(I have posted less these last few weeks than normal. When confronted with major new phenomena, I like to examine and ponder minutely. It is perhaps a bit of vanity that I want what I write to hold up over time, so knowing that I will get some things wrong, I try hard to get it as close to right as I possibly can so I have a firm foundation to build on. When many people whose judgment I respect have significantly different takes than I do, I examine them carefully – not for fear of offending them, but for fear of missing something significant. Since I have made it my firm policy since my early 20’s to candidly admit to error as soon as I recognize it, I take great pains to avoid it when I can, without giving in to fearful silence that risks nothing. I expect to be back to a more normal schedule this week – as I have worried this subject to death, contemplating the religious, social and political consequences of all that has beset us – while charting a nascent course through hope and normalcy under God. -CJ)

The Republic is dead; Long live the Republic
The most troubling thing about this Covid business is that none of it adds up. Draconian measures were adopted shutting down much of the world because, we were assured, this was the Godzilla of viruses set to rampage across the globe, spreading death and destruction everywhere. The estimates and models have continually been revised as the emergence of the virus actually bore more resemblance to the little green Geico gecko, sans the charming British accent and with a mildly venomous bite.
It is not just that all the projections and models have been wildly wrong (though they have), but that there has been large-scale intentional bowdlerization of the numbers that we do have. Deaths from other causes are being attributed to Covid – and it is not even being hidden. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) encouraged medical personnel to attribute otherwise undistributed deaths due to flu, pulmonary, respiratory and heart diseases to Covid. I don’t understand why. I have gone through all manner of reverse engineering scenarios and still can’t quite get to the heart of all this.
Some folks at the top were genuinely frightened out of their minds early on about this. Who and why? It wasn’t the left – though they jumped in enthusiastically once they realized how they could leverage it to assert power over ordinary people who had become largely immune to all their threats and insults. The fact is, though, that in the early days of this developing, the left was universally dismissing the seriousness of it. (It is only since the projected numbers have shown to be magnified by at least a factor of 10 that the left became vested in making it seem to be far more than meets the eye rather than far less.) It was the experts themselves who were scared witless early on. Again, the question is why. It can’t just be because this is a new virus. All viruses mutate. We get a new one when two or more combine, producing an entirely new strain. It is a normal process that happens about every five to 10 years. So why the raw terror over this one? The H1N1 of a decade ago infected a lot more people than it looks like this one will.
A lot of top medical professionals have argued that, however justified the original reasons for the initial unprecedented panic, those fears have proven false. As one wit put it, it turns out that “this is a virus, not the zombie apocalypse.” However spooked ordinary doctors were at the beginning, a growing number have had enough of getting bad information from official sources. The thing is, those who say this has been a case of unjustified panic have cited statistics and their clinical observations from real patients to justify their conclusions. Those who further the panic have tended to use raw emotion to try to keep the fear level high. I have seen several argue that if you have not worked the sickrooms or seen people struggle for breath or die in your arms, you have nothing to say about this. What utter balderdash! If you promise to deliver me 400 lbs. of acceptable grade pork and instead deliver 400 lbs. of fat and gristle, I do not need to have raised the hogs and toted the feed to know I have been sold a pig in a poke. Give a plausible answer to the question of why all your statements have been so horribly wrong and hold the maudlin histrionics. It’s a dodge, not an answer. And yet, with all this, there is still the question of why there was such panic among governmental medical officials in the first place.
It could be that this was that blackest of swans, a spontaneous mass hysteria that gripped all the top policy makers at the same time. It is rare, but such things have happened in great societies before (if never before globally). But what if those experts knew something they are NOT telling us that justified their terror?
All viruses mutate. Most just have superficial annual rearrangements of surface proteins, called antigen drift, that can give us the sniffles before our immune system recognizes it as fundamentally something we have had before and fights it off. Approximately every five to 10 years, we get a genuinely new virus – which arises when two or more different strains combine to form something novel. This is called antigen shift – and it is from these new strains that all pandemics arise – because our immune systems are not trained at all to deal with them. Until our immune systems have developed that training, the new virus can affect many more people than it will be able to after the normal adjustment of our immune systems. Most of the time, these new viruses are annoying rather than particularly deadly. Every hundred years or so we get one that requires serious action. It has been a hundred years since the last really serious, highly infectious new virus made landing – the Spanish Flu that swept the world from 1917 to 1921. Even so, that does not justify the raw panic that caused us to collapse the global economy as a measure of fighting this latest novel virus.
We know to near certainty that this virus came from the Wuhan Viral Laboratory that specializes in research on coronaviruses. A growing number of people with expertise in the field plausibly assert that this virus was engineered by man (like a hybrid animal or plant species). That does not mean it was engineered to be a bio-weapon, though that is one reason for such bio-engineering. One of the things most commonly suggested was that it was being developed in hopes of finding an effective vaccine for AIDs. As a simplified general rule, the more infectious a virus is, the less deadly it is. The more deadly it is, the harder it is to get infected by it. Ebola has a near 90% mortality rate, but it is very hard to be infected with it. AIDs is almost entirely transmitted through blood-to-blood contact. It is mercurial; sometimes symptoms never develop and at others they don’t develop for years – but if they do develop, the mortality rate is pretty much 100%. As anyone who has ever been involved with cross-breeding knows, it is a tricky business. You try to combine the best qualities, but the results are often unexpected and profoundly counter-intuitive. It makes sense to me that, if an experiment involving a cross with the AIDs Virus accidentally escaped, the top experts would be scared out of their minds. It could be totally inert, it could be deadly and infectious, but no one would know until we had direct experience. The idea that we might end up with a virus that was both terribly infectious AND deadly would, indeed, terrify the experts – and it was much more likely if it was engineered than if it developed naturally. What if some of our American experts were collaborators in this research and knew what was going on? Well, it turns out that the National Institute of Health (NIH) WAS helping facilitate the Wuhan Laboratory’s research with a $3.7 million grant. Don’t blame Barack Obama for that. Back in 2014 he permanently forbade NIH from giving any funding to Wuhan and several other suspect viral research laboratories. Turns out Dr. Anthony Fauci ignored Obama’s order. So, if some American bureaucratic medical authorities KNEW what was going on in Wuhan and were actually complicit in facilitating it, this has little to do with public health and a lot to do with covering those bureaucrats’ hind sides.
I have been flummoxed by how little most people know about the basics of virology – and by the lack of curiosity about it even in the midst of a crisis created by fear of a virus. Too many would just prefer to defer to the “experts” even when the experts’ assertions are visibly proven badly wrong on a weekly basis. All sorts of pompous poppycock has been spread in sepulchral tones to keep people fearful. A few examples:
- Herd immunity only works on viruses that don’t mutate. Wrong! All viruses mutate.
- There is no cure for this virus. Right, but utterly irrelevant. There is no cure for any virus. Viruses are not cured; they are stopped by developing enough of a herd immunity that they can no longer survive. That sometimes happens naturally, but in modern times we have helped the process along by immunizations. Vaccines are NOT a cure. Rather, they inject a person with weakened strains of the virus to trigger an immune response and the formation of antibodies.
- The second wave will be a killer. Could be, but usually isn’t. Once a virus is in the mix, it is there permanently every season unless the herd immunity grows so strong that the virus is effectively eradicated (this is how smallpox was ultimately destroyed). Almost always the second wave is weaker than the initial debut of a virus – simply because a partial herd immunity has been established and the surface mutations that make for succeeding waves are superficial. Every few hundred years, those surface restructurings somehow hit a formula that is MORE virulent than the original wave. That is what happened with the Spanish Flu from 1917-1921. That is one of the rarest of phenomena. Most lasting pandemics in older days got their staying power from mass ignorance of basic hygiene. This is why all the social distancing and masks and such make it MORE likely that the second wave will be bad, for we are impeding the development of a full herd immunity in order to mitigate the first wave. That strategy makes sense if the first wave is particularly virulent, but little sense if it is not. Sweden’s strategy, which refused to destroy its economy and isolate its population, will emerge as the clear winner come the late fall.
- Antibodies are useless against this virus and there is no immunity. If that is true, there is no hope. Efforts at developing a vaccine would be useless – for the purpose of vaccines is to trigger immune reactions and develop antibodies.
What most bothers me is that a lot of this stuff is being said by people who have actual knowledge about such things. Since I know they know better, I can only conclude they are intentionally gaslighting the public – and that supports my growing theory that they have screwed up hugely and are trying to cover it by intentionally fomenting chaos and confusion.
If this is a man-made hybrid that has the equivalent of a delayed fuse for its most serious consequences, we have a rough time ahead of us. All the precautions we are taking now will not change that a whit. If it is not and we concede that all these draconian rules were worthwhile, even after reality showed it was fairly innocuous, then it would be perfectly legitimate to enact these draconian rules on a regular basis for things that we deal with several times each decade without destroying the social compact.
We have shredded the Constitution and destroyed a lot of people’s lives and livelihoods for a virus that, unless it was engineered to have a delayed effect, is within the normal range of new viruses. Idiotically, our experts now claim that it is our response that stopped Godzilla rather than that Godzilla never existed in the first place in order to justify their abuses. If that were true, those areas that did NOT respond early or with draconian rules would be in the midst of a true disaster. But it has followed the same pattern regardless of a region’s approach. By continuing to submit to emergency measures that inhibit those rights given us by God, we give preemptive permission to the budding authoritarians who have emerged among our governors and mayors to shut us down and suspend our rights any time they choose by declaring ordinary events an “emergency.” If we lack the common sense and the gumption to demand better than this, I guess we deserve the permanent loss of liberty and joy that is now clearly in sight.
Five hundred years from now, this will be viewed much the same as Nero’s burning of Rome for his own pleasure and, ironically, to destroy Christians. Our Churches, our communities, our first responders – all of us have some critical decisions to make very soon. The anti-God left has tried and failed to use coercion, accusation, and shaming to impose authoritarian socialist rule on this country. It has found a shiny new toy – unjustified fear. If, because of fear of getting sick, we willingly forfeit our liberty, we will not enter into a brave new world of serene social justice; we will be governed by roving bands of rival warlords and everything, including mortality from infectious disease, will skyrocket. The near 250 years of the American experiment has been a holiday from the savagery, depravity, brutality and strife that is the constant norm in world history. To our credit in America, we exported that liberty and robust prosperity to much of the rest of the globe, as we considered our Christian duty. Now we have come to the crossroads and must soon choose or see that liberty and prosperity perish from the face of the earth, receding back into the barbarous quest for power that history has always been.
America, America. This whole covid19 episode has been nearly u.n.b.e.l.i.e.v.a.b.l.e. I write “nearly” because so many things have been upside down in the last few years and I expect there’ll be more unimaginable scenarios to come.
God is our ROCK and He makes all things new. Walking with TNRS as our banner of sanity, ready to continue co-creating with His Plan to make all things new.

