Dallas, Texas – Ever since the turn of the millennium, I have argued that the left (in politics, media, and culture) has been following the path of dehumanizing opponents that is always the forerunner of prison and death camps. Ironically, murderously unhinged movements are almost always fueled by a bizarre sense of moral superiority and duty. I read once from a book about former German death camp guards, some of whom had been sickened by their killing of Jewish children. But they steeled themselves to the task by reminding themselves to be strong, for it was their duty in order to usher in a great new German culture. People who, en masse, commit atrocities almost always justify their grisly butchery by convincing themselves they are morally enlightened and superior.
When I read the National Contagion Research Institute’s recent study that revealed almost half of leftists believe assassination is sometimes justified and that fully a third actively support violence to achieve their political aims, I shuddered to think that we really dodged a bullet on election day. If the left had gained and augmented their power, it would already be planning the prison camps (of which the J6 prisoners were just the beta test) and steeling itself for the necessity of extermination camps. Much of this is fueled by a robust online assassination culture on leftwing social media sites.
Early on, I was very disturbed by the notably hysterical resistance to former President George W. Bush and its attendant assassination porn. This was not normal. It was followed by fawning, cultish, leader-worship of Barack Obama and then, an explosion of utterly unhinged anger at Donald Trump and violence against his supporters. The Biden interregnum just tried to normalize things. With feverish leftist hatred and violence growing in intensity throughout the entire 21 Century now, Biden’s FBI declared white supremacy to be our greatest threat. When was the last time any white supremacist committed a major offense? The Oklahoma City bombing? The last time unhinged leftists committed notable violence has to be updated every day.
It is the unhinged, irrational, intensity of this anger, hatred, and publicly expressed misery that led me to believe the devil was entering his endgame. These are powerful signs of demonic influence and frenzy. If you believe, as I do, that the century that God promised to the satan to try to destroy the Church, as shown to Pope Leo XIII, began with the final apparition at Fatima, this is the logical end state of the dystopian disorders the satan wrought over his century. You all know I believe the clean-up operation began in 2017, 100 years after the ultimate apparition at Fatima.
Yet if, as I insist, the power of the satan has been broken, why are we seeing such growing dystopian violence? There is a trajectory of malevolent madness that, after a certain point, feeds itself. Those afflicted by it are miserable. They are angered by their misery. Their fury makes them even more miserable. And then, incapable any longer of finding joy – even viscerally repulsed by the very things that bring joy – they project their fury outwards onto others. This is why I get so agitated as the media (including most conservative commentators) desperately act as if these are ordinary times, polling people on how they feel about tariffs, the war in Ukraine, or any other public issue or policy. We are not a common culture wrestling with how best to accomplish largely shared aims. We are a society that has been riven globally by the satan’s century. The godless left is become a nihilistic death cult, determined only that they be the overseers of the world’s violent destruction, inflicting as much mutilation, misery, and agonizing pain as they can along the way. It is not rational, except in demonic terms. And with the sly mirth of demons as they go about their appointed rounds, the acolytes (also victims) of the satan pretend that they are trying to do good – having entirely lost the capacity to distinguish between good and evil.
We ARE at the point of Ephesians 6:12: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” With prayer, fasting, and charity we must seek to rescue those who can be rescued from the satan’s clutches – without knowing who can and cannot be. All who do not repent shall perish suddenly and finally. So we must not just seek to defeat our frenzied opponents (though for the future of our children and the world we MUST do that), but also to reclaim them.
We are called to an intentional discipleship. If we are to be serious Christians, we must mount a great rescue effort, even while knowing that some are already irretrievably lost. We must take on a heavy and terrible burden. From now on, every soul you could have given effective witness to but do not will be held against you by God. Every soul you do give effective witness to, particularly under trying circumstances, will be credited to you. And effective witness does NOT mean limp-wristed simpering. You must prayerfully reach deep within yourself to see what would best, in your considered estimation, reach the person you are talking to right now to change the trajectory of their lives towards God.
Do you see why I am so insistent in not being overtly evangelical? I look to a person’s heart. If it is filled with good will, seeking the best it can, then this person is a follower of Christ, whether consciously or unconsciously – and God will show him what he needs in God’s own good time, for God will let none of His own perish. I cannot improve on God’s plan, though I can joyfully reinforce it. Remember the parable of the two sons. It is not the one who says, “Lord, Lord…” who is acceptable to the Father, but the one who does His will. If I spend my time trying to prove to others who are already trying to do good that my way is better and theirs is cursed, I have squandered the time I could have used to encourage those who are trying and show a better way to those who have fallen into despair and misery.
Above all, what is happening in the world today is not a series of discrete policy disputes. I say this is Armageddon, the decisive battle between good and evil preceding the dawning of the great era of peace. Woe unto each of us when we could have gleaned another soul to the harvest of God’s children but would not. Blessed are each of us when we find and return a soul to God who was otherwise lost. If we are serious, we will do both before this is all over. That is all that the best of us can do. And then we must rely on the mercy of God, which we will find can ALWAYS be relied on. But woe unto those who appoint themselves God’s “mini-me’s” to lord it over their fellows. They risk being told by Christ at the judgment that, “I never knew you.”
Do not think we are at the end of troubles. As on the original Holy Thursday, we are at the beginning of the most serious troubles – which will continue until, in the fullness of time, the great era of peace dawns with the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart.
Now is not the time to hunker down or to busy ourselves straining out gnats. Now is the time to go forth and proclaim the good news that God’s kingdom is breaking out all around us – and He wants each of us to take our place in it.

