Waukegan, Illinois – On December 23, 2020, I wrote here that I thought the Covid Shots were likely to become the greatest medical disaster in modern history. My essay, “Embers in the Wind” is a fascinating read nearly five years later. In the first two paragraphs I vastly underestimated people’s tolerance for massive dysfunction, so I was way off base in how quickly and thoroughly I expected backlash to come. But my dissection of the sudden collapse of confidence in almost every institution undergirding modern life was downright prescient. As almost always, I got some of the timing wrong while getting almost all the substance right. Perhaps the key takeaway paragraph from the whole thing was, “When you politicize everything, everything becomes political and there are no longer any experts, only credentialed folks who are willing to prostitute their expertise to support a political narrative. Their time is almost over. Respect for “experts” with loads of credentials but no demonstrable expertise is in full-scale collapse.”
For all the sustained mewling of leftist politicians, commenters, and churchmen about what happened, if they really want to know, they need only read my piece from five years ago about what the result would be if they continued on their then triumphant course. It is, as many have observed, not their messaging, but their message. And their only answer is to double down, to scream louder, more violently, and with white-hot rage. Not much of a strategy for restoring all the confidence they have squandered by their angry incompetence and hubris. It is not going to get better for them.
Irrepressibly, word is shooting up on just how bad and dangerous the Covid shots are – even in the establishment press, which has fought desperately to hold this beachball of truth beneath the waves. Not working anymore.
The best summary of the current status comes from Jeff Childers’ marvelous blog, Coffee and Covid. (If you have never read it, you really should. It is a vital part of my ‘daily briefing.’) I am going to quote an extended excerpt from his column of last Saturday, May 3:
Four days ago, the most important covid shot study yet was published as a preprint on MedRxIV. It was blandly titled, “Twelve-Month All-Cause Mortality after Initial COVID-19 Vaccination with Pfizer-BioNTech or mRNA-1273 among Adults Living in Florida.” In a science-following world, this study would announce the beginning of the end, the great unraveling of the big “safe and effective” lie.
If there’s one thing —just one thing— a “safe and effective” vaccine absolutely shouldn’t do, it’s increase your odds of dropping dead. Death is not a side effect; that’s the reverse-opposite of vaccination. It’s like a parachute that “works great” until you pull the ripcord. Aieeeeeeee.
This week’s study was organized by co-author and Florida Surgeon General Joe Ladapo, a Harvard-trained M.D. and PhD. Impeccably credentialed MIT professor of statistics Retsef Levi also joined. They brilliantly scraped Florida’s Medicare database and compared the two jabs against each other, specifically, their risks of dying from any cause —“all-cause mortality”— and they found a statistically undeniable +40% risk of fatality following the Pfizer jab over Moderna.
In other words, hundreds of thousands more Floridians died in the 12 months following the Pfizer jab than Moderna, when there should have been no difference at all. Specifically, they found that +230 more people died after Pfizer for every 100,000 jabbed. Not only that, but Pfizer getters died from cardiovascular causes at a rate of +83 more often per 100,000.
The researchers were super careful to avoid leaving room for criticism. They started with known vaccinees, then excluded nursing home residents, the homeless, and people who died from violent causes (homicides and suicides). Then they took out people who got their shots more than six weeks apart (i.e., not as recommended), people who mixed shot types, people who got more than 2 shots, and people whose health records were incomplete (such as unknown gender). Finally, they separated people who died from covid.
Those left over included more than 9 million Floridians. I.e., it was a big sample. Then they matched recipients 1-to-1 based on their location (census tract), avoiding any potential regional differences.
It wasn’t even close.
The authors ultimately concluded that, “Florida adults who received the BNT162b2 COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer) in the initial series appear to have significantly higher risk of 12-month all-cause, cardiovascular, COVID-19, and non-COVID-19 mortality compared to mRNA-1273 recipients (Moderna).”
Pfizer’s Grim Reaper came most often for seasoned citizens. “When stratifying by age group,” the researchers wrote, “the increase in mortality risk was highest in adults 60 years and older.”
The genius of Ladapo’s study was to compare the two shots against each other. The data for those who were unvaccinated is completely unreliable, since doctors recorded anyone with “unknown” jab status as unvaccinated. But the state has very good data about who actually got the shots and then died, since hospitals and pharmacies were required to report detailed data for Medicare reimbursement, both for the original shots and then for the patients’ end-of-life care.
Simply put, comparing shots like-for-like surfaced a wide variety of deadly effects, at least for Pfizer. Though the study didn’t directly study the other shot, it remains reasonable to assume Moderna also increased death risk compared to non-vaccination, since the shots are so similar.
💉 And as bad as these results are, the truth is probably much worse. It only tracked deaths in the 12 months following the second shot, so we don’t know how high the totals are now. And it excluded people who took three, four, or more shots. It’s fair to assume that more shots don’t decrease people’s risk of death.
