Quick Update From D.C.

Dinner last night with some of the group. We had about 30 at the Capitol today. From left are Katy, Janet, Doug (of the famous backpack), Bill, me, Larry and Mary.

By Charlie Johnston

Many have worried about our safety, so I give this quick update. I will give a fuller report on the day tomorrow.

From 5:30 this morning until about 12:30, everything was calm, peaceful and downright cheery. The only thing that troubled me was that I kept seeing people wearing MAGA gear who were scowling – and thought to myself that these are not MAGA people. Sure enough, a lot of reports this afternoon were that Antifa had opened a new page in their book and embedded themselves among the crowd under cover.

I was at the Washington Monument on the Ellipse for most of the morning. By 11:30, it became clear that Mike Pence and most Republicans were going to confirm the steal. Some people in the crowd started shouting that we should storm the Capitol. No one seemed much enthused early on. Having walked about four miles, I was hurting and decided to get back to Annapolis. Just after I left was when the chaos broke out. Yet some of our people who were there said that most of the crowd was still cheery, if agitated. It was good I got out when I did, because some of our people were trapped in D.C. after the Mayor, Muriel Bowser, announced her curfew. I ended up driving back to help evacuate. Maybe eight or 10 of our group are staying put in D.C. hotels. Most of the rest are coming out for an after-dinner tonight to go through what they saw and heard.

Everyone is safe as of this writing, and all who needed to be evacuated have made it out of D.C.

I’ll share more tomorrow.

  1. This is very interesting… according to the past messages of Medjugorje, our Lady explains what the Triumph is: basically from reading the highlighted part in each message, the Triumph is basically the gospel!!! Is it really that simple??? 🤔 and yet… the gospel is not so easy at all!!! Hahahahaha

    1. Wow, this is shocking!
Is it my imagination, or are at least 2 of these officers saying, “I disagree with this”–indicating that they are following “orders” that they know to be erroneous. These officers, who are being asked to violate their ethics/consciences, need our prayers!!

    2. Of course it was a set up….If not ‘Antifa’ itself these people were ‘Antifa like’ people, or…..professional rioters. Just put 2 and 2 together….why would they want to ‘disrupt’ the objections scheduled by our legislators if they were all Trump supporters? Yes, they did resume at 8:00pm but from what I am reading, they didn’t get many of the remaining objections in. Of course, the was all orchestrated.

      1. Can we be sure this was orchestrated? I have no doubt Antifa and folks of this ilk were interspersed in the crowd as provocateurs. However, this week, a friend brought to mind for me the Boston Tea Party. Now, there was a political protest that involved stealing goods and wasting them in the sea. Why? The American colonists were furious with the British for imposing “taxation without representation.” The colonists were sending a strong message to the British. There are many who are furious with the steal of this election – I’m one – and that tyrannical leaders will impose themselves into office while none of the courts which were approached with cases to be heard would even hear the evidence. When people are oppressed, revolution rises.

      2. StandTall, exactly my thought, that it only disrupted the examination of fraud that was scheduled. It never took place at all after the “riot” and chaos.

  2. I could google it, but I donm not trust googlr, so asking here?

How do we know when to stand, sit, kneel and upift our hands during Mass?

I always request a pew in the back so I can follow along. However, I was once in the front and I really, really, really do not want to do the wrong thing and perhaps lead ther rookies astray!

    1. Tim,
In the missel it is (was) written at the beginning of each mass part if you are to sit, stand or kneel. But you can just watch the crowd too.

      1. Perfect!

        Thank you!

I wil make crib notes from it for Mass this Sunday. I will pay attention to the vetsiobmns of the creeds, etc our priest uses so I can memorize them.

        Blessings to you

    2. Timothy, I have looked in several worship guides but can’t find any of the newer ones that have instructions for the congregation–just those in red for the priest. I did find one with stand, kneel, etc. instructions but it is an old missal that I have from the 50’s. Some one else may know of a guide that does have them.
Anyway…I have this video that does show the congregation throughout most of the Mass. You can get an idea of where they stand and kneel and assume, of course, that they are sitting for the readings and homily except for the gospel, which is always heard standing. Long video but you can skip to the various parts of the Mass to see what the congregation is doing in each.

Please don’t be put off by the Latin. It is beautiful.
The second link is to the worship guide for this mass. (I hope it goes through)
      I really hope this helps.