It struck me that the “white supremacy” is such a battle cry, but it has been SO effective!! My single, white male sons are struggling to find jobs! We’ve told them to stop identifying as “white” on application forms. One son applied in person at a Michael’s Craft store (after being told by a Hispanic friend that they were hiring), and they told him they didn’t need help. The job markets may not be advertising “single, white males need not apply,” but it certainly seems to be a behind-the-scenes agreement.
In the meantime, praying for us all!

Years ago I read about a great way to introduce the Lord into everyday conversations. When a person is describing their worries or struggles or issues, if you can, gently ask “And for you, where is God in all this?”. I admit I’ve only tried it a few times and mostly just got blank stares in reply.

The report showing the approval of assassination is chilling indeed! I was just thinking about your words the last couple of days, Charlie, that have labeled some the godless left. Continuing later in prayer, thinking about how “God is love” and how we here don’t hate, but the “godless left” is so filled with hate. They are not rational. No, it is not normal and can only be explained by the devil’s work. So we spread God’s love and do what you spell out here, and where greater power than ours is needed, may the Lord show up and take over.
Every day, and at the end of each decade of the Rosary, I say the Lady of All Nations prayer. “……..send now your Spirit over the earth…..” Sure sounds like the Holy Spirit enlightening the world, but we’ll have to wait and see how it happens. God strengthen us all! I sure need it!

I pray that the thick veils covering the war in Ukraine get stripped away soon because the Enemy enjoys its secrecy. If, as Trump describes it, it is a war of unimaginable carnage, why is it not being reported? I also believe there is a lot of Putin Derangement Syndrome going on and Zelenskyy is not seen for the tyrant puppet that he is. May God grant us peace. Also, the rumor of war between India and Pakistan is alarming since these are nuclear powers with a long history of strife. It would be just like the Enemy to try and sneak one in.
Our Lord’s crucifixion and death resulted in the veil between The Holy of Holies and man being torn. Let us not veil the Presence of God within us. Spend more time in adoration. Sign up for an hour if you have a chapel of perpetual adoration nearby. Then, like Moses, the glory of God will shine through your soul and people will see Him reflected in your eyes and manner. His light shines over the darkness of secrecy and shadow.
My prayers for you as you each find the best way to cast the bushel baskets aside.