In other words, when it comes to mortality risk, this study’s results likely represent a floor, not a ceiling.
Death is binary. It’s not a PCR cycle. Folks either died or they didn’t. All-cause mortality is immune to narrative manipulation. You might well ask, why hasn’t the FDA already required long-term all-cause mortality studies for these products? The data is readily available. Post-marketing all-cause mortality studies are not common, but the speed at which the covid jabs were developed at warp speed and government mandates to take them aren’t common either.
If the Levi–Ladapo study is right, it implies catastrophic failure by the FDA for not requiring long-term safety data, the CDC for continuing to push boosters with no mortality data, the NIH for funding everything except what might challenge the narrative, and Big Pharma for withholding or obscuring adverse event data.
I couldn’t find a single corporate media mention about this study. The silence was deafening. As you know, media loves running headlines about weird studies linking things like “too much joy” to heart attacks and strokes. But this? Crickets. If Levi-Ladapo’s results showed that both shots had reduced 12-month mortality, that result would’ve been plastered across headlines within 24 hours and chirped three times on NPR before breakfast.
As I keep saying —and will keep saying— the steady drip of vaccine safety studies is pooling into a vast and rising lake of condemnation. At some point, that lake will be too deep for the guilty to wade across. They can tiptoe around the puddles now, but the water’s quickly coming up— and the truth will eventually drown them.
Shamelessly, the same “experts” and media which sold you this deadly ‘pig in a poke’ are still vainly insisting that if you do not believe whatever they tell you to believe, you are an idiot rube and a bumpkin. The truth is that all the rubes and bumpkins are the ones who still believe the idiot “experts” and media who care nothing about science, evidence, facts and truth – but only want to prop up their dead narratives. When anyone cockily tells me what MSNBC, CNN, or an expert told them, I hear them saying, “Aren’t the emperor’s new clothes marvelously stylish?”
But I do not write this to gloat over the truth that I told you way back at the beginning of this disaster. Many people, including many of my dearest friends, got at least one dose of the Covid shots. More than a few have told me that it troubled them because, as long as they have known me, almost every time I decisively and loudly contradict conventional wisdom, I turn out to be right. But they were trusting people and institutions that we used to be able to trust. They did nothing wrong. The institutions we used to be able to trust did. And now we can’t trust them – no matter how loud and condescending the creeps who have taken over those institutions are. Turns out that when you politicize everything, pushing a narrative that you’re smarter and nobler than everyone else at the expense of basic truth, nothing you say carries any weight any longer. Even the dullest folks are figuring out the media and “experts” cannot be trusted in today’s world. Soon enough, even the creeps running the big cons will figure out that the jig is up for them.
No, as bad as things are being revealed to be, as much as you have been “authoritatively” lied to (Is it a lie when the people pushing it are too stupid to be able to even recognize the difference between facts and their own narrative?), I write to remind you of God’s promise from Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Maliciously stupid people seek to dominate and ridicule their fellows though they, themselves, lack wisdom or discernment. Because He will not interfere with our free will, God does not stop us from being deceived by the empty show of the self-proclaimed “experts” for a time. But He arranges it so we may see the hollow cupidity at the core of the self-proclaimed experts’ claims – and return to Him and common sense. This episode in our history has been for our chastisement, refinement and purification; not our destruction.
Over three years ago I wrote this piece about the Brazen Serpent Prayer I had written. It was based on Moses and the Israelites extended sojourn in the desert. When many people got too big for their britches and decided they knew better than God, the Lord sent deadly vipers to afflict them. But God did not long for their destruction; rather, their reclamation. So, He had Moses mount a brazen serpent upon a pole. All who turned back to God in humility, were healed when they gazed upon it. I encourage you to read the article in the link, particularly if you are worried about consequences from the shot or from this man-made virus. At the time I published the piece, we did not yet have prayer cards for the prayer. Working with the Full of Grace Supply House, we did develop a prayer card for it. Full of Grace also produced a pamphlet for a Brazen Serpent Rosary in conjunction with Sr. Marie Ursula, head of CORAC’s Prayer Teams (or as we affectionately call her, Sr. Bear). CORAC makes no money from the sale of these items – there is no kickback. I’m not sure if Full of Grace does either, for the owner, Lisa Fixler, always gives me as many as I want to hand out along my travels. But they are available to you through Full of Grace.
As even the establishment press and corrupted doctors are being forced to admit how deadly and dangerous these shots are, remember that God does NOT want your destruction. He wants your reclamation. The decision is yours – as a friend once strikingly told me, “Choose or perish.”

