The Armor of God

Anointing of St. Joan of Arc

By Charlie Johnston

Joe Biden has been inaugurated as the first fully fraudulent president in the history of this country. He is now the Pretender in Chief. ISIS understood the implications of that, as on Thursday in Baghdad they launched two suicide bomber attacks – for the first time in years. It won’t be the last.

After checking out the ground in Washington, D.C. late last week, I started calling friends in the pro-life movement to urge them to stay home for this year’s March for Life. The city looked like East Berlin at the height of the Cold War – with more troops and defenses mounted than when the city had been under actual threat of attack by southern forces in the Civil War. By the weekend, to my great relief, organizers of the March for Life had decided it would be a “virtual” march this year (I had nothing to do with that decision: I do not know the people who run the March for Life and had made no phone calls to that organization – but I am glad of the decision.)

It had already become clear that the pagan left had decided to demonize all conservatives and Christians as “insurrectionists” and “domestic terrorists.” It had also become clear that their primary tactic of physically attacking us wherever they could identify us was now yesterday’s news. Now, they seek to embed themselves with us pretending to be one of us as cover for inciting violence to further the preferred new narrative. (Pro tip – when you see someone dressed in black wearing the creepy skull Covid mask, he is not your ally, whatever he says.) This was a go-to tactic of the KGB to root out dissenters – embed people in suspect offices to identify and smoke out dissenters and disappear them.  I do my dead level best never to help further my opponent’s game plan. Some friends have been urging me not to say things like this, lest I get in trouble. They kind of prove my point. If I can get in trouble for mere speech, the republic is already gone. So, nah, I’m good.

Many have taken comfort at finding that many of the instigators of the tumult at the Capitol on Jan. 6 were actually leftist provocateurs. I am pleased that, though a few of our CORAC people were near the Capitol when it began, none of them went into the building. They had the good sense not to further the narrative the pagan left was desperately hoping for.

It is a fact that some of the instigators of the outburst at the Capitol were left-wing activists. It is not certain what the left-right mix of instigators was. What is certain is that many of those who allowed themselves to be instigated were, in fact, conservatives. As Christians, we are not just called to defend the faith, but to give witness – to both the faithful and the faithless. While steadfastly defending those who are wildly over-denounced as rioters, insurrectionists and domestic terrorists by the pagan left, the fact is that we each must examine our consciences and do better. Again, I have no problem with defensive force and, in fact, support it. But I do not support instigating violence. We have a long, ugly trial ahead of us. It would do us well to prepare ourselves for that trial by reading – and integrating into our lives – the late Rev. Martin Luther King’s  “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.”

Meantime, I concur with Scott Adams’ suggestion that conservatives hold Democrats to their own standards. They seek to impeach Donald Trump after he has left office for “inciting violence.” The defense is simply a factual matter: Trump’s speech at the National Mall specifically forbade violence, the incursion into the Capitol began well before Trump’s speech ended, and law enforcement has determined that some elements (both on the left and the right) had planned violence a week prior to the incursion. Even though Democrats are provably factually wrong on what Trump did, it is useful that they have established inciting violence as an impeachable offense. Republicans should introduce impeachment articles against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for their open support of rioting and violence throughout the last year – and should introduce articles to formally remove Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Maxine Waters, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and every Democrat official who did the same throughout the ugly year behind us. I know there is no chance that any of these will pass with Democrats controlling the formal levers of power over everything, but there is value in speaking truth to power, particularly in these times when media and corporations are oppressing you for simply questioning the leftist narrative, while political officials are more openly calling for re-education camps. Surely some Republican could mount the will to object to actual calls for violence and suppression of political speech. Or maybe not.

A lot of Republicans, led by former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) and Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) along with a host of lesser lights have jumped in full tilt with the leftist oppressors. Most national Republican legislators are trying to make nice with the leftist overlords to try to salvage their place in the establishment club. There are only a genuine handful of Republicans I trust at all to defend citizens and Constitutional rights anymore. I have been wrestling with changing my political registration in Colorado from Republican to independent. On the one hand, I don’t want the ruling Democrats in Colorado to think I might be squishing out to avoid persecution; on the other, since when it really counted, Republicans provided all the protection against a determined assault on liberty that a silk curtain would against a howitzer attack, I don’t want to be associated with that silly party much more than I do with the more malevolent Democratic Party. If the Patriot Party Trump has threatened actually forms, I will sign up on day one and my conundrum will be over. I will still work with those Republicans who have shown, by their deeds, that they are serious about liberty – but all the Republican squishes who are scrambling to protect their sinecures (and they are the majority) are dead to me. On the other hand, good people of good courage and good will often need a little time to wrap their minds around what has actually happened. Many good people are desperately hoping they are not actually seeing what they are actually seeing. With each new outrage, it is harder for them to maintain the illusion. So I am not ready to cast any who are desperately hoping for the best into outer darkness just yet. But time is not on their side.

The insurance company, AIG, cancelled former Congressman and baseball great Curt Schilling’s insurance because he is a conservative and talks about it on social media. Some hotels and banks have started refusing to do business with conservatives who ask for an honest and transparent investigation into election fraud. Social media has gone berserk in its efforts to bully and boss around little people – and big ones. Google is threatening to shut down its operations in the nation of Australia. Much of corporate America has become the modern equivalent of the Woolworth’s counter that refused to serve black folks in the Jim Crow era. Perhaps surprisingly, I am rather enthusiastic about these efforts. Yeah, it’s inconvenient for us as we are being forced to migrate to other, more responsible sites. But Curt Schilling will still have insurance, conservatives will still have banks and hotels to do business with – and people will still find ways to communicate with each other. Shoot, I am already on MeWe, Gab and Signal and will sign up for any credible site that comes along. I don’t know which will thrive, but one or more of them will. The woke corporations’ inconveniencing of us comes at the cost of massive loss of market share for them. It’s quicker and more effective than a boycott – so I say have at it. Show us who you are so we can move to digital and business neighborhoods that value liberty and the American Constitutional system. It will one day be seen as one of the most bizarre instances of mass self-immolation in history. If Jack Dorsey want to show me how powerful he is by cutting off his right arm, I can live with that.

The massive National Guard presence at the inauguration of Mr. Biden was designed to underscore how dangerous American conservatives are – that they are domestic terrorists. It sent a different message than the left intended – both domestically and internationally. Domestically, it reinforced the reality that Biden has trouble attracting a crowd that will fill up much more than a driveway. Internationally, it showed a government that is terrified of its own citizens – a confession that is catnip to feral rogue regimes throughout the world. But when you are Pretender in Chief, you have to put on a fearsome show. But then the idiots on the left compounded the fatuousness of the show by insulting and abusing the very National Guard Troops they called to protect their eminences. Biden’s speech thrilled leftists across the land with its call for unity – while simultaneously defining all who disagreed with him on anything as bigots, homophobes and domestic terrorists. Some unity! That speech could have been just as easily given by Josef Stalin, Pol Pot, Adolf Hitler or Mao-Tse Tung.

