The Full Armor of God

By Charlie Johnston

Two months ago I had a mystical experience. It concerns present times. It came upon me suddenly, with no forewarning. But it was mystical, so take it with whatever grain of salt you will. For most such things, I just tell my Priests so there is a contemporaneous record. Usually, I am directed from above NOT to publicly share it and, even, not to share it privately except with my Priests. It often takes some time – usually a few days, often a few weeks, sometimes years, to plumb the depths of these things. On this one, a couple of weeks after it occurred, two men I hold in the highest regard were in desperate need of hearing of it and what it meant. To my surprise, I was directed to tell them. Now I tell you.

But first, an excerpt from a column, Cast Down From the High Places,  I published in February of 2025:

β€œI’ve had people tell me you can always tell a true prophet because they are never wrong. I wonder if those people have ever even read the Old Testament with any depth of contemplation, for that rule would disqualify every Old Testament Prophet except Isaiah. Then there are those prophecies which seem wrong at first and then come to pass in a way no one, including the prophet, expected. Not to mention those that are conditional, such as Jonah’s prophecy against Nineveh. God spared Nineveh after its people repented, in response to Jonah’s prophecy. Frankly, a β€œprophet” who never errs is usually the devil’s man and only speaks of small things in the sight of eternity – to give himself credibility as he muddies the water. In what was effectively a brutal commentary against our own perverse pride, Jonah actually sulked after God’s mercy to Nineveh because the Almighty had NOT destroyed them, thus potentially making Jonah seem to be a false prophet. How many of us would rather something stupid or mean we say be right than to keep searching for what actually is right? Vanity of vanities!

My default setting is to say what I think and let the chips fall where they may. Any claim of mysticism could be a delusion…or a way in which certain peculiar minds process deep insights. If profound mystical insights are authentic in a particular person, you better believe that the devil is working overtime to try to fool him, as well. Privately, I hold people who claim perfect discernment, always knowing what is from God and what is not, in deep contempt. That is to claim that you are already a greater saint than Padre Pio, Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, or the many other saints who acknowledged they were fooled by the devil sometimes. Anyone who says they can’t be fooled by the devil already has been. Discernment and interpretation are the most difficult things I have ever dealt with.

So, I enjoyed the days when I would wow people by saying completely out-of-the box things that eventually came to pass. My errors were lumped in, like everyone else’s, as part of my humanity – and people acknowledged that I made significantly fewer than most. It’s a comfort zone I like a lot…and is aligned with my directive, from heaven as I believe, to take full responsibility for everything I say, wherever I think it comes from, and correct my inevitable errors as soon as I am aware of them. Thus, it matters little to me what anyone thinks of my mystical claims. Truth will stand the test of examination…and either I get things right or I don’t. There has been some of both. But it is important, I think, that you know I take them seriously and they play a big role in my analyses. But all you need to judge is the objective quality of the analysis.”

Saturday, May 30, 2026, was one of the most important days in modern salvation history. It is the day when all of the forces of heaven were perfectly arrayed and deployed to help the faithful carry out noble, Godly plans. The satan and his minions have been stripped of almost every power. All they are left with is the power to create convincing spook shows, to intimidate you away from your Godly resolve. They are reduced to spiritual scarecrows – which would be laughable if we didn’t so often behave like a bunch of crows. I am going to return to that same column for a bit, concerning a great and peculiar visitation I lived in September, 2023:

β€œSince it is no longer about the future, I am going to share a few particulars from a peculiar visitation I had in September of 2023. I think it has profound significance to what is happening right now. It played out episodically over a week and a half in New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. All of this (and more) was shared at the time with my director Priests.

I was told that the persecution of those of orthodox Judeo-Christian faith was not what it seemed. Rather, God was gathering godless elitists together into their high cultural places, isolating them from ordinary people. He was allowing their already hardened hearts against ordinary people to harden further into near open contempt. He was doing this to cause them to self-segregate and self-isolate from regular folks, so those normies would not be seriously harmed when He cast the elitists suddenly forcefully down from their high places. Then I was directed to drive towards a mountain (not in a vision, but a real mountain in New Mexico). As I did, a great, dark storm formed at the top of the mountain. It obscured the top of the mountain. Lightning flashed constantly from within that darkness. But, amazingly, it only covered the top tenth of the mountain. The rest of it was covered in sunlight. It was an astonishing sight. I thought about this.