Oh, and as I finish this piece, it is Sheen’s 130th birthday. (DOGE assures me that his remains are NOT still collecting Social Security.)

I am sorry that my writings here have been coming more slowly than they used to. Frankly, I am doing more than I ever have. I am hosting a couple of radio interview shows each month, Crosstalk, and doing a weekly radio commentary, From the Whirlwind, in a joint project between CORAC and WSFI Radio, the EWTN affiliate in Chicago. Also, Dr. Joe Brickner and I are taping two episodes of Corac’s Angels, each month, introducing you to CORAC leaders and members leading in their communities. I’m also doing quieter work to make America reliably politically conservative again, focusing on getting rid of red state RINO’s, defunding Planned Parenthood from the federal budget, finishing the manual, preparing for CORAC’s National Conference this summer in Atchison, Kansas, and generally trying to prepare the way for the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the opening of the great Era of Peace.
I have complained to the Lord that I am nearly 70, a time when a man should be slowing down, not speeding up. But I am convinced that this is the pivotal year in our great battle to renew the faith and face of the world. So I guess I will have time to rest when we reach the Era of Peace or when I pass from this world. Meantime, I am trying to establish a rhythm in the midst of all this extra activity to publish once every two or three days instead of once a week, as I have been. Pray for me as I pray for you.

The last world leader to be with Francis as his pontificate concluded was an American. Now, the new Pope IS American. You have expressed a leadership role for America yet to come, one in which we partner with God as each country and its particular charisms are restored.
Both you and our new Pope were raised in Chicago, Charlie. Pope Leo XIV was born on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. I pray he is transformed by the cross he now carries as we – with him – each member of the Church, return to the dictum to pick up our cross and follow Christ in this “consequential year.”
You recently highlighted the writings of Pope Leo XIII and I believe Pope Leo XIV chose his name carefully. Perhaps this reflects his admiration for the works of the previous Leos, as well as the intent to continue what God began in Leo XIII. Might this include the full flowering of the effect of all the times we’ve prayed the St. Michael prayer composed by Leo XIII (Today’s feast commemorates an apparition of St. Michael the Archangel on Mount Gargano in Italy.)? Might the Permanent Pentecost which St. Elena Guerra urged Leo XIII to invoke be synonymous with Pope John Paul II’s New Springtime, the Era of Peace promised by Our Lady at Fatima?
I don’t see how there could have ever been enough votes to elect either a very progressive Pope OR a fully orthodox one. We’re too polarized.
I do pray that Pope Leo XIV’s closeness to Pope Francis was founded on the good parts of Francis’ pastoral style rather than his errant twisting of the teachings of Christ. So much to yet to unfold, be known and understood…