I stand by my assertion that the American Republic is dead. It had a great run – the greatest national run in world history, but it is over. The sole chance of reviving it lies within the judiciary – which despite its feckless cowardice over the last three months could, with real fortitude, reassert Constitutional liberty. I don’t dismiss the possibility of revival: when I had my neurosurgery 18 years ago, they lost me twice on the table and revived me. But I’m not counting on it. I see only four possible outcomes to where we are right now. First, the Democrats stand down from their howling fascist rage to destroy everything that is not them. After the first few days of Biden, it seems pretty clear they will not stand down from anything. The second is genuinely violent and widespread insurrection. This all could have been prevented by a serious and transparent investigation of the massive voting irregularities. But everybody refused to even look at the mountain of evidence. In fact, the ruling class decreed that even mentioning the evidence was treason. Yet, no matter how many times the lapdog media calls election fraud “baseless” because they refuse to peruse the evidence, people know better – and won’t forever stand to be serfs in their own country. Third, the ruling class could pacify the country in the way that Stalin, Mao and Hitler pacified theirs. Again, I do not see Americans who value liberty trudging timidly to the gulag and the re-education camps. Fourth, a serious movement for secession begins in those states which still value liberty and the American Constitutional system. The latter is my preferred path, as I think it the least bloody way forward, capable of preserving the rule of law, liberty and Constitutional governance without having to instigate violence. Over the next two weeks I will have a raft of articles covering specific issues on all of this. These will include pieces on how the movie, “The Exorcist,” is a near perfect metaphor for where we now are; the Trump legacy; what secession is and the path forward; and our duty before God.

Meantime, I start this year with four tactical priorities for CORAC:

  • Hold mass gatherings of Christian conservatives in states that respect the rule of law. The cheery nature of such gatherings will put the lie to leftist efforts to smear Christians and conservatives as “domestic terrorists,” while simultaneously making it easier to prevent infiltration by leftist instigators and ensure that police will stop, rather than encourage, leftist violence.
  • Have faithful, orthodox religious leaders of all faiths have a time to address these gatherings. Besides the obvious benefits of this, I have another long-term goal in mind. Over the next year, timid religious leaders will find that the left is coming for them, too, no matter how much they grovel. I want those timid leaders to see what a joyful, enthusiastic reception faithful leaders get from the faithful. Then when they see an unending series of pogroms and persecution despite their groveling, they will also see there is another path they can choose: fidelity to Christ and His people.
  • Make no protests in Washington, D.C. To protest for redress of grievances tacitly assumes that the national authority is a legitimate one. I want to make Washington irrelevant to serious people and patriots. Most state legislatures still retain their legitimacy, even if they are ignorant. Appeal to legitimate governments, not the illegitimate one that now occupies Washington. I want to make Washington so irrelevant to the national conversation that by the end of the year, it is paying people to protest against it just to try to prove it is still relevant.
  • Work to encourage and facilitate those states who will seriously consider secession. Over the last week, I have spoken at length with a little over a dozen folks I know who have strong ties to the federal government, as employees, contractors or officials. Only three were willing to seriously consider secession. That was as I expected. People who are most vested in a system have the strongest motivation to defend that system. But these people are all brave, honest and smart individuals. I wanted to get the best arguments against secession that I could, from people whose honor and courage I knew to be true. All but one of the arguments were fatuous. I will detail that in the article I put up specifically dealing with secession.

These are treacherous and fluid times. Be deliberate. If you go off half-cocked on some wildly implausible theory just venting, you will squander credibility you need as more and more people wake up to the oppression and persecution that now looms over us. Remember that you are called to be heralds of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart. The Lord intends that we gather as many as can be gathered to safety and returned to Him. Be deliberate, that the harvest may be bountiful.

Donate to CORAC!

    1. Charlie & Beckita & all,
We have taken on the Auxilium Christianorum prayers with Fr. Heilman. I pray daily for more exorcists to be trained. We do not fight human foes therefore praying to blind the evil as well as for the conversion of those who would be our enemies.
I figure if what I can do is pray then pray I will!
I would have commented sooner, but my iPad was acting up – could see everything except this site… odd, don’t you think?
Ongoing prayers for all, katey in Oregon – where it also snows now and then.

  1. Secession may be a solution but long term would not be the answer. Imagine if the northeast states, and parts of Canada formed a Communist Nation. Controlling access to the Great Lakes via the St. Lawrence Seaway and Erie Canal.

EPI provides articles, books, videos, maps, lectures and other media to help citizens across America to understand and develop solutions to specific issues which threaten our Constitution and our way of life in America; threats which include insidious property rights infringements, as well as attacks on our freedom to worship as we please.

The effort on the part of the international community to create a world government and religion has far reaching implications. Our goal is to help people understand the consequences to them and our nation if our politics are driven by a belief that big government is the answer to everything and that nature is god and humans are destroying it.”

  2. I would like to add two more names to be impeached. Rand Paul suggested Bernie Sanders be impeached because it was one of his followers who shot Steve Scalia. And lets go for Obama too for his involvement via Clinton in the Benghazi attacks/deaths.

I wrote our governor a one line statement about if Texas secedes please consider joining them.

    1. Hi, Charlie: Thank you for the article. I’m wondering about the survival of any of us who are or may be or may become dependent on government handouts, namely Social Security. Many of us have no other income: “People who are most vested in a system have the strongest motivation to defend that system. But these people are all brave, honest and smart individuals.” Do you think the government will pull our checks and leave us homeless just because we may have posted something conservative on social media?

      1. Don’t see why they wouldn’t pull our checks – after all we are enemies of he state. This is a telling point for many. However, one of the visionaries said Mary said to not hoard our money, because money would be irrelevant. How would this play into our checks? MANY folks I know have only their SS checks.

        1. I remember the story (parable) Charlie told in great detail…I often repeat it to Michael (my hubby) because he worries about retirement a lot …here is Charlie’s parable:

One neighbor was walking 🚶‍♂️ outside with a wheelbarrow filled with 💰 money!!! The neighbor approached the man with the wheelbarrow and said , “Hey neighbor, I could sure use that wheelbarrow and I have such n such that you might be able to use!” The man with the wheelbarrow eagerly agreed to the barter and handed over the wheelbarrow full of money to the neighbor in need of the wheelbarrow! Then the neighbor who took the wheelbarrow emptied the wheelbarrow of the sum of useless money 💰 and walked away with the very useful wheelbarrow!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Charlie said it much more eloquently but I think we all might catch his drift!!! 😳

      2. Alas, schoooter, whether they pull it for political reasons or not, I think depending on the government to honor its commitments is a dicey proposition, at best. I know this will strike terror into many, but extreme times always and everywhere have meant the failure of everything people have relied on. What we will have to do is to rely on each other. That is another reason for the formation of CORAC – to actively get people together to care for those abandoned by the system that died on them.

        1. Charlie, I love the idea of CORAC, but what concerns me is that we are all so spread out, many miles apart from each other. I don’t know how we can physically get together, although we can of course, help others/neighbors near us. I guess I feel the loss of friends, etc. since we are in a new area after moving a couple of years ago.

          1. Yes I too have thought really if things get super bad the ones you will be helping most and the ones that will be helping you are your physical neighbors right now. It just makes sense. But it is nice right now to have our zooms etc to share ideas and learn new things! I learned something from Mick and Stevebc that have saved me two times already from going to the dr by doing vitimins and herbal remedies for illnesses! Now mick is coaching us on what seeds to plant and when! Pretty cool stuff!!! Charlie and many here with much more spiritual maturity than me are daily offering spiritual direction which is fortifying our next right step so lots of boot 🥾 camp stuff going on currently

    2. Don’t worry about your family’s programmed, autotomic responses, Nance. For all their waking hours over the last 5 years, they’ve voluntarily subjected themselves to be brainwashed by anti-Trump forces. All that you need to do is continue on being polite, loving and caring towards them, in just the same way that Jesus would if He were physically present. For them, Nance, you’re Jesus with skin on.

We’ve already noticed that one of our most devout anti-Trump friends is now complaining about President Biden and Chuck Schumer! Previously, our friend could never have stated a single fact supporting her “opinion” that President Trump was a “racist, misogynist, homophobic liar”. Fortunately, the results of brainwashing will fairly rapidly fade away unless the conditioning is continually reapplied day after day.

Since President Trump is now out of the limelight, their target is no longer in range.