OVID-19 Life-Saving Strategies the News Media Will Never Tell You By Paul Thomas MD
Dr. Paul (Paul Thomas MD FAAP) Pediatrician to over 15,000, author of The Vaccine-Friendly Plan, and one of the founding directors of Physicians for Informed Consent (PIC), founder of PHOInitiative.org (Pediatric Health Outcomes Initiative) – has just released his timely book "COVID-19 Life Saving Strategies the News Media will never tell you". Health Freedom has never been under attack like it is today.
A systematic massive effort is unfolding before our eyes to use the fear of COVID-19 to get the world to roll up their sleeves for an untested, likely dangerous vaccine, while implementing social tracking and solidifying mandatory vaccines for all. Learn what you can actually do to minimize getting COVID-19 and what to do if you do get an infection. Talk will also touch on the topic of herd immunity and the potential pitfalls of the vaccines being developed.

Thank you, Maggie. I will continue to sprinkle the highlights and links to the speakers here. Each one offered valuable information that was new and familiar to me. This grassroots summit is a great example of how we are uniting and expanding our conscientiousness and body of strength from what was our neck of the woods to a world stage. My ability to have the time to sift through hours of testimony in a subject I can relate to is the little I can do to share concrete knowledge on a broader scale. God bless and keep all involved and may our guardian angel guide our steps and the Holy Spirit sanctify our holy deeds. ❤

Interesting post. I have wondered along similar lines. A couple of things concern me. First, Trump is not one to be pushed around if he disagrees with the crowd. For this reason, I think he absolutely believed/believes that Covid was a serious enough threat to shut the country down, understanding full well what the impact would be on the economy he has worked so hard to improve. Second, I agree that covid is a man-made virus, but as such can we expect it to act like a natural virus. Can we use historical data to project at all what this virus will do? That could be legitimately frightening to decision makers who have to decide what to do when all the facts won’t be in for a long time – maybe even years. Finally, from what my friends in medicine have said, they think that Covid is much more contagious than the flu. the question to me isn’t which is worse flu or covid, but what will happen if both occur in the same season. It’s not. a zero-sum game. Will the presence of Covid double the total flu season” deaths because you now have two nasty bugs going around, and both are lethal to people with similar co-morbidity. I would not want to be in the position of having to call the shots on this one, and there will be a lot of second guessing. I do think there is more going on behind the scenes than we may ever know. I pray for our leaders, they have a tough job and have clay feet just like the rest of us.

I’m glad to read this post, and glad to hear that you think you’ll be posting a little bit more frequently. I try not to rely on your blog, or anyone other than God for comfort, but do take some comfort and reading your assessments. I’m humbly asking everyone here for your prayers. My 22-year-old daughter is marrying a wonderful, faith-filled man on May 16. We have been praying and praying and praying for a “beautiful, happy and holy” wedding on their planned day, and have entrusted this petition to St. Joseph since mid-February. Today the governor of our state (Ohio) has announced the reopening plan, but wedding receptions are still limited to “no more than 10 people” which does not even cover the 2 immediate families. While the wedding itself is not regulated (as such) by the state, our Archbishop has asked the parishes to follow the state’s general guidelines. Our pastor is okay having both families, grandparents and the wedding party present, and for that I am grateful. I know that we are not alone, and that many families have had to deal with much worse. I am also sure that most of you can appreciate the heartbreak that these circumstances engender in a parent. Over time, I’ve come to understand that the miracle we receive may be a miracle of grace, and the ability to see the beauty in God’s will, and to take or happiness from that. Still, this is wearing on us. To some extent, we have put off thinking about it, hoping that the expected reopening would give us much more freedom to celebrate than it has. (As it stands, my wife and daughters cannot even get their hair done!) Now we have to move forward, and it’s going to be very hard. Thanks, in advance, to all of you for your prayers. I think often of St. Joseph’s heartbreak when he witnessed Our Lady’s grief at St. Simeon’s prophecy, and all their trials on the way to Egypt. The powerlessness to spare a loved one from pain is such agony. But all is grace. Pray for all of us that we will see, and that our day truly will be beautiful, happy and holy. Thank you, and God bless you.

I’m glad the couple is taking the vows more seriously than the party. It seems like they have their priorities straight, which is the most important thing.

Thank you Charlie. I have been feeling anxious lately about this – mostly for those affected because of the lockdowns (I’m in infamous Michigan) and those who whole heartedly take MSM and Governor’s pleas for “saving lives” at face value …. I have loved diving deeper into our faith and growing closer to the Holy Family. I pray that we are all ready to take TNRS! God bless everyone.

