Abraham's Journey
By Charlie Johnston I have taken on a couple of intense projects so have been out of pocket for a week. Sorry. ******* For decades, the bulk of the movies and TV thrillers I watched invariably, in the end, revealed the bad guy to be, A) the businessman, B) an NRA member, C) a pro-life […]
Read More The World Turned Rightside Up – Short TakesBy Charlie Johnston On Easter of 2008, I saw the Lord at the Vigil. He said to me, “Now the hour of darkness comes upon the world, but be not afraid: the darkness will not prevail.” Whew, this has been one LONG hour! All who value the culture of life were deeply disheartened at Ireland’s […]
Read More The Blackest Minutes of the Hour of DarknessBy Charlie Johnston (I wrote this little poem after I heard the decision in Ireland. It is not polished – I completed it in an hour. But it is how I felt and what I hope) A Lament for Ireland ‘Twas the last wall to fall, As the earth’s axis shifted, To the Lord of […]
Read More A Lament for Ireland – And us AllBy Charlie Johnston Midweek I had a recurrence of an intestinal flu from a week ago. Kind of miserable and I don’t get much done. But I have a couple of observations that might be useful. ******* It was six years ago yesterday that my Mother passed on. The calendar that year was configured exactly […]
Read More Legacies – Short TakesBy Charlie Johnston Last Thursday I wrote that Rudy Giuliani’s lengthy interview with Sean Hannity on Wednesday night was the kickoff of the serious counter-attack by the Trump administration against the serial assaults of the Deep State’s coup attempt – that now the conspirators were going to be shocked to find themselves held to account […]

It was HUGE (or YUGE as a fellow big on the public scene might say). This is the beginning of President Trump’s serious assault on the Deep State. This, I think, may well be the month when […]
Read More Giuliani Launches Real Trump Counter-AttackBy Charlie Johnston No matter what Robert Mueller dredges up, I will stand with Donald Trump and the legitimately elected government. It wasn’t always that way. Two years ago, I opposed Trump; a year and a half ago, I regarded him with disdain; now I stand foursquare behind him, warts and all. That is because […]
Read More On the Bank of the Rubicon – Short TakesBy Charlie Johnston Little Alfie Evans has died. He died because the British National Health System and European Courts decided he must, regardless of his parents’ wishes and the willingness of Italy to give him actual treatment instead of killing him. Last year, it was little Charlie Gard. I love my faithful English friends, but […]
Read More Short Takes – England Restores the Death PenaltyBy Charlie Johnston Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore To effectively analyze where we are – as a nation, world or culture – the first thing one must firmly be clear on is the difference between a principle and a policy. A principle is a defining statement of what you believe and what […]
Read More The Ballad of the Ordinary Man – Part One, A Strange LandBy Charlie Johnston So much is going on in the world today, I thought I would occasionally write some “Short Takes” that cover several stories in between bigger articles. I got notice today that, among the top 300 conservative websites, we are number 272. I chuckled in surprise, especially seeing some sites I use for […]