  5. Charlie, I will be very interested to read your article on secession. At first glance it would seem to be fraught with difficulties, but when you factor in that our current ‘government’ in DC, our national government, is fully illegitimate, truly the arrangements in effect until 11:50 am on January 20 are no more. The covenant is broken.

I can barely contain myself with all the stuff Charlie talks about and daily ultrasound pics from my two upcoming grandchildren (first ones) who are both 20 weeks along! And then on the flip side, I see and we all see how the democrats are on the wagon to kill more babies 👶🏻 in the womb and kill more American jobs!!! Down right infuriating!!! And I often use Charlie’s phrase; “God won’t be mocked forever!” Gosh there’s just NOTHING cuter than watching a little 20 week 1 pound baby bouncing around in a mother’s womb! 😘

    1. The breach of the cathedral and sanctuary was incredibly disturbing, and I do believe that we’ll all be faced with similar situations very soon. If you listen very closely, at 1:54 you will hear what I believe to be the way that we are called to respond. In the midst of all the chaos, you hear one lone voice firmly say “We love you”. In the second video which i will attach, different view, you hear it again at :46 but you can also watch the way he [I believe it to be this same man] resolves the situation. Once they are outside, he sends his parishioners — who are rightfully angered and emotional — back inside, and stands alone on the steps of the cathedral peacefully facing the protestors. I imagine when/if I am faced with the same situation, and I would hope to be able to lock hands with my fellow parishioners and form a chain to silently and peacefully protect our parishioners, church property and sanctuary while they raged on. All of their hate and brokenness are defeated by the simple contrast that a peaceful response creates. Here’s the entire clip to the end: https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2021/01/22/columbus-pro-life-mass-interrupted-by-pro-choice-protesters/6672626002/?fbclid=IwAR0Z8gFaLubN_gScfxAuxcMw8ypYp1XcuMmeGmR1OCQnXi146VJ0yY4uO9M

  7. We held our March for life today in central Wisconsin, in the little town of Pittsville, with about 50 people. A bit of honking and waving in support of our cause as we prayed the rosary from our Church to the K of C tombstone for the unborn babies that were aborted and back. A bright, sunny day of hope for our commitment to defend and proclaim life. It is good!

  8. I have a question about the sacraments in this storm. Sound guidance is needed and most appreciated.

We have a child in eighth grade who wants to be confirmed. During this period of time we are living, we feel more than ever this sacrament is needed and should not be held back.

Now rules have changed. Now it is a 2 year program. However, because of the “reset,” everything was put on hold, indefinitely, it seems.

Question: if our pastoral authorities refuse to allow confirmation, do we submit in obedience, or do we have other options?

    1. Littlelight, my suggestion would be to find a Traditionalist parish. Perhaps you have one in your area run by the Fraternity of St Peter or the Institute of Christ the King. My FSSP parish here in Minneapolis just announced the start of confirmation preparation classes and plan to have Confirmations in the Fall.
      Peace,
      Matthew

    1. LESLYEK: The UK-based “Guardian” has been a lefty sewer for decades. Up until the late 1950s it was based in Manchester, and was called the “Manchester Guardian”. As such it was representative of the great tradition of provincial newspapers in the UK, being based outside London and therefore not immediately identified with the metropolitan elite but rather more with what used to be characterised as good old northern English straightforwardness and directness. Sort of like the Yankee sterotype!

However it changed to the current title on fully moving to London in 1961 – and fully being subsumed into the lefty-liberal nexus of that era, It went full loony-lefty in the 1970s and has got steadily worse ever since, like the NYT on steroids. To be seen reading it is the virtue-signal of choice for libs. and, I regret to say, Ireland, along with its mirror-image, the appalling Irish Times (another old and venerable newspaper now infested by liberal rot – truly they destroy everything they touch).

The only redeeming point is that its actual print circulation has been declining for years, down to just about 125k per day now, which is a death spiral, and it’s said that it’s only kept alive by virtue of being the paper of choice for bolshie bastions such as the BBC, higher Civil Service, Universities etc. If it weren’t for its online begging (per the example you posted above) it would be dead. Not to mention the undoubtedly out-of-view influx of funds from certain sources who are to remain nameless, of course.

Like the NYT and others of that ilk, anything published in it should be regarded with a very healthy dose of scepticism – including the weather (actually no, *especially* the weather, because they’ll be using that to push the global warming agenda…)

        1. Hmm, Mick – I made a mess of this sentence: “To be seen reading it is the virtue-signal of choice for libs. and, I regret to say, Ireland, along with its mirror-image, the appalling Irish Times…”

Which should have been: ” To be seen reading it is the virtue-signal of choice for libs. in the UK and, I regret to say, also in Ireland, along with its mirror-image, the now appalling Irish Times…”

The IT was indeed, for the bulk of its 170-year history, a good newspaper – my parents read it and I was more or less brought up on it. But it started circling the drain about 20 years ago and has now been flushed entirely down it, having played an utterly despicable role of naked agenda-setting and advocacy, as well as outright deception, in the abortion referendum in 2018, and needless to remark also in the preceding “marriage” one in 2015.

And, you know, the poor sophomoric fools still parade themselves around as the “paper of record”. Well yes, pwetty lil’ pwecious snowfwakes, you’re recording something all right… it’s just not what you think it is. To spell it out for you (because, God help us, one really has to): it’s recording, for the more sane era that we hope and pray will emerge, how you surrendered utterly and willingly to a manipulated delusion – just like all the “useful idiots” of history.

    2. Leslyk – The guardian is now a nonprofit news agency – and mostly online so their dwindling print subscriptions are irrelevant. They are doing quite well. I am appalled however at that fundraising pitch. I tried to find it on their site and couldn’t hopefully someone came to their senses and pulled it – I imagine they had a BIG backlash. Or maybe it’s still there and I just didn’t see it. Unfortunately, the opinion they express is rather common in national newsrooms, although I think most local news still has a semblance of ethics. As a national news they can scoop up dollars from foundations, donations, major donors AND advertising – plus they don’t have to incur the cost of printing and distribution – so they are pretty profitable.

  11. I am open to hearing arguments for secession but I have a hard time with that one. From a purely practical standpoint, the states are so intertwined economically. In a previous post, someone commented on how Texas has their own electrical grid. The rest of the country is divided into east and west. Many populated states depend on electricity produced in less populated states. That is just one example. I fear that the fight over practicalities of secession would grow so large that we would forget what we were fighting over in the first place.

My own state is just about as red as they come (and I don’t mean commie red). We would probably be gung ho for secession. But, I suspect as soon as people started to figure out the impact to their pocket book, we’d back away pretty quickly. Trump wasn’t very popular around here when his trade war with China tanked the price of soybeans.

And it isn’t like each state is homogeneous. This red states has a few populous blue counties. A map of red vs blue counties tells a much different story than red vs blue states.

Finally, the unity of these states has been purchased by the blood of many men and women. This republic may be dead, but it was dead on the operating table once before. While minimizing bloodshed is an important and noble goal, it should not be the primary goal. The people who fought and died to establish and maintain this once great country were not primarily concerned with minimizing bloodshed.

    1. I agree with you Josh – I’m not ready to give up on this country yet – I think Biden and his lefty friends are making such a hash of things, they will be complicit in their own demise. I live in a very blue state and I consider moving almost every day. But I love the United States and I’m willing to fight for it. It’s kind of like discovering a spouse has had an affair, right now we are in the middle of the heartbreak and betrayal, anger and recriminations. But if we dig deep into what brought all these states together in the first place and focus on building a stronger union, we can make it. I don’t think we are as great apart as we are together.