We’re kind of in the same boat. My son and his fiancee have a wedding planned for the end of July in the state of Washington, but as we sit here today, who knows if it will go as planned or not. I’m thinking not. As they are shacked up and the ONLY thing I care about is the marriage, I told them we could be there in 2 days time at a moment’s notice if they want to just get the married part completed. So I’ll pray for you and yours and you pray for me and mine:) Let not our hearts be troubled.

YES, Charlie!! I’m sure many of us have been thinking of at least some of these truths you express! The whole mess makes no sense, unless it is being used for some other reason.
Beckita, the video you put up of the two doctors at the end of the last post/comments, was great. My point is that if it doesn’t make sense, not logical, something is wrong with this picture!
Of course there’s the old slogan, “Never let a crisis go to waste”. There’s that also – advance the socialist and/or the one world government agenda. Your 2 doctors, Beckita, know something is going on.

Annie, I do believe the “panic” was engineered by our own medical bureaucracy for enhancing self-importance. Implicit in Charlie’s excellent review of what happened, and how the governmental response was exaggerated, are three propositions, the first a good guess, and the other two standard principles of bureaucracy and media-politics.
1. As Charlie pointed out, the good doctor Fauci was involved ,not only in training of Chinese virologists, but even funding their research at Wuhan. My guess is that he thought at first that the outbreak was not going to be so bad, but then panicked about his involvement in funding their research facility.
2. Once fear was cascading, our federal medical bureaucracy sized the opportunity to generate a fear that would serve to enhance their self-importance, and generate funding for themselves and their big pharma allies.
3. The Democrat leadership and their media allies saw an opportunity to blame Pres Trump for a Katrina-like screw up in mismanaging a medical “crisis” whatever the facts. And with the economy riding high enough to get Trump re-elected, they were eager to see the economy killed, despite the massive injury to jobs and businesses, and quality of life–evil at work.

I headed out Sunday just to get away from this ongoing nonsense, which is funny because it’s extreme social distancing. Enjoyed the quiet, then heard some cows heading my way down a sandy trail. Thought I’d crouch down behind some scrub to let them get close, then eased up when they were nearly on top of me. Their reaction reminded me of my last trip to the grocery store where too many finicky folks act as if they’re having to navigate a leper colony. I think this momma didn’t much care about masks or arrows in the sand. Just your run of the mill cow protecting her calves. Naturally, I’m good with that, but it still had me chuckling.

I read this article (thank you Charlie) and I am experiencing a feeling that I am not sure if it’s numbness or peaceful. I am putting this whole COVID thing in a context of prophecies that go from Fatima in 1917 to Medjugorje which is still ongoing. Since Fatima, and you go even further back to LaSalette in the 1800s, we have been told by Our Lady to turn back to God to avoid a chastisement that will befall us, and we haven’t. Without getting into all of the elements of why we are where we are, I believe that all we can do is trust in God, take the next right step and be a sign of hope. You could probably add one more element. Pray a daily rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet pleading with Our Lord and Our Lady to help us against the tide of darkness coming our way. Christus Vincit!

I would like to hear more of how we can handle this madness. TNRS

Thanks so much Charlie. When I first scanned the writing I thought you were angry & told my husband so. But after completing my daily rosary & chaplet and then sitting down to read it in its entirety, I find I was wrong. Not angry, just…flummoxed? Throwing up your arms and shouting, “What’s wrong with you people?” I agree with one commenter that I, too, am surprised that the President was taken in. Perhaps the dawning of the reality of the numbers has pushed him to open back up.
I grew tired of the whole thing two weeks ago and called my sons’ families and said Gramma’s coming to visit! We all have the same germs. Our little hospital has empty beds and our supplies are plentiful. There is even toilet paper back on the shelves…that has to tell you something right there.😉 Folks are working from home, kids are thriving with their school-issued chrome books and every day we see our neighbors and wave and say, “How’s it going?” And the answers are all the same, “Great!” Here in our little town we are having a pretty pleasant time of it. I told my husband that I wonder what the flu statistics are for the last five years and do they compare with the ..oh, wait, how can we compare when the Covid statistics are skewed? Pooh. Two years ago, 6,000 people in our town of 10,000 had the flu. Even me! But we got over it. No one has this Covid that we know of… and Everyone misses church.
I pray for all of us, the President, the pope and all of us here at ASOH every day and sometimes when I wake in the night. I pray for you, Charlie, Beckita & Fr. Wang in my daily intercessions.
God bless us and keep us for He is good and we are in His hands. Amen, amen.

Good insights Charlie!
It’s a Liberal Apocalypse, the Liberals are the zombies!
I’ve been wondering if this Coronovirus crisis is what Conchita was referring to when she said: “When Communism comes again everything will happen.”
Obviously, draconian measures have been taken, Globalism failed with the election of Trump, BREXIT, and Climate Change scam. The global elite are desperate to assume absolute control, and the next big danger might be a Covid 19 vaccine that sterilizes the majority of the human population (genetic genocide). Obviously, if there’s any truth to farmers plowing their produce back into the ground and meat factories shutting down, is there going to be a food shortage in the future?

Charlie, it is not only the governors and mayors that are in love with “bossiness”. I have run into any number of “social distancing nazis” who now feel justified bossing anyone around because it’s for the common good, you know. I am reminded of “The Scouring of the Shire” the penultimate chapter of The Lord of the Rings.

By delayed fuse … are you thinking second wave coming OR recurrence of serious illness in those that have seemingly recovered? I guess per the HIV component it would be the latter?

Also if Fauci etc were trying to cover their backsides, wouldn’t they downplay the danger vs exaggerate it? To me if choosing the fomenting hysteria route, they had to be part of a bigger and more organized plot. One that ensured fear would result in enough destabilization to protect them. I’m still wary of the timely Gates Foundation funded Coronavirus study and his vocal lobbying for longer shutdown.

I don’t think so, Irish. If you feared a real disaster you helped cause, you would not necessarily try to downplay it, but to overplay it ascribing it to different causes than your malfeasance.

“The second wave will be a killer.”
” Could be, but usually isn’t. Once a virus is in the mix, it is there permanently every season unless the herd immunity grows so strong that the virus is effectively eradicated” (C.J.).
An article publishing comments by the scientist Dr. Robert Gallo, who discovered the aids virus, tells how he recognised certain man-made additions to the virus and consideres it not a bio-weapon but rather a result of research to find a better vectoring component for an aids vaccine that escaped. He further concluded that the virus will mutate back to its original form as a matter of natural selection and this lends to its evolution to a less deadly form as a deadly form does not survive long because it kills its host animal. This then accounts for some researchers saying it is man-made (those that saw it before it reverted back to its natural form) and those who conclude it is a natural form (those we see it after its return to a more natural state). This is one of the problems of those with no expertise in a virus’ natural history predicting what may or may not happen or what they are seeing. They have a limited view based on limited experience of a virus’ multifaceted survival technique.

It’s time for a laugh.
When I was about 10 years old back in 1954-5, I had been devouring books of heroic saints and martyrs. My life was Eisenhower boring. I remember making a bit of a shrine on the wall above my bed with my drawings of martyrs and valiant holy people. My current favorite was Rose of Lima, followed by Catherine of Siena. One evening I stood on my bed, surveying all the saints, and shook my fist at God and angrily demanded why had I been born in such boring times??? Why???
True story. At age 10 I obviously lacked patience. For some reason this prayer experience has stayed with me crystal clear and I have remembered it when I’ve been in some tight places.

Ha! So it’s all your fault. Apparently God decided to answer your prayers.
I’m old enough that, as a kid, at school, we would do those exercises where we would go out into the hall, sit and put our head between our knees. This was the drill for a potential nuclear attack. Even in 2nd grade, I realized this was not going to do a doggone bit of good – except make the nervous types feel good that they were “doing something.” I have been thinking as LOT about those drills as this business has unfolded.

