normal haven for me. This site is even drawing in my non practicing Lutheran husband into the fold.       2. Katey, I’m reading today about a number of alternate media sites. I’ve never used anything but email and texting, but am ready to try a site that does not censor! Just read about “Dissenter”, a new browser being developed or maybe it’s ready now. I was disgusted that Firefox chimed in with their garbage about “cleansing” as well. I’ve been using FF instead of Chrome. We need a safe place!! Please, Lord, protect us all and our families! What happened to my country?