  12. One other illegitimate President was elected in 1960 courtesy of Sam Giancana. He was smart enough and he quickly realized the long-operating Communist infiltration/conspiracy. — “For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence–on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. Today, groups such as the Bilderbergers, Council on Foreign Relations, Club of Rome, Trilateral Commission, United Nations, and others conspire to infiltrate and subvert all governments and societies to remake them in their New World Order image. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.” [https://youtu.be/F-AZV3qnwkA] — Not long after he uttered those words, a bullet went through his head. I bet those who “arranged” ballots in his favor seriously repented of their cheating Richard Nixon of his right to be President of the US. General Patton was of the opinion that WW2 should continue until all Communist regimes were routed from our planet. I am convinced that earned him also an early death. Ever since my conversion in the 1990’s I have tried to reason with fellow Christians regarding the danger we face, the demonic nature of Communism and it “radical critique of everything that is” — It is obvious that they opposed God Himself, the Same Who identified Himself as “The One Who Is” and the creator of everything that is. I observed a number of reactions to my message: “alarmist” was one of them, “exaggerations”, “fundamentalist lunacy” or ¨Christian taliban¨ and many others. You reading this brief message, after reading also the clear and concise article above surely won´t say now that I was exaggerating back then. We should be thinking about our enemies as enemies, seeing them the same way we would see a maniac with an ax approaching our children playing in the school yard and react accordingly. Well, I wish it was that simple. I wish they only had an ax.

  13. Forming a new political party by Trump might be more important than Trump serving his second consecutive term and then walking away from politics. He is backed by possibly more than half of the nation. The Democrat Party and the Republican Party became an equivalent of CNN and Fox News, pretending to fight each other, but in fact when it came to re-election of Trump, they were pretty much working together to vote him out. Each of these parties and media outlets need to attract voters in a polarized and divisive fashion so that great majority of people are trapped in this scheme and then almost everybody is staying put within the compromised framework of power built by the establishment elites. There is a great political hope in the idea of Trump creating a new formation. Now more than before, Trump and his family (especially Donald jr.) need to have security around them all the time and should never travel together.

  15. There may also be a fifth scenario, Charlie. There is ample amount of evidence of corruption with Biden and other politicians with China, Iran, etc. that is in the hands of NSA/military intelligence. They could legitimately remove him from the presidency by exposing the corruption to the public masses of foreign interference and arresting him, and others, for sedition and treason. Just a thought.

    1. I don’t see it as a serious scenario, Jennifer, nor any of the other scenarios that involve technical readings of law (or even obvious readings of the same). Let me tell you why.

The Declaration, Constitution and Bill of Rights are a sort of secular “sacraments,” visible signs of an invisible unity of mind, purpose and values of a people. When the invisible reality ceases to exist, those secular sacraments become mere pieces of paper. For at least five decades, left-wing judges have NOT honestly applied the Constitution and statutory law to serious matters. Rather, their job has been to craft a plausible reason for why the Constitution does not actually mean what it actually says. The left, certainly for the last 20 years, has been actively and progressively stomping on and mutilating the Constitution. They make it clear that they loathe it and do not consider it to be binding on them – and have been getting away with it.

This country was founded by a moral and religious people. But it is no longer such. It has developed a fundamentally pagan ethos. This is why all appeals to the Constitution or to subsection three of Paragraph four of the Insurrection Act and other such is irrelevant. Does anyone think that if you showed bulletproof evidence of what the law actually says that Antifa, BLM, or even Eric Swalwell and Nancy Pelosi would just say, “Oh, never mind. We were wrong,” and stand down? It has become far more fundamental than that. The left has stolen our Republic. They are not going to give it back because of a piece of paper, no matter how compelling. We have to make our stand – and we need to focus on how to do that most effectively with the least amount of bloodshed.

      2. Sue, Caritas of Birmingham is NOT a Catholic organization. In fact, the local Diocese warns against involvement with the privately established group founded by and run by Terry Colafrancesco who speaks and writes while hiding behind the moniker, “A Friend of Medjugorje.” Why hide? That’s a red flag concerning the vetting counsel Charlie has offered us. I cannot find a link on the Birmingham diocesan website, but I do know, over time, several Bishops from the Diocese have issued statements cautioning the faithful about the organization. When former Bishop Foley discovered more about Colafrancesco, he forbade Mass being offered on the grounds of Caritas of Birmingham. Think about it. This organization was in close proximity to EWTN and Mother Angelica had numerous guests who spoke about Medjugorje, yet, she never once hosted this man. Many an account has been written by people who once lived on the grounds and left, describing the community as cult-like. There’s a solid Medjugorje site with longtime, solid and sane supporters of Medjugorje, such as Dennis Nolan, writing there. You can find it here and the first page to which I link you reveals Fr. Svet warning people about Colafrencesco.

  16. Charlie is on Gab?

    Per Wikipedia:
Gab is an American alt-tech social networking service known for its far-right userbase. Widely described as a haven for extremists including neo-Nazis, white supremacists, white nationalists, and the alt-right, it has attracted users and groups who have been banned from other social media and users seeking alternatives to mainstream social media platforms.

Who knew this about Charlie? 🤣

      1. Hey Kate, I haven’t heard that from anyone except you. Be very careful, for the left is going to try to spread noxious rumors about actual freedom sites in order to discredit them and foist confusion. If Gab did such a thing, it would be a self-defeating strategy for people would find out. So my attitude is to sign up to any who appear basically credible, then leave if they turn out to be the same-old, same-old. But make your decision based on evidence, not rumors, because just as they did with Donald Trump, the left is trying to smear those who actually want to be our allies.

In fact some of the speech that is allowed, I have had to curtail by blocking/muting myself. The freedom to do so, is on my hands. 😉

Here is a link and an excerpt from a recent article.

“…It takes a hardline stance on freedom of speech, allowing all legal content except pornography. Users are allowed to control their own experience on the platform through the creation of custom word filters and blocks.

Gab takes an equally hardline stance on illegal content and threats of violence, encouraging users to proactively report such content for removal….”

I do know and believe that God and Mama Mary are and will help us as we go along, each striving to be close to them, and discerning and taking each our “next right steps.” However, I do know what God is indicating to me in my prayer. Focus most especially on what’s in front of you each day (each moment, really). Tomorrow (God willing), I start another work week, so I’m going to be at my job for most of the day, then we’re supposed to be getting a big snowfall between tomorrow afternoon and Tuesday morning, so I’ll be shoveling my driveway (likely at least twice). Along with that, Mass and LOTS of praying! 🙂 God Bless all, and prayers for everyone here as you all discern your own “next right steps” from God! 🙂

Of course, it’s harder to do that when it’s colder and darker these days….. Something else to offer up, I guess! 🙂

  19. The left have weaknsses that Tump has shown us, they go nuts and totally loose it when they’re nuroticly scheduled plans are messed with.

Texit & other states that feel the same way would seriouly mess with the globalist agenda, and in a very practical way leave the left & their puppets to devour each other. The serious downside of this plan is it has to be carried out swiftly in days & weeks (not months & years), as not to give the left any time to attack economicly, interfere, threats/fear mongerring, bribes, false flags, bring in communist reinforcemen, and violence. Wexit failed in Canada, due to western Canadans acting too slow, expecting the left wouldn’t do anything to sabotoge them.