Ha! I thought the same thing, Charlie. Squatting under our desks for a tornado drill made some sense. Sitting in the hallway with our heads between our knees in the events of an *air raid* only made sense if we were going to kiss our rears goodbye, imho! ❤

Katicos: At age 12 @ grade 6 and after hearing a presentation by my teacher (Catholic grade school) on what I heard as getting a “Cross” from Him himself, I went home and prayed fervently for a Crucifix to be delivered overnight onto my bedroom bureau. I’m not kidding. Taking my mother into confidence I explained to her my prayer. Then she explained what the teacher actually probably said on a cross in life to bear like Christ on the Cross. I was aghast. Well anyway didn’t know then that no one escapes bearing a cross sometime in your life.

Great essay. There is so much for us all to think about. I’ve been around, thanks be to God, and this is all simply unprecedented. I actually give the American people a lot of credit, regardless of background it feels like we all had to become PhD’s overnight. The conversation for many people quickly becomes tedious, too many acronyms and way too much conflicting advice. So they have to rely on experts, give them a listen and follow the advice that makes sense. I’m very proud of President Trump and the entire team at the White House, as well as the governor in my state, even though he’s a Democrat and I expected the worst, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. President Trump had the weight of the world on him, God bless the man. I think the leadership shown at the top has been very good. Based on what most of us knew, it was bad, very bad. Trump showed he cared more about lives than the market he has so lovingly built up. Some Democrat governors ran with it, tyranny is in their blood but anti-tyranny is in American DNA and it shall not be tolerated in most places. I mean, Michigan?? I’ve been encouraged by the refusal of Americans to put up with the over-reach. Americans hunkered down, we did that, but pushed back when it became obvious it was going too far. The Republic is not dead. We have a lot of baby birds, the people who run to the leaders and open their mouths waiting for the worm to drop in, but more people who don’t. Maybe in 20 years that won’t be true, who knows.
The second wave is a concern, yes. But we’ve all been living for weeks not really knowing if we’ll live or die, frankly. A mass immersion course in mortality and how real it is. I have not noticed a mass conversion to God, the One who holds all our lives in His hands, which is too bad. People talk about being “strong”, when a tiny molecule puts us six feet under rather quickly. We are fragile, but He is strong. Although I am impressed with how all we “spoiled” Americans manned up pretty quickly when we had to.
Personally I can only see this as a thump on the head from God for our sins. A nation and a world that embraces the evil we do should not expect to avoid things like pandemics. I wish we’d wake up.

Charlie– this passage is what struck me the most–“If we lack the common sense and the gumption to demand better than this, I guess we deserve the permanent loss of liberty and joy that is now clearly in sight.” This has been what I’ve been thinking about most. I want to resist injustices that are being foisted on us and I would be happy to protest. That’s why I’ve been going to Mass every day, because I know it is my right. I’ve contacted my mayor and governor. Do you have any suggestions on how we can “demand better than this”?

I am working harder on that matter than anything else, Kim. Actually, I think there is little to be done right now other than to protest and resist. The key is to be organized for the “second wave” of juvenile power-mongering that is sure to follow this regardless of what happens with the virus.

Charlie, I wholeheartedly agree. I had a deep sense about this when the masses were cancelled. Initially I had an unproductive panic of sorts.
The young man who is leading the charge here did so because none of the other organized groups were willing to pick up the gauntlet. This is the only effective leadership I see in my entire state, and I am looking.

Kim, I would do the same as you, if it were but an option. And I’d like to thank you for doing so. Your collective, courageous example is a light shining forth for those who tremble. It shows what can and ought be done. You all have set the correct tone from the start.
Unfortunately, where I am, we’ve seen our church leaders idolize our elected officials. This has been our Bizzaro World for a long time here—every since I can recall. Not only do they obey without question, but they anticipate and accommodate. It greatly angered me but now that has softened to sadness. Now a realization is dawning in me that we are in a very, very small minority here. I have to keep pinching myself because, I’m sure that can’t be correct. I can’t be the only Scrappy Do left with a fighting spirit that questions the poisoned narrative. It’s just not possible. Among all the praying people? Not possible.
However, in the christian people who have leadership skills, I see only the attitude that it’s what we have to live with and to fight is not possible. What I see is a Narnian “dwarves are for the dwarves” mentality. I see a turning inward for all resources, including spiritual, that is not conducive to any good lasting solution.

For me, great hope lies in knowing that God will bless and multiply whatever effort we put forth to speak and stand for truth. It may f.e.e.l. like we’re ineffective, like our words and deeds are lost in the current darkness… but they are not. They ripple, far and wide, bringing change we cannot yet see. We ARE the loaves and fishes in the hands of Christ which He blesses in our time and multiplies beyond our imagining. Perhaps this sounds grandiose. It’s really not; it’s a living faith, hope and love in each of us willing to contemplate as a means of acknowledging God and willing to take any risk involved in the next right steps to which we’re called, pressing on in the difficulties even when it seems no one sees what we see and we fell as if we’re getting nowhere. We are the yeast, fermenting the massive dough of dullness all around us. Soon – and very soon, please Lord – each person will have a visitation from the Lord and, then, watch the masses rise.

Beckita, this is timely and most needed.
A funny thought occurred to me involving this song and I am becoming more convicted of it. The young man who as I said is at the heart of our only effective effort is full of joy, not fear. He said to me that it’s not the virus. Even if it was a hugely deadly virus, like Ebola, it wouldn’t matter a wit. His response would be the same: advocate for freedom and liberty. It is much better to die with a virus with all clvil liberties , than die as a p.o.w., as Briana described she is seeing where she works.
Now, yesterday I had bubble soap in the vehicle and decided I would blow bubbles as we circled around. The expression on people’s faces was priceless. It was like didn’t I get the Fear Memo? Maybe I’m reading more into everything here, and maybe it’s silly vanity, but it seemed as if the bubbles floating in the dark, rainy, cold air momentarily shook people out of their collective trances.
It made me think that the most effective strategy is counter-intuitive. Not angry. But rather infectiously hopeful Joy. A refusal to listen to The Fear Memo and live The Fear Memo. I see a mass of fearful, tired, broken people, so sick of the double-talk and lies, hungry. Into this the march being led with THIS song. I’m not speaking of a metaphor here but the actual, physical happening of this.

Surely, Littlelight, that joy is a choice even when we don’t actually feel it at first. Very soon, the emotions catch up with the thoughts over which we ruminate. 🙂

Amen, Beckita. What you said echoes a famous saying of St. Catherine of Siena, whose feast we celebrated yesterday: “Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire.” If we all concentrate, as Charlie says, and doing the little bit before us–if we all acknowledge God, take the next right step, and strive to be a sign of hope–the figurative conflagration that ASOH’ers would spark would be unimaginable…and unimaginably awesome.

Your pastor is courageous and brilliant. I’m guessing this came over a life time of discipline for him. Because around here there has been a lifetime of agreeing with liberal anti-life politicians. Orthodox priests in this diocese have suffered for decades under a loose, liberal leadership. But this older, strong and solidly orthodox priest has mentored several young men who have become priests of his ilk and they are, in turn, mentoring. I’m guessing the “how to approach them” will be heavily underscored by “without fear.” We were warned about the spirit of fear in these times and how many legions it has at its disposal. Certainly the media, as one example, knows full well how fear sells. We’ve also certainly talked about the politicization of everything in these times, but clearly fear of one sort or another is mostly driving it all on both sides.
Perfect love casts out fear.
When folks come in town to visit they usually want some mountain climbing on the itinerary. O.K. Tom’s Thumb is my go-to for the overall experience with two established routes on the north and south faces. The north face is fairly direct as the terrain allows, but involves some of the more challenging vertical that is still doable for most. The south face is at least double the distance but includes more gradual rises, meandering canyons and more scenic vistas. There’s a little known route from the east that few use because there’s no development to speak of on that side of the mountain and it’s difficult to approach the trailhead in a vehicle. The shortest and most challenging route of all is also on the north face, well off the established trails and nearly straight up through nothing more than a boulder field known as the Marcus landslide, an ancient rock avalanche. Not sure how many actually know about it and/or would consider it a route, much less attempt it, but it is most definitely the shortest distance between two points,. Few there are who attempt it.
Nothing wrong with the other routes at all as they all get to the same peak –– really a massive capping boulder that looks like a big “thumb.” Ergo the name Tom’s Thumb. Not sure what “Tom” it’s named for, but I always think of the Apostle. As for that boulder field, all three of my kids surmounted it before they hit their teens. Is there anything a trusting child can’t handle?

