Waiting for the Other Shoe…

By Charlie Johnston

It was a busy Memorial Day Weekend. May 30 is the Feast Day of St. Joan of Arc, but since it fell on a Sunday, was superceded by the Feast Day of the Holy Trinity. So, in America, we had a trinity of special celebrations this last weekend – Memorial Day, honoring those who gave their lives for our freedom, St. Joan of Arc’s Feast Day, who gave her life for the preservation of France, and the Feast Day of the Holy Trinity – through Whom all things subsist and in Whom, the Son gave His life that all of us may be truly free and heirs of His Kingdom. Seems to be an interesting theme to all this.

When St. Joan of Arc was sent to rescue France from England’s “hundred-year war” of extinction against it, she reversed the trajectory of the war nearly overnight by lifting the siege of Orleans. For years no one, including top French officials, had thought France could survive as anything but a province of England. After Joan’s lightning turnaround, no one (including the King of England) thought France could ever be subdued. Imagine the pathos of spending a hundred years of watching the vitality and lifeblood of your nation being stripped away. That is one of many reasons why Joan is such a great patron saint for these times.

Besides being the most actually racist president of the 20th Century, Woodrow Wilson held America’s founding principles and documents in contempt. He thought America should be ruled technocratically – and that the whole principle of a democratic republic was a fool’s game. The Democratic president was a vocal supporter of both segregation and the Ku Klux Klan – and a great admirer of the Confederacy. This was the focal point of his larger contempt for the average man and of individual liberty and self-government. His presidency was the true beginning of the assault on the very concept of self-government in America. It is now a hundred years since the end of his presidency. In that time, power has flowed away from the people and the states to the federal government at an ever-accelerating pace. Unelected “experts” no longer advise policy-makers, but dictate rules that all the little people must follow. Wilson’s dream has become our reality – and America’s nightmare.

Now, serious thinkers are wondering if America can survive much longer as a free, Democratic Republic. Certainly the left is frantically trying to snuff out all vestiges of self-government and individual liberty. Serious thinkers are now in the nascent stages of trying to figure out how a free people and free states can defend themselves from the depredations of a society whose institutions have run amok. At American Greatness, Jeremy Clark makes a compelling argument that the left has already seceded from the union. Last week Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) grilled big bankers on what, specifically, they objected to in Georgia’s election reform law. They had no answer. When revolutionary pressures against institutions rise from the institutions, themselves, it is a classic case of cowards feeding the crocodile in the hopes it will eat them last, as Winston Churchill said about the futility of appeasement.

In these circumstances, the question becomes how best to preserve liberty for yourself and your family until sanity once more prevails. I can’t help but think refusing to secede from Constitutional self-governance and individual liberty under God and natural law, even when federal officials and social institutions are doing so in a mad rush, is the beginning of preserving our culture. That means actively aligning with those institutions and states which vigorously defend and fight for liberty and self-governance. It means that the dozen or so states which have adopted partial nullification in response to unconstitutional edicts coming down from federal officials must remain ever more steadfast, refusing to negotiate over basic Constitutional principles. It means a steadfast commitment to the Judeo-Christian ethos which has been the foundation of Western Civilization and, under which, human rights flourished rather than adopting the neo-pagan ethos that has increasingly gripped the elite classes of the western world over the last few decades.

I have more sympathy than I often let on for the many people grasping at twigs, trying to figure out what has happened to us. While I struggle over missed details at times, I have always been solid on the big picture. My method is simply to focus on first things, fundamental principles, and analyze from how they apply and where they proceed. I have never seen as muddled a big picture as now. We live in revolutionary times, but almost all the revolutionary pressure comes from the upper layers of society rather than the lower. That is bizarre, because the top is always toppled in a revolution. One has to wonder if they are too dull-witted to know they have trapped themselves in a box canyon: if they succeed they will topple themselves and if they fail they will be toppled. I think they actually are that stupid…just willful, ignorant (if malevolent) children.

My friend, the eschatologist Desmond Birch, suggested that a major source of our disorder is bad philosophy. While I agree with him, I think it is worse than that. At the top levels of our society, there is no coherent, guiding philosophy. It is all situational bits and pieces, arbitrarily designed for the moment with no over-arching strategic goal. Oh yes, I know, they want globalism – but their tactics are not really suited to that goal – kind of like a fellow whose goal is to be a multi-millionaire, but whose only tactics are to buy a lot of lotto tickets.

I have been shocked over the last year to discover how many otherwise knowledgeable people are not knowledgeable at all, but mere technicians. Before you can begin to analyze how something is working, you must understand clearly the first principles behind it: what it is supposed to accomplish and why. I have long known that the general public AND public officials are very shaky at this politically. Over two decades ago I devoted a full day on my radio show to allow anyone to share their opinion on the electoral college, provided they would first give me an accurate short synopsis of why the founders adopted it in the first place. No one passed that hurdle. It seems people are much more eager to voice opinions than they are to first find out what they are talking about. (I did a short piece for the Illinois Review 13 years ago on the purpose of the electoral college.) That know-nothingism has now infected everything. We are technological wizards and philosophical gnats. After doing serious research, I tried hard the last year to find doctors and other medical personnel who could answer my questions and relieve my skepticism over the Covid “pandemic” and the experimental gene therapy jab that is glibly called a “vaccine.” I only found two doctors that could talk knowledgeably about the subject. Many were surprised at data I gave them and even more surprised when they checked and found it was accurate. Most had no idea of the actual underlying data and any interpretation of it. All they could say is that this is what the CDC and Facebook tell them to believe, so they just go with it. Frankly, it horrified me. If our professionals are mere technicians without foundational knowledge in their supposed area of expertise, no one is piloting this ship.

