Prayer Requests

Praying Hands with Beads
Praying Hands with Rosary Beads and Dove

On this page, readers are invited to send in their prayer requests. I will leave requests up for nine days. All readers are invited to pray for those who ask for it and any who want to offer a word of comfort are invited to do so, as well. May we work together to mutually build each other up and support each other in times of trial.

  1. Thank you for all your prayers.

I have an in-person interview at a nursing home in Wyoming next week!!!!! 150 residents with rehabilitation and a
    Dementia unit and a nearby
    6-bed hospice.

This work is my dream job!
I’ve got butterflies in my stomach I can barely contain myself. Ugg. 😣

    Please pray that,
if it’s God’s will and a good fit, that I get the job!

I so much want the reassurance of having employment lined up and to be at a place and with people I love to work!

    St Joseph,
    Patron of those who labor,
    pray for us!

  2. You all may remember that some weeks ago, I request prayers for my buddy Loren, who had a transplant surgery cancelled as being “nonessential” during lockdown. Well, he’s having his surgery tomorrow. Please keep him in your prayers; and please also pray for the organ donor, whoever he/she may be.

  3. I hate to ask again but I’m having such a hard time with depression. Could you please pray for healing for me? Thank you. I keep you all in my daily rosary. God bless.

    1. I have been inundated these last few weeks with calls and emails from people telling me how depressed or frightened they are. I understand. I get that way sometimes myself – but the way for me is twofold: when I am weary, I rest for a time. If you have a sprained ankle, you get off of it for a while that it may heal and not get worse. I think the same approach works best for a sprained spirit. Then when I feel strong enough, I get up and walk – and that drives depression and fear awway.

      1. Thank you. Am trying to reach out and get out now to keep going. One day at a time. Will take that break. It is good advice. Thank you. Thanks Beckita and Hand to the plow.

        God bless you all.

      2. Thanks Charlie for the insight. I wish there was a magical way but there isn’t. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Blessings to you and all those that are a part of this. Somehow your prayers and insight help to reassure me. Praying for strength and wisdom. Our Blessed Mother guide us we pray. Amen

    2. Hi Cheri-I can add a bit more now. I go up and down especially when I was younger with hormones. One thing that really helps me is to turn up Christian music and sing wholeheartedly, giving thanks and praise to God. For me it stopped the negative stinking thinking and singing released endorphins. Here is just one of the songs from MercyMe with lyrics. https://youtu.be/B6fA35Ved-Y

      1. One of the most important and hardest lessons for me is that it is ok to reach out and ask for support and love. We probably all have a little of that fear (of reaching out). We maybe expect others to have an answer and just their presence is the answer. So thank you for responding. God is right there in the midst…. (I also reached out to relatives and acquaintances) and the Blessings are coming. Amen. I see the blessing that I am also…

  4. Thank you to all who prayed for my brother Martin. He is doing better and finally the visiting restrictions were eased today so that his wife could sit with him. Still a ways to go and has to have all 4 chest drain tubes removed before able to go home. There was a small hole somewhere in his throat leaking which caused a whole slew of problems. Thank God for CT’s and all other inventions.

  5. Please pray for my daughter who left today (7-5-2020) to go to Mexico for a very risky medical procedure that she hopes can cure her lupus. Due to Covid 19, nobody could travel with her to this hospital. Please pray that she stays safe and that she comes back to us in August 2020. And that God will spare her life, and if it his will, that she be cured. Please pray also for the conversion of her heart while she is down there. She needs to come back to her Catholic faith. Thank you so much for your prayers.

  6. Everyone, please pray for Marion and Leah and their family. They are neighbors of mine. This morning, their 4-year-old son, Jared, passed away from brain cancer; and an hour later, Marion’s grandfather passed away from an illness. Marion and Leah have six other children.

      1. Thank you, Jen. They are an Amish family; they are people of deep faith, and both the Amish community and the “English” community have rallied around them. But oh, how heavy their hearts must be.

  7. Please pray for my sister-in-law Janet who is dying. On Monday, they moved her into comfort care in a hospice facility. I just found out about it. Thank you for your prayers. (I am so upset I can’t remember how to post this on Spiritual Hospice.)

      2. Beckita, thank you for your prayers for Janet. Her hospice is in the Houston area and I have heard nothing since my brother texted the change in care. Family issues have always contributed to a lack of communication and now the virus would make it nearly impossible. I have been praying for Janet and my brother that he will tell us something and that she will have a peaceful death. I am so grateful for all the prayers from here because I just think that I can’t pray enough for them. Bless all here.
And thanks be to whoever put Janet on Spiritual Hospice. I just forgot how to send the request.

    1. Joyful, I’m so sorry. I will pray for Janet and for your entire extended family. And I will contact Patrice at Spiritual Hospice and ask her to pray for Janet.

      1. So it was you, Mick 🙂 I haven’t gotten far enough down the comment list. Thank you so much. I guess I didn’t think that I would have a need for Spiritual Hospice yet and my poor brain drew a complete blank. Knowing that Janet was being remembered in prayer at Spiritual Hospice gave me so much relief–like I wasn’t alone in pleading for her.
Thank you so much for praying for her.

