Several years ago, while chatting in the cool of the evening, my son (who was then a police officer) told me he was glad he was the one who had to carry guns for his work instead of me. Startled, I asked him why. β€œEverybody thinks you’re such a nice, friendly guy,” he said. β€œYou are – but you are also the most remorseless man I have ever met. I have never seen you start a fight, but if someone insists on one, you don’t stop until they have been completely defeated or completely given up.” I had to concede the truth of that. Growing up, my son had seen me in more than a few private confrontations, both personal and political. As an adult I have occasionally counseled him on how to handle the infighting that is endemic to any organization.

I have never begrudged an honorable opponent. In fact, I have become close friends and allies with a lot of them. I don’t like people who are sneaky and think it clever to hit below the belt, calling it β€œhardball.” I don’t like people who use deceit and treachery to get their way. If they are pathetic guttersnipes who flail ineffectively, I just ignore them. But if they are aggressive and in a position to do real damage, I warn them and try to reason with them. If they persist, anyway, I work to destroy their career and influence, altogether. It is usually not all that hard to turn their own malice against them.

I have had two U.S. Senators, the Chief of Staff to a Governor, and a major lobbyist try to intimidate me by telling me they would see I was destroyed if I didn’t knuckle under. Two of them ultimately went to prison and the other two lost their next re-election. I don’t react well to pressure, strongarm tactics, or deceitful manipulation. When such a one insists on such a confrontation, I am content to fully engage and see who is the stronger. I don’t tolerate toxic tactics terribly long. I could go on, but you get the idea.

A few days ago, I posted a Tweet that has disturbed a few people whose confidence I value. I did not tweet it in anger (or, at least, not the hot kind). I knew before I put it up that it was liable to upset some of my allies. But I did it intentionally and with full knowledge of what I was doing and what I intended. Here, then, is the text of the tweet:

β€œLet me explain what you actually have accomplished, lefties, in your effort to get us all to kneel at your altar: I no longer want you humbled. I want you completely and utterly destroyed…your jobs, political positions, everything…with the ground salted behind you. You have shown you have no sense of honor, decency or fair play and you will NEVER stop in your relentless pursuit of power. So, I will work from the standpoint of nullification and secession, I will be glad to join any mob to cancel you, and I will support those who work to take you down even by questionable means. You are a clear and present danger to liberty and justice, so you must be stopped and segregated from honest society. That is what you have accomplished. I am no longer “reasonable” when it comes to you violent deatheaters.”

One person thought I was suggesting killing them. I had put in the words about jobs and political positions to make clear what I was talking about. I reinforced that by the line about β€œsegregate(ing) them from honest society.” The word, β€œmob,” disturbed another. It is the social media β€œmobs” which have been used to cancel Christians and conservatives. The lefties got my meaning. Shoot, I have already been part of two such mobs: those focused on Bud Light and Target. I began my boycott of Target years ago when it allowed men into the women’s washrooms. I am glad the rest of the conservative world has caught up with me. As far as Bud Light goes, my contribution to the boycott is nominal. When I was younger, I liked beer…but for the past decade and a half or so, get me a six-pack and I’m good to go for three or four years. Another was worried about the β€œquestionable means.” I’m focused on nullification and succession – and building a workable infrastructure that people can use if all collapses, which is looking more likely by the day. But if some go into open revolt, while I will question the efficacy of their judgment, I will not condemn them.

The left thinks that Christians and conservatives are like Republicans on a Congressional Committee: when an outrage is committed, they expect us to complain and then fall into line. I’m not that way.

I was scrupulously honest and just in my sojourn in politics. Often, if there was an intractable dispute between groups, even if my opponents were among one of the groups, I would quietly be called in to negotiate or arbitrate the dispute. Whatever the public rhetoric might be, I was trusted by almost all. I could forge deals and make them stick. Once, a family member in Alabama needed a birth certificate very quickly. I went to the Democratic County Clerk’s office. Turned out you had to either apply in person or send a notarized request in by mail. When they said I couldn’t get it, I asked for the clerk directly. I explained the situation to her and she told them to give me the birth certificate. Then she paused and asked, β€œThis isn’t some sort of sting operation, is it, Charlie?” Β I replied, β€œYou know me. I don’t do ambushes. If I am coming after you, you know it upfront.” She nodded and turned back to her subordinate and told him to give me the birth certificate.

