You Can’t Go Home Again

By Charlie Johnston

I noted a few columns back how much I love the rising new musical trio of sisters, the Castellows. In reading comments to their videos, a constant theme is people begging them not to let their rising fame mess them up and turn ugly. The three women are strikingly lovely, projecting wholesomeness. Their music is built on enchantingly melodious themes focused on everyday life and assuming traditional, down-home values. But in reading the multitude of comments desperately asking that they not let fame spoil them I sense a great, even desperate, hunger across the land for the normalcy and joy that once marked our culture in America.

The things we argue about are such idiocies that they would have been dispatched in a day as nonsense 30 years ago. We should not waste a moment of time having to defend normalcy from absurdities. Yet, it is all we do. The leftist feds argue that printing money out of thin air is “modern monetary theory” and is the path to prosperity even as the economy tanks harder and harder. William Kunstler argues that we no longer have an economy, just a virtual economy. As with all things virtual, when the lights go out, all things virtual go with it. A dear friend mentioned to me yesterday that Saudi Arabia has now joined the fight to displace the dollar as the world’s default currency. I laughed and mentioned all the other countries in on that, I take it as a given that the dollar will be displaced.

The establishment media shamelessly and knowingly lies about everything, apparently hoping that by their brazenness they can force reality to comport with their fantasies. According to the left, weaponizing the law against opponents, releasing violent criminals, handcuffing police, and disarming victims is surely the way to peace and prosperity. A bright elementary school child knows better, but we waste time arguing about these absurdities as if there actually were two sides to these nonsensical issues. Kurt Schlichter, with horror, realizes how dangerous this nonsensical state of affairs is. Just last week, the FDA was forced to settle with Dr. Pierre Kory and company for its lies and suppression of Ivermectin. The FDA, CDC, AMA, and the establishment media lied about Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine – and people died.

When the atheist left’s toxic fantasies are exposed for the lies they are and the harm they do, they just double down and lie harder and more shrilly. Their problem, of course, is that the harder and more brazenly they lie, the more normal people wake from their somnolent hope that this will pass and say, “Wait a minute…” Confrontation has been building visibly for a decade or more. We are perilously close to it. The division is no longer between Republican and Democrats, or between Judeo-Christian acolytes and the resurgent pagan forces; it is between the sane and the insane.

A huge problem is that the insane no longer have any limiting principle. They will do – and justify – anything to hold onto power.  Their constant lies have only tanked their credibility. Their lawfare against, most prominently, Donald Trump, but also concerned parents, pro-lifers, and the religious have backfired, convincing more and more each day that these activists have no honor at all. These are people who, just a few years ago, wished death or concentration camps on all who would not buy into their Covid dictates. Do you really think they are going to accept looming defeat peacefully? Rule or ruin is their only imperative. I expect to see a lot of false flag operations ahead (leftists masquerading as conservatives) committing real violence to destabilize and terrify the population. Both Democrats and most Republicans now behave as if elections are contests to determine who will rule us. America was founded on the principle that the people rule with ordered liberty under objective law, equally applied to all. Left on its own trajectory, this can only end in subjugation of the population or a violent clash.

There is another temporal factor, though: the rank incompetence of the modern left. All the ‘phobes, fascists, racists, blah, blah, blah,’ is just the cloud of ink these leftist squids spew to try to hide and justify that incompetence. But incompetence has consequences, as you can tell by looking at our economy, our violent crime rates, the instability of the world with the rising tides of war, and the growing global march of Islamic Jihad – with the help of our federal government. (By the way, I am well aware that the idiot media is peddling the notion that crime has been going down under Biden. They accomplish this illusion by, A – redefining many property crimes as no crime at all and, B – only using FBI statistics knowing full well that a huge swath of the highest crime cities have quit reporting statistics to the FBI at all. More lies.)

All of the godless left’s dreams and conspiracies are likely to come to a sudden, screeching halt when America is hit with the largest coordinated terror attack in history. That will likely be supplemented with simultaneous attacks on our critical national infrastructure – the power grid, rail choke points, critical bridges…and our vain participation trophy rulers will have no defense or ability to mount a comeback. At that point, even much of their gallery of clapping seals will start to wake up and say, “Wait a minute…” Even if the clapping seals keep clapping, ordinary Americans will put an end to the fully discredited leftist dominance in our country. Alas, it could trigger a replacement of the authoritarians from the left with authoritarians from the right (and I am NOT talking about Donald Trump here). I suspect that will likely be the end of the dominance of the seriously mentally disturbed that we live under now. However it plays out, we are in for a VERY rough ride this year.

Many people think we are in danger of losing our republic. I am not. I think we have already lost it and are just playing out the terminal phase. This is why things like my little singing trio evokes such powerful nostalgia. We long for the days when our society was not dominated by moonbat crazy psychos. That was the home we were born into. But it is gone. And we can’t go home again – because it is not there anymore. That is the reason I formed CORAC. The old is dead. For good or ill, we will have to build the new. I do not trust any of the ruling class to do that for the benefit of anyone but themselves. I do trust ordinary men and women, with the memory of a joyful society that worked still in them, and a commitment to the Judeo-Christian ethic that built prosperity, liberty, and brotherhood under God to withstand the evil machinations of the self-serving ruling class. Join us – and let’s renew the face and faith of the world together, under God.

