Praying Hands with Rosary Beads and Dove

On this page, readers are invited to send in their prayer requests. I will leave requests up for nine days. All readers are invited to pray for those who ask for it and any who want to offer a word of comfort are invited to do so, as well. May we work together to mutually build each other up and support each other in times of trial.

  1. Can you all pray for the repose of the soul of Jack Bowen and his family? Especially his wife. He passed away last night about 10:22 p.m. He is my sister’s father-in-law. Thanks

  2. I am humbly asking for prayers for my husband’s surgery next Monday morning for prostate cancer. Asking our Lord for a successful surgery and complete healing from the surgery and cancer. Also praying for his surgeon and all the medical staff.

I am a bit early in this request but knew that the weekend may be hectic.

Thank you all in advance. I know there are great prayer warriors on this chain!

    2. Blessed, I think your timing is appropriate, because it allows us to keep praying up until the time of surgery. I join with many faithful prayer warriors here to pray for successful surgery and recovery for your husband, and comfort to you and your family.

My brother just had a prostatectomy for prostate cancer and it went very well and quickly recuperated. I pray the same for your husband and also pray for you as his caretaker after surgery. God bless you.

  6. Dearest Charlie, Becky, Snowy, Auiemarie2014, Janet, Jylnnbyrd, Stevebc and all of you (please forgive me if I left out an important name) I try not to ask too often, but I have a few prayer requests:

My son Tommy is going on another ice climb hike in the mountains of Colorado jan 20 – 25 with Dr. Smith. He’s done this before and I asked for your help. Tommy is still not back to the faith although he is such a good person. (Better than me that’s for sure) He’s an ER Nurse and is going with devout catholic Dr Smith who is devout Catholic Er Doc. Dr. Smith takes and pays for a young man every year. I think it is evangelistic on his part in secret intentions! What an angel. So anyways, please pray for their safety and perhaps a rekindling of the faith for Tommy. Bleesed Pier Giorgio Frassati Please Pray for Tommy and Dr. SMith!!

Next…Tommy and his wife beautiful Liz are going to the Philippines Feb 8 – 25 for another great adventure. They are traveling nurses so every now and then they get a month off before next assignment. I ask that you pray for their safety there too. There is much civil unrest in the Philippines, volcanoes about to explode and only God knows what else…lol..really… Only God knows!

Thirdly, I worked for a dear woman yesterday to clean her house for her who is in the latter stages of Lou Gehrig’s disease. She is praying for a Miracle from Blessed Salanus Casey and visited his church about a month ago. She is resigned to God’s Holy will but I would like you all to pray for her that she has a miracle cure if it is indeed God’s will!

Oh thank you all so very very much!!! I love you all and may God bless you all…and may His Holy Angels and Saints Guide your every path!

For the people of the Kingdom, and the people of heaven, shall rise together, shall rise forever and God shall rule!!!! πŸ˜‰ TNRS

  10. Pope Francis February 2018 Prayer Intention

That those who have material, political or spiritual power may resist any lure of corruption.

β€œWhat is at the root of slavery, unemployment, and disregard for nature and goods held in common? Corruption, a process of death that feeds the culture of death.
Because the thirst for power and possessions knows no limits.
Corruption is not countered with silence.
We must speak about it, denounce its evils, and try to understand it so as to show our resolve to make mercy reign over meanness, beauty over nothingness.
Let us pray that those who have material, political or spiritual power may resist any lure of corruption.”

  12. Hi Charlie, Beckita, Jlynnbyrd, Janet, Stevebc, Mick, Prayerpartner, Audiemarie2014, PatrickDaniel, Dorothy, KrisR. and whomever else is on here praying for people… I call you the BIG GUNS!!! Sooooo… just a little reminder about our son, Tommy and his wife Liz…they are on a big ole plane about now for 18 hours going from LA to Philippines!!! They have no plans for the next three weeks and have nothing booked and are just “winging it!” I think they are totally crazy!!!! My bp was up so high last night 159/100 just from anxiety of the whole thing.. I told my son he was going to put me in a looney bin and he agreed!!! Hahahahaha.. so I repeated to him 3 times, Jesus, I trust in you. They are both traveling nurses and not going to church but they are really good people. tommy is an ER nurse and Liz an ICU nurse..they are better than I could ever hope to be and I frequent the sacraments. Special kids they are. So for the next 3 weeks, if ya’ll could say little prayers for them if you think of this silly story here. Also, Mike and I are leaving for our own “tour de Florida” which we do once a year for Mike’s work and then some play. A little help for us too would be so appreciated! God bless you all! I’ll be praying a lot of rosaries in the car and will remember all you good folk! God Save us All and TNRS!!! Thank you so much and God bless you all!

  13. Dear Friends,

I have hesitated to ask for prayers because what I am going to ask for is accompaniment on a long journey…that of Frodo and Sam making their way through Mordor.
I am slowly weaning myself off a drug which I have been on for over 34 years.
    It is a benzodiazepine, clonopin.
Here is a brief article to give you some idea of the horrific nature of this process:

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/van-winkles/the-daily-nightmare-of-be_b_7866700.html

I am able to sleep only a few hours a week.
There is a sparkler in my head that is constantly flashing.
Constant dizziness that gets worse with lying down.
I spend many nights in the bathtub.

I offer up all my suffering… for many months now.
    But I am worn out.
    Jesus is my strength.
And I need the strength of friends who will lift me up before the throne of God.

My doctor says I should have a five year plan for coming off this drug.
It has already been over a year of torment.