I did not resent anyone who fought me honorably and prevailed. I was notorious for sniffing out ambushes. On two occasions, I WAS successfully ambushed. On both occasions, after a little howling, I tipped my hat to the opponents – and told them so, because they were clean, well-executed shots.

I was, however, also known for savage effectiveness in battle and absolute relentlessness. If you fought honorably and hard, there was nothing serious to fear from me. If you specialized in cheap shots, intimidation, and manipulation – and would not cease after a warning or two, I endeavored to end your career – and usually succeeded. When it comes to defending the people and beliefs I am charged with, I am not a nice guy.

Unfortunately, some of those most doctrinaire and energetic groups on our side have little prudence, discipline, or discernment. They are easily seduced by an enemy who tells them what they want to hear and ever ready to banish a friend who has a dissenting word. A few years back I was invited to meet with some of the leadership of a couple of prominent patriot groups. After doing some deeper research, I decided to quietly let it slide. A friend who had done some major political work with me asked me why. I dismissively told him that if I wanted to meet with the FBI, they have an office right in Denver. Sure enough, about two years later it became common knowledge that several of these groups were hotbeds for federal agents provocateurs.

I take very seriously my duty to protect and defend those who are given into my care for a time and those who ally with me. I will negotiate with the opposition when I can, fight honorably with them when I can’t, and fight for their complete destruction and removal from polite society if they will not have an honorable fight. I have techniques I almost never discuss that are effective in using their aggression against them to their destruction – but I don’t deploy such techniques until all doubt about their dishonorable intentions is dispelled. I do NOT require that they submit to my will: I am perfectly content to have them live whatever perverse delusions they want so long as they don’t try to force it on others. If we cannot meet even that low standard, then I am all hammer and tongs, even if it is often muffled behind a curtain. I am far more martial and militant than many, save those who know me most intimately, suspect. You need to know that.

For several years now the anti-God left has gleefully railroaded Christians and conservatives. We have almost a thousand political prisoners in Washington, held in prison for trumped-up trespassing charges for longer than most murderers, rapists, and arsonists get. While the DOJ refuses to seriously investigate the firebombing of churches and pro-life crisis pregnancy centers, they target pro-lifers for praying outside of abortion clinics. The DOJ is targeting parents who object to schools grooming their kids and targeting Catholics who attend traditional Masses. The left sinisterly describes all black and brown conservatives as actually β€œwhite supremacists.” They have left no doubt whatsoever what their intention is. Our offense is not that we have not been genteel enough, but that we have defended our brothers with insufficient vigor. To the left, my attitude is, Mene, mene, tekel upharsin.

I fired a warning shot across the left’s bow with that tweet. Most will not take it seriously, but some will have felt a chill. I don’t care how they react, but I am obligated to tell them true. As they are determined to utterly destroy Christian faith and jail all those who will not bow down to their toxic ideology, I am determined to utterly destroy that toxic ideology. I am open to those who repent. I am open to those who don’t repent, but don’t try to force others to bend to their will. For those who will do neither, I am coming for them. It may be subtle and stealthy, it may be open and hard, but I will not be genteel.

If you are my ally, you need to know this about me. I am always aware that I must eventually stand and give account for my choices before God, and I make those choices in that light. I am gentle and kind with my friends and with those who intend no harm, though they disagree profoundly with me. For the rest, they need to know that if they choose continued attacks on the faith and the faithful, or any other innocents, I will fight vigorously and relentlessly – not just complain. Near the end of the Chronicles of Narnia, Lucy notes that Aslan is not a tame lion, β€œbut he is a good one,” she adds. I endeavor to be good, but you are entitled to know I am not tame.

I have publicly laid out the corrupt left’s choices – and now they must choose or perish.