I hear more talk than usual about the eclipse that is coming on Monday, April 8. I venture no interpretations of it for now. But I am going to go into the mountains at St. Malo near the foot of Mt. Meeker. I will be in prayer and contemplation from Noon to three. I will give no talk or presentation. I just want to pray at this site that is so meaningful to me.

If communication goes out for any length of time, meet outside your local Church at 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings. Tell friends at Church now in case you can’t then. CORAC teams will be out looking for people to gather in and work with.

  1. Charlie, My intellect thanks you for this brilliant review of life in America today as the evil insanity of the Left, led by Brandon, AOC (even though dumb as a box of rocks), Schumer (who stupidly sold out for a few extra votes in Michigan), and Pelosi (who enriched her family with insider trading information)– just a few example) crusades for a new Constitution written to establish their new world order.

Given your accurate assessment of our sad state of affairs, I’m tempted to be depressed. However, knowing that we live our mortal lives here as a testing ground that provides opportunities for spiritual development, I further resolve to honor God’s mission for us to live on Earth, however bad life appears.

Lately, I’ve taken to watching WWII historical movies, many of which portray how the Gestapo and SS leaders gleefully tortured millions to death. If this mortal life we see only with our physical eyes were all there were to existence, then the damnably foolish hard scientists who proclaim that life is the result of a Godless statistically random evolution, would be right. But they are provably wrong. So, we may instead buckle up to live out a hopeful life knowing God has everything under control, however bad this world appears to be turning.

  2. It is really hard to believe how quickly things have accelerated into the Surreal. Oh, I feel it was planned, for sure.  It is also very hard to accept the strange state of the Vatican and all the shocking pronouncements. May Christ have mercy upon us all.

  3. Brother Charlie,

I believe that a more accurate word to describe the “left” is the “evil left” especially the official evil democrat party. Using that more accurate term goes directly to the earthly battle between the “powers and principalities” that St. Paul referred to. And if there ever has been a time when evil vs good has manifested itself in such morbid terms in mankind’s history, other than when Christ suffered during his passion and death, when even the angels had been withdrawn by God from earth because of mankind’s horrible atrocity of putting to death His innocent pure Lamb of God, it is now. We truly our in the greatest battle between evil vs good, light vs darkness, love of God vs love of Satan. Suffice it to say, using political terms to describe true evil is a trap that Satan uses to trip up even such erudite and special messenger of Jesus as you are blessed by our Lord to be.

Thank you for your continued work and blessings to you on the mountain top where you will be filled with that which is right, true and lovely in Jesus Christ As Lord and Savior.

    JCALAS FOREVER!

    Your brother in Jesus

  5. Charlie this is an awesome piece! I’m sharing it like crazy with friends and I seem to be making a lot of new friends these days in my neck of the woods😂🥰🙏. God is awesomely at work over here!

Stevebc I need some advice from you! lol 😂 I trust your judgement on these things. Is Semsc selenium the same as selenium? I’m having a little trouble finding the Semsc but I think I remember you saying to get that one??? Also…Jax now 2 1/2 is getting bug bites on his belly when he stays over night in his room. Mike and I want to spray for spiders 🕷️ but we don’t want to expose this dear little one to anything toxic. I’ve looked on many sites and some of my region 6 has given me different ideas like ozone generators but I thought maybe you might know of a concoction that would be safe and effective? I feel so bad sending him home all bit up on his belly but it’s sort of a mystery because Mike n I don’t get bites and they only bite his belly😂😂😂. If they were only one or two bites I wouldn’t worry but there are usually 6 to 8 and they increase with each night he stays over🤔

Ps how are you doing Stevebc??? How’s mom doing??? God bless you ahead of time and I know you’re enjoying this solemn Holy Week (as much as we can – I think it’s a time for a natural sadness)

    1. Linda, thank you for asking about my mother. She is stable and has been for the past several months. She is objectively much diminished in capacity compared to her past abilities, yet even so, most of the time she is either calm or happy. We still clown around (well, I do) and then we share laughs and smiles. Those who help her in the mornings are simply wonderful.

Linda, I’ve never heard of “Semsc” selenium. My bottle calls it Seleno Excell. You can find what I use here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006TFBNNI

As for the bites on Jax’s belly, I would recommend two actions.

First, the obvious one, make up a completely new bed using new cushions/mattress, sheets, pillow – *nothing* from his current bed, inc are his bed in infested. Then put him in a different room, well away from his normal bedroom. See if he gets the bites again. If he doesn’t, then either his regular room or his bedding is infested and will need to be treated. If they do appear in the new room on the new bed, then he may be getting bitten before he goes to bed, wherever he is in the evening before bed should be examined. If it’s only in his old bedroom on his old bedding, keep him separate from the old stuff and keep the old stuff in the old room until you know what the bug is and how to treat it.