Great reflection, Beckita – particularly the connection with the last Pope who chose the name Leo and his composition of the prayer to St. Michael Archangel. I was greatly heartened to see our new Holy Father use the traditional vestments for his appearance on the balcony – a subtle signal, I thought, of a new era yet in continuity with Tradition. Real humility – not the person but the Office.
And WOW!!! – the first Pope from your great country!!! My late uncle, who died tragically young at 50 in 1971, was an Augustinian also, and did one of his degrees back in the early 60s in Vilanova University, alma mater of our new H.F. I almost feel a family connection 😁

Ummm, to clarify: when I said my uncle died “tragically” it was actually of cancer. He was on the Irish Augustinian missions in Nigeria, the northern part. His station was in Maiduguri – now unfortunately subject to much violence from the “religion of peace”. It was still a British colony when he started there in the 50s – before they brought him back to do his doctorate in Vilanova. Then he went back. And stayed until the cancer hit and… I still have the Rosary beads he gave me for my Confirmation in 1970. Anyway, I’m sure he and the Augustinian Community in Heaven and on Earth are praying for our new Holy Father 🙏

We realized that our entire 180 pilgrims in Medjurgorje “happened” to all be on our knees in silent prayer just as the white smoke was released. We emerged from this powerful time of prayer to hear that our new Holy Father was about to be revealed.
Like most of you, we did not expect this. And so, we quickly did our best to familiarize ourselves with him.
This means, I am no where near to be considered an expert on this man. I am still doing my best to learn more about him.
What I have learned so far, gives me great hope. While he seems to have remained quiet (layed low) on many controversial issues coming out of the Vatican, he seems to have indicated opposition on some of the most troubling issues. I’ve heard he is a staunch Republican and fervently pro-life. Also, I am hearing that his personal choice for his private Masses is the Traditional Latin Mass.
I am hopeful that this quiet man will courageously lead us to deeper faith and fervent evangelization by advocating truth and transcendence.
Please, let’s pray for our new Holy Father and give him a chance!

So glad you posted, Charlie, with lots of thoughts swirling. Yes, there are lots of truth tellers able to speak now, and I’m grateful for all of them, including Health Freedom Summit and all their emails and exposures. There are many doctors and researchers who don’t get the recognition they deserve. I admire Dr. Ardis, who does more research than anyone I’ve ever seen in my life. He found those who contrived the “vaccine”, told us all about it and the “snake venom” comparison. Maybe that’s why you wrote the Brazen Serpent prayer!
Agreed, Beckita, there’s lots of symbolism today. One of my first thoughts was of Leo XIII and his encyclicals, not just Rerum Novarum, but on Freemasonry as well as socialism!

Absolutely, Annie. “Rerum Novarum” should still be a milepost for us in these days, besieged by modernism, freemasonry and socialism – they never change, all essentially the same thing, as deadly now as they were back then.
Still, as Charlie posited in his last post, their era saw its culmination in the century from 1917, just passed, the 100 years of power given to Satan (I do agree about that), and they’re now in the death-throes, albeit still deadly and lashing out.
How much of a connection is there to a Holy Father who has again taken the name of Leo?

A very good source of information from a medical point of view is “A Midwestern Doctor” on Substack. He has been very instrumental on educating about how vaccines work and exposing the dangers of the covid shots. He also exposed how doctors were treating a chronic condition Lambzie had for 7 years and had been hospitalized many times too. Getting off certain meds solved the issue litterally overnight. I am highly skeptical of the medical establishment at this point.In regards to the jab, I knew something was wrong when the sister of one of our storm dinner attendees died 2 weeks after taking the jab. My brother who is a bastion of health got DVTs after the jab. He now calls it the clot-shot. Seeing folks I know die and the government and media openly lie about the jabs was a wakeup call for us on how corrupt the previous administration was. Upon learning of Pope Leo XIV being a Whitesox fan from an interview with his brother, our deepest heartfelt sympathy immediately goes out to all of those who are a Cubs fan. Should’ve realised those who take the name Leo tend to be a bit traditionnel. It seems a very influential anonymous cardinal from New York has betrayed the Yankees and his own Brewers. Then again his motto is “to whom shall we go”. Apparently his good friend Robert from Chicago. Aside from that Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost or His Holiness Pope Leo XVI is full of many extraordinary coïncidences. The entire Church (and the Americans in particular)have received a great gift from the Heavenly Father, may it bring forth much great fruit.