  1. This IS a very sobering piece and I love it, Charlie. You are who you are. The stakes are higher than ever as you live your own counsel to be deliberate. Actually, this piece sounds to me like the game of chicken is coming to an end. And what must come d.e.m.a.n.d.s. that you had a lifetime of training.   17. Bravo, Charlie! I joined the group initially because I felt you would lead folks to ACTION, not just talk. Then, over the last year, it started to seem like, no, just another group trying to make a buck, while “Meetin’, Eatin’ and Retreatin’ “. I was ready to cancel. But it appears that you at least are ready to fight.

    I believe I sent you information before, when I first subscribed. Not sure you read it. If so, you did not comment. I’m re-attaching an over-all. Will send you specific thoughts if you’re interested.

    We seem to share similar views on what needs to be done to save our Nation. I already lost my country of birth [Cuba], so I know the consequences of inaction.

    We don’t share the same faith. I mentioned this up front when I joined. But I do accept more of the features of Christianity than those of other religions. You might say I’m a “fellow traveler”.

    I feel it is unfortunate that your group is not more universal, but I understand. I encourage you to move your followers more into the ACTION phase of the fight. I’ve been trying to get more secular groups to do the same for years. A house has many rooms.

    One of the main things that needs to happen –and soon– is to get back in the streets. Folks did it for a while at the start of the Tea Party, and again now with Trump; but it is inconsistent and too passive. We need to be seen, every day, everywhere. * Whoever controls the public arena * *Ҁ¦Controls the Press **Ҁ¦Controls the Government!*

    I’m in healthcare and worked through that disaster, and I’m more shocked now that I’m out of it and very much understanding what we survived. Back then we were just trying to do everything to keep people alive and keep our families safe from THEM, not the bug. And then the secondary and tertiary deaths! Did you know that people who got vaccines and who have organ transplants are ‘suddenly” rejecting their new organs? Not to mention every other medical disaster we’ve heard of with those poisons.

    And that’s not even the J6, Jeffery Epstein, and all of the other corruption out there …Love in the public square is justice served. I want justice. I want it in the church, as well, but we have to start somewhere.

I was going to ask Charlie if he thinks my prayer is not pleasing to God: I pray every day for the Holy Spirit to shine His light on all evil to destroy it, to destroy all the blindness in the world, and (this is the part) to strike down those He knows will never be converted, so their evil is stopped. That’s worse than jail that you wish for, but is it too strong, Lord? There are similar Scriptures, it seems to me. I have not discerned to this point that it’s a misguided prayer. 😟

        1. Thanks be to God for Susan and her beautiful work, her prayer and ALL the many ways we can pray for God’s Intervention in our times. The key ingredient in this prayer is: “May we turn back to you with our whole heart and be transformed in your image.” People must r.e.s.p.o.n.d. to the outpouring of graces which have been flowing, touching even the most hardened of hearts, via SO many types of devotions and prayers, including appealing to Our Lady of Sorrows as well as sacrificial offerings and fasting. There is no magic bullet in prayer which will guarantee that someone will be saved, for there is no one prayer more powerful than another when prayers are offered from the heart, united with the Lord. I think it is THE saddest tragedy on earth when one exerts his human free will to reject the abundance of graces freely poured out upon him and it is incredulous to a believer as to why one would choose the ensuing eternal consequence when that one rejects God and His Mercy. Still, we pray for conversion as we are a people of hope.

            I love the message someone said (WOW, I thought.) that at the Wedding Feast, Mary did NOT tell Jesus what to do. She merely stated the problem. My new go-to way to pray.

  21. Charlie, I read your tweet on Twitter a little while after you posted it. I wasn’t sure what to make of it (though I heartily agree with its point), so this post here has helped me a lot to figure out the context behind your tweet. I’ve been all for making the Democrat Party and its fellow travelers utter anathema in our future for years.

    What *did* strike me as interesting about the appearance of that tweet is that it arrived right about the time events and news in the rest of the world “out there” also appear to have taken an abrupt turn toward action and even payback in much the same way.

    I was struck by the coincidence-not-a-coincidence feeling of it all.

    We have together crossed some kind of Rubicon, in spirit, heart and mind. I am no action figure, more of a thinker and advisor, but even I am stirred by this strong change in the world’s direction.

    The Storm is finally here.