  3. Thanks for sharing that, and it makes sense. Are we living the Gospel? Have we lived the Gospel since The Word was left with us 2000 years ago? Nope. The devil is running amok and Diabolical Disorientation is currently rampant, so Our Blessed Mother will be the one to crush him so we can finally live the Gospel. I really really hope and pray that I am alive to see The Triumph, but if not I’m at least very very happy to see The Triumph underway and be a small part of it, as that means my kids and theirs will see it come to fruition (it is a process as Charlie has so wisely discerned).

  4. So “the purge” has begun from Big Tech, the speed at which they are doing it is breathtaking and means the game is fully afoot. Be careful what you say openly on social media and in mixed company. Even amongst family members. I have no fear of them and none of us should, but the longer we can stay under the radar and active (not banned) the more people we can touch and hopefully move their heart with God’s Truth and Love before the final crash 🙂

Hawley and Cruz nazis….really trying to unify us right? Get off Twitter, FB et al……..I agree, keep a low profile… we may need CORAC to meet and go over some survival plans

        1. We just need to keep in mind that as illustrious as the Lt General’s career has been, he is also a believer in the “Q” stuff. Not a bad thing; but not something that’s been proven to be true either. Too, notice how McInerney introduces many of his statements with, “I believe…” and I respect him for that as he leaves room for possibly being wrong in his assessment.

There is so much more that we don’t know than what we do know. Praying for new measures of wisdom and discernment to descend upon all here. Charlie was spot on with counseling us all to be deliberate, engage in careful consideration before communicating and acting.

          1. “I believe…”

I posted this video precisely because he stated this. I thought this video is an uplifting sign of hope and acknowledge it could also be a diversion. We are all bombarded with deception and as this ASOH website continually displays our focus and trust should be placed in Jesus.

Pointedly, on this Feast of our Lord’s Baptism. What a great gift God provides. Jesus’ prayer of John 17: 1-26 is an awesome contemplation

            Catholic Study Bible

            John 17:20-22

20 “I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word,

21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,

    2. I see why they want Trump impeached. There may be enough bipartisan support now in the Senate to find him guilty. This will prevent him from running again in 4 years which is what I belive the end goal here is.

      1. From Janet E Smith about an hour ago: “Newsmax just announced that Amazon will no longer host Parler and that means it will be shut down. I don’t know when or for how long.” A commenter added: “Parler will be shutdown @ 11:59 PM 1/10/2021. Parler’s CEO said in the last hour that it will take them a full week to migrate.”

And this from the Federalist today: https://thefederalist.com/2021/01/09/twitter-is-the-enemy-of-the-american-people/?fbclid
“”As a private company, Twitter is free to do as it pleases. And I am free to call them what they are: a shill for communist China that seeks the destruction of America.
Do you doubt that? Then explain why Iran can call for Jews to be killed on Twitter’s platform and China can spread propaganda about how rounding up Uyghur men and forced sterilization of Uyghur women is actually good, but Donald Trump can’t tweet. It is evil. And anyone defending Jack Dorsey’s death machine is complicit. We live in two Americas right now. In Republican-led Florida and Texas, economies are open, people go to restaurants and movies, small businesses can prosper. In Democrat-led New York and California, lockdowns are crushing the people. They are not allowed to gather in person, only on big tech platforms. Guess which outcome Twitter prefers?”

          @ John

Sunday (tomorrow) at midnight Amazon will be shutting off all of our servers in an attempt to completely remove free speech off the internet. There is the possibility Parler will be unavailable on the internet for up to a week as we rebuild from scratch. We prepared for events like this by never relying on amazons proprietary infrastructure and building bare metal products.

We will try our best to move to a new provider right now as we have many competing for our business, however Amazon, Google and Apple purposefully did this as a coordinated effort knowing our options would be limited and knowing this would inflict the most damage right as President Trump was banned from the tech companies.

This was a coordinated attack by the tech giants to kill competition in the market place. We were too successful too fast. You can expect the war on competition and free speech to continue, but don’t count us out.

  5. During this mornings prayers, the Holy Spirit directed me to my ‘faith’ bookmarks to look for something I would know when I saw it.