In Arizona, I was driving in semi-mountainous country far from any town. I asked what would be the end of those who were caught in that great storm in the high places. I was told that all were invited to repent, but I would be shown the end of those who persisted in their arrogant vanity. Then I was directed to pull off at an exit and drive along a particular, twisting route in big hills in the middle of nowhere. My angel told me, β€œHere you will see.” As I pulled around the next curve in the hills, there before me was a vast cemetery…I mean a really big one…right in the middle of nowhere. I felt an intense forlornness, for it felt like all the people here were completely forgotten. I stopped and looked for a while in silence, then made my way back to the interstate and contemplated it.

I was told, near the end, that those of good will would get wet from the storm, but would not perish so long as they trusted and walked upright before the Lord. (Remember, I have almost always interpreted β€œperish” to mean losing eternal salvation, not physical life). I was in Las Vegas then, getting ready to go to a dinner with a bunch of folks, when a rare heavy rainstorm broke out. On the radio they were talking about which roads were flooded and closed. There was only one possible route to my dinner. Then the radio warned that there was danger of a washout on the road I was on so, though it was not formally closed yet, it should be avoided. I was thinking of calling and cancelling and turning back. My angel said one word. β€œTrust.” So I plowed ahead. There was one seriously dicey spot, but I got through it okay and got to the dinner with about 15-20 people. It was a wonderful evening. After dinner, when I left, the flooding had already receded dramatically. Again, I contemplated.

I often say that both faith and trust are acts of the will. My dinner in Las Vegas seemed more confirmation for that certainty.

This is also why I have been saying for some time that the power of darkness has been broken. The vandals in this generation will never again occupy the high places they so cherish. Yes, there is plenty of wailing and gnashing of teeth by those being cast down. But the only thing that will give them relief is repentance. Otherwise, for all their flailing, their end will be the same. Again, I sent a very brief summation of this to my Priests on September 19, 2023…and then I discussed it at more length with several of them by phone afterwards.

But this is not the end of troubles, not by a long shot. We must gird our loins and give witness to the world to bring it back to God. But I do not believe we will lose a single battle we prosecute with vigor anymore…provided that we do not lose heart.

I thought you should know on what basis I insist, with such confidence, that the power of darkness is broken. But we must persist. Under the old-world title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Mother evangelized the New World when the missionaries had failed – and had even abused some of the natives. (Contrary to ignorant popular myth, the Catholic Church did NOT approve of or countenance that. In fact, in an ecclesiastical letter in 1537, Pastorale Officium, Pope Paul III imposed automatic excommunication on any who enslaved indigenous American natives. A few days later, he issued the Papal Bull, Sublimis Deus, which forbade the enslavement of indigenous peoples anywhere they might be found.) Now, under the American title, Our Lady of Tepeyac, I believe Our Mother intends to re-evangelize the Old World from the New. And we are to be her heralds. Contemplate, sometime, the substantial connections between Our Lady of Tepeyac (Guadalupe) and Our Lady the Immaculate Conception. If we do our work properly as heralds, we have begun the road to the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart. We better get our act together and get to work, rather than sitting on our laurels.”

As I write this, Anthony Fauci is waiting for the other shoe to drop after taking the Fifth Amendment and refusing to testify before a Senate panel. This, following a week of revelations revealing the cupidity and lies that propped up the whole disastrous Covid gambit. All around the world those who tried to oppress people of faith are being cast down from their cultural high places. The establishment media has been largely neutralized both by the social media site, X, and by its own brazen, partisan narrative peddling. Less than three years after the visitation I described, the temporal forces opposed to God are being cast down at an ever-accelerating pace. But this is primarily a spiritual battle. The volatile temporal effects are just an offshoot of the emerging spiritual reality.

In the first place, God is in the process of defending the faithful with this ongoing destruction of the power and influence of those who have persecuted the faithful. While there will be twists and turns in that battle before the last chapter closes, I regard it as already accomplished. Again, I think differently about these things than most people do. To me, Nazi Germany was doomed from the moment it invaded Poland. The process of war played out for almost six more years from that point, but Hitler’s Reich was doomed from the moment he crossed that line. WhenΒ St. Joan of Arc lifted the siege of Orleans in 1429, England’s effort to annex France as a mere province was doomed. Oh, the battle raged on for 24 more years, but England’s dream of almost a hundred years was doomed from that moment. When a decree is made from eternity, it is done there, even as the process of finishing it in our little terrarium of temporal time and space must play out.