    Thank you, dear Friends!

God has given me JRRTolkien to give me relief on this journey.

My journey is a story of witches, demons, fairies, exorcism, ufos, shamans, terrors and horrors and most of all God,s abiding LOVE, His POWER, His Mysterious WAYS.

    Blessed Be God Forever!

    “Though He
Slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Job 13:15

Did you know J.R.R. Tolkien was a daily communicant and believed that “The Lord of the Rings” was “given” to him?
I have listened to the audiobook twice and am about to begin again. (All these long nights!)

As far as medical help, my dear friend, a psychiatrist at Duke University said,” there is no Doctor,
No medicine that can help you through this. You are going to have to walk through this…I am so sorry.”

Holding you all in my heart.

  18. I would like to ask for prayers for my grandchildren Matthew and Katherine. Unfortunately their parents are not taking them to Mass since they don’t go themselves and they are loosing faith in God, Jesus and Mary. We live 14 hours away and older now and can’t get there often but when there we do take them to Mass. They have both received First Holy Communion but no instructions for Conformation. They are 13 and 11. Our grandson has informed me he does not pray nor believe in God. I write messages everyday to let him know that Jesus does love him but now he refuses to talk. Along with prayers do you have any ideas (maybe book titles I could purchase and send them) ? I know I am not the only grandparent this is happening to so I am reaching out to this faith filled community in hope of some help. I have been praying so things will change but I am afraid for their future.
I keep you all in my daily prayers and I thank you for all you do in God’s name for all who come to this site.
    Blessings,
    Ginger

    1. Praying, Ginger, for your dear grandchildren and their parents. Your faithful prayers are surely pleasing to the Lord and every prayer counts; every prayer changes things. Much like the trees in winter, so much of God’s work with those for whom we pray is being done in a hidden way. Be heartened in knowing your prayers for the conversion of those you love are being offered in God’s Perfect Will. He wants the conversion of our loved ones EVEN MORE than do we. For self-encouragement, you might search for Scriptures that affirm you in persistent prayer. Those words of the Lord are promises made to us, such as: “Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.” You might consider setting out a prayer routine which includes some days or times of fasting in ways that work for you. We know it’s a potent addition to prayer and Our Lady has consistently urged fasting in these days. Perhaps on Sundays you might renew the baptismal promises you made for your child who is one of the parents. Offering that renewal for his/her conversion, knowing it will ripple throughout the family.

Thank you so much for your prayers, Ginger. You and your family remain in mine.

      1. Thank you Beckita, . Your words are so encouraging and a blessing to my heart. I do not know scripture as I should but will be looking for affirmation as you suggested. I have added reading books on Mary and her sorrows to my Lenten offerings since I have always felt drawn to the Seven Sorrows. I am clinging onto the promises she told St. Brigit would be kept for those who honor her in those sorrows. God bless you and your holy work here….Ginger

I've had a form of vertigo that strikes while lying down and rising from bed that I get on and off called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BVVP. It is an inner ear issue and fortunately can be remedied with self care that I've learned from my massage/physical therapy training. Still it is frightening to feel like you are falling down drunk while in a lying position, and I do not drink as a rule. πŸ˜€

  28. Hi, I am almost shy in asking again for your prayers. Therapies are not working. It seems to me doctors are doing their best, but without hope. Losing completely the use of my left ear is painful, because the other ear is not working properly as well. This will create me even more problems at work and in personal relations, which have always been a weak point , being introvert and easily embarassed. So, again I ask for your prayers . For at least a partial recovery of hearing and healing from vertigoes.
I do not hyde I have very low mood. Thanks in advance. God bless all of you.

  29. We’ve been getting many prayer requests for the dying lately, and we’d appreciate your prayers if you are able:

    * Please pray a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for Dick, an elderly man who was admitted to the hospital and is dying.

    * Please pray for β€œCrabby” Bob, a 63 y.o. former bar owner who is dying. He has liver disease, pneumonia, and organ failure. He’s receiving comfort care at the hospital and will likely not return home. Please pray especially for his conversion and for a peaceful death.

    * Please pray for Jarret, a teenager who will be removed soon from life support.

    * Please pray for Vern who is dying of lung cancer.

It is wonderful that we have this opportunity to help so many. It would be great if you could pray a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for each, but if not just offer one for all. Thank you and God bless you this Holy Week.

  30. I received this message in an email today from the St. Thomas More Society asking for prayers:

    “My dear friend,

    Today is the day.

Today is the day the Supreme Court meets to discuss whether they’ll hear our appeal of the gag order injunction a San Francisco judge gave the National Abortion Federation (NAF)…

…prohibiting David Daleiden from releasing the rest of the video footage from his 30-month undercover investigation of Planned Parenthood.

You saw the videos he released back in the summer of 2015 – so you know they have the power to pull the curtain back on the abortion empire and turn the tide of public opinion.

That’s why I’m urgently asking you to pause today and say a brief prayer that the Supreme Court will agree to hear David’s case.

I’m confident if they do, they’ll ultimately rule in David’s favor. And that means David will be able to release the rest of his incriminating video evidence so the public can see what Planned Parenthood and their allies are hiding.

So can David and the Thomas More Society count on your prayers today?”

Please join me in praying for David, his legal team and the SCOTUS Justices.

Thank you. Wishing all a safe and blessed Easter Triduum. ❀

Incidentally, Ignatia is derived from a plant that was named after St. Ignatius of Loyola, which I think is kind of cool.