I don’t how anything else could work short of a worldwide natural disaster that would end technology & communication and thus also end any effective large scale government, media, & public mind control…

  21. Interestingly, there is already a kind of “secession” happening.
Builders and realtors i know are lauding the influx of people from “lock down” states and “riot” states. They tell me some are buying homes sight unseen. I can only wonder what this may look like if Florida does secede, it may be the greatest influx of people into the state for all time. Oh, some may move out too, but I think the vast majority will stay.
Interestingly, there are vast areas of developed neighborhoods with very few houses in them. Way back when, developers bought huge tracks of land and put in roads and infrastructure but the plan to lure home buyers failed. Over the last 4 decades, I have worked on a house here and a house there in these areas, but there are still multi thousands of lots empty per development. And this is just in one county! I have seen similar vacancies throughout the state.
The biggest threat will be supplies and labor. The 8 years of Obama destroyed these industries and after 4 years of a Trump booming economy, there is still a lot missing. Many tradesmen are overworked as they try to keep up with the jobs at hand and many construction materials are in short supply, particularly windows.
At 60 years old, my high production days are over. Still, I manage to tile one house ever 2-3 days. ( in one day, if I kill myself doing it). The big thing is, If I wanted to expand, finding qualified people could prove futile. Everyone wants a computer job as they grew up playing video games and are too soft for a construction job. My boys grew up working with me so they are always the go-to fellows for anyone in need. It’s a curse/blessing to be so capable. I may just be spoiled because I grew up surrounded by real men so my expectations may be a bit skewed. Not sure what this will mean down the road for us when we are dependant in those with little skill in areas that are truly important. But I’m doing my part in having raised real men for this task. I’m hoping they raise their boys to be so well trained too.

Businesses need to change their thinking and take newbies, put in the time to help develop those learned skills but it all comes down to the bottom line, walk in the door, go to work and make me money, greed, so much greed. We will all end up paying the price for not taking the time to teach the next generation when no one ends up knowing how to do much of anything.

      1. Interestingly CPC, is the low quality control on products these days. I’ve tiled over bathtubs for 40 years and I’ve seen more chipped tubs in the last two years than in the previous 38! The tile and many other products have lost their quality as well but the saddest thing is to see the workmanship slide. I think it comes down to the lack of apprenticeship where a person develops their skill slowly under a master’s watchful eye. If you are abandoned to just do your job and the only accountability is how fast it is done, all the finess is lost and quality becomes a thing of the past.
And like you say a living wage, even in a skilled area, seems to be a thing of the past too. I am not paid much more a square foot than I was paid four decades ago and money does not have the same value it did then, so in retrospect, I’m actually making LESS! My saving grace is my speed and the fact I’m debt free from paying off everything over those long hard years and not incurring any more new debt. (Of course, my 7 children moving out helped too!)

        1. Philip G Frank: yes, I agree totally. In Ireland we still maintain the rigourous 4-year registered apprenticeship system for all trades, very akin to that in the UK for historical reasons, but we have been under pressure from a European “Directive” to allow lesser-qualified (as we would see it) people to take part – inadequate English being only one of the problems. It has necessitated setting up a very expensive and complicated structure to “vet” the level of skills in comparison to ours, and I believe the apprenticeship authority has been under pressure to dial back on this. Oh, I do wonder who could be behind all that? But it’s crazy!! I mean, who is going to benefit from people being killed by, say, an inadequately trained gas fitter causing an explosion? Or do they even care?

          Redundant question… 😦

        2. Sadly, Phillip, Biden has put in susan rice to make changes here in the US for everyone to have equity. Not all are equal, all have equity. Think this out a while. We experienced this a bit when we had our rentals and lived there as well. It didn’t matter that we had worked for forty years, each of us having one full time job and working on the rentals every night, weekends and all summer long. A 26 year old man implied that he should have the same benefits without any of the work while looking at our RV. With the comment-it must be nice. I wonder what he thought as he would drive by us as we working on the property.

Yes, as Biden/rice make these changes for all of us to have equity, to me it means we will all have nothing. There was a very brief article about Rice’s position a week or two ago and then I watched O’Reilly last night. He is researching it and will be reporting more throughout the week on his broadcast.

The latter is my preferred path, as I think it the least bloody way forward, capable of preserving the rule of law, liberty and Constitutional governance without having to instigate violence.”

So, if it happens, there will still be 49 states with many of us living in them… as jealous as I will be for Texas (or whoever makes it happen), I will be asking that you keep us informed on what the “new freedom” feels like (haha)…. in all seriousness, as much as I hope something like that happens to “wake up” the rest of America (or at least squeeze into the news cycle instead of the codifying of abortion into the law or how some teanage boy now gets to sprint past my daughter in track….), those of us on the other side will need to continue to be a contact and welcome committee for those who finally decide how nonsensical Communist America has become….

        1. Considering all we’ve heard here and elsewhere over the years, I don’t think “secession” stands a chance of being neatly defined by a State’s borders. Think about it. As for your neck o’ the woods, start laying track for a no-nonsense free zone whatever the scope (e.g. – “NNFZ-BB42”). I’ve already designated mine “AZWHWKYA-MP1.”

        1. Some folks are suggesting the United States would immediately go to war against any states that seceded. I think that is far more unlikely than most do – for reasons I will explain in my future piece on secession. The static thinking with which most people approach analysis prevents insightful analysis. People think if one major thing changes, nothing else does – but the reality is that a major change in one area creates a kaleidoscope of changes in other areas. If you want to do good analysis, you have to do your best to anticipate all the changes involved AND the context in which they happen – and that’s a moving target as well. Think of it kind of like a complex pool table. Rarely can you make a shot that does not change the position of many of the other balls on the table – and if you make each shot assuming none of the other balls will move you will almost always lose.

Oh, and by the way, Texas State Rep. Kyle Biedermann from the Hill Country of Texas has introduced a bill (HB 1359) to give Texas voters an opportunity to vote at referendum on whether they want legislators to begin secession proceedings. It is not a binding referendum, but would give legislators a sense of the state.

It further unmasks the Biden alliance as illegetimate, and reveals him to be a tyrant like Hitler before the whole world. A higher percentage of people outside America believe Biden is legitimate due to fake news, otherwise why keep up the deception that of not stealing the election and why go through the trouble of impeaching Trump after he surrenderred? Because the Biden alliance needs to decieve as many people as possible in trusting him as legitimate, let him reveal his fangs, claws, & horns after half the country says they’re out, and I imagine a good portion of the armed forces can opt out too.

“A mild answer turns back wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise pours out knowledge, but the mouth of fools spews folly. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse one breaks the spirit.” Proverbs 15:1-4

When I watch or read the news I tend to get discouraged about the state of the world. From murder, to robbery, to domestic violence etc. It all seems so overwhelming and depressing. It seems the worst of mankind is everywhere. But as I have said many times before, the only person I can control is myself and my reaction. How can I make my world, here, in this southern town, be a better world?

I read another blogger at Everyday Grace a little while back who told an amazing story you may have already read. She was screamed and cursed at by another woman at a Starbucks. Instead of screaming back, she looked through the eyes of love, and bought the woman coffee. That changed everything, for both women. By that small act of kindness, the anger was stopped in it’s tracks.

I took a look around me, at all the other people close to me, neighbors, the people in traffic, at the general hustle and bustle of life. Everybody is suffering something. Everybody gets frustrated and angry. Is there anything, anything at all, that I can do to make someone else’s life a little easier? A little less frustrating?

Keeping this thought in mind, I also had to realize where I am in my life. I am a wife and a mother of 3 growing children. I have a dog (I had two dogs, one just recently died in my arms), a lizard, two part-time jobs, and I am a room mom for 3rd grade. If I over extended myself, I know I would become the frustrated, angry, yelling person and that would not be good for anyone. As much as I want to save the whole world in one fell swoop, God has let me know that is His job, and I have but a small part in doing His will right where I am right now.