MY TAKE:
We are probably going to look back on these days and be embarrassed by our overreaction.
This virus is very contagious, to be sure. It spreads easily.
But more people have already contracted this particular Coronavirus and unknowingly had little or no reaction to it. It’s just a virus, our bodies have seen many of them before since childhood.
This RNA virus is probably going to prove to be no more deadly than or even LESS deadly than the common flu or RSV.
True, to those with comorbidities, this virus will kill some people,… exactly like the flu or other viruses. So be it. No qualifying apologies from me about how sad I feel that people will die from it:
That. Is. Life. — and God’s will.
I recently took a “vacation” to get out of Broadus to a nearby town, staying in a hotel and getting a much-needed massage from a friend (less than 6 feet away and without wearing a damn mask, BTW). Painfully, I had to sit alone in my hotel room and watch television, which I don’t normally see because I don’t have cable at home. The commercials and all the big businesses that have jumped on this “We’re in this together” B.S. bandwagon was truly nauseating to watch. Oh, sheesh, everybody really cares! Spare me the feigned concern. $$$.
Time for the rulers and politicians to drop the lock-downs and stay-at-home nonsense. Yes, it was perhaps appropriate for a time early on in hot spots like NYC and Seattle when we didn’t have a clue, but no longer. The models were horribly wrong in their predictions, which quickly became obvious, and the data we are being presented today by the jackass media regarding the number of deaths is inflated — Why? To hurt Trump? To hurt the economy? To promote a political agenda? To control us? Who cares. It’s all malarkey.
Two weeks ago people were not walking around with masks on, but today after the worst has passed, people are just NOW wearing masks… thanks to the CDCs latest brilliant recommendation. Poppycock!
We look like fools. Like this pervert:
Open the country back up, let Americans out, and let’s get back to business.
And let’s bring the manufacturing of critical goods back to the United States. China has finally been exposed to the entire world.
This is all a bunch of nonsense at this point. Just my take.

I’ve included my note of interest from the second speaker at Monday’s Health Freedom Summit in this regard.
Plague of Corruption: Don’t Wear Masks & Clean Up The CDC By Judy Mikovits
Judy Mikovits is the Erin Brockovich of COVID-19 and modern retroviruses. With a doctorate in molecular biology, Dr. Mikovits has seen the best and worst of science. When she was part of the research community that turned HIV-AIDS from a fatal disease into a manageable one, she saw science at its best. But, when her investigations questioned whether the use of animal tissue in medical research were unleashing devastating plagues of chronic diseases, such as autism and chronic fatigue syndrome, she saw science at its worst. If her suspicions are correct, we are looking at a complete realignment of scientific practices, including how we study and treat human disease.
Recounting her nearly four decades in science, including her collaboration of more than thirty-five years with Dr. Frank Ruscetti, one of the founders of the field of human retrovirology, this is a behind the scenes look at the issues and egos which will determine the future health of humanity.

Highlights of Health Summit Session:
Masks are not necessary and deprive oxygen needed by susceptible populations
*Plan-demic” is to “Drive” the vaccine and kill old people – depopulate
Holistic and Natural remedies are best
Lockdown – there is NO scientific evidence to support this measure
Community Immunity will allow for us to build a resistance – We may get the infection but NOT
the disease with a herd immunity model – NOT ISOLATION
DO NOT GET TESTED/CHIPPED/VACCINATED – DRIVING AN AGENDA TO EXTERMINATE
PREP – Pre-exposure prophylaxis (pill not an injection) is what is needed as a safeguard for at risk populations

I was looking for your commentary, thank you.
So, it appears that the leaders in health care and politics where I am fully understand what you asserted. This is an educated guess on my part that I’ve concluded by observing their narrative and watching for changes. A primary sea-change I’ve noticed is no one is talking about either “flattening the curve” or “facts not fear” anymore. This language has been phased-out of all local media coverage. Apparently those prodromes have run full course.
What has replaced that is the second phase. The mantra now is comprehensive testing so “we can reopen the state” I don’t think it takes an expert to see where this is going or to see that this has little to do with our health or well being.
In response to a rolling car rally at our capital advocating for our rights, our gov. gushed to the media how very reserved and magnanimous he is in comparison to other govs in regards to our civil liberties–we are silly. The second strategy was the one Charlie wrote about pretty much verbatim. The doctor head of the st’s reopen task force bemoaned how we all need to go to ICU to “see” the death/trauma!!

I have some good Covid news to share.
I worked (in a nursing home) on two floors this weekend, both with upwards of 20 Covid patients each.
The first night we had 27 patients, all with Covid, all ASYMPTOMATIC, and one was even 104!! They were all scripted the HCQ/Zpack? Vit C, Zinc, and they were doing just fine. There is one woman that was in pallative care prior to her Covid diagnosis, and she is still in pallative care, actively dying, but not of Covid (in your charity, please pray for her. She is tired, and lonely, and suffering from both of those terribly. Thank you.)
Night before last different floor, we had 23 active Covid patients and many *were* symptomatic. They cough, you duck. I think three of those are ones that won’t pull through, and I hope I’m wrong. They were having too many problems before hand to be able to battle Covid as well. In total, as of Sunday night, fewer than 10 have died in my facility. Considering that the elderly were most susceptible, we did the best we could.
This is only MY opinion, but I think the nursing homes should open back up. Covid is there. No one is going to spread it more than the staff, even WITH all of the precautions we take. These people are dying alone. They have DNRs and it’s so sad to see them alone, in a room, just dying by themselves. The nurses and CNAs are so busy taking care of other people that one of us can’t sit there with them. Open them back up so family can come in, just like staff–masks, temp scan.
So just because it effects the elderly the most, doesn’t mean that it’s a death sentence if you’re elderly! Even with serious comorbidities. Many of these patients have almost every single dangerous comorbidity and they are *still* doing well. Thank you God. Thank you for the HCQ cocktail, as well.
I’m in NJ, living under the Murphy Tyrant, and today he announced that we’re under lock down until further notice. And more of a hard handed response to this. I am resisting as much as I can, but I live in a state where people are glued to the news and literally terrified of going outside and breathing air without a mask. And Murphy is not tolerating dissent. However, in many of the more countrified counties, farms, businesses, and those who live paycheck to paycheck have just about had it. There is an underbelly of real anger. I don’t know how it’s going to play out.
The doubling down on the newsspeak is strange to watch. I don’t watch the news at all and when I am at work, all the residents have on is the cable news shows and man, what a screed of terror. They just don’t stop with the fear mongering. Then you go to the store and have to listen to this “social distancing” warning over the loudspeaker. So surreal and dystopian.
I am looking forward to the red states opening up and hopefully such a stark contrast that it makes blue state citizens even more aware that they were purposely terrified into buying a big lie.
Prayers for all here.

