On this page, readers are invited to send in their prayer requests. I will leave requests up for nine days. All readers are invited to pray for those who ask for it and any who want to offer a word of comfort are invited to do so, as well. May we work together to mutually build each other up and support each other in times of trial.

homebound for several years and not much improvement after 2 back surgeries and
lots of ph.th. and now want to avoid knee surgery. Thanks so much in advance; I pray

  6. Several prayer requests for the dying today:

✝️ Please pray for Marshall who is on hospice.

✝️ Please pray for Bill who is on hospice. The family is hoping for recovery.

    And this just came in:
“Today, my oldest brother Matt asked me to contact you for prayers.

One of his best friends from high school and throughout life… just had a heart attack and stroke and they can’t wake him up. He is only 66 years old. The doctors say he only has a few days to live.

He is out of town in a hospital in another state with his wife. Matt is traveling to see John P. this Sunday. We pray he gets there safe and sound before John passes.

✝️ Please pray for John and his wife Chris and the doctors / medical team caring for him.

John has been a long time friend of our family and has a full life to live for…. his wife, grown children, grandchildren, friends and our Lord.

Please storm heaven for John P. ”

Please pray a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for each, if you are able.

St. Joseph, Patron of the Dying, pray for Marshall, Bill, and John.

  7. A request was just sent to me from my Portuguese friend, Lourdes Moreira. Her youngest daughter, Teresa, is suffering complete liver failure and a transplant is needed.

The situation is dire. Teresa has been in and out of the hospital and is in need of our prayers.

    Thank you very much.

(Her aunt, Fernanda, is the one who authored the Holy Hour Devotion for the Dying booklet with me and inspired the Spiritual Hospice Ministry.)

    1. Good morning Patrick! Isn’t that wonderful to meet the author of some of the literature that is available these days. I was glad when I obtained a copy of that booklet you spoke of. I will offer prayers for Teresa and her family. It sounds like a very dire time for them. God bless everyone here!

Yes, it was an honor to meet Fernanda, a deeply devout and spiritual woman. The Holy Spirit brought us together in a remarkable way when I was in Cincinnati. Today, He remains so active through her: The booklets and brochures she has made since I last worked with her are truly beautiful. She is very prolific, especially for a non-native English speaker. She is a housekeeper with only the most basic education! (That’s the Holy Spirit for you!) She and I are talking about making more of her beautiful materials available on my website.

        God bless.

How blessed are each of you to be joined in this much needed and holy ministry to the dying. Blessed be God in each of you and in your work together!

  8. Please pray for some special intentions for my family and extended family and peace in the midst of much confusion. Also prayers please to know and do Gods will. It seems to be that God is concealing what He wishes for some reason and I am scared. This is a great trial and prayers to remain faithful which seems like it is more up to me than Him. I don’t understand what He is asking and what He wants. It is a darkness and only He can give me the strength and courage in the midst of it. Thank you and God bless you.

    1. Dear thankful4mercy,
I’m praying for you and your intentions.
I liked that one post Charlie did sometime back about God knows who and where we are. It does get scary. Try to remember the scripture about Jesus walking on water. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus he was able to walk. The second he took his eyes off he started to sink. The Son is shining above the storm clouds. Blessed be God forever.

  9. Let us pray that young people in Africa may have access to education and work in their own countries.

Pope Francis – September 2018 prayer intentions

Africa is a wealthy continent, and its greatest, most valuable resource is its young people.
They should be able to choose between letting themselves be overcome by difficulty or transforming the difficulty into an opportunity.
The most effective way to help them in this choice is to invest in their education.
If young people don’t have the possibility of education, what future can they have?
Let us pray that young people in Africa may have access to education and work in their own countries.

    1. Thank you for your prayers. It was a little struggle to get to the Holy Hour at Church but well worth it:)

I have had a grace filled day. I went to St. Mary’s Church for the Holy Hour and a team member on the Spiritual warfare team prayed over me and anointed Holy Oil (St. Faustina). {This morning after mass I had prayed the Chaplet of St. Michael adjacent to a First class relic if St. Faustina}.

We prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at St. Mary’s Church at the Holy Hour 3PM. I prayed my mid-afternoon Divine Office then prayed the Stations of the Cross, offering for the conversion of sinners. Halfway through, a gentleman inquired if I could spare some change for a meal. I heartily assisted, internally thanking God for the opportunity of giving an alms.

        1. Thanks Mick. In hindsight, it was He who blessed me! I am so glad, I didn’t hesitate and smoothly picked off a bill for him and another for him to purchase a meal for a friend. It was quite wonderful. Looking back, during my morning adoration, I actually prayed for an alms giving opportunity and gave some $ in the Adoration Chapel of Peace offering “poor” box. It didn’t hit me until my evening prayers reflecting on this day, how blessed I have been.

Thank you again for your prayers. May God bless all here on ASOH and TRNS community and those friends who offered their prayer support.

          Cheers!

