On the weekly podcast Dr. Joe Brickner and I do, we have started having guests. Our first guest was the eschatologist Desmond Birch. We talked about where we really are in salvation history (kind of a palliative for the explosive effusion of sites focusing on prophecy these days). We also talked about hope, both spiritual and practical, and how to be that sign of hope as times seem to get darker. We will work to get guests who can give insight on various current events; on what we are doing at CORAC, on items of general interest, and of solid initiatives that you may want to be a part of. I will give a link each week to that week’s podcast and what it is about.

A friend from Vermont called to tell me of the plight of a Priest I have met and talked with – and liked, Fr. Peter Williams. He is the pastor of Holy Family Parish in Springfield, Vermont. Bishop Christopher Coyne of the Burlington Diocese ordered all Priests in the Diocese to get the Covid shot or to get tested for Covid every other week and wear masks at every Mass. Williams refused. Bp. Coyne told him to get it done or be suspended. Williams refused again – and refused to leave his parish. Instead, Fr. Williams maintained he has canonical rights and has retained a canon lawyer to plead his case. He says he will stay in place until he is canonically removed from his post.

Now the Diocese is trying to establish that he is mentally ill in order to remove him – a go-to move of the old Soviet Union to justify getting rid of annoying dissidents. This is not the first time I have heard of this tactic being used by Bishops who want to get rid of a Priest who annoys them. It is hideous for some Bishops to so eagerly adopt such Communist tactics – and is a smear against those honest Bishops who actually try to care for a Priest in crisis by getting a mental evaluation. When the malicious politicize health issues to get their way, it discredits the use of those tools when they are actually needed.

Sadly, there are more than a few Bishops who have instituted draconian Covid policies for their Priests and other personnel. Some of these are Bishops I have otherwise respected. Some have even issued a Covid shot mandate to attend Mass. I don’t recall the Lord saying, “Come to me, all ye who are fully vaccinated.”  These Bishops will have to account to the Lord ultimately – and suffer being revealed as irresponsible fools for this policy in this life – and that right soon.

I can understand why Bishops, in the early stages of these Covid events, would have thought going along with the government was the prudent course. But to mandate an experimental therapeutic that had not been fully tested; that animal tests had shown had many side effects, including deadly ones; and to mitigate an illness that had well over a 99% survival rate for those who actually got the illness, was irresponsible madness. To double down now that hard evidence is collapsing both the Covid narrative and the Covid shot narrative is downright criminally irresponsible. To mandate Covid shots is to mandate that people accept a substantial risk of blood clots, strokes, neurological disorders and sudden death in order to mitigate against coughs, runny noses and gastric distress – and it turns out the mandated experimental therapy does not even work very well at mitigating these symptoms.

I understand that Bishops cannot be experts in all – or even most – fields. When you accept a leadership role you make a solemn commitment to defend those you lead. Of course it is reasonable to follow the advice of authorities at first. But you are obligated to pay attention. When a large number of credentialed authorities in the same field sound the alarm that this is potentially dangerous – and are systematically censored and threatened with revocation of their medical licenses, you better investigate, yourself. It is your duty. Those Bishops who still have draconian Covid policies in place have betrayed their flocks and have betrayed Christ. Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse. I have sadly had this conversation with several people close to Bishops I otherwise like who have bought into the madness with draconian dictates. They are not protecting their flocks; they are thinning the herd – and had what they needed to make a more prudent decision from the start. Shoot, it literally violates the Nuremberg Protocols to force anyone to get a medical treatment he objects to, and especially one that is untested on humans and in which most of the animal trials had disastrous results.

My Archdiocese literally took the lead nationwide in providing conscientious objectors with religious exemption letters. Thanks be to God. May more wake up and do the same, for though they may not perceive it, they are in God’s winnowing fan right now – and those issuing decrees without wisdom are not going to fare well.

We have gotten off to a nice start on our winter funding drive for CORAC. This week, your generous donations added $5,000 to our coffers. I’ll be able to pay next month’s bills. Our monthly costs average around $11,000. This covers accounting services, banking, administration, legal retainers, web hosting and development, supplies and my travel. Everything we do is free of charge to the recipients (though those signing up for some courses, such as homeopathy, may have to purchase supplies. We have no financial stake in those and get nothing from the suppliers representatives recommend.) My travel costs are largely confined to gas and economical hotels (Ha! Last year, I did get a Marriott Residence Inn – the only premium hotel I really like – but got it for $58 per night). It is a joy to me to get out and talk with the faithful, encourage the faithful, and help give an organizing jolt to different areas. Yes, it can be exhausting – and is certainly labor intensive – but it truly is a labor of love and is a big part of what has allowed us to build a community of friends across the country. On two occasions, I have seen up close and personal how powerful this community can be: when my car broke down in Stockbridge, Massachusetts a year ago and when Covid laid me low for two months. People both in Stockbridge and in Montana – where I spent three weeks in bed – were there to help me get, first, my car back on the road and then, myself. I have delighted in the many people we have gotten emergency supplies to who have called to tell me their full stories the last two months. We are a community. I don’t have much in the way of money, but I have plenty of fortitude that allows me to get up and get after it. Thank you for the fuel you give that allows us to continue to grow and build a genuine national network of faithful people who are determined that we will give each other heart and do the same for all who join us in darkening times.