It was a message from Our Lady of Good Hope regarding these times.
The message for me was comforting ; it was specifically a meaning of “marytr”

If you type it in here http://dict.org/bin/Dict

I am nit the type who looks forward to suffering and death, and our Lord gets an earful from me anytime either is a near possibility!

Yet, as the following definition from 1913 Webster makes clear, we who give up station , rfuse to “take the ticket” are marytrs

    2. Hence, one who sacrifices his life, his station, or what
is of great value to him, for the sake of principle, or to
    sustain a cause.
    [1913 Webster]

Then if thou fall’st, O Cromwell,
    Thou fall’st a blessed martyr ! –Shak.
    [1913 Webster]

That basically describes my teenge and young man years as I was searching for truth, badlyand errantly, but doggedly.

That was a great, great comfort to me.

I figured many here would ve comforted and strengthened in the hard choices between God and evil immediately before them. A martyr unto death is a special kind of martyr, but a martyr unto lesser trials is too a martyr, and we have great comfort from our Lord as we lose station, ease reputation etc in fIdelity to Him

    Grace and peace

Also, I hope I got the above correct.

Also, the reading I was directed to us here:

I don’t have cable but I pray that TC remains on the air as a sane voice. Of course the same article above from Fox has the quotes about the lovely people who want to do away with Fox itself! What disgusting, evil people. I have to keep telling the Lord that I’m sorry for calling them names!

    1. Linda, a “herald” is simply a messenger bearing news or a person seen as a sign that something is about to happen. Isn’t that exciting? Here we are, in the thick of the Storm which will be filled with challenges and trials galore. Just as we are a sign of hope and Christ’s Light to others, so too, we are the signs that Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart will triumph completely.

    1. Charlie is g.r.e.a.t., Lenox! We had a CORAC leaders’ meeting on Thursday and everyone checked in with their experiences, observations and feelings after Tuesday’s events. The nature of the battle – about which Charlie has written and said he was waiting to assess as events unfolded – is now before us with more clarity. Still, we must act carefully, be deliberate and unceasingly acknowledge God and take the next right step so He can make of us a sign of hope to others.

Remember, please, that Charlie wrote here in the update that he was hurting by the time he left the heart of DC to return to his lodging place. My encouragement to him has been to affirm him in resting. Each of us has a mission and a post we must man which God directs us to. I will note that Charlie’s post, since the inception of his public writing, has always involved suffering, be it his neurological condition or the many viruses which have come his way. This ordinary person, assigned a unique role by God, must tend to his ordinary body when it needs rest. And so it is with each of us, sufferings of all kinds visit us and we must tend to healing and/or regaining equilibrium as needed.

I know he said he would write something on the 7th, but here’s what I’ve come to understand: when Charlie doesn’t write as he intends, he either needs to rest due to illness OR he’s uber busy with the tasks and duties in which he must engage. Especially when he’s on the road like this, just about any surprise can cause a delay with the intended release of a new piece.

      Passion of Christ strengthen Charlie.

      1. Dear Beckita, thanks for the update on Charlie. It is as I expected, so thanks for the confirmation.
Also, thanks for the explanation on parler – I tried & tried to sign up and eventually got in by trying “sign in parler.” I got myself in and signed up…and now, cannot get back. No links work.
I do not understand someone’s recommendation of “gab?” Is that a new person collection site with free speech? Although, now, I simply come here. Here is a good place to be.

Has anyone explored the stories on Giuliani? Did he lie in his recommendations to our president? Did he lie to us all? Michael Voris assures his readers that there is documentation, witnesses, but if this is so, why has none of it been released to the public?

Also ~ on a similar but slightly different subject ~ I looked up “Kent State massacre.” Now there is rioting in action. Those of you too young to know or recall should check it out on Wikipedia. There were thousands of rioters on every college campus all across the nation. Makes our little gatherings in Portland look ridiculous….really, grown men acting like kids. Heaven help us.

Continuing daily prayers for all here! I so appreciate all the prayers shared here.
God bless all our endeavors for Faith, family and freedom, katey in Oregon🙏🏽✝️💙⛪️

      1. Thanks so much for this feedback, Brian. I should have listened to more than a few minutes of this video because I erred in clearing it and I apologize to everyone in the ASOH community.

