(The piece below appeared in the latest issue of our CORAC National Newsletter. If you don’t already read the CORAC site, you should. If you miss an issue, you miss a lot. I am convinced that this election is not going to be a resolution of the battle that has been simmering in American society for 24 years – and boiling for eight years. It will open up the final confrontation between irreconcilable forces. That could take several forms, but our cold, cultural war could turn hot. I have said that we have passed the time of revelation and entered into the time of choosing. The once honorable Democratic Party has been hijacked by leftist ideologues determined to make America into a bleak command state, an authoritarian nightmare. Already, prominent Democrats such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk, and Alan Dershowitz have left the Democratic Party. Most have not become Republicans, but independents. They have been made homeless by the hostile forces that have made the Democratic Party into an anti-freedom, anti-American Party. So, these former Democrats have chosen to stand with freedom and Americanism. Authoritarians rarely, if ever, surrender power because a vote did not go their way. Leftists have gone so far afield of law and American tradition to hold power these last eight years that they have to fear jail cells if they surrender power – to face justice on real crimes rather than manufactured crimes. So when I say the time of choosing has begun, I do not just mean choosing who to vote for. -CJ)

There is a rhythm to most election cycles, one that a practitioner can discern and use to his advantage if he is canny enough – and disciplined enough to ignore the frightened chirpings of all the nervous Nellies on his own side. This year, there is less the ebb and flow of a discernable rhythm than the throbbing of an acute ache of a tooth, ear or head. Sometimes it is so bad it makes your eyes hurt.

There is always a fundamental dynamic to any cycle. That is the thing I search for relentlessly. When I am confident I have accurately discerned it, that is what I then doggedly pound on. Others, even among my colleagues, may not realize it, but everything I do is single-mindedly built on my discernment of that fundamental dynamic. I am convinced that the fundamental dynamic this year is that the election will not lead to resolution, but to stark confrontation.

That has been the trajectory of the last eight years, though there were border skirmishes for a good 16 years before that, over election integrity. The night before the election in 2016, I told a Catholic broadcaster at dinner that I had seen more red flags of national vote fraud than I ever had in my life that year, but that the shock of the night was that it would not be enough. Trump would win.

This was a seminal moment for Democrats, a time to take stock. They could have reasoned that, even in the aftermath of their sainted salesman, Barack Obama, ordinary Americans were not sold by their policies or their competence – even with massive vote fraud to bolster them. Instead, they chose to expand their retail vote fraud operation to a wholesale operation and start perverting the legal system to harass and intimidate those who complained about it. They were not interested in the opportunity to persuade; only the power to dictate.

I’ve got news for you: suburbs across the nation did NOT suddenly flip from red to blue in 2018; Joe Biden did not win in 2020; and there WAS a red wave in 2022. Because Republicans did not meaningfully stop election fraud – intimidated both by the mendacity of the fraudsters and the unified chorus of the fraudsters’ palace guard, the gutter press. We have had to live with the consequences of both the left’s mendacity and the right’s timidity.

After the decision to mount an administrative coup against Trump with the eager participation of the FBI, CIA, and other denizens of the deep state, there were only three ways this could end: the left would have to back off and reembrace honor; the right would have to submit to be ruled; or there would have to be a definitive confrontation between these fractured factions – war, whether cold or hot.

The left has only advanced. They redefined contesting an election as “insurrection,” but only when a Republican does it. They redefined a slate of alternate electors, routine in a contested presidential election, as illegal “fake” electors. They focused indictments on groups that were likely to dissent from their ideological imperative, such as pro-lifers, concerned parents at school board meetings, and traditional Catholics. Throughout, what they have been doing is probing to see how far they can go into illegal intimidation and, yes, terror tactics before getting serious pushback. The deeper they get into this probing, the more objective serious crimes they have committed, so the more desperate they are to hold onto the power they have illegitimately seized.

Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland, who has morphed into the head of the American Gestapo, recently bragged about how many J6 protestors he has jailed. He made clear that he will vigorously go after anyone who criticizes or protests the integrity of future election results.

The left constantly works to decimate election integrity procedures, claiming they limit ballot access. Let’s be blunt, when you work to destroy ballot integrity laws, it is because you are going to cheat and you want to make it harder to prove. It amazes me that their argument for this is that minorities are too stupid, incompetent, and lazy to get valid IDs. It is even more amazing that so many of the minorities they insult so contemptuously buy into this.

Now they push to allow illegal aliens to vote. Ah, but only illegal aliens from south of our border. For Russians and Eastern Europeans, they claim that even discussing American politics is illegal interference. They are utterly incoherent in their will to power.

The right has tried to make nice most of these last eight years, hoping that by showing some give it might bring the left back down to earth. The right also has a much better grasp of how stark and horrifying it will be if we have to fight to sustain the most basic of rights. So it has responded with a mixture of temperance, timidity, and stunned disbelief at how vicious the left has become – and how quickly.