  16. A huge prayer of thanksgiving for the miracle of my nephew walking away from a car accident. He was rear ended at highway speed which caused his car to spin around. A semi then struck my nephew’s car. The steering column broke so the air bag went off at his feet yet he walked away with only a broken clavicle. My nephew called out for God to help him to survive as the accident was happening and God in his mercy saved him. Thank you Jesus!!

  18. We have a lot of bad people in the world right now, and from what I gather, Dianne Feinstein has been one of them. Today (Oct 4) she reviewed the FBI report on Brett Kavanaugh and from the video below, realized that she has reached the end of her road. Justice is coming, and much sooner than she hoped it would. I find this video heart-wrenching.

    http://dcwhispers.com/look-at-senator-feinstein-after-she-saw-the-kavanaugh-report-something-went-very-very-wrong-for-her-video/#2YgeIGIrSHLwoAfl.97

I believe we are going to see a lot of Justice over the next year or two, and make no mistake, that is a very good thing. We are also going to see a lot of people who are realizing they have created a long life of very bad choices and find themselves feeling utterly lost. I think Dianne Feinstein might be salvageable, might be saved, right at this moment, right in this day when she sees Justice suddenly looming.

As we see so many people facing Justice over the next year, we are going to see more heart-wrenching scenes like this. I think perhaps some prayers for this woman might be the first prayers of many we may all say for so many people who will find themselves right where she now is. A prayer at this moment won’t save her from Justice in our physical world, nor should it necessarily, but it might save her soul. Anyone who wants to join me in praying for her, I welcome the company. God have mercy on her soul.

    1. Lin, This prayer was in Fr. Heilman’s email post today. (you’re inc. in my intentions)..

      Secret Weapon Prayer

In her diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul, Saint Faustina Kowalska recorded that she received a private revelation regarding intercessory prayer from Jesus who told her to “Call upon My mercy on behalf of sinners; I desire their salvation. When you say this prayer, with a contrite heart and with faith on behalf of some sinner, I will give them the grace of conversion.”

      This is the prayer:

“O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You” (Diary, 186-187).

Let us pray together that the language of love and dialogue may always prevail over the language of conflict.

We all want peace. It is desired above all by those who suffer its absence.
We can speak with splendid words, but if there is no peace in our heart, there will be no peace in the world.
With zero violence and 100 percent tenderness, let us build the evangelical peace that excludes no one.

  30. Sorry to be such a pest but it’s been quite the week. I ask that you join me in praying for God’s perfect Will to be done in each of these cases.
    1) Four year old grandson much improved but still fighting some un-named illness.
    2) My first cousin was placed in hospice care (battling cancer).
    3) My son’s mother-in-law has been fighting brain cancer and they are now talking hospice.
    4) Son-in-law Jerry had scans this week. The cancer has landed in his lungs ( round #3). He starts chemo again tomorrow.
Please also pray for the repose of the soul of Kim, wife of a classmate. She collapsed suddenly two months ago, became paralyzed and in a coma. They never did figure it out. She passed a week ago.
As I said, it’s been a busy week.

    2. Dear Kris R.,
I’m so thankful you posted all of your requests. Prayers for all of your loved ones.

I am suspicious that the evil one wants us to believe we are pests for posting as you have to isolate us. Does that make sense? As I look around it seems as though there are major events coming at us faster than we can process. I keep going back to Peter walking on water as long as he kept his focus on Jesus. Once his focus was diverted he sank. I am writing this as much for you as for myself.
Holey Buckets this storm is fierce.

  31. A combo petition for prayer and input. My daughter turned down a request from friend to be a bridesmaid for the friend’s lesbian wedding. One priest told her she can’t go to the wedding but can attend the reception; another priest said the opposite: can attend the ceremony but not the reception; I suggested she get a third opinion from a different priest.
Any thoughts appreciated and of course, prayers for wisdom.

      1. We just discussed your daughter’s dilemma this morning, Marie. You see, I get that going to the wedding and also the reception are signs of approval of the errant union. But I am always concerned about how to love the person in the midst of their sin, how to preserve the relationship so as to continue witnessing to Truth even if by how one lives his/her life. Father said do not go to either the ceremony or reception. He suggested giving a gift as a sign of the love and care your daughter has for her friend. May Holy Spirit guide your daughter and you, Marie, as you discern how best to live your faith while loving those who are yet on the wide path rather than the narrow way.

        1. Thank you very much, Beckita, Fr. Wang and Mick for your wise input. I will share your counsel with my daughter and pray she makes the correct decision, however difficult it may be.

          Liked by 3 people

    1. Marie, I will pray for wisdom for your daughter, and for you as you advise her. That took guts for her to turn down the bridesmaid request. If my daughter were in your daughter’s shoes, I would suggest to her that she not attend either the ceremony or the reception, and that she not give or send a gift. That might sound harsh, but it seems to me that doing any of the above would imply some level of celebration or approval of the lesbian “union.” Just my two cents.

  32. Marie, years ago a childhood friend sent a letter saying she and her female partner were looking to get married. I pondered what I would say or do if I got an invite. This response came in to my mind: “(friend’s name), I care deeply about you. You are my friend. I would never lie to you and tell you it’s OK.”
I didn’t get an invite but that response has stayed with me all these years.