The claims made by this man are outrageous, so I have deleted the video. The speaker, Simon Parkes, said that there are satellites run by the Italian government or military which were really leased or given to the Vatican. According to Parkes, “They’re not spy satellites but encryption communication satellites and, for all intensive purposes, they come under the secret military of the Italian government and the Vatican was behind all the main players of election fraud.” Really? I stopped at the 4:56 time marker because these claims alone are just plain ridiculous. For all that is problematic in the Vatican, I’d like to see a primary source showing clear evidence that “the Vatican was behind all the main players of election fraud.” I’m convinced such evidence doesn’t exist because this is i.m.p.o.s.s.i.b.l.e.

Then I decided to vet the speaker and anyone who posts a shorter than 30 minute video here needs to do this step which I failed to do initially. Look at this:

Simon Parkes is a life long experiencer of aliens, shadow people, elementals and ufo’s, these include Mantid (Mantis) beings, Draconis Reptilian, Feline, small and tall Grey creatures, Crystalline beings and other creatures that can’t be identified. Simon was an elected Politician and served a full term of office.

Simon’s biological mother worked for the British Security Service, often called MI5 between 1965 – 1979. However while she was managed by British Intelligence she was in fact working “jointly” for the National Security Agency (NSA) of America. Her job was to type out documents that related to crashed ufo craft that had come down all over the Earth’s surface and had then been retrieved by American special forces/recovery teams.

Simon’s Grandfather, who was a British diplomat, worked for the foreign arm of British intelligence often called MI6. But again in his case he was closely associated with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of America. During this time he was awarded the Order of the British empire (OBE) medal as well as the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) medal, however he turned down a Knighthood from the Queen. Simon’s Grandfather was also a prominent Freemason and was Britain’s appointed diplomat to the United Nations in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.

Simon went public with his story in 2010, and since then has toured the UK speaking at conferences, initially attacked by the establishment media in a concerted effort to discredit him. However an event in 2013 was to be a game changer, when Simon was invited by the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) to join a small party being given a tour of a secret space radar base in the UK. This totally confounded the established media and has led to a far more serious appraisal of Simon’s story by them.

Simon has assisted a growing number of people who have come forward from Illuminati families/bloodlines – where they have suffered torture and trauma, many from MILAB situations. Simon is able to re-integrate any alternate personalities that the individual may have, remove any Jinn/demonic possession and “de-activate” any suicide programmes placed in the person.

On a lighter note Simon also does Soul readings, where in most cases is able to identify the individuals soul/star family background. A reasonable fee is charged for these services – Simon is offering a nearly unique service and places the highest value on client confidentiality – having helped people from many countries and from widely differing backgrounds, from college students to employees of the Rothschild’s. Simon understands the critical nature of his de-programming/healing/soul reading work and the support that his clients need.

If you would like to help me to continue the work that I do, then please donate via PayPal. All donations are greatly appreciated and considered as donations.

Please, San San, why should we be giving a hearing about our country’s situation right now to someone who opines from the experience of doing soul reading and can identify someone’s soul/star family background? And that’s his lighter side. He has had many more experiences with aliens, shadow people, elementals and ufo’s that include Mantid (Mantis) beings, Draconis Reptilian, Feline, small and tall Grey creatures, Crystalline beings and other creatures that can’t be identified.

Another aspect of vetting must be to seek out corroborating reports and evidence by reputable authors or experts in the field of discussion, particularly, when incredulity is evoked by a speaker’s/author’s claim. If it seems too fantastic to be true, it’s most likely false. So, let’s support each other in vetting shared links. Like Charlie, it is much speedier for me to vet text than to view videos.

        1. One thing I’m noticing (and this is a BIG part of the reason why I’ve stopped reading almost all media, etc.) is that just as we are all aware of the bias in the mainstream media, there is much bias in alternative forms of media as well. Take what just happened in D.C. I’ve glanced at several different media sites, and each one tells their story a little bit differently than the last. You could easily feel pulled in several different directions as to what you should do next, etc. It’s easy to fall into the trap of speculation (what if???). In my experience, you start thinking of the most frightening/scary/terrifying possibilities that could happen, and you lose focus on God. 😦 I believe that satan is involved in this, as he wants everyone of good will to feel helpless and terrified about what is happening (and what might or will happen), and give in to despair. That’s why I appreciate this site so much, and the message of Trust God, take the next right step (as it applies to you), and be a sign of hope to those around you. 🙂 I will continue to strive to do this each day. 🙂 We may each suffer, and even suffer a lot, but God and Mama Mary are with us, love us beyond our comprehension, and will help us through all this, no matter what happens. 🙂 We must strive to convey this to other people of good will as well. 🙂

I am wondering if these are setups to see if we forward these to others. The left wants to prove Trump supporters are like robots believing all the “LIES” from evil Trump inciting us to riot. Thanks to this website, I am being very cautious and prayerful when reading all the stuff being thrown out there. Mother Mary pray for us.