I began to talk to my dad. My dad is awesome. My dad often thinks of others, and I noticed him doing some little things in his sleepy retirement beach community when I would go visit. On trash day my 75 year old dad would go and put all the neighbors trashcans back in their yard after the trash was picked up. He would tell me, “well, Mrs. So and So has bad knees, she shouldn’t have to drag that thing back up there.” He compliments people all the time with a positive word. After witnessing the simple act of moving a trashcan, I thought, I can do that! So, as I said, I began to look around me. I have neighbors all around, we all speak and say hi to one another, but how was I as a neighbor? I started to notice some things like, some people who work multiple jobs have a hard time getting their lawn mowed in the summer. I decided, if I was already mowing my lawn, it wouldn’t take much to pop over and mow theirs too. I recognized too that I cook dinner for my own family every night, so when I began to get emails that others needed help with dinner, I thought I can just double it. These are the things that are within my means to spread love and kindness.

I don’t know if mowing a lawn or making a dinner does anything to help another’s mood, but I know these are the simple things God asked me to do. Sometimes, I am not able to do even those things, but I am always able to pray for someone else. I am always encouraged when someone says they are praying for me, and so that is one thing I always try to do for others. I believe in the power of prayer. Chances are if you have asked me, I have written your name in my journal and asked God to bless you. Even if you haven’t asked, I may be praying for you too.

I don’t tell you these things to be like, “oh, look at me, I’m great, I help people.” In fact, I can still very much be known to get frustrated and complain. I tell you these things because I have struggled with being depressed about the world, and with feeling out of control about how to live in a world where evil sits on the front page of every newspaper. God put it on my heart to stop the frustration, anger and depression with me. To pay forward kindness and love. He put it there because of my friend Veronica. Depression makes us look inward at ourselves and our woes, God asked me to look up and outward toward others. He asked me to be His servant, and I am trying my very best to listen, though I still struggle sometimes.

I have in the past been known to yell back at others who yell at me, to want to seek revenge of some sort or wish something bad upon someone who hurt me. I am trying and transforming with God’s help to no longer be that person. I want to look through the eyes of love and empathy. So next time someone is yelling at you, or that homeless person asks you for money, stop, think about what you want to put forward into the world. Look through the eyes of love, and don’t let someone else’s anger or frustration turn into yours.

    1. Beautiful.

There is space in each one of us for both kindness, poured out in acts of love, and firmness towards those who would oppress us. The key is discernment – and sometimes discernment in a flash – about which response is more fitting. Particularly in life and death scenarios, self-defense calls for love which does NOT allow another OR ourselves to be physically harmed, including an unjust death. Self-defense and defense of the faithful fulfill these lines from Scripture: “’Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?’ He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:36-40)

Another one who acted with kindness in the face of hatred was Fr. Jerzy Popieluszko. “Father Jerzy was constantly monitored by the secret police, who parked right in front of his home. During the severely cold winters, he would bring them hot tea to warm them up. Because they were people. That’s how he was.”

You can read more about the love and courage of Blessed Fr. Jerzy, soon-to-be-saint, here. I love him so much! Oh Blessed Fr. Jerzy, remain with us, intercede for special graces infusing the virtues of your life in us, and pray for us!

  24. While my children argue in slow motion about the best way to go about the business of igloo-building, (there’s no snow on the ground, this is just the abstract argument of the day I guess) I just want to make a quick remark about those living in blue or split states. I’ve heard more than one person express hopelessness because they can’t move to a red state and they feel, honestly, a little left out. There are a lot of very good people mixed up in blue states and I just wanted to tell them that quiet resistance where they are is not futile. We do not know what the future holds, I cannot see one step beyond each moment, but I know God sees each and every one of us and what we do matters a great deal to Him. I am hearing people write off my state of NY, for example, as a lost cause. A place destined to be totally obliterated by Divine Wrath or turn full Communist. Maybe that is true. However, looking at the state county by county, NY is more red than blue. It’s the reddest spot in the Northeast. Many Sheriffs have already refused to enforce certain governor dictates regarding gatherings. I also noticed that our governor suddenly got kind of quiet on that issue afterwards. There is resistance here, and I have some hope that despite how it looks now, some part of NY may eventually become very important in the future to conservatives in the Northeast. I do not know the way forward, my expertise is mostly about being a good housewife and mom. Prayer and sacrifice is, of course, the best thing someone like myself can offer, but I am noticing something else happening around me. Conservatives are finding each other out of necessity and beginning to create a new network of support. I tell people who feel trapped in NY that we are called here, now, to build connections with people and offer them hope in friendship. It takes guts to live here and be who we are, it takes strength and sacrifice to be a light in the darkness. This sacrifice means something to God. We may have very little control right now over what is happening up at the top, but we can look for openings and opportunities and begin to rebuild the base. If we are to be squeezed out of the regular life we have known, then we will build a new one.

    2. You are a very insightful “housewife and mom,” Katherine. I have found in my travels that usually the Christians in the most anti-Christian areas are the strongest Christians. It makes sense when you think about it. They have to be. Think about the difference between that great Pole, Lech Walesa and, say, Mitch McConnell. McConnell is eager to give up basic liberty in order to make nice with the new powers. Walesa never would – because he knew intimately from experience exactly what he would truly be giving up. I expect some of the great leaders for faith and liberty in the coming years to come from deep blue states.

I was friends with long-time McHenry County Republican Chairman Al Jourdan. In 1976, I signed the time capsule in Crystal Lake that will be opened in 2026. Didn’t realize that we were neighbors across time.

We are very blessed to have an excellent Priest at St. Joseph Church in Richmond, Monsignor Martin Heinz. We also have a very traditional Parish (St. Peter in Volo, Illinois) about ten miles away, run by the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius. 🙂

            1. Small world, Brian. The pastor at St. Peter’s presided over the funeral this morning for the great Joe Scheidler, Godfather of the Pro-Life movement who died at age 93. I prayed along via livestream. Fr. Nathan Caswell’s brother, who is Superior of the Canons Reglar, concelebrated with Fr. Nathan at St. John Cantius where Fr. Joshua is pastor. And their sister, Esther, who has become a dear friend through my involvement with The Anointed Life apostolate – headquarters in Chicago with Fr. Joshua as our spiritual director – was also at the funeral with other friends from the surrounding area. It was beautiful. A great tribute to a great man of God. I can only imagine the millions of souls of aborted babes welcoming Home a hero for their cause as they intercede to bring an end to the depravity of destroying life in the womb. In a very good way, this is a nearly overwhleming meditation.

As we pray for the repose of the soul of Joe Scheidler, let’s pray, also, for the repose of the soul of Aaron Caswell, the eldest of the Caswell siblings who died suddenly last week. The priest brothers also concelebrated at the funeral of their deceased brother last weekend. Praying, too, for all who loved these deceased men.

      2. Sorry to disagree here Charlie, the Peace Nobel Prize winner, one of the most recognized Poles in the world, my childhood hero,Lech Walesa, was unfortunately collaborating with the Communists and his nickname was “Bolek” in the files. It is a really saddening fact. Throughout the past 20 years or so Lech Walesa once claimed he did it on purpose to play out the Communists, and then he denied he collaborated at all. He once claimed he signed the documents of collaboration, spying on the Solidarity prominent figures like Anna Walentynowicz, and then he denied he signed anything at all. When he was the president of Poland, he shredded almost all the files that included his name (agent’s nickname) in the national archives, but it was not possible to destroy all the documents in the Communist/post-Communist apparatus. For example, few years ago when general Kiszczak died, his wife just needing more money sold original documents with Walesa’s (“Bolek’s”) signatures. In March 2019, I asked president Walesa two questions and he actually was kind to reply to one of them. I asked him via fakebook about the files given up by Mrs. Kiszczak if he thinks they are not authentic. His response was he is not sure about other documents and stated that all those where he is included were surely delivered to Mrs. Kiszczak after her husband’s death and she was told to say publicly what she said. I also asked president Walesa if he regrets overthrowing Jan Olszewski’s (noble man and great patriot!) government which decided to disclose the Communists agents/aparatus files to the public and also decided to block selling national properties. There was no answer to that. National corporations were privatized for pennies. I actually worked for International Paper (US corporation) that bought facilities and factories in Kwidzyn. International Paper was offering a well below the value bid ( from what I remember it was 500 million dollars at that time ) but the goverment officials sold it for less than IP was offering ( let’s say 400 millions! ), and the Kwidzyn assets were worth $800 million. I might be bit off with the numbers here, but to give an idea of what was going on. Nevertheless, going back to the Poland’s Communist era, when Lech Walesa’s wife was asked how come Lech brought home a lot of money (and he worked as an electrician) in those struggling times, she said Lech told her he hit the lottery (and she believed in it).

