Praying Hands with Rosary Beads and Dove

On this page, readers are invited to send in their prayer requests. I will leave requests up for nine days. All readers are invited to pray for those who ask for it and any who want to offer a word of comfort are invited to do so, as well. May we work together to mutually build each other up and support each other in times of trial.

  1. Pope Francis – April 2018 Prayer Intentions

Let us raise our voices together, asking that economists may have the courage to reject an economy of exclusion and know how to open new paths.

The economy cannot attempt only to increase profits by reducing the work force and thereby adding to the ranks of the excluded.
It must follow the path marked out by business leaders, politicians, thinkers, and leaders in society who place the human person in first place, and do everything possible to ensure that there are opportunities of dignified work.
Let us raise our voices together, asking that economists may have the courage to reject an economy of exclusion and know how to open new paths.

Please say a prayer for me….I will be attending a Rachel’s Vineyard retreat this weekend starting Friday. 🙂 I’m looking forward to it. It will be with a small group at a local monastery. I believe there will be another man in attendance who also experienced an abortion.

  5. Please pray for my sister Carolyn. She was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer while pregnant with her second child. It is now stage 4. She has a loving husband, a two year old, and her baby is now 7 months. We are asking for the intercession of Our Lady of America. She also has a devotion to St. Faustina/Divine Mercy. Thanks in advance.

  6. Hello everyone! I’ve been incognito here recently…too overwhelmed to comment these days! I’d like to request prayer for my daughter, who has the opportunity to serve on the summer staff of a Catholic apostolate that hosts retreats for teens and young adults. Just requesting prayer that she can raise the funds she needs for this opportunity, and benefit from the formation process provided for the summer work crew. Thank you!

Praying first and foremost for his soul as well as a miraculous physical healing. Also praying for strength and courage for my friend.

May Venerable Matt Talbot – who intimately knows this struggle – and St. Maximiliam Kolbe – who gave his life for a family – remain close to these people, interceding at every turn.

  13. Dear Friends,

I’m asking for your prayers, as it has been a time of deep personal distress. I had an abnormal mammogram in late December, could not get re-scheduled until late January, then a lot of scheduling confusion. Subsequent biopsies proved positive for breast cancer, and more delay and confusion. I subsequently found my own surgeon, had surgery and am now scheduled for radiation treatments. Along the way, my faithful dog started to experience what was identified as gastritis. Several specialists later, she was found to have an inoperable stomach tumor and died shortly afterward. The loss of my faithful companion has devastated me. I feel like I am walking a dark, lonely road. Please pray for me that I can see ahead to Our Lord’s plan for me.

  16. Hello to all. I am here to give an update on my previous prayer requests made both here and on the main blog. Son- in- law Jerry made it through cancer surgery with only one minor set back. He is recovering at home now. Just got a letter from the insurance company that they will not approve the proposed continued treatment. Oh my. Everything for a reason, right? Sister-in law came through her cancer surgery as well. My friend’s alcoholic son is looking for an in- house treatment center. He is stable. Daughter-in-laws Mother is not doing well with her brain cancer. It does not look well. Praising God for all His love and mercy!

  18. I attended a Catholic school in upstate NY in a small farm town of 4,000. Was in a class of about 20 students who went from 1st to 6th grade together. Wayne Kozak was the class clown, blonde, big for his age, and a very funny kid. Haven’t seen him since 1986. On a whim tonight, I did a google search of him (no idea why).

    Please, pray for Wayne.

He murdered his mother a year ago. No idea of his status, but I figure God would like us to pray for him.

Lord Jesus, have mercy on Wayne.
Saint Francis of Assisi, pray for Wayne. (He made a joke of St. Francis once).
May his mother, Mary, Rest In Peace.

Thank you for praying for this unusual request.

      1. Thank you, Beckita. I realize today why the Spirit directed me to look up Wayne like that. I had spent the much of the day talking negatively with my aunt about my own troubled mother. I admit that I still harbor strong resentment against her, though I love her and pray for her. Still, an old bitterness remains. The Lord is encouraging me to more aggressively (or humbly) address my resentment; that there is less of a difference in God’s eyes between hating one’s mother and killing her. Harsh words, I know, but our Lord said “anyone who is angry with his [m]other will be subject to the same judgment.” Mt 5:21-22.

Our Lady, the Immaculate Conception, pray for Wayne, his mother, my mother, and all of us.