Charlie, I appreciate that you mentioned The Brazen Serpent Prayer Rosary, available both online in a video format and also in a printed brochure through our friends at Full of Grace USA. Many CORAC members/volunteers responded to the concept early on and contributed to the content.

“Received from a trusted friend yesterday who was doing work before the Conclave: “Total shock. Not good. I just don’t know what to think. I was in Rome for two weeks and I thought we had him blocked. I really feel like I failed. I guess the numbers were just stacked.”
The new Pope was a newly minted Cardinal and in Peru for a long time so I know nothing about him. Personally, I hope he’ll bring a deeper understanding of the vital role the economy and business play in human flourishing. Work is not just a means of survival; it’s a core part of who we are as persons made in the image of the Creator. A stronger appreciation for and understanding of rightly ordered economics, treated as a primary concern, would be a meaningful improvement over the prior pontificate as Francis was no fan of even rightly ordered capitalism. The next level would be promoting economic systems rooted in human nature and aimed at the full actualization of body, mind, and spirit.
The last pope named Leo, Pope Leo XIII, was a pathfinder. Through Rerum Novarum, he laid the foundation of modern Catholic social teaching by affirming the dignity of labor, the right to private property, and the need for just economic structures. He led the Church into serious engagement with economic life into the 20thCentury.
I hope this 14th Leo will carry the torch of the 13th forward. A deeper and more dynamic theology of work and economics, ordered toward full human flourishing, could help properly orient Catholic social thought and lead the world to a fuller understanding of economic life, grounded in truth, for this new millennium.
People of faith should be leading the way in technology and entrepreneurial business. We are the people of the Resurrection. From the first pages of Scripture, we are given the responsibility to be stewards (Genesis 1:28). Christ the King upped the ante when He said, “Behold, I am making all things new” (Revelation 21:5). God desires to make all things new, not merely to mind the shop. We are His instruments. The better we can grasp that truth, the more we will live in truth, find real meaning and fulfillment, and take up our burden daily to create. With Leo XVI being an American, I sure hope he understands this and reinforces it.”

CD, the post from MILINET confused me. Was he saying that Cardinal Prevost was voted in over another “sure thing” or that they tried to block his election and he got in anyway? I wasn’t sure if they were happy or upset about Cardinal Prevost getting elected…

I am still hopeful (and praying hard!) for Pope Leo to be faithful to the Magisterium and being obedient to God’s will. (I heard that obedience to his superiors was one of his virtues…there is no other superior than God as the Pope! 😁)

Charlie, when it comes to you posting less or more frequently, I am of mixed feelings.
Every time you post, I have to read the post and then spent time and effort archiving it, so that side of me says once a week is fine. Yet I know everyone here, including myself, is addicted to “Charlie writings” and if they don’t appear regularly and frequently, we can all get pretty strung out. 😀
Just to reassure you, we know you are very busy, so for me anyway, post when you can, and that’s fine.
We all are assuredly waiting for your post on our new Pope and whether he is going to get run out of office quickly or is the Pope of the Storm.

I hope pope Leo XIV will lead the charge against the communism 2.0 like pope John Paul II lead the charge against the soviet era communism. There are similarities between the two popes. It was unthinkable that a pope would be elected from Poland, and now it was commonly assumed that pope couldn’t be from the USA. Both have similar facial expressions. Both were close to the people, one a missionary, the other to the faithful under the communist regime…
It might be a transitory pope though and the next one might lead a more forceful charge, hint: a seagull by the Sistine Chapel chimney lol, should have been a dove, hey a seagull is like half dove.
Pope nevertheless seems to be promising, voted in Republican primaries, a baseball fan. And what an irony, the greatest man coming from Chicagoland might not be Obama anymore.