I do not want to tarnish the icon of Lech Walesa, just because the world needs heroes, but please do not fall into believing that Lech Walesa, who could not even speak or write Polish correctly, outplayed the Communist elites. He was a perfect candidate to keep the Communists in the key power positions after Communism officially fell in Poland in 1989. In other words the fall of Communism in Poland was controlled by the Communists.

        1. Pawel, you obviously know Polish politics far more intimately than I do. I have to tell you, though, this sounds a lot like the sort of smear that leftists routinely bring against heroes from the right – tarnish their reputations in order to peel conservative support away from them. In any such tumult, there are always several double games going on…so it could be, either way. But if Walesa fooled me, he also fooled Pope St. John Paul and Ronald Reagan. Strange, though, that if Walesa was such a committed Communist that after he was elected president, he championed liberty and democracy rather than return Poland to Communist rule. If things happened the way you said, it sounds more like Walesa played the Communists than that the Communists played Walesa. We certainly have betrayers embedded among us – but the left LOVES to smear the real thing as a betrayer – and we should fall no more for the leftist smears than we should for the siren songs of the actual betrayers.

          1. Charlie, by no means I think the “Solidarity” movement was launched by the Communists. The fall of Communism was inevitable, thanks in great part to JP2 and the “Solidarity” movement which was indeed genuine. There was no return to the Communist system possible. The “Solidarity” co-founder, Anna Walentynowicz, who lived her life in poverty until her tragic death in the plane crash in Smolensk in 2010 (with then president Lech Kaczynski aboard ), also claimed Lech Walesa was a Communist agent ( actually a bribed electrician who collaborated with Communists). Anna Walentynowicz is not world renown icon of “Solidarity”. She lived a life of a poor citizen and her reward is surely in Heaven. The face of “Solidarity” is still Lech Walesa, whose collaboratory nickname was “Bolek”. The Law and Justice Party, the right-leaning party that is currently in charge has not been not defending Lech Walesa. The two major parties that are defending legacy of Lech Walesa are … post-Communist SLD and “center” Civic Platform supporting LGBT and pro-abortion rights.
Despite these shocking facts about Lech Walesa did not emerge in the 90s, president Lech Walesa was not re-elected for the second term. Post-Communist SLD candidate Aleksander Kwasniewski won the next two elections. The shocking facts and documents “discrediting” Lech Walesa emerged when Lech Walesa became irrelevant in the politics. It is like in 40 years there will be strong evidence Barack Obama was actually not deserving the Nobel Prize, but who will care then.
I understand though why Lech Walesa should not be discredited in general. Discrediting Lech Walesa is automatically discrediting “Solidarity” as a genuine movement since Walesa was and still is the official face of “Solidarity”. It also would be discrediting a lot of world leaders that they were fooled by the Communists morphing into a new reality of the inevitably transforming system in Poland. Anyway, of the three Poles – John Paul II, Jerzy Popieluszko and Lech Walesa, the first two should have been awarded the Peace Nobel prize, and the latter one should have not ( however somebody from “Solidarity” needed to get it ).

Large parts of CA are red, and many sheriffs also have refused Gov Newsom’s dictates. I also believe that Trump may have won CA. For years, though, our conservative votes have gone down a black hole. Now we know why.

Some of us need to remain, and help rebuild. It hurts so see so many write off “commiefornia” but as you say, it takes guts to live here. May we all be a light in the darkness.

    5. Thank you for your comment, Katherine. I live in CA, along with my husband, children and grandchildren. We also own a business, and two out of our three kids work for us. So, we cannot just get up and move, and it is frustrating/scary at times. Our state also, county by county, is mostly red, especially where we are in the northern part. We are also blessed with some constitutional sheriffs in the surrounding counties.

      1. Ugh we also cannot just get up and move, but I do dream about that, and it is becoming increasingly heavy for me.

Anyways, I do not see a lot of hope for people around me (in this area), which is “red” in a bastion of blue, to change. No hope, that is, without an miracle intervention from God.

I do see a lot of confusion/buy-in to some element of the toxic false narrative by many “good” people. For example, some adore masking mandates/limited access to religious services and think they are the cat’s meow.

Another example regarding the vax, here you hear either: “me and mine will never take the vax, we draw the line at the vax!” or “what’s wrong with you, the vax is the answer!”

While I heartily agree the vax is bad/evil/unwise for many, excellent and varied reasons, I tremble at the thought that it will be that simple to escape and/or I personally will have the necessary courage needed to watch mine suffer (if refusing vax leads to a denial of basics). Especially since our state is getting rid of the religious exemption for vaxs now. It just seems unwise to proclaim heroic virtue before the actual test. It seems more prudent to recognize my personal limitations while begging God for said heroism, in trembling.

Also, I do not see people coming together in groups but rather paying lip-service to that, while, the true reality is “the Dwarves are for the Dwarves!”

Charlie, could this be the “all will lose hope” part of the storm? Or is that yet to come, urg.

            1. Yes, and we just must become comfortable with being uncomfortable, if that makes sense. In a broader way, we know the Storm will get tougher and that is not cause for fear. Unto each day, God’s Grace IS sufficient. He IS with each of us. So we’re wise to dwell on this day, and sometimes simply dwell on the moment.

The anonymous writing from WWII comes to mind: “I believe in the sun even when it is not shining and I believe in love, even when there’s no one there. And I believe in God, even when He is silent.”

How blessed are we to have this home to hold each other up and remind one another that God is with us. A friend’s sister conveyed to her that she knew God was with her, yet, she desired God with skin on. And so we are to one another and those around us, just what St. Therese named her beloved sis: the visible God. ♥️

Haha, so today, in what can only be a Godincidence, we are getting a new Husky puppy this Sunday!

My son and his 2 (beloved) doggies (Husky and German or the Ruskie and the German, LOL) are moving out on Sat. Lo, and behold, the Husky person had one puppy that had a home but they backed-out at the last moment. Another one of our girls had begged us for a puppy for her to raise (her dog), and as a bonus, Kep (LiamXOXO’s doggie) would not be lonely. “We’ll see! Give it some time! Maybe next year!” were my responses. It truly was complete, random luck. I see it as a great mercy from God to give us this delightful distraction at such a time as this. At least that’s my story and I’m stickin’ with it. 😀

I was reading these pieces in Susan’s blog today and wow, so hard not to tremble. I too hear on a much, much simpler, distant way the same themes echoed: “Beg for radical forgiveness for yourself and All, beg for blessing on your enemies so that you may also be blessed and forgiven, surrender every detail to Me” These thoughts cannot have hatched in my brain on their own without God’s nudging. Also, what you mentioned about “getting comfortable with being uncomfortable” really resonates—I’ve been noticing this, too. I pray God give us all the grace not to reject Him either through shame/despair or pride/envy during our moment of choosing. Ahh, tremble, tremble. TYG.