        I agree Doug. Two things come to mind … first, β€œtiming is everything” and as Charlie has pointed out, this is part of the Rescue. The extent of the utter evil, rot and corruption is being exposed for all to see. Choose or Perish.

        There was something positive yesterday. The awesome Bishop Strickland came to CA to lead a prayer service yesterday before the Dodger game and their horrible award to the blasphemous “Sisters of……..” There were supposedly thousands of people present praying, and as I looked at the chat going on, there were people from ALL over the world praying too! At lease it was before the game for the “award”, and almost no fans were there yet. Thank you, Lord, for little signs of goodness.

  27. The final straw for *MANY* will be the exploitation and sacrifice of children. There will also be many who don’t want to know about it so stop reading if you don’t want to know. Jim Caviezel has a new movie coming out that dares to bring up the subject. The Left think they are bringing “democracy” to the masses with their open border policies but all they are bringing is death, rape and torture upon the most innocent of all, the children. My first action when I learned of all this was to put a complete stop to any donations to Catholic Charities. They are just one of many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are participating in this evil. My next action was to write to my Bishop and tell him why I would not give to the diocese if any of those funds was diverted to Catholic Charities. My sister works at a public school outside of Houston and tells me about all the young children brought to the school to enroll them by men who do not look to be the child’s parent and they are usually young girls. The next step for most parents, IMHO, is to pull them out of a public schools. It may cost you money now to send them to private school or to homeschool them but, in the final measure, it will be worth it ten times over. We may have rejoiced over the end of Roe vs. Wade, and rightly so, but the devil wants his blood sacrifice to continue and it is happening with child trafficking. I am not sure what my next right step will be other than shedding the light of truth on this darkness. Yes, we need to “Joan/Charlie up” and save God’s children. They belong to Him and we should end the attempts to buy and sell them. Vengeance belongs to God but we have to arrange for the meeting. I think we are knee-deep in the Rubicon now and when we get to the other side, our swords need to be drawn to save these Innocents. Let “Save the children!” be my cry.

However, people should know that non-Catholic religious NGOs are as bad or worse, and secular groups which used to do good works have also been suborned (apparently, The Red Cross is one of these). Before anyone gives anything to any charity, we need to use fine discernment.

      BTW, Michael Yon, who is covering the mass migration through Panama into the US has stated that Secretary Mayorkas recently visited at least one camp near the Darien Gap and approved more money to expand it and possibly build another one nearby. I paid my taxes this year, but it hurts my heart that a good portion of my money is going to two of the most rotten projects currently extant, funding the invasion of the US up through Central America and funding Ukraine to protect the massive hubs of corruption, trafficking and biowarfare lab networks that are based there.

While it is easy to criticize “leftist” ideas, especially those that seek to promote the idea that God must be driven out of society so that true good can be done, I wonder sometimes if we shouldn’t do a better job taking to task those with a more conservative leaning that simply want to bludgeon their “ideological opponents” or those that are giving into this game of seeking power in whatever way they can rather than relying upon solid principles to guide their actions?

    When we seek to bludgeon others rather than speaking the truth in love, or seek power for the sake of power or independent of the truth of reality–like some have seemingly done, especially at the state level–it seems one does great damage to how seriously more traditional and/or conservative ideas are taken.

    It also saddens me when those like the more conservative Supreme Court justices also take part in, seemingly quite obvious, conflicts of interest.

    It just seems like there are many that are not acting out of any sort of grounding principles, and especially Judea-Christian principles. It is putting on the clothes of Christianity, but without blood of Jesus flowing through our veins animating our entire body, soul, and spirit (I include myself in this).

    And truly, maybe this is the norm rather than the exception in society.
    Wealth, power, honor, and pleasure are powerful masters that beckon our way and our fallen nature seems more than happy to give into these idols.

    1. I agree that speaking truth in love is an excellent way, Philip. However, this assumes that the other person (or people) is honest and open to seeking truth. The Left is neither honest nor open to seeking truth.

      Many of us probably know stories of how a kid who was being bullied and the parents advised the one being bullied to stand up to the abuser. Often, a physical rebuke is exactly what tamed the bully. Sometimes, it takes a tough approach to shut down abuse.