  10. My 94 year old Mom was brought to the hospital yesterday after a bout with diarrhea. We think it was because she ate too many cherries at once. However my 2 sisters couldn’t lift her and sitting in the bathroom so long her legs gave out. She is a devotee of the Rosary and St. Briget prayers and her life is praying for us all. She had a vision earlier this week where she saw my deceased Dad.

We hope she can receive the sacraments, that she doesn’t need to go to a nursing home and can return to her home (she is in her own home) and that she is surrounded with God’s love and peace. My sister who is her main caregiver is distraught. I’d like to see Mom, but don’t know if I’d be a hindrance or not. They are far from me. There are many complexities. Thank you all!

      1. Thank you so much, Mick!
The latest word is the hospital won’t release her unless she has 24/7 care. So far she’s been able to manage in her own home with my siblings extreme help and an emergency button. She is practically crippled by osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis, but has been mobile.

So I’m guessing the hosp thinks she’s stable enough (This is good! And was our guess—too many cherries, LOL) but now my Sistas are scrambling to figure out ?which direction, and ?what are options. My Mom won’t be happy with any of the choices—she likes her privacy, ugh. It’s worriesome for us all. And I can only do very little except pray, which since I was first able as a small child I dedicated my prayers for everyone It feels like my hands are empty, ugh.

      1. Thank you so much, Jen! Your prayers are helping!
Mom is home but there is now much bureaucracy and some hostile peeps to navigate through to get her more care. I have gladly taken on this task. My Sistas are v. kind and saying it’s my forte. Haha, I have them fooled. I’m thrilled they think I can be useful. I can be tenacious and unrelenting if called for to get results and push forms through. Even so, a good outcome will only be possible with God’s help.

        1. Had to deal with social workers for both parents also. They were in their own home but my sister lived with them. That made things easier to navigate the system. God was in charge, though, and my parents stayed in their home.
Littlelight, I see you have some very valuable hidden talents– “I can be tenacious and unrelenting if called for to get results…” I am discovering that life experiences, though seemingly mundane,
contain gifts that make one a tool in the hands of Our Lord and Our Lady. Interesting how you were given this mission at this particular time and you accepted it.
May a deluge of blessings come down on you and your family.

  11. Thank you for all the prayers for Janet. Your generosity is appreciated more than you know. Janet passed this past Friday afternoon. (I hate that word “passed”). I hope that all the time given to her during her illness and almost recovery was one of great Mercy and I hope to one day see her in the joyful peace of Jesus.
    God bless all of you.

    1. Joyful, praying for Janet. Like you, I don’t like the “passing” word much. When I talk with my 95-year-old mother and she’s feeling anxious, I say, “When you go Home” or “When you go Home to God” and she seems to like that. I like the “going Home” idea better. So Janet has gone Home.

  12. Now we really need prayers–long term. My daughter received a phone call saying that their unborn baby has a high probability of having Turner’s syndrome–“only” a 33% possibility of being “normal”.
What does that mean? It was recommended that they go to a genetics counselor. Phone call was too short and she is too upset. Please pray for me that I can show her the trust in God that she and her husband will need. So many here have prayed for her and her husband and I am pleading now more than ever. Thank you.

          1. Wonderful, Cheri. The squirrel has been a mascot for TNRS-ASOH and so it fittingly enters into images as does whatever images rise from one’s creative mind associated with the name and purpose of CORAC.

              1. Sure, Cheri. Just click on the MENU box in the upper right hand corner of the page here at the site and then scroll down to “Answers to Techie Questions” and you’ll find info on how to post the photo in your comment. If that is too complicated, you can scroll further down in the MENU to “CONTACT” and send your photo to TNRSAnswers.

  13. Mick and Beckita, I am so grateful for your prayers. I am taking this to Mother Mary and Fulton J Sheen, Julie’s favorite. He needs a miracle for his canonization especially since his beatification was delayed. Why wait? Now is as good a time as any.

  14. Dear All, I received word from a very good friend of my mother and me that his son Jose went Home to God several hours ago after a long illness. Our 95-year-old friend, Jorge, lost his first son to SARS somewhere around 2005, his wife a few years later, and his second son Monday afternoon. He has no immediate family left. He is a strong Catholic, but this has got to hurt. Please pray for the family and specifically for both Jose and our friend, Jorge. Thank you.

    1. Oh Steve, how hard for this family. Praying for them, for the repose of Jose’s soul and for your friend, Jorge. Praying, too, for you and your mom in this sorrow.

      1. Thank you, Beckita. My mother and I spoke with Jorge this afternoon and found him very sad. Fortunately, when I asked, he said he has help around the house, help from some of his son’s friends, as well as some cousin-type family, to make sure he is OK.

    2. Steve, If I give Beckita my email address, I would like to have some masses said for Jorge, his wife and both his sons as well as the family. Would it be ok with you? I just need their names.
Nonetheless, I will be praying for all of them.

      1. JoyfulHope, I do appreciate your offer. Unfortunately, for security reasons related to that family’s circumstances, I cannot disclose their full names. If you can offer the masses anyway, I know Jorge would deeply appreciate it, and I’m sure God can sort things out. However, if you cannot, *I* still know of your generous offer and send you my gratitude for it.