Meantime, hundreds – maybe over a thousand – innocent people have been imprisoned on trumped-up charges which are really just a proxy for publicly defying the left. And our erstwhile American Gestapo head promises to crack down harder than ever.

We will not escape the existential confrontation that looms before us. If the Dems cheat effectively enough for Harris to prevail, the occupying regime will think it has secured enough power to subdue us all. It will begin stripping constitutional rights wholesale and jailing all those who complain or protest. They will do this, of course, in the name of “saving democracy.” If Trump prevails despite the fraudulent shenanigans and the open, shameless perversion of law, the left will release the hounds; they will set their paramilitary forces among Antifa, BLM, and Hamas supporters to set our cities to burn. If rioters (not protestors) are not arrested en masse with alacrity and then held, we will lose the country even after winning the election.

Over and over, the left has suffered setbacks in which it could have corrected course and come back to American principles of fair play and honor. Over and over, it has doubled down on mendacity. Each time, normal people have let it up easy, hoping it would moderate its tactics.

When people abandon God, the only hope they have for any sort of immortality is to hold power and dominance over others. Yes, it is a Dollar General form of immortality, but it becomes their whole reason for being, the only meaning (however impoverished) they know. It is their religion. It is most unlikely they will relinquish it now that they have reached a frenzy about it because an election says they must. Perhaps, finally, after 24 years of steadily ratcheting up the deceit and violence, the left will finally stand down if they can’t game the election into victory. I wouldn’t count on it, though.

In your community groups and other associations, it would be prudent to learn about military tactics, including asymmetrical warfare. I think that whatever happens in the next two months, this growing cold war we have been in for over a generation is going to turn hot. I stand on behalf of FREEDOM! (And not the freedom to get as many abortions as you like.)

    1. Looks like this poll reflects the reality of the polarization in the Church, Kate. Our Lady of Akita nailed this growing problem when she spoke on October 13, 1973: “…The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres…churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord…”

      As you were living your protestant days, I was observing the cancer of “cafeteria Catholicism” (picking which of Christ’s teachings one would honor and live) metastasize throughout the Church. Blessedly, the many who contracepted or had an abortion have benefited from the prayers and penances of those who responded to Our Lady’s calls for personal conversion as well as praying for others to make their way back to Christ as well as making reparation to the Father for the sins of these terribly disordered times.

      Only God knows how many of those Catholic women polled are still sincerely believing the lies which have been perpetuated by the politicians and the press and how many are doubling down unceasingly when His grace has been offered to awaken them by illumining their consciences to truth. His grace is truly sufficient for each of us. Enter the fullness of the Storm which will be a sort of last call for the seemingly intransigent ones stuck in their personal hell of disbelief in the Goodness of God in His Laws and Ways. His Justice is absolutely the very fiber of His Mercy.

  3. I might be being required to reluctantly (with good reason) register detailed (part) ownership of something with something called FinCen per the “Corporate Transparency Act”.

    Has anyone hear heard of FinCen before? thanks

    (I already feel like I’m living in a third world country again. Too many sudden casual fraud behaviors; similar to the non-American values we experienced overseas in everyday goods and services interactions). It all struck us as ‘innocently intentionally dishonest’.

    1. Leslyek, yes, FinCEN is real. It’s a government agency that up until this year was focused on gathering information from people about the accounts (bank, brokerage, etc.) that US citizens held outside the US in other countries. I’m not an accountant but have filed these before, so take my comments with care. 🙂

      If the total of one’s foreign accounts exceeds US$10,000, you need to file a detailed report on the FinCEN website, which is here:

      If your accounts total more than US$50,000, then you also need to file an IRS Form 8938 with your 1040.

      Recently, though, a new requirement was created for business entities that are US-based. As far as I understand it, if you are a controlling party in a US-based business entity that does not file as a Corporation (and possibly even for them, though they may file this information a different way), you must file with FinCEN within, I think, 90 days of formation of the entity to disclose to FinCEN who the owners and controlling managers are and where they live. And if one of them moves or the business moves, then another filing to update that ownership/control information is required within the succeeding 90 days. I have not had to do that, so I don’t know how this aspect of FinCEN filings actually works, but rather, only that it is now a real requirement.

      As I said, I am a layman on this stuff. If you have *any* reason to believe you may have to make such a filing about a US business entity (or need to file about foreign asset accounts), you definitely need to talk to an accountant who knows what to do and stop asking random questions on a non-financial website! 😀

      Do not delay or hope you can get around it. Get competent professional advice asap. There are penalties.

        1. Huh, that *is* strange. Perhaps all are on the radar of the Feds involved, but for efficiency reasons, they’re randomly picking you out of the pack. Like when six cars are speeding on the highway – the police pick one out randomly for actual enforcement purposes, figuring that that will scare the other five to slow down. More bang for the enforcement buck, so to speak.