        3. I very rarely (almost never) click on a link provided, as I find it a distraction from dialoging with the ‘fam’ here. As with my own family, I’m interested in what this family thinks and has to say, not what some third party has to say.

Oddly breaking stride, I actually clicked on SanSan’s link for a mo’ and found it nearly impossible to listen to a word he was saying, because I was distracted by the details of his space, including the little crystal pyramid collection. Maybe it’s just me, but I was in an out of there in less than 30 seconds. That, before having a chance to read the other feedback here.

Some time in the very near future (and indeed even now) we may well find ourselves in smaller groups, cut off from all the clutter and media noise, and the only vital thing will be authentic community. Up close and personal.

          Something to think about.

    2. Does anyone know anything about this Simon Parkes that would support his claim? His bio on his website cites that he has family ties to the Freemasons, and sees UFO’s, spirits and aliens. How would a Youtube blogger get access to top secret government intelligence? I have heard these anti-Catholic Vatican conspiracies before, but never with any tangible evidence. We really need to be careful that we are listening to well-vetted information sources. There are rabbit holes and land mines everywhere and we need to keep focused on the mission to trust God, be a sign of hope, and take the next right step without getting sidetracked. Love to all

  9. Thank you to everyone who “damned the torpedoes” and went to Washington. You are very brave. Like most of you I see this in an ever escalating battle. While I agreed with some of Trump’s policies, I am not convinced he is the leader that can bring us back to a country that is committed to faith, family and freedom. Even though Trump touts the fact that 75 million people voted for him, I wager that most of them did so not out of love for Trump, but fear of the other side. We need a new leader who can move the middle – the centerists democrats, independents and some republicans who don’t want socialism or any of it’s ugly sisters. But they do want, I believe, what we all want – the right to live our own lives in peace without the government breathing down our necks. Right now the far left has captured the moment and the narrative. I pray for a new leader to come forward that has the Humility, courage, integrity and vision to reframe the narrative. A Ronald Reagan for our times. I am not sad about Biden/Harris taking office, although I still can’t bring myself to listen to him. Just as Trump was the right person to kick over the hornets nest we call the deep state, Biden is going to be dancing around in the middle of the storm flailing his arms like a loon. I am hoping conservatives find a way to emerge as the voice of reason. Trump isn’t the one to do this, IMO, I just hope that the holy spirit sends the right leader for our times.

    1. A good number of people I respect share your perspective on Donald Trump.

I disagree with your perspective on the election. To my mind, America (and Christendom) is in the nera end game of an attempted coup by the same demonic piwers that overthrew Russia a century ago. We are in a hot war right now, with the battles just seeping into the general populace.

I also believe that Donald Trump (and Melania, through prayer ) are now outside nirmal pilitical bounds and will be leading the counter revolution .

Anothet way I look at it is Christians expelling a malignant enemy from our institutions and aligning them back with the Lord.

But, I accept I am not in control and there are things I do not and cannot see, which is where trust / faith is all of ur calls.

      1. I was listening to the podcast of Patrick Madrid’s Jan 8 broadcast this morning. Hours one and two had a lot of discussion about this. I tend to agree with Patricks assessment that being a provocateur never persuades people, it only polarizes. That is why I am not keen on Trump continuing but it is in God’s hands and whatever direction he guides us, I will follow.

    1. I did see it previously, AL. We must remember that the source printing the visions and interpretations is Signs and Wonders Magazine which is run by lay people who are simply giving their opinions on interpretation. Further, with one click on the link given, I see listed on the page of Signs and Wonders an alleged seer whose messages and visions have been officially discerned and declared by her Bishop to be false. “Mystic Post” is a beautiful title, but remember, articles there are included by lay folk who, again, are asserting their personal opinions concerning alleged mystical events.