Second, I know that if you go online and ask for pictures of typical bug bites, you should be better able to identify the actual type of bug biting Jax. Here’s an example, but you can look at many others online: https://www.prevention.com/health/g33011148/common-bug-bite-pictures/

Once you have identified the bug, you will have a much better idea what to do. For bed bugs, look online for a holistic bed bug pest control/elimination service. There are some good non-toxic ways to rid a house of them. Chiggers come from playing in the dirt, so he may be picking them up outside before bed, and if so, he will have bites even on the new bedding and in the new room if he is getting them from outside. If you find out it’s chiggers, a soapy hot bath before bed might eliminate the problem for him while you see if there is a non-toxic area treatment for the outside area. If you find out it is fleas, they can be outside like chiggers and be brought in. However, I would think if it were fleas, everyone would be having issues everywhere. If it’s spiders, cleaning the room is the first step, then perhaps some sticky spider traps in the closets, though I would be surprised if it were spiders doing this – I don’t think it’s their style. Overall, I tend to use diatomaceous earth powder for many different bugs – just don’t leave the powder where Jax can sample it, though it is generally non-toxic to humans. If the bedding and linens used on his bed are old, and new bedding keeps him from having this problem, I would assume the old bedding and mattress are contaminated and would throw every bit of it away and clean the entire room thoroughly before moving him back to the room with the new bedding.

There are many holistic therapies for bug bites. Some respond to a slurry of Vitamin C, while others to a slurry of sodium bicarbonate (both alter the pH). When I get bitten by a mosquito or bee, I take Apis mellifica, Ledum Palustre, and Hypericum orally and slather StingStop over the bite itself (sometimes it takes two applications 15 minutes apart to get real relief, then whenever itching restarts). I think putting a piece of ice on a bite can help, too.

I would never use Pharma drugs like hydrocortisone, but that is a matter of taste.

I hope this helps and I recommend you do some research! 🙂

      1. Steve I’m so very sorry to hear your mom is much diminished in in capacity and yet so happy to hear that she is still with us and that you two are still sharing laughs and smiles!!! I know it’s very heart to watch the aging process of our loved ones! Gosh how I’ve been there too many times myself 😫. Your mom is very blessed to have you as a good and faithful son !!!

Steve all your info from the Semsc to what to do for Jax is amazing!!! I’m going to print all your advice out and go through the list and try with the help of you and God to figure this out!!! lol 😂

He just left again last night after a few nights stay and so far I didn’t see any new bites. What did I do differently? I changed my clothes soap ?!?! Hmmm 🤔 time will tell!

I never thought of bed bugs because Mike and I haven’t traveled since Covid 2021 but we have had guests in that room so it’s always a possibility. We don’t have dogs so I never thought of flees but Jax has two dogs so he may have brought them on his clothes??? We do have farm fields behind our home and when we can, we’re outside for pretty much the whole day. I do give him a bath each night before bed! He loves to play with water and bubbles!!!

Thank you again Stevebc!!! I’m going to go and get busy on identifying the bite right now!!!

I knew you were the right man to ask for help!!! Thank you!! 🙏

        God bless you Stevebc!!! 🥰👼🙏⛪️🥳

Kurt Schlichter’s piece in Townhall is both scary to think about, and a very sober reminder that we’re not in Kansas anymore!

  7. About the eclipse,

I always pondered the 3 hours of darkness during the crucifixion. Some claim it to have been a solar eclipse but today I heard that the Passover was always celebrated during a full moon. It’s not possible for a solar eclipse to happen during a full moon as the sun and moon are on two different sides of the earth then.

Solar miracles are fairly regular in God’s arsenal. The first was the introduction of the rainbow. Then Jashua stopping the sun’s trek. Then Calvary, Fatima, and the many solar events at Medjugorje. And now an interesting one at Kibeho.

“On November 30, 1982, Agnes Kamagaju, one of the seven main seers at Kibeho, claimed to have a message from Jesus warning they should not seek “too much after signs” because the sign He gave might be something unnerving.

Immediately after, the stars and moon suddenly blinked out, over this impoverished African village, putting thousands who’d attended the apparition in utter darkness and groping for torches.”

  8. Wish the Castellows brother would have joined his sisters to add another dimension to their harmony. Wasn’t impressed by their song Hurricane which has a phrase “devil’s daughter“. I like to sing along to country songs when I’m by myself in the car or at home. Not about to give homage three or four times throughout the song specially during lent even if it is just speaking metaphorically about the river.

But their sound will eventually mature into the depth of -say, exhibit A-The Forester Sisters Christmas album.

    1. I understand…you don’t want to cede an inch to the devil. I, on the other hand, do not mind deadly and dangerous features of nature being called the “devil’s…whatever.” I think it underscores the danger. I am not amused, however, when high school football teams and such use a ‘devil’s’ moniker.
