  4. It’s a Day of Festival in Heaven and on earth!!! And these are not just feast days but Solemnities!! 🙂 Those justices who are Catholic must surely know the significance of releasing the official document on this day.

    I love that not only did John leap in his mother’s womb when he first met up with his cousin, THE MESSIAH, but John also was a martyr for True Marriage as God designed it to be and His Holy Word proclaims it. This, to me, is a harbinger that so called “same sex marriage” is soon to come tumbling down from the new and modern day Tower of Babel.

    The ripple effect throughout the world as we rebirth a Culture of Life has only just begun. Rejoicing aplenty and living days filled with unending prayers of thanksgiving to God, even while praying in reparation for the years when too many have wept as Ramah. Seeking new measures of grace for setting our faces like flint as the absolute rage of the enemy will hiss and howl in all manner of ugliness to come. There will be martyrs and, by God’s grace, we shall not fear to press forward in truth and in proactive ways to deter the gates of hell with humans cooperating with evil spirits and acting as if the illusion were possible that they can take down the Catholic Church. We stand on God’s Promise: never shall evil forces prevail against it. But we must rise up and partner with Him to live it honorably, rather than waiting for some sort of magical god to make it happen. May our will submit and unite to His Will as He leads onward.

        1. Hah, Littlelight: in my youth I used to vote for the Labour Party (i e. socialist-lite back then, now very heavily so) as I was a bit carried away by all the hopey-carey-sharey-huggy b.s. And this at a time when the Iron Curtain was still very much a thing and the reality of socialism could be seen. And we all knew about it, anyway – in theory. It was only when I got to cross the Berlin Wall that reality finally dawned.

          Yet, in a way, I supported Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan also. I was a mixed-up young dude back then.

          And thank God I never actually stopped being Catholic – even if that was also a bit on the lite side at times… 😔

            1. I can only imagine, Charlie. You, too, have laid down your life for this day. Blessed be God in you and in all who have prayed and worked – whether publicly, when needed, or privately behind the scenes – faithfully pressing onward, believing that nothing is impossible with God, no matter how impossible it seemed at times.

              It does not escape my pondering that this decision declared by the highest legal authority in the land (causing a spiritual earthquake felt round the world… and yet, just as in Bethlehem at Christ’s birth, most cannot see, feel or discern it) is a mighty act of both reparation and mitigation, opening up formerly blocked avenues for God’s blessings to rain down upon us. What a day extraordinaire, even as we carry on in all the ordinary ways needed to address that wood which MUST be chopped in this transition of building a true civilization of Love.

              2. I, too, sense the opening up of formerly blocked avenues for God’s blessings. Thinking about recent events in the Church in our nation, I wonder if Archbishop Cordileone’s actions set into motion Heaven’s response, as seen through the Supreme Court reversing the 1973 abortion decision on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Alleluia!!! No coincidences.

                1. In my mind, Judy, I think we have seen and been part of God answering the prayers, sacrificing and good works of the many, the ordinary people around the world. I think of the co-founders who poured out their hearts in prayer around a table and become inspired to launch 40 Days for Life in America in 2004 and it now has a presence internationally in 60 countries. I think of people like Fr. Richard Heilman who spearheaded the Rosary Coast to Coast prayer initiative and the resounding response by the little ones all over this land who gathered to pray for an end to abortion. Only God knows the number of prayers groups and prayer teams who have been praying unceasingly over the years, the Masses and hours of Adoration offered, the fasts and sacrifices all offered for an end to the madness and evils of abortion. Too, there are the many who were/are dedicated to sidewalk ministry at abortion centers and the many care centers, faithfully reaching out for years and years to minister to frightened and confused women. The incredible persistence of people like David Daleiden and Lila Rose and the people behind the scenes, such as Charlie, supporting, counseling and accompanying them as, particularly, David has endured intense persecution. And even before these, here’s a pic of the Seven Founders of the March for Life: Nellie Gray and Eillen Vogel at the forefront, Peggy Jacocks, Mary Ann Pierce, Bill Devlin, Lew Gardner, and John Mawn… many of whom experienced yesterday’s officially announced victory from their Heavenly vantage place. We’ll always need leaders for major challenges and those leaders will thrive when the hearts and sweat of the many unite in solidarity for Truth and Goodness. May all those who died while still engaged in the work intercede for us who remain to continue chopping the wood of building/birthing a culture of life which defends, promotes, proclaims and fosters every Gospel value in the culture.

    My Glee was dampened a bit when I learned The Rest of the Story!

    Chief Justice Roberts was weasel and did not join the majority, writing in a concurring opinion that he would not have overturned Roe but instead would have only uphold Mississippi’s law banning abortions after 15 weeks.
    So it is essentially a 5-4 Decision that exposes Roberts as a DC Swamp Creature and quite willing to encourage the Radical Left to continue THEIR Rage Campaign and endanger the lives of Conservative Justices/Families!

    Little time to celebrate as more Prayers & Vigilance required till The Good-Guys Win BIG!!!

    I am utterly thankful that the Court released the conceal carry ruling before the Dobbs case. I’m in New York and it will hopefully make some of the unhinged stop and think twice before causing mayhem.

    Like others here, I love that it was decided today, on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is also normally the date of the Feast of Saint John the Baptist. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Catholic justices knew this when deciding upon the date.

    The leaked version of the opinion is well-written, well-reasoned, and sane. (I haven’t yet investigated to see if today’s final version is the same as the leaked version.)

    2. Actually, the final opinion IS different from the leaked draft. For one thing, it addresses the “concurrence” written by Chief Justice Roberts ~ and does a good job of explaining why there are “serious problems with this approach” (see pages 81-84 and 172-173). This means I’ll (willingly) need to read the whole thing. 🙂

      1. Katey, after our younger son died, our older son took us on two trips to Rainer, Olympic Peninsula and the North Cascades. Truly, God’s Country—so vastly beautiful. I remember seeing 99.9% Trump signs as we were making the long drives from Seattle to Stenhekin.

        On one trip the whole Pacific NW was burning—so that may qualify as a major catastrophic event. Anyways, the Good, in people and lands, are worth fighting for. I don’t like the idea of a throw-away anything, even though I get how the evil, corruption and hubris is intolerable.

        There won’t be peace until all minds/hearts are overcome with repentance and the need for sackcloth and ashes. May we all be found worthy and useful in these perilous times.

I thought that maybe I had developed a bit of a protective shell, but that is definitely not the case. I am horrified to see bits and pieces of this “family”event.   39. There is another interesting detail in Friday’s announcement that I ran across. SCOTUS began releasing decisions at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24. The decision to overturn Roe v Wade was released at 10:10 a.m. John 10:10 says, “A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” The details about this day, beyond what the justices may have planned, certainly show God’s mighty hand at work.