I understand reading websites like these sometimes often requires a “few grains of salt” sometimes even a pinch of salt when evaluating their claims. I noticed the articles on spiritdaily.com have been becoming more questionable lately.

    1. This came up on Fr. Rick Heilman’s FB page this morning, Jas. It was refuted by two people who live in Rome. They actually sent videos and photos to prove that the massive blackout didn’t occur. Well done on coming to ask for verification rather than presenting this as a fact. We’re simply in a time of great fluidity, turmoil and potential danger. Praying as we carry on…

          1. Thanks, Beckita. I have not seen that yet. I am catching up on goings on. This year my 2021 resolution is to take to new fasts and disciplines in manageable spaces of time, such as for the moment, this day, and this week. So far so good. I must say that I am a bit overwhelmed by the pace and the plethora of opinions/points of views with what is unfolding! People are passionate about what they are learning and can subconsciously get tunnel vision. It is a process. I stepped out of the fray to start this 2021 year with deliberate discernment.

Also, to comment on the SM non-sense, I’ve been with GAB since it’s onset and loved this short piece by the CEO, Andrew, linked below. He has been steadfast in breaking the Silicon Valley mold. I have witnessed him and his family/platform being attacked and succeed (thus far) in spite of it all. I pray for those holding fast to righteousness to stay on the path and for those who have strayed to return. That includes myself on any given day! 😉

Here is what I’ve been posting on my SM platform accounts to guide those who are now weary and disillusioned by big tech and such:

I welcome all people of Good Will to @GetonGab 😇 for free speech Social Media advocacy, no strings ~

and join us at CORAC.co 🐿️ TO DO works of mercy in community with fellow people of Good Will, nation-wide ~

Sadly so many people have expressed that they would be lost without their followers online. May we come together, face-to-face, hand-in-hand, heart-to-heart more so in 2021. Could that be the lesson here?! ❤

            1. So true, Jen, about the frantic pace and plethora of opinions, points of view and, I would say, alleged facts given on what’s really happening. To be expected, I think.

I noticed this release from Gab today that also makes sense:
We are getting resumes from senior level employees at Big Tech companies.

Hearing that many people are putting in their two weeks too. Internal civil war among staff and executives.

              Panic in Silicon Valley.

              The house of cards falls.

              The exodus has begun.“

The part that captures my attention when evil is at work is to see their nasty networks implode with in-fighting.

I cancelled our cable tv subscription, since the news and commercials are all-brain-washing -programming-all-the-time.

When I returned the cable box the power drunk little napoleon worker at the storefront yelled at me as I walked in the door to “Step on the circle, NOW!”

I refused. I stood where I was and replied: “I’m farther away from y’all here!” She was so over-the-top angry, shaking her head. She said: “I can’t have you blocking the door!” I turned around, looked at the parking lot with a few cars but no humans in sight and replied: “No worries, there’s no run on the Spectrum store!” This made her even madder. I thought I really cooked myself and would end up with the angered little napoleon. Luckily the other clerk, who looked like he could care less, was the attendant who helped me.

Help is a relative word here. I handed him the equipment, he checks it in on their computer system. The phone rep told me to be certain I got a receipt for the returned equipment. I told the man in front of me this and asked him for a receipt. “Oh, no, we don’t give receipts. The phone reps don’t understand what it is we do here! We are only set up to hand out equipment. We do take stuff back—but not really. I can give you a hand written receipt, but it has no value. It’s only an agreement between you and me.”

Cue in Twilight Zone music, LOL. One of the two counter helpers at the local Spectrum store doesn’t have the ability to accurately hand out AND take back equipment. Taking back equipment apparently requires a more advanced skill set. Maybe a college degree?

I took my handwritten receipt telling him it was “perfect”

Yep, that’s my sarcasm nob dialed at stun, but luckily my words and tone were polite. I realized this young man has deeply drunk the Kool Aid, so any attempts to question the lunacy would be futile. Aaaargh. +Marathana!+

I received a video of a man saying Trump would be invoking martial law in the next few days and that all the bad actors and their evil deeds would be exposed and I thought maybe that would be awesome. At the same time I couldn’t imagine how the good ol’ boy saying all this would have been entrusted with this kind of info from those in power and in the know.

      1. I always appreciate you staying the course. “Careful consideration” takes discipline which bears the fruit of healthy thinking. The Bible says a good many things about “knowledge,” though I have to say I’m partial to this gem:

For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. – Ecclesiastes 1:18

Question I frequently ask myself: What does God really want me to know?