Temporally, the battle between the persecutors of people of Judeo-Christian faith must play itself out. In eternity, the decision is made and irrevocable. It is already finished. So it is a very good thing, indeed, that, except for the power of intimidation, the satan has been stripped of everything. But it is more, much more, than just this.

God is not just liberating the faithful: now He turns to purifying the faithful. This is why He has left the satan such limited power – that that vile fiend may be a tool of Our Lord’s purification of us.

There may be more, but I know of two key provisos that all serious Christians should be aware of concerning this:

First, you must be focused on a truly Godly aim. If, like Job’s pious friends, you are just focused on what you imagine God must intend, you will fail. To promote God’s intentions, you must constantly seek correction. If you chafe under such standards, you are not seeking God’s will; you are seeking His help to do your will. Secretary of War Edwin Stanton once told President Abraham Lincoln that, β€œGod is on our side.” Lincoln gently corrected him, noting that he prayed that we be on God’s side and remain there. Triumphalism is a form of pride and ego that is ever prelude to a fall.

Second, don’t count odds. The devil has full power to intimidate and scare you. Think in terms of Gideon when God first called him. He was willing to help, but wanted to do it in secret. God made it clear that was unacceptable.

The odds were overwhelmingly against Gideon. Facing 135,000 Midianites, the best he could do was raise an army of 32,000 – outnumbered by over four-to-one. God responded to this by reducing Gideon’s Army to 10,000 men. Then God further reduced it to 300 men. Gideon was not prepared until he had put on the full armor of God, not relying on human might. He won – because he trusted in God and allowed himself to be cloaked in God’s armor.

Do not be pugnacious or pick fights unnecessarily. But know that when you work for a truly Godly cause, with humility and gratitude, 135,000 men arrayed against you will not be nearly enough. Neither be cowed, nor let ego persuade you that you are the author of victory. Be fearless in the face of men, giving thanks to Him constantly for the victories He grants.

In a way, this is like Jesus, after the Resurrection, asking Peter if he loved Him. Three times He asked, shaking Peter up in the process. It was a gentle rebuke and a reminder, after Peter’s panicked denial before the Crucifixion, that genuine love of God is shown through actions, not mere words and assurances. If you love Me, β€œFeed my sheep!” the Lord told Peter.

So it is now for all of us. The Lord is fully with us if we are truly with Him, in full submission, humility, and confident resolve. Do not fall into despair when you fail, as most everyone will. We have gotten far from God, including those who think they are closest to Him. The Lord knows the true desire of your heart, even when it has become disordered. He loves you. β€œFor the Lord disciplines him whom He loves, and chastises every son whom He receives.” Hebrews 12:6 When you are rebuked or fail, do not despair or complain, but rejoice that God is now treating you as a son or daughter He loves – and has growing trust in. Pray that He make you worthy of that trust.

Ever since I accepted that the Storm was not conditional, but the pre-requisite for our renewal, I have prayed that God drive the point home fully and deeply – because I also know (believe) that this is our last chance: the next time there is a mass falling away, it will be prelude to the actual end.

We are in the refiner’s fire now. Having our own flaws and vanities exposed to us is not nearly as comfortable as fighting the depravities of others, but it IS the final step to make us truly worthy to be called the People of God. So put on the full armor of God. Worry less about transient suffering. Instead, pray that it will forge us into a people who can live a thousand years of peace and true brotherhood before anyone even thinks of falling away again.

  1. did I miss what happened on May 30th this year? I searched the date and it was right before Trinity Sunday, a meteor caused a big sonic boom over New England and pope Leo kicked off a new ecumenical effort. πŸ€”

    1. Momma, Charlie begins telling us of the event in the very first paragraph: Two months ago I had a mystical experience. It concerns present times. It came upon me suddenly, with no forewarning. 2. No Momma, when an event is decreed in eternity to begin in time, it often takes years or decades for people to begin to realize and understand it. You missed nothing that was striking in temporal time.