Charlie’s thesis, that a Trump victory will not lead to acceptance by our new Communistic DemoRat Party, strikes me as valid, because the motivation of their major supporters would remain intact. For example, Trumps alliance with RFK, to promote good health IN PLACE of Pharmaceuticals, will stress big pharma into major spending to fight a Trump administration. Universities have grown filthy rich from federally supported student lending, with faculties and administrative staffs who are solidly DemoRats to protect their largess, so academe will seek vengeance in student brain washing, and in the mass media. Planned Parenthood will of course continue their money-grubbing baby murder business as if nothing happened. While the Industrial Military Complex will not work against Trump as he arms more to prevent war, the deep state bureaucrats in the Intel agencies, State Dept, DoD, Education, and Health will do their best to frustrate his policies.

  9. The sad political reality is they had another four more years to improve their cheating methods. They, Democrats, cheated bluntly in 2020, they were spitting in the Republicans’ faces and told them it was just raining. Republicans (meaning politicians in the first place) walked away hoping this November such a mistreat won’t happen again. If the American Himmler says he will go after whoever protests the results of the coming elections, it shows they are 100% sure all is secured for another power grab. They succeeded last time and they are better prepared now… Yet would the Trump’s win tip the scale in the USA and the world coming back to God if even Trump advocates now for eliminating 6-week abortion ban in Florida and wants to federally provide IVFs “treatments” across the states?

    I don’t think there will be any immediate significant reactions in the American society if Harris is installed. Americans were openly groomed (Biden’s installation) and intimidated (J6 prisoners) with this outcome four years ago, so why would they fight now? The time was then and the Republican politicians didn’t rise to the occasion. Of course in case of Trump’s win we will have an incited violence and riots again. How is it that looting and burning down neighborhoods happen when a black person is killed (by a cop) only when Trump is in office? With Biden in office when a black person is killed by a police officer there’s miraculously no violent protests.

    The only consolation is we will have mostly honest elections this year.

    Charlie, what is your take of the Akita apparitions? They are approved on the local level and the visionary nun Agnes Sasagawa just passed away. The fire from heaven is supposed to cleanse the Earth and a great part of humanity will not survive – with whole nations disappearing (unless humanity repents, and the question is are we closer to God now than in the 1970s when apparitions took place? That’s a rhetorical question, of course. ). Perhaps the fire from heaven refers to the nuclear WW3? And Kamala likes buttons.

    1. Charlie wrote back at TNRS that he believes the Akita apparitions to be authentic, Pawel. And he has reminded us many, many times that it’s the interpretation that’s so very tricky. I have often contemplated that the fire from heaven could be experienced both exteriorly and interiorly (cleansing those who have chosen to make a stand with God). But then, I’m just a kid in the peanut gallery striving to keep my eyes and heart on what God IS actually doing while also intent on listening to his particular directions that I may do the little He’s directing me to do.

      However, that the American people did nothing about the obvious fraud four years ago does NOT mean they will do nothing should such happen this time. Ordinary people who have long lived under norms usually have a subdued reaction when a great outrage comes, believing and hoping that, with time and restraint, things will go back to normal. It is tyrants who usually miscalculate this restraint as timidity to their peril. Hitler, for example, rationalized to himself that Europeans had done little to nothing as he took Austria, the Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia, Moravia, Lithuania and more with some flowery words from him. Why shouldn’t he be able to take Poland with the same consequence? Suddenly, it was war – for no one could deceive himself any longer about Hitler’s intent. For all the struggle, sorrow, and brutal savagery that followed, Hitler lost the war the dy he entered Poland.

      Would an obviously stolen election trigger widespread resolve to chase the godless leftists from the temple? I think so, but it may take living under progressive misery and enchainment to do so. But it is always a mistake hopeful restraint for cowardice. I have serious doubts about America’s judgment that I do not have about her collective courage.

      1. It is easy to support Trump in the far suburbs, yet putting a Trump sticker on a car in a big city will most likely have it demolished. Somehow some people in the far away suburbs are not afraid to put up Harris signs. Not that they are brave, they know/feel their Republican neighbors won’t attack them. Seems that the American freedom is only left for one side, Democrats, and gone for the other, Republicans… As for WWII, I would argue that Hitler lost the war because after having pretty much all the Europe on knees (except for Great Britain, yet), he decided in his insanity to go against his mighty ally – Russia.

    Are Political Polls worth the time to read them? Rush Limbaugh, years ago, pointed out that most Pollsters are Lefties and THEY spout BS to help THEIR side until near Election & after harm has been done to GoodGuys.     1. Oh so great to hear from you, Hans. I well remember you and your amazing work in Japan. Looking forward to having a listen to the interview. In reading 2 Peter 3:10 in the context of the entire chapter and also pondering Our Lady’s promised period of peace, it seems to me that Peter was writing about the very end of time, yet, here we are, coming to the end of an era marked by disorder with widespread evil. When Our Lady of Medjugorje would express that we’re living certain chapters of the Book of Revelation, I’ve recalled that the Old Testament foreshadowed what occurred in the New Testament and, just perhaps, we are living a type of foreshadowing of the fulfillment of the Book of Revelation.