I mention that because I think It’s not a matter of what we know or think we know. What’s vitally important is how we think. No need to look any further than The Gospel where we can see how Jesus brought about that healthy transformation in His followers to the benefit of their souls. Yes, He was long suffering, patiently answering questions of all sorts, indulgent even… but He could never be accused of enabling bad habits in thinking. Really what God wants us to know is Him.

Such a tumult of ‘knowledge’ today –– most of it useless, if not destructive in nature –– and so many groping to discern what’s true. We were warned! So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. – Rev 12:15.

Question I frequently ask myself: Am I answering God’s call when I speak, or am I simply adding to the tumultuous spew?

        What is the truth?

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. – Matt 11:28

Question I frequently ask myself: How can I lead others to Jesus if I don’t go to Him and trust in Him?

        1. Thanks for your kindness, MP. Most of all, thanks for this reflection. I LOVE the questions. I especially love the embedded invitation to rest in Him. This world is swirling at its greatest height and too many are suffering from silence deprivation. I attended a contemplation conference a month ago and was exposed to the best model yet. The apostolate which presented it has been integrating healthy human development with spiritual growth and wow! Sitting in the silence and connecting with the Lord brings fear and anxiety waaaaay down. The science is showing that the silence with the Lord works on the autonomic nervous system, calming the limbic system (center from where emotions rise) and cortisol is reduced which tamps down the rise in stress chemicals which, then, allows a greater disposition in your body for the good chemicals to come up. All this activates the frontal lobe, the most creative part of our brains. it also reduces fatigue.

          1. Beckita, pre-med! Ha, I love that. It is true. Another little 2021 resolution I made was to take three deep breaths between actions/task. Even while in prayer at times, I miss being reverent as my mind and body begin to go on to the next *thing to do*. When I remember to practice this new self-imposed discipline, there is a notable benefit to my physical, emotional and spiritual strengths. On the flip side, if we take a series of short quick breaths, we can set ourselves into a (caffeine-free) sympathetic neurological response of fight-or-flight. 😉

          2. Beckita, that contemplation conference sounds great! Can you tell me what apostolate offers this model? I guess sitting in silence and connecting with the Lord is something I can do on my own, but I am intrigued by the science of it also. Thank you! God bless you and all here. 🙂

            1. Audiemarie, you have two options. Here’s a link to the online course which is presented in videos without a facilitator.

Now, if you’re interested in participating with a facilitator, it’s a wee more costly. The benefit of this experience is that people in the group sometimes form a prayer group, once the course content is completed, and that prayer group is focused on whatever the course content was. It becomes a camaraderie of people who support each other in the journey. With this link, just scroll down a bit to find the Contemplate Prayer offering with a facilitator who happens to be Fr. Darragh and he’s great.

        3. I believe the Ecclesiastes 1:18 passage is talking about self knowledge.
The saints always thought themselves the most wretched of sinners since the closer they came to Truth (and the self knowledge by its light) the more they saw how far they were from it! This revelation instills sorrow as it brings to light the many hammer blows we made nailing Our Lord to the cross, our wretchedness and our utter dependency on Our Lord for salvation.

          1. Yes, and the self knowledge of our sinfulness leads us to the realization that we can’t act consistently good with the little (but more than sufficient) that we do know. Just ask St. Thomas Aquila’s who was brilliant, yet eventually came to the conclusion that he didn’t know squat. (my paraphrasing)

He had 19 yrs on the job and responded to a 9/11 Robbery call, was shot and died. His rookie trainie (still in the police academy) shot and killed the perp. Nothing like graduating with a Combat cross on your chest.

For me, this video is a heartwarming reminder of who we are.

    Go to Settings….>

    Contents & Privacy Restrictions…..>
    ITunes & App Store Purchases……>
    Deleting Apps……>

Easy enough. Worth a try. But if they want to destroy Parler bad enough they will probably just

  13. I was there, up the on the perch just below the highest one. I’m not ashamed. In my view, you will be tread upon or you will not. I won’t. We’ve been abused for far too long in violation of the constitution. It was a bunch of wild ones who liberated this country and it will take that same courage to win her back. We gave the country a message that the power of the ruling class is only there because we let them have it. All the same, like Charlie said, if we move without God, even if we reclaim the nation, it will fall all over again. I’m hearing word that the insurrection act has been signed. Not sure if it’s true. I’m also hearing things about the Vatican….