I just answered someone today that, for a long time, I’ve been preparing for a possible Illumination of Conscience (Why do I say possible? Because God always does what He says He’ll do, but often it’s in a manner which surprises us.) by asking the Lord to show me to which virtue I should give attention that I may s-t-r-e-t-c-h into it. If Jesus does make His visitation in the traditional way which many expect, I hope to simply kiss His Feet, express repentance and rise again before our Good Shepherd, ready to TNRS and partner with Him in the work ahead of us.

  25. Semantics can change perceptions. What would happen if media would substitute more exact terms such as “forbidden speech”, “sexist speech” or “unauthorized speech” or even “unlawful speech” or the more truthful “Politically incorrect speech” for the catch-all term “hate speech”? Hate speech is just so imprecise.

    1. “Hate speech…” The deceptive ability to redefine everything to make it convient to ignore evil and condemn good isn’t new, it’s one of the devil’s oldest tricks in the Bible.

Is it any wonder God wants us meditate on his words in the Bible? The “word of God” is our salvation NOT the words & definitions of people & their groups. God’s words override governments, rulers, protest movements, and everything else that deny’ s Christ & the Bible, this is also the reason why Christianity has been infiltrated & attacked to viciously.

If we look at the process of salvation*, it starts with a conviction of sin, examination of conscience, and a determination to turn from sin to God and a willingness to endure hardships on our way.

I think we all are convicted of the abject sinfulness of “our” institutions and wr are now in the examination of conscience stage abd the turning phade.

“Dear children! I am calling you at this time to prayer, fasting and renunciation, that you may be stronger in faith. This is a time of awakening and of giving birth. As nature, which gives itself, you also, little children, ponder how much you have received. Be joyful bearers of peace and love that it may be good for you on earth. Yearn for Heaven; and in Heaven there is no sorrow or hatred. That is why, little children, decide anew for conversion and let holiness begin to reign in your life. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

  29. Now that Trump is out it is safe to tell us this surprising “new” consensus on Covid-19. Seems immunity has been there all along and reinfections basically non-existent.
“Natural immunity after covid-19 infection appears to last for at least the one year in which the virus has been circulating at large. Extrapolating from research on the SARS and MERS coronaviruses, it could be much longer. In one study of 176 people infected with SARS, immunity lasted for an average of two years. Another long-term analysis of health-care workers previously infected with SARS found antibodies up to 12 years later. Protective antibodies for the MERS coronavirus have similarly been documented to last for at least three years. And while the 1918 pandemic was caused by an influenza virus, the immune systems of those infected were able to make antibodies to the virus nearly nine decades (90 years) later, a 2008 Nature study found.”

How will those who sit in our pews, yet oppose gospel teachings of marriage and procreation react to these horrors? I for one, can’t unsee or forget these stories and pictures. Another fact in researcher meddling was the introduction of an amphibian virus (ranavirus) and fungus (chytrid) into montane populations of rare amphibians around the world by “researches” studying them. They had been contaminating their equipment while collecting lower elevation species which are immune vectors and then transporting the virus/fungus up into the mountains and infecting those populations. At first the disappearances of the rare amphibians was blamed on poachers. Later, when the virus/fugus was discovered, it was blamed on global warming (and by many standards, it still is). Now we know they themselves spread the infections but this is NOT widely known by the general public and is NEVER admitted. I know because I work with these scientists and their wink/nod *new* protocols of disinfecting their equipment between collecting spots and them kicking themselves over this speaks volumes to what has occurred.

    1. I love these kind of jokes. I used to do a video news blurb with the school kids. We had a joke section with the kids telling the jokes. These are perfect! thank you.

        1. Yep, #6 is also funny. But I really, really hate slugs (especially when I find them on herbs or veggies that I have harvested and taken into the house), so my reaction to #6 was a bit muted. 🙂

Looking forward to the next batch of jokes!

I’m going to take a wild guess: Does your granddaughter hate spiders but not mind snakes?

    2. I really enjoy these and read them to my family when you post them.

I’m terrible at delivering jokes, can only pull it off if I have it right in front of me. My family groaned and laughed–in spite of me, aargh. I’m still amusing myself over the Dad joke (when it becomes apparent). My fav was one of the math ones….ooooh me bad for not copying it ’cause now I can’t remember….ooh.

I remember when I was much younger, readers digest always had a section called “Laughter is the best medicine”.
        I always loved that!!!
I was reluctant at first to post them, but because I’m a firm believer in the fact that laughter really is very healthy for people, especially in tough times (like in today’s world), I decided to post it.
With the positive feedback I’m getting, I plan to forward any others I receive as well, blessings, -kevin-

          1. Me too, Mick and Kevin! My family read “Readers Digest” for years but it changed– for one thing it seemed to morph in to mostly ads– I stopped the subscription a long time ago. I miss the sweet good ole days– that was definitely part of them.

  35. I’ve had a curious revelation lately, that I’ve been ponderring over:

“Whatever you have done to the least of your brothers you have also done on me.” Often a passage taken out of context to justify Marxist ideology that also flips morarily upsidedown to justify abortion & sodomy as good.

“Who are my bothers, sisters, & mother? My brothers, sisters, & mother are those who do the will of God.” This seems to put the first passage into proper context, as wickedness & immorality has to be opposed & revealed as evil. Our fellow non-God fearing/living human beings should get the minimum treatment of “neighbour”, but trusting them with the Christ’s pearls of salvation will cause them turn on and devour the faithful.

“I did not come to bring peace to the world, I bring the sword”

“Whoever loves their father, mother, son, daughter, etc… more than me is unworthy of me .”

There’s seems to be a greater emphasis on doing God’s will and helping others to do God’s will, with everything else being lower priority…

It comes down to forming a “correct” conscience. There aren’t tens of thousands of different Christian churches because we Christians have a linear thought process on biblical/traditional thinking. This helps explain the miriad of moral levels we see by those who profess Christianity.
As far as Catholics go, the term “cafeteria Catholic” comes to mind. Unfortunately, if you look hard enough, you can even find a priest to agree with your brand of faith and give you the green light to practice as you please.
The reality is, we don’t get it perfectly right until we are in heaven. Here, even the Apostle Paul struggled to keep the faith.
I believe God judges us on intent and fills in the voids as much as He can and we are willing.
But as Charlie has said, we still are held ultimately responsible for our shortcomings and failures even if, because of God’s interventions, our lives seem full and fruitful.
There is an old prayer that says:
…for my good works, which are all yours, and my bad works, which are all mine.
None of us will get out of here alive and unscathed. So we grope in the darkness hoping upon hope to “see the light” at the end of this life.
      So:
      Jesus, I Trust In You.

  36. What are we facing? Think of the Israelites in the desert. There will be no social security. There will be no grocery stores. There will be no nation of states as we now know it. There will be us, depending on the providence of God.

    1. Exactly and beautifully expressed, Kris. I continually see us in a contemporary Exodus. For now, I’m not afraid, yet, I’ll have my times of tears and fears and – by God’s Grace – press on. I delight in the pre-Exodus story as God fulfilled Moses’ foretelling of the plague of darkness. “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your hand toward heaven so that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness that can be felt.’ So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was dense darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days. People could not see one another, and for three days they could not move from where they were; but all the Israelites had light where they lived. (Exodus 10:21-23)

Oh how I wonder, with wonder, about the ways God will remain with us as we carry on! I was contemplating this morning how His Light is shining interiorly as we continue in this darkness. I had participated in an offering from Direction for Our Times last fall entitled, “Mothers of the Church.” And on this day, we began MOC Part II. It was wonderful to gather with women – from all over this country and distant shores while we were praying and discussing how we can exert our spiritual maternity to those around us. Laughter and tears, affirmation and counsel, charity and wisdom abounded. To me, this reflected true Trust in God and confidence in relying on His Providence.