(the school we attended was called Immaculate Conception)

          1. Thank you for the link, B. That was the word I was subconsciously avoiding: forgiveness.
Although I’ve forgiven her countless times in the past, my hurt pride and resentment resurface still. I brought this bitterness and confusion to the Eucharist last night before learning of Wayne and had a lengthy back-and-forth with Jesus, who helped give me words I’ve been looking for.

Just came from a church showing of “I Can Only Imagine.”

            I forgive my…
            Mom.

            1. Beautiful, Patrick. It’s amazing how an act of the will has ultimate value… even when the feelings of forgiveness are absent. In my experience, the reaffirmation of choosing to forgive, for however long resentment reappears, eventually leads to feelings catching up to the thoughts and words spoken. Working through my own need to forgive a dear friend at the moment, Patrick. Even when acknowledgement of hurts caused by the other is missing, forgiveness brings peace and freedom. May Christ imbue us with His Peace.

  19. Hi, everyone. I rarely post a comment but have been following Charlie and all the wonderful commenters on this website for several years now.
Could you please join me in prayer for my marriage? I just found out my husband has been cheating on me. I am deeply hurt and feel so betrayed. I do not want a broken home and especially do not want my children to suffer. I also do not know what to do except turn to our Lord and Blessed Mother. I have already prayed the Prayer of Miraculous Trust. Please pray for all of us. My husband is Catholic but his faith is very weak. Could you please storm heaven with your prayers? I will forever be grateful.

  20. Please pray for St. Peter’s Church in Elizabethtown. The battle between a culture of Life and a culture of death is being fought spiritually. Current and former parishioners are under the influence of the world by supporting the doctor death panel that condemned Alfie to death over the wishes of the parents and the offer of help from the pope and Italy. Others and I are battling on facebook . May the Holy Spirit give us the words that might penetrate their hearts and take root in their mind to choose Life. Thank you!

  21. Please pray for my daughter Sarah whose marriage is breaking up. She claims she doesn’t believe in God so she won’t turn to prayer. She and her husband are still in the same house until one of their rental apartments opens up. Meanwhile, her husband is hostile to her. To make things worse, my granddaughter, almost three, has not been baptized. I’ve been praying for her to be baptized but if the divorce goes through, I see the likelihood of it happening greatly diminished. Thank you.

      1. Thank you so much Mick and JLYNNBYRD and whomever else prayed for globetrotting Tommy and Lizzy!!! lol I love that coined phrase and will tell Tommy about it! They didn’t like Peru and the Amazon as much as they liked the Philippines! In fact, they seemed darned happy to be back home in the states! They had some real surreal weather in the Amazon where they actually slept in tents for a few nights..yuk!! they say crocodiles and tarantulas some snakes and lots of monkeys..but most strangely was their weather as I stated…the highs were only in the low sixties! normal for the Amazon, even though it is now their winter, is in the 80’s. They said this was highly highly unusual and that it actually even snowed! Sounds like Amrageddon to me! Their next trip was supposed to be Costa Rica in December but now they are saying maybe they will do an Alaskan cruise this time! lol I think maybe God and all of you kept them safe! Who knows what kind of animals would have come out of hibernation, had it not been so cold! Thank you all of you! You are all the BEST!!!! xoxo TNRS

  29. That social networks may work towards that inclusiveness which respects others for their differences.
    Pope Francis – June 2018

The Internet is a gift of God, but it is also a great responsibility.
Communication technology, its places, its instruments have brought with it a lengthening of horizons, a widening, for so many people.
It can offer immense possibilities for encounter and solidarity.
May the digital network not be a place of alienation. May it be a concrete place, a place rich in humanity.
Let us pray together that social networks may work towards that inclusiveness which respects others for their differences.

  31. Dear friends last night I received this message from a cousin in Philadelphia….” please keep Rich’s brother and his wife and their newborn baby girl Wilhelmina Grace in your prayers. She came into the world on Friday and things have been a bit chaotic since. Unfortunately during birth little Wilhelmina not only inhaled meconium, but it got into her bloodstream. She’s was medivac’ed to CHOP and has been on a heart and lung bypass machine since Sunday. Her odds of survival aren’t very good, and even if she pulls through she likely has suffered significant brain damage. It’s a complete nightmare. She was a healthy baby until the last minutes. However, I believe wholeheartedly in miracles. ”
We all believe in miracles! Please keep this little on in your prayers.
    Bless you all