          That is so true and an important thing to remember. Obviously, the question underlying this is what does “fighting” look like in each situation we may encounter? I imagine it looks different based on each unique situation we encounter.

          I’ve had more than a few encounters where someone was brought back to Christ because someone didn’t bludgeon them over the head with how they were wrong, but simply loved them back to Life.
          This seems to be a distinction between condemning the ideas and actions, vs. condemning a whole group of people (e.g., “the left”, Democrats, etc.). As well as focusing on the individual rather than the group identity.

Certainly, Philip, when dealing with large groups of people, some need a pat on the back and an encouraging word for motivation, some need a kick in the rump, and some recalcitrants must simply be defeated if you are going to defend the faith and the faithful. Woe to those who give a kick in the rump to those who need an encouraging word or to those who give an encouraging word to those who need a kick in the rump. And especially woe to those who insist on peace with those who must be defeated if the faithful are to survive. I will confess that I get impatient with those Christians who think to prove their piety by being nice to everyone no matter how much damage they do. These have forgotten the face of the Christ who says He did not come to bring peace, but a sword. As you know, I am really not big on one-size-fits-all formulas.

            AS for the medical community, I don’t think they got lucky at all. They are frantically working to suppress awareness that all-cause excess deaths this year are up 40 percent from last year which was, itself up, over 20 percent from the previous year. Excess deaths are up dramatically at a historic pace and speeding up. I said I expected about two years before it kicked in dramatically. It did…and the frantic efforts of the medical profession to hide it is mitigating people’s awareness, but how they are going to deal with the reality that it continues to speed up only means they can delay, not stop, the cultural awareness of the reality that a deadly poison has been injected into the larger population. The reality is that the decade of the 30’s will open with significantly smaller populations in almost all industrialized countries in the world than this decade opened with – and it is completely a man-made disaster.

            2. Yes, Charlie, it appears it will go in phases, with the circulatory issues first, turbo cancers now, and possibly brain damage as the last wave. You once said at least 20M people would die in the Storm here in the US. Say it’s 30M. That’s 7-8% of our current population dead. Many more will remain alive but seriously injured. If you take 8% of the global population dead, that’s well over 500M people.

              But that may not be all of the damage. Many vaxxxed countries are already experiencing significant drops in fertility. About 140M babies were born in 2016. A 15% drop in fertility at that rate of births would be a loss of 21M births each year or over 200M lower births over the decade from 2021 to 2030.

              So, yes, the early 2030s could indeed start with almost 1 *billion* fewer people on the planet than otherwise would have been here by then. And a billion more so badly damaged they need significant amounts of care.

              Transparency and Justice are truly needed. We all need to learn the lessons needed to make sure that this never happens again.

              Right, being “nice” is not loving. And it is so true that each of has our own personality in how we approach these things and the Lord will use it all, including our missteps and weakness, as long as we give Him permission to do so. There is no “magic bullet” or one-size-fits-all as you mention.

              (Which always amuses me to hear some people who pontificate saying, “if we only do this it would solve all our problems…”)

              And, when it comes to your personal reflections, I do have to remember that your job was in politics and political “punditry” for lack of a better word, so one shouldn’t be surprised if this is a lens through with you personally notice things. I do have to admit, I love your reflections on faith and morals more so than the political ruminations. They have personally helped me grow closer to our Lord and Lady more than the political “merry-go-round.” And this is not a criticism, but just my own personal reflections. πŸ™‚

              And this is the third option I didn’t mention since in the moment it is hard to parse the excess deaths. Since collecting all the data does take some time looking back.

              I do hope that there is some way to compare excess deaths in persons of different vaccination status, as that would be the primary way it would seem to see what effect it truly has had.

              Do we have any actual hard evidence yet of the medical profession trying to mitigate people’s awareness of it?

      2. I couldn’t agree more that there are so many that are just not honestly open to discovering the truth of reality. (I’ve had many conversations with people online trying to work towards truth together, and it just wouldn’t get anywhere.)

        Now, it is also true that we also have to be humble because it is easy to fall into this trap ourselves where we think we are seeking the truth, but we can be seeking to confirm what we want to be the truth.