    1. So true that the constitution has been violated, again and again, Faith. It’s a time of all kinds of rumors… rumors with kernels of truth in them, rumors which have been distorted through widespread repetition and rumors intended to disseminate disinformation and create confusion. Only time will tell what God allows or directly sends to help and awaken us as He continually calls us back. SO grateful that we can live the New Beginning in our heads and hearts with the Lord and those with whom we choose to associate as we continue to do our part in drawing closer to Him. Even now, the little we can do before us has great value as our heavenly friend St. Therese conveyed in her theology which earned her the title, Doctor of the Church.

        1. My hubbie likes football and cracked up at this.

Raiders are his <B team. He was there at Foxboro, Schaefer Stadium, silently cheering for them when NE won the game that started their domination. It reminded us of that Grammar Rock production Interjections: "Hurray, I'm for the other team!" …and the whole stadium turns on him.

Of that game, my husband says it's like the election, they cheated the Raiders out of victory. Brady's incomplete pass was a fumble which should have ended the game. The maintenance clearing the snow, should have only cleared the lines every 10 yards but right before Vinatieri kicked the winning f.g. one of the maintenance persons doing line-clearing cleared an area for Vinatieri to make this winning kick. It's illegal and wasn't shown on t.v. (surprise, surprise!) Hubby says that's what you get for home field advantage.

The protestors who initially breached the capitol would have to have left the Trump speech before he even started speaking. Has any Trump supporter ever stood out in the cold for hours waiting for him to speak and then left BEFORE he even started?

    1. Thanks for this link, Joe.

More than a few are remembering the Reichstag Fire Decree as they consider what actually happened at the Capitol last week which could well have been orchestrated with a copycat goal of the Reichstag Decree, the launch in establishing the Nazi dictatorship. The decree sounded so “good”: “The day after the German parliament (Reichstag) building burned down due to arson, President Hindenburg issues the Decree for the Protection of People and the Reich.”

But, in reality, “Though the origins of the fire are still unclear, in a propaganda maneuver, the coalition government (made up of Nazis and the Nationalists) blamed the Communists. They exploited the Reichstag fire to secure President Hindenburg’s approval for an emergency decree, popularly known as the Reichstag Fire Decree, that suspended individual rights and due process of law. The Reichstag Fire Decree permitted the regime to arrest and incarcerate political opponents without specific charge, dissolve political organizations, and to suppress publications. It also gave the central government the authority to overrule state and local laws and overthrow state and local governments. The decree was a key step in the establishment of the Nazi dictatorship. Germany became a police state in which citizens enjoyed no guaranteed basic rights and the SS, the elite guard of the Nazi state, wielded increasing authority through its control over the police.” Source here.

  17. A warning from Fulton Sheen:
“Look at the world around you. How many church leaders do you know who already preach a gospel that is no more than watered down socialism? How many sweet talking, smiling preachers do you already know who parade their political activism while neglecting the reality of Christ’s true gospel? How many religious people do you know who already believe that it is all about the brotherhood of Man while neglecting the Fatherhood of God?

At this time there is no single false prophet or counterfeit church. Instead these false systems of thought have infiltrated all the Christian churches and the Catholic church is no exception. When I hear prelates talk more about saving the environment than saving souls I’m smelling sulphur. When I hear priests and prelates justifying a sexual immorality that breaks the sacrament of marriage and the natural order in the cause of “peace and mercy” I’m smelling smoke–and it ain’t incense. When I hear prelates compromise the Catholic faith in favor of a false ecumenism I’m whiffing something vile from the sewers of Dis.

Already they have put before us “a new religion without a Cross, a liturgy without a world to come, a religion to destroy a religion, or a politics which is a religion–one that renders unto Caesar even the things that are God’s.”

Wake up, and don’t be deceived. Remember the only thing Satan knows how to do is to lie. He is the Father of Lies and the Father of Flies, and where the flies gather there is already a corpse.”

Too bad more people didn’t take notes and take him seriously…

Very thankful that our President has smoked them out and continues to do so despite enormous negative consequence to him and his family. Feels more the President is going the way of martyr which in the end may be his most important contribution.