I have several friends who might be considered ” questionable” by normal people. It has always been my way to be fascinated by things most people are scared of. As a child I would come running if someone saw a snake or a lizard and gasped in fear or loathing. Me being curious as to what about it they found so repulsive, I then viewed it in wonder, recognizing it’s unique design and questioning why they found it so fearful. Looking back, now that I am older, this draw into God’s creation of things most people are repulsed by has drawn me to people society considers undesirable as well. As a Christian who understands that nothing happens without God’s permission, these people that He has placed in my life are His children too and I am to pray for them dispite their lack of virtue or prayer life. Over the years I can see how I’ve influenced them to believe, mostly because I have stayed firm in my faith and been a good witness to them but also because a curiosity grew in them through my faith walk which then led to some important conversation about God. Of course, I believe that God’s grace working in my life has reinforced the perception they have of me and my faith that it must be true that God exists.

I have long since said, “we have so indulged our children that they no longer know right from wrong.” When I see a 30-year old niece marry her girlfriend I know we have strayed. I was at Mass on a Saturday two weeks ago and was approached afterward by a friend I had not seen in a good while – at least two years. And this person is not even Catholic. She had talked to my husband first and made some assumptions about me knowing who and what she was then telling me. Anyway, she was there with another younger person who is interested in either entering the church or having her marriage convalidated (or both).
Then, she tells us she has left her husband of 40+ years and moved out of state near one of their sons. Oh my. I don’t post on FaceBook but do “lurk” occasionally. She regularly shares lots of OccupyDemocrats and other posts. Again, oh my.
She ends with, “It’s been so long, let’s keep in touch.” I agree. So I will specifically be praying, fasting and almsgiving for a path to open communication. Any other suggestions??

On today’s trapline, I found a short essay by Cynical Publius, originally posted on his X account. I’m not on X, but someone copy/pasted his essay. His observations complement yours, I think:

It’s kind of embarrassing as I have always considered myself to be very astute and alert when it comes to American politics.
But Trump 2.0, DOGE and civilian heroes like Data Republican woke me up.
For DECADES, the Deep State has been taxing us at obscene levels, all the while claiming through their media mouthpieces that it was all going to national defense and untouchable entitlements, and there really wasn’t any fat in the budget to cut.
But there WAS fat. Lots of it.
And here’s the thing: that fat was seized from our pockets at the point of a gun, added to the federal budget, then dispersed to NGOs tasked to carry out ostensibly useful tasks which were in reality a concerted effort to undermine and destroy our Constitutional Republic. We were paying for our own demise, and were oblivious to it. We were like a parasite’s host, growing weaker day by day and totally unaware of the parasite thriving on our life’s blood.
What’s worse is that the cycle of America-hating NGOs also wrapped an entire class of Democrats in luxury. Exploiting the basic goodness of Americans to help those in need, we were in reality funding grift and graft whereby Democrats cycled from elected office, to lobbyists, to industry, to NGOs, and back again on an endless loop where the only true value was enriching themselves. Five of the seven richest counties in America are on the Washington DC Beltway. I just explained why that is so.
Now I know there are some who will belittle the cuts we are seeing as being inconsequential in the grand scheme of the entire federal budget and the national debt, and as a solely mathematical analysis this may be true. But this minority portion of the federal budget has nevertheless had an enormous and outsized impact on the destruction of the United States of America.
Cutting off the dollars we have been paying to these parasites will silence their voices of hate and American destruction, and allow us room to maneuver to recover our nation, all in the nick of time.
Ending the doom loop of America-destroying NGO graft is the greatest thing Donald Trump is doing. He deserves a statue on the National Mall for this alone. (With little statues of Elon, Big Balls and Data Republican.).
Thank you, Trump 2.0 Team, for saving us from funding our own demise.

A new pope has been elected. He will mostly likely be a continuation of the approach= of Francis.. From what I have read, he is not middle of the road.