Thanks Briana. Very interesting first hand REPORTING. We used to get that — reporting just the facts. Not much of that anymore. Everything is dished out with a political agenda — from both Left and Right. Much of this is beginning to resemble a kind of Wag The Dog situation.
“Wag the dog is a situation in which a small and seemingly unimportant entity (the tail) controls a bigger, more important one (the dog). This originates in the saying “a dog is smarter than its tail, but if the tail were smarter, then it would wag the dog.”
“Wag the Dog is a 1997 American political satire black comedy film produced and directed by Barry Levinson and starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro. The screenplay concerns a spin doctor and a Hollywood producer who fabricate a war in Albania to distract voters from a presidential sex scandal.”
Random terror is one of the tactics of authoritarian dictatorships. Stalin was a master of it. The knock on the door in the middle of the night and you just disappear. Pinochet in Chile ran random death squads up and down the street. Anonymous men dressed in black. Would just cruise around town and randomly stop and snatch up a totally random person at say — a bus stop or a gasoline station — and whisk them off. The object is not to terrify the poor guy who wound up in the middle of a soccer field never to be heard of again. The object is to terrify everybody who witnessed the event.
Covid 19 response acts in a similar kind of way. Gonna come and knock on your door in the middle of the night. Be afraid. Be very afraid. In fact be terrified at this unseen and irresistible force in your life. Keep your mouth shut and stay clear of your neighbors. Self-isolate, hunker down and stay invisible to survive.
I am particularly surprised at such little resistance to the notion of MASS TESTING. It is at its base a totally un-American idea. Yet, the consensus attitude seems to be — yup, that’s the ticket to reopening America. Can somebody tell me how Mass Testing is going to change a thing? Who and how? All the little kiddies in school get a pin prick and the samples go where? If they test negative on Monday how will they test on Tuesday? How many million lab technicians will it take to evaluate the Mass Samples? Makes no goldang common sense to me. Surging resources to hot spots? Not gonna need tests to identify hot spots. See NYC. Round you up. Test you and you are positive. Then what? The soccer field? You just disappear? Into perpetual quarantine? Especially if you have socially incorrect thinking?
On the other hand — no way this 72 year old with “underlying conditions” wants to tangle with this virus.
Paranoia runs deep as the old song goes. Maybe those anti-war hippies had a point. For What It’s Worth.

Aaargh, we are living this testing to open terror and I agree with your assessment. It’s pure madness. Someone sent us a Darth Vader meme that was so appropriate, gallows humor and all. I wish I could generate it.
It said:
Citizens: “We’ve flattened the curve and prevented hospitals from being overwhelmed. Can we go back to work with precautions now?”
Darth Vader speaking to Boba Fett and Landau Calrissin: “I have altered the deal. Pray I don’t alter it again”

HI Brianna. So true about the elderly: Covid is not a death sentence to MOST of them — most will survive.
We have opened the small downtown businesses in Broadus yesterday. But we are keeping our nursing home with 19 residents on lockdown still. And I see a problem with this being set up by our county commissioners during our Zoom meeting yesterday: “until Covid is gone, we must continue to protect our seniors.” We’re still just guessing blindly. Because of this they may keep it closed far longer than necessary. I’ll let you know when they finally open it back up.
Will pray for your patient.

Crewdog, Your article link to homeschooling reminded me of the years my wife and I homeschooled our 7 children. This short period of time my kids are homeschooling their kids is defiantly separated the men from the boys of how one survives challenges. We didn’t have the luxury of Zoom conferences with teachers and online classes. We had a teacher’s guide book and the grade appropriate textbooks for each child. Nice thing was we could let each student learn at their own pace and the Catholic curriculum was moral, accurate and dense with meaning especially in its religious education studies. The plus of these curriculums was shown out on how high my children scored on aptitude tests and college entrance exams. Now that my kids (who have children) are having to homeschool their kids (the ones who haven’t already been doing so) it’s interesting to hear the different attitudes they have about its effect on themselves struggling with the kids distractions, questions and lack of interest in some subjects.
Ah, how it brings me back!
There is a bit of recompense to see the struggle we endured being truly felt by those we struggled with!

Great post. Thank you Charlie. I always appreciate and admire your prudent research.
I don’t know the accuracy of this information, hoping you can help with that, but for years, it was reported that Trump is a “self-proclaimed” germaphobe. Probably sounds crazy, but given the Deep State’s trained ability to study, find and exploit weak spots of enemies, did they find the one thing that would scare Trump and possible destroy Trump’s presidency, a new virus?
Here is an example of one of those news reports:

Trump is a germaphobe…he has said it, himself. And yes, the satanic forces prowl looking for the weak spot, the place where they can trigger an irrational response in ordinary rational people that serves demonic desires. Even so, I do NOT think Trump has acted irrationally. I think he understands what is up and is doing his usual shrewd maneuvering to flip this onto those opponents of Americanism.

Charlie, I have been hoping Trump would see what was going on sooner than later, although I think he started to see it all sooner than I thought. I was obsessed 24/7 watching the news(FOX) when this all began. Then I started to see the agendas behind some of it and felt I couldn’t trust the numbers anymore. I have to be honest that I started getting tired of the daily Cuomo shows, and President Trump bragging about the different things he’d accomplished with the economy, but was proud of the fact that he has always from the start had people’s lives first and foremost on his mind, and of his quick response in putting together a task force.
My heart sinks for our seniors, the wise elders of our lives, being holed up and alone without being able to have visitors, and for people dying in the hospitals alone with no one to comfort them in their last hours. It really makes me sad when I see news clips of families having to stand outside of nursing home windows just to say hi to their parents and grandparents. I fear it will be a long time before they take away the orders for people to be able to see their loved ones in those elder care facilities again. I pray Lord that this ends quickly even though I know there will never be a normal as we have known it for our society again. God blessings to all here! ~juls

I definitely agree, Charlie, Trump is doing his normal judo throw. Many people say he is a practitioner of the tenets of Sun Tzu’s Art of War. I’ve concluded he also has read Lao Tzu’s Tao te Ching and especially its definition of leadership, of which there are four types. The highest level of leadership is “where the people say, “We did it ourselves.” ”
Trump and the white hats are doing what we elected them to do, to take down the Dark Elites. That is something we cannot do ourselves. However, he also is fully aware that if We the People do not wake up and take back our sovereignty, the evil will soon come back.
Everything he does is ultimately (and incredibly patiently) designed to get us mad at the right people to be mad at and to be determined to right our country. Allowing a lockdown to break the back of the virus is one thing that might or might not have been needed, but it had the salutary effect of leading bad people and bad organizations to expose themselves and trigger the rest of us to push back.
Ultimately, it’s the pushback he wants and needs to see, and then he goes on to the next phase of stimulating us to wake up, see who is who, and again push back.
Ultimately, we *must* take back our sovereignty over our country, the sovereignty originally given to us by God and enshrined in our Founding Documents, or everything he and the white hats are doing now will sooner rather than later be rolled back and lost to a returning tide of evil.
Charlie, your work and our activities here are entirely consistent with God’s desire to see us bow to God as our sovereign and Trump’s desire to see us become awake enough to require our government to bow to and serve its sovereign, We the People. Get the structure right, and grace will flow.

Fr. Ripperberger has a series Four Last Things covering Death, Judgenent, Hell and Heaven.
The lecture on Hell discusses the utter confusion and torture by the demons by associating wildly wrong and innappropriate conclusions to thoughts .
The demonic work to provide you with the wrong presuppostions, sppositions and conclusions; fake news anyone?
We are experiencing the barest whiff of the hellscaoe the demonic in “our” governments will be inflicting us with, if we let them.
On a different note, in the catechism, what does GS 29 § 2. refer to?
The passage citing it is 1935 which reads like neoliberal claptrap that only a close definition of ‘discriminate’ and a clear defense of nationhood and the meaning of the story of Babel can rescue.
God bless

Amen, Timothy. GS 29 § 2 translates to this: GS = GAUDIUM ET SPES (It is one of the four constitutions developed during Vatican II and here‘s a good summation of it. Here‘s the full document.), 29 = The section of the document that is referenced, and § 2 = the particular paragraph within that section to which the documents points the reader. In this case, here’s the passage of reference:
True, all men are not alike from the point of view of varying physical power and the diversity of intellectual and moral resources. Nevertheless, with respect to the fundamental rights of the person, every type of discrimination, whether social or cultural, whether based on sex, race, color, social condition, language or religion, is to be overcome and eradicated as contrary to God’s intent. For in truth it must still be regretted that fundamental personal rights are still not being universally honored. Such is the case of a woman who is denied the right to choose a husband freely, to embrace a state of life or to acquire an education or cultural benefits equal to those recognized for men.