Prayers aplenty in these days… praying that those who are yet asleep will awaken to the lies being perpetuated all around us and listen, instead, to the voices speaking and writing about the reality of the” vaccine” dangers, “vaccines” which are, for the vast majority, so unnecessary in the face of a virus with such high survival rates… praying for those healthcare workers now faced with the federal mandate to be vaccinated… praying for our Church so in need of purification… and praying for safe travel for you, Charlie.

  12. It is outside of a bishop’s authority to interfere in the personal health decisions of the priests and faithful in the diocese. My parish has never masked up and most are not taking the immoral injections. Now those who took the shots are the ones getting sick.

  18. I HOPE the protesters in Ottawa have a counter measure for a Jan 6 style event that happened in DC, our media and social media are similar moves here in Canada.

    Trudeau is a minion of the Globalist NWO, he placed all his bets & faith on the Great Reset, if he backs out he looses everything.

    I pray that God will spoil any attempt to label our peaceful protesters as terrorists, and instead use it to wake up everyone still sleeping…

  21. The latest CORAC National Newsletter begins with an intro that says Charlie drives a Subaru Outback. I’m a Forester guy but I suppose we could still be friends. 🙂

    Anyhoo, in #3 of the ‘Nine Things to Help You Prepare for the Worst’ section it mentions BIC lighters. That reminded me of something. In the post-collapse Soviet Union there was an idiom that became common and was understood to mean ‘all the little stuff we use everyday’. It translates to: soap, salt, and matches. Those three things were included of course but could mean ALL the other little stuff we normally don’t give much thought to. During rolling waves of scarcity it was often the little stuff that could be used as a ‘currency’ of sorts. So fwiw, the preparedness-minded should give some thought to the humble ubiquitous stuff as well as the biggies like food-water-heat etc. And hey, if everything somehow smoothes out…you won’t have to buy soap, salt, and matches for years to come. 🙂

    1. Ha! A couple of years ago a lifelong friend told me, while I was at dinner with him and his wife, that his wife had laid in a six-month supply of dried chicken teriyaki in the basement. Then, deadpan, he looked me in the eye and said, “I blame you.” I howled with laughter. Then about a month ago we were talking and he said, “Hey I’m not worried. If things completely collapse I’ve got six months worth of delicious chicken teriyaki in the basement.”

  22. Ironically, this title has taken on new meaning for me.

    We found out on Thursday that my mom has pancreatic cancer. She is 85. We are going to do home hospice for her. I personally don’t think she will last much longer–the pain is intense already and hard to control. She is actually looking forward to dying, as she has missed my dad so much (he died two years ago, before the pandemic started).

    Would you please pray that God will be merciful, allow her to spend time with all her kids, grandkids and great-grands, then take her quickly?

Hi friends, to all who prayed for Father R., a catholic priest who risked being reprimanded and suspended by his bishop for being unvaccinated, I say thank you, because the meeting with the bishop went well. It turned out that Father had been urgently summoned for a problem of administrative nature concerning the parish.
    Now I come to you with another plead.
    There is an old lady named Mirella, who has been between life and death with Covid for more than a week. She is taken care by her daughter, who did not let the doctors take her to the hospital, and by some dissidents doctors and nurses. But they do not have ivermectin or hidroxy chloroquine. Please pray for Mirella. Her daughter had been helping for months a lot of people who risked losing their jobs in Italy due to the mandates.
    I thank you in advance. Please remember also my family in your prayers. We are going through a challenging time. Thanks for everything.

  27. Off topic: I recently listened to the O’Reilly audio book, Killing Jesus. I think that Bill did a great job in recreating the times. I learned much about the culture, politics, and extreme barbaric power plays. It also made me feel more prayerful and thoughtful . The Free Library of Philadelphia is great. They have a lot of audio books and I love to listen to historical books. I have already read or listened to 4 or 5 of his books. Killing Kennedy really brought back the turbulence of the 60s and the personal tragedies of Jackie Kennedy. I expect that she really felt she has to get away from the press and the scrutiny….If you have never read Killing Jesus, I recommend it.

  29. Please pray for my daughter, I just had to drop her off at the ER, they wouldn’t let me stay. She has covid but not breathing problems, but lots of abdominal pain, nausea and weakness. She also has a bacterial infection she has been battling. Please storm heaven that they just give her meds for the pain and fluids for what she hasn’t been able to keep in and down.

    I have put her in God’s hands and pray that the team at our hospital is just as good with her as they were with my mom when she had to go there for the same symptoms last month.

  30. At Sen. Ron Johnson’s “Covid-19: A Second Opinion” hearing Dr. Peter McCullough stated 700,000 deaths have been caused by hospital covid protocol. I have been haunted by this nurse’s testimony who similarly indicating patients are not dying from covid but from the hospital healthcare as she elaborates on her first hand experience (e.g. remdesivir, no food, no water, no bathing, no human contact, no family members, complete isolation – in other words equal to “concentration camp”) .

    1. I watched a video of this same nurse on Rumble, in an interview with Stew Peters, who has whistleblower doctors and nurses on all the time. This nurse has first hand experience in the killing going on in hospitals, but the GOOD news is that she has helped found American Frontline Nurses and they are saving lives, going to court, getting people out of hospitals vs. dying in the hospital, etc.!!

      I was brought to tears (of joy) today watching videos of the truckers in Canada. Mark Mallett has a couple in his latest email, Trudeau is Dead Wrong. The people lining the highways, and the good wishes give you hope. I guess one reason it makes me cry is because there are so many good people in the world, and we are not alone!
