Dear friends,

I have just been notified that one of my teenage grandsons was shot in the chest today. I know no more right now…but hope to have more information later. I am in rural Arkansas and do not have cell service (but can receive texts). His name is Gabriel and he is my daughter’s son. I should know more tomorrow, but I do not even know if he is alive right now. Please pray for him and for my dear daughter. He is a bit of a wild teen, so I am fearful right now. I will let you know tomorrow as soon as I have details and know his condition.

(Okay, he was shot by a rifle – don’t know the circumstances – and he is in reconstructive heart surgery in Alabama right now. He was conscious and alert on the way to the hospital, so it does not sound as if he is in immediate mortal danger. Again, I will know tomorrow – and I deeply appreciate your prayers. CJ)

  10. Charlie this is just tragic!!! Please know me and Mike will pray daily for your grandson and Christina!!! I think I just saw this beautiful pic of all of them a few days ago on fb!!! Will be praying hard for him!!! Hang in there Charlie!!! Praying for you too!!! It’s so hard to be a grandparent these days and watch our grandchildren struggle and there’s not much we can do because we’re the grandparents!!! God bless you all so much! Dearest St Raphael please help Charlie’s grandson!!! 🙏🙏🙏

    O blessed Archangel Gabriel, we beseech thee, intercede for us at the throne of Divine Mercy in our present necessities, that as thou didst announce to Mary the mystery of the Incarnation, so through thy prayers and patronage in Heaven we may obtain the benefits of the same, and sing the praise of God forever in the land of the living. AMEN

    I salute you, glorious St. Gabriel the Archangel, Prince of Heaven, who stands before the throne of God, ever mindful of those who seek your intercession. You are the herald of the Incarnation, who revealed the glories of Mary and foretold the greatness of Jesus. Save our souls, show us how to love and care for others in the world, especially those who are suffering, to speak kind words to the unbelievers as well as to those who are unhappy and find life burdensome. Guide priests, so that they are not afraid to speak the truth. Assist world leaders in all aspects of communication, so that all violence and killings will cease and peace will come. Give us strength, admirable teacher, so that we may grow in our faith, evangelize and lead others to Holy Mother Church. Bring to us God’s mercy, as well as the Gifts and Charisms of the Holy Spirit. You were the first adorer of Jesus, give us a deep desire to be close to Jesus, especially when He is exposed on the altar at adoration. During this Lent, help us to grow deeper in our meditations on the Passion of Jesus Christ and the Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please bring these petitions I now place before you to God Almighty (mention all of your intentions, especially for an abundance of grace to be bestowed upon Pope Francis and Cardinal Burke). AMEN.