I will find it and bookmark it. “GAUDIUM ET SPES 29 SQUIGLY (: 2”
I am sure there is a proper name for the “squigly” but I like the “squigly” .
I figured it was a bit of the neo-liberals getting their nose into the catechism.
I know you are a fan of Vatican II, but it appears I am not.
“There should be no Islam in Christendom” is to discriminate against Islam and Islamist people.
Christendom should discriminate based on religion.
Still, the section within the Catechism on Virtues was/is outstanding. The practice of virtue–I never heard it addressed formally by any protestant–gels nicely with the eschatology of the Catholic faith and, gives a heavenly purpose here and now for things like “mortification” and “taking up one’s cross”; terms perverted in my former understanding of them.
Thank you for your time.

Timothy, if ever you have time to read the documents of Vatican II, I think you’d be delighted to see what they actually teach. One of this site’s patron saints had a strong hand in developing the documents of Vatican II: Pope St. John Paul II… as did his dear friend just 35 years old in 1962 when the Second Vatican Council began. Fr. Joseph Ratzinger, at that time, was already known as a brilliant theologian and he attended all four sessions as peritus, or expert, to Cardinal Joseph Frings, Archbishop of Cologne. Following each session, Fr. Ratzinger wrote an account and analysis of the theological debates among the bishops, giving his analysis on what had been achieved. Look at the wealth of profound and elegant writing with which both St. John Paul II and our Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI have blessed the Church. Treasures.
Vatican II Council was a time marker. It was the time when our Mother’s adversary went full bore with tempting those who were weak in faith, including priests who had not been well formed in the seminaries, to believe they could change the Church via grassroots efforts from within… not that this was the beginning of the breakdown. It was simply a ripe time for it. Another dimension of its ripeness was described by the great Bishop Morlino when he was first consecrated Bishop and installed in his first diocese, my own. As he traveled throughout the vast area of western Montana, he surveyed the disorder of an intensely off track Church in the bigger cities here. Again and again, he would give opportunity for the misguided to open themselves to the change of correcting the course on which they traveling by saying, “After every major council, it takes about 50 years for the dust to settle so that the Church truly understands what was to be implemented by its documents”.
Whenever you read or hear the euphemism “in the spirit of Vatican II” – and we can throw in there, in these days, the euphemisms “a new paradigm” and “the Magisterium of Pope Francis” (Deliver us, O Lord.) – you can bet that person is all about making a new Church, different from the original Bride of Christ fashioned from His Teachings of Truth and launched from Pure Love.

Hear! Hear! One of the things I read independently during the course of my conversion was all the documents of Vatican II. I loved them. It baffled me when so many people justified utter nonsense by appealing to the “spirit of” Vatican II. I concluded, early on, in my journey into Catholicism, that a whole lot of folks were seeking to attach their own evil spirit to magnificent achievement that was Vatican II.

It is very easy to appeal to the spirit of phrases intended as a point of entryism for subversion. ‘Gender’ replacing ‘sex’ was one such technique and it worked. In thevspirit of gender over sex, it is now mandarory I celebrate Bob coming out as Susan (I do not and will not)
I see the same entryism at work here:
Every form of social or cultural discrimination in fundamental personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language, or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God’s design.40
Women priests anyone? Who’s ya pachamama? Muslim call to prayer?
Granted, the definition of human dignity and equality given earlier forces this to be read a certain way…it is incompatible with human dignity and God’s design that women be priests…stands on that ground.
But why make it easy on them? You make it easy if that is what you want to happen.
Perhaps I will see anew when /iif I read it….My gaurdian angel is directing my morning Bible / Magisterium reading so I will read when led to.
Anyhoo, God bless you

Good point Tim. It’s hard to tell where sanity and reason blend into hallucination and madness and finally into the reality of the “hellscape” of a brief time residing in Hell on Earth followed by the experience of Hell in Eternity. It seems to be a process working on way, way, way too many human souls so many of which we know personally and are familiar with. And to think — its all a matter of choice.

Hi ST Ed. (heh, ST works as StormTracker abd Saint! )
Ripperbergers series on Virtue is helpful here.
God expects us to grow in virtue , and it is a process we are obligated to work at as part of our (salvation? sanctification? I do not have the virtue of precision !).
Is the person growing in virtue?
Is the society growing in virtue?
Does the culture inculculate it?
Imho, that gives us a good means to discern. Furthermore, it is true at every level of our walk..it can mean something as simple as turning off the porn or stopping smoking pot to things advanced which Ripperberger talks about in his lecture.
Clearly tge subverters in Christendom are not growing in virtue , rather, they are its enemies as virtue is Godly.
Their madness , and its effects on us, follows as a result of their free choice.
Maybe that framework will bring clarity for you.
Cheers

I agree on red states opening. However what about the liberal corporations that are major employers in those states? Some big corporations housed in red states are hinting at stay at home until 2021. My sense is decisions are being made with coalitions of other globalist corps instead of state and local governments. Wondering how this will play out.

So if those companies stay closed and go bankrupt, they will really have shown us, won’t they? The Senate is talking about refusing to give any “grants” to companies that stay closed when their states have given them the okay to open. If the left wants to destroy itself to show how much it hates Trump and normal Americans, I am fine with that.

Yet one more devastating fallout to this “pandemic” ~ hopefully everyone here is self sufficient in raising their own food. As farmers, we believe that this is all manufactured in order to control what we eat, as now, even in light of farmers destroying livestock and cattle being targeted next, we read that Bill Gates and Tyson foods are collaborating on manufacturing “artificial” meat. If you have ever read the ingredients in this product, you would reject it on those facts alone.

Reetscharlie, I’ve been watching this develop as meat processing plants are closing. The massive flooding in the Midwest last winter-into-spring made a HUGE contribution to destabilize the food supply chain. There are more than a few in this community who have commented that they’ve been watching this perilous situation developing. Thank you for this video! Makes my blood boil. May people rise up and demand exactly what Shad Sullivan expressed. This is the stuff which catapults us, as a country, into a hot civil war.
This has me pondering further. Surely Trump and collaborators are aware of this developing crisis with our food supply. Sounds like it’s time to declare a national emergency and do what needs to be done to bypass the usual ways of operating so animals and crops can get to market.

Trump’s spirit seems subdued and rather crushed to me. Is anyone else noticing this? I sure hope I’m wrong on this. What is most concerning me is seeing him tout massive testing in order to re-open. This we first heard from the Cuomo-9. It seems to me that Cuomo-9 are a sort of proving ground for our country. This is all just guessing and gut reaction on my part–so take with a grain of salt.
Also noteworthy is that the local media was actually friendly dismissive of the protests at the capital. They are framing the protests in an rather accurate light which is raising all kinds of alarm bell hackles on me. They are saying we are reasonable and just asking that instead of exec. orders, freedom be given because they believe individuals can and will make the correct choices (i.e. masks/no masks, sanitation procedures, etc). I wonder what the counter-offensive will be? I’m guessing it will be more of what happened to that unfortunate pastor who died.

He did say that, STEd. I saw on Twitter this morning that someone was hypothesizing this: when the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds fly over a hot spot city, they fly all around the hot spot trailing enormous plumes of “smoke” and then come back at high level to do another flyover without smoke, they are actually dropping a vaccinating agent in that “smoke”.
There are actually methods of vaccinating that come from spraying a variant of a disease/bioweapon that creates the proper antibodies, and people absorb that agent as it falls down through the air from, get this, low-flying aircraft. If we see a very significant falloff of new Covid cases over the next couple weeks, we might consider that proof of this admittedly strange hypothesis. And it would be entirely consistent with Trump’s original comments. It would be like a miracle, as Covid-19 would simply fade away, never to return.
Let’s hope!

Other interesting trends I’ve noticed. In CT, our Gov lulls everyone into complacency by using soothing language such as: “This is not mandatory” But then tells us our choice is to agree with the Trace Program or Isolate. Not much choice there.
Also, more telling, and this flew under the radar, our Gov says “groups are limited to 5 people or less” Did anyone else but me see this as a Weapon to use against large families?
It’s subtle like a snake.
Then we hear it from the WHO and Clinton about families and isolation and facilities
Instead of running around with our hair on fire, we need language to pierce through these subtle snake-like lies. Clear. Concise. Language, rolled out nationwide.
Any takers?

SanSan, they are trying to “encourage” us…There are son many slips of the tongue and *tells* in this video, the sinister tactic should be obvious to most, I pray!
Along those lines, I will share my notes from a few more speakers warning about similar deceitful maneuvers by the powers that be (overreach/control) and what we can do about it. ❤

Conflicts of Interest & The Truth About The Coronavirus By Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
A life-long champion of clean water, and civil liberties, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks with Alana about the serious risks and conflicts of interest regarding COVID-19, the quarantine, and the rush to get a vaccine out to market while the vaccine manufacturers have no incentive to make a safe product, and past human tests for coronaviruses have proven lethal.

”…be sure that the quarantine does not kill more people than the virus.”
Studies suggests that every point of unemployment, costs 40,000 lives in our country
”Isolation kills people”
Crops are rotting and languishing on the fields which is negatively impacting our food supply – hunger/starvation kills people
Disruptions in supply chains for pharmaceutical drugs – will cost lives
Letting the virus spread and allowing herd immunity (H.I.) would protect the compromised populations until we have wide-spread H.I. which will naturally protect them ”…rational and prudent…”
Seems the mission or scheme, championed by Gates and Fauci, to eventually all stay locked in place for 18 months until we get the vaccine
Economic devastation will be felt for generations
Gov wants to track us
Hospitals are not overfilled, most are empty
People are being ticketed, punished for being in the sun taking care of themselves outside of the agenda of tyranny that will track us and deduct fines from the bitcoin banking…
Mandatory Vaccinations vs Religious & Parental Rights By KrisAnne Hall, JDI
A new plea of "necessity" is sweeping across America that could change all of that. State Legislation that eliminates the essential exception to mandatory vaccinations would remove the right of free exercise of religion and parental rights for Americas all across the country by mandating them to engage in behavior contrary to their religious beliefs. Americans must prevent this unreasonable intrusion and head the warning of those who founded America.

Mandatory Vaccines and the right of the people
God given right to liberty bestowed upon us – ours by the nature of our creation
James Madison –Essay on “Property” – “conscience the most sacred of all property” a natural and unalienable right – https://www.revolutionary-war-and-beyond.com/property-by-james-madison-march-29-1792.html
Government is to guard our land and secure our physical property and enforce private debt – delegated authority – not to give them the title to invade, control, and infringe upon our conscience
Our conscience is scared and is an essential element in our religious liberty and parental rights
Cannot lawfully or Constitutionally use the force of government to dictate liberty/personal rights – liberty is built on self-governing
”We are supposed to as a moral and compassionate society, take the steps necessary to consider and preserve the lives of others, but not the sacrifice of our own, by the force of government.”
Look at your State Constitution, which will mirror the U.S. Constitution – 1st Amendment (infringe on religious liberty) • Freedom of Speech • Freedom of Religion •.Freedom of the Press • Freedom of Assembly • Freedom to petition the government
Religious objections may include not defiling God’s creation, vaccines and aborted baby tissue and/or dangerous animal by-products
U.S. Constitution does not create rights. Parental rights is one of the oldest fundamental liberty interests
Our legislator’s job is to secure our individual rights – self preservation

Reading Hamilton in Federalist No. 31 in the quiet of the morning today with my first cup of coffee.
Ran across this beauty regarding the outcome of “what if” political conjecture concerning the possibility of Federal Usurpation of State power. This assessment of the anti-federalist argument that an unlimited Power of Taxation by the proposed Union would necessarily conflict with the unlimited Power of Taxation of individual States:
” Imagination may range at pleasure till it gets bewildered amidst the labyrinths of an enchanted castle, and knows not on which side to turn to extricate itself from the perplexities into which it has so rashly adventured.”
Ah, the pleasures of the imagination. Hah! Spit my coffee. Rashly adventuring into perplexities. Don’t worry your little anti-Federalist heads about it. Hah! Thanks, Alex.
Wonder what old Alex would think about the utility of letting our minds and imaginations rashly adventure into the labyrinth of the perplexities of Covid 19? My guess his response to our present ventures of the imagination concerning our current distress:
“Rest assured Gentlemen and Ladies, you will become bewildered in that Covid 19 Maze of Mirrors funhouse down at the Enchanted Castle Amusement Park you call your modern world.”

Yup, you got that right Alex.

The question of long term immunity ( like with chicken pox virus) and the fact that we can catch the flu over and over again is addressed in the below article. It suggests that a stronger infection rate and period inacts a longer immunity “memory” from our immune cells.
Some highlights:
“Our immune system has different mechanisms for responding to germs we’ve never seen before. Antibodies, made by B cells, coat a virus and don’t let it infect cells. T cells, meanwhile, regulate the immune response or destroy infected cells. Once an infection is past, long-term “memory” versions of either B or T type of cells can form.”
‘What sort of immune memory will covid-19 cause? Stephen Elledge, a geneticist at Harvard University says the severity of the disease could put it in a different category from the ordinary coronovirus common cold forms (HKU1, NL63, OC42, C229E, ect). “You might have a common cold for a week, whereas if you go through three weeks of hell with (covid-19), that may give you more of a T cell memory for much longer,” he says.’

It was one of my Lenten resolutions to get up and go to daily Mass with my wife every morning. I am not a morning person and when my resolution hit reality my morning lethargy won. However, since the beginning of the lockdown I have been participating at Mass online every morning. If you do not already have a Mass you can get online there is a wonderful site called “Catholic Holy Masses Live Online” which has a listing of online Masses in English from all over the world. This is one of the ways in my life that God is bringing blessing from this disaster.
I have now participated in Masses in England, Ireland, Newfoundland and throughout the United States. One of the things I have tried to do (if there is enough information posted with the livestream) is to email the priests who have said Mass to thank them. I have had several of them email me back, thanking me for the contact. This morning I found a Mass in a small English country parish. The priest who said Mass was very good, holy, gave a good short homily about St. Catherine of Sienna, but he looked tired and very worn. I sent him a thank you and told him he was being followed from across the ocean.
Father emailed me back a few minutes later thanking me and telling me how happy it made him to know that people were participating in his Mass and that it was a blessing for them. This made me think again about how difficult a time this is for many of our priests. They have been pulled out of their routines more than most of us have been. Many of them now live alone without the consolation of having family support. Their jobs have been effectively shut down in many dioceses with prohibitions even on hearing confessions or administering the anointing of the sick. I am sure many of them are suffering from isolation and a sense of a loss of purpose.
If you have a chance, call or email a priest that you know. Thank him for his faithfulness and let him know how much you appreciate him and his fellow priests. Let them know you are thinking of them and miss them.