I do sympathize somewhat with those good-hearted souls who trust the establishment media and the pimple-faced oracles of truth at social media sites – because they grew up in a time when you largely could trust authoritative elites. But I don’t give them a complete pass. For the past five or six years, the establishment media has been wrong on most of the big stories they have done – and demonstrably so within months. At some point, if you keep citing outlets that are almost always wrong as your “authoritative” source, you bear responsibility for some of the gaslighting. It’s one thing to be a useful idiot, but quite another to be an eager and willing idiot.

I thought in 2008, when the establishment media abandoned its pretense of objectivity to become enthusiastic partisans for the left, that it would bear some very bad consequences for the media. No matter how the schemes of the left are polished up, they don’t work. Having tied itself to serial incompetents, I thought the media would see a crash in its credibility and have to start fresh. I never expected it to double down on error and become leading activists in the leftist pursuit of raw power. But it, like almost all other public institutions, has been thoroughly corrupted and politicized by the pagan left.

I look at what is unfolding across the world and am, like many of you, bewildered at how we could have sunk so low, so fast. In many ways, the revolution the pagan left has mounted resembles the French revolution of 1789. It is driven by enthused pseudo-intellectual drivel. It is malevolent, with advocates actively wishing for imprisonment or death for anyone who dissents. That sort of ignorant enthusiasm could be sufficient to take over a society, but it cannot sustain itself because it destroys the very hope of prosperity and peace – and the backlash comes quickly. In France, it led to Napoleon and his messianic dreams. The tactics being used are primarily from the Nazi playbook of the mid-1930’s, with a touch of Josef Stalin’s forced starvation in the Ukraine. Yet all the tactics seem disconnected and patchy. Yeah, I know the old canard about the first person to bring up Nazis in an argument loses. That was largely true two decades ago, even a decade ago: but before the death camps came the yellow stars, the dehumanization, the segregation of the population into the willing and the dissidents. We are NOT at the stage of death camps by any stretch of the imagination, but we look a LOT like Nazi Germany in the early days from 1933-35. That is not fabulism, but simple fact – and we are going to have to intervene hard and soon if we are to stop the trajectory.

A successful revolutionary acts in the environment of a genuinely repressive government, taking advantage of genuine discontent with the ruling class. He recruits substantial portions of the police and military to his cause, rather than insulting and alienating them. He depends on the absence of a genuine middle class to foment strife between the small number of haves and the much larger number of have-nots, inflaming the have-nots against the repression and systematic inequities in their society.

It seems to me that the pagan left is trying – and failing – to mimic the elements needed for a successful revolution, like a child who smears on her mother’s make-up. From one vantage point, I see the whole Covid fiasco of the last year and a half as a war on the American middle class, shutting down small businesses and deeply stressing the class in an effort to make it dependent on the government overlords while giving a pass to the giant corporations and recruiting them as woke allies – an effort to make the middle class into have-nots. The bizarre suppression of both the hydroxychloroquine/zinc therapy and ivermectin – which have almost 100% effectiveness while trying to force the experimental gene therapy jab on the general public even while many employees of the very institutes pushing the jab are refusing to get it themselves suggests a genuine conspiracy. The pagan left wanted a pandemic and did everything to stop effective therapies that would undermine their narrative. That is not fabulism, but fact. I am coming to suspect the stressors mounted by the manufactured “pandemic” were designed to mimic the economic stressors from the Weimar Republic, which opened the way for the Nazi takeover. That is informed analysis. Revolutions are most easily accomplished when there is a large, genuinely persecuted and oppressed class. That had not been the case in America for a good 70 years, until recently. It strikes me that the whole Critical Race Theory (CRT) nonsense and Black Lives Matter (BLM) agitation is an organized effort to create a simulacrum of such in order to fuel revolutionary fervor – but it is normal Americans, white folks and the middle class which are now being persecuted relentlessly (with a special viciousness reserved for those minority members who do NOT support the ugly narrative).

Historically, an easily identifiable ethnic minority in a society puts a premium on social unity unless they are genuinely trying to carve out a separate state. Whatever short term gains may be had by ethnic agitation, the long-term consequences to numerical minorities in such a scenario are horrific – and frequently lethal. This hits home in a very personal way for me as I have several close relatives who are ethnic minorities. Unless the angry folks who provide revolutionary fervor for the pagan left master class wake up to how maliciously that class is manipulating and exploiting them, it will end very badly for them – and for a lot of completely innocent people.

It is truly bizarre watching the chaotic efforts to sabotage such a formerly healthy, vigorous society. Pieces of the tactics are shrewd and insightful, yet jumbled together in a helter-skelter fashion that makes no sense. It is like watching a gifted but damaged adolescent try to overthrow his family in the midst of a psychotic break. Watching them try to govern is like watching a petulant, willful child batter a toy he doesn’t understand how to work. You know it is going to break; you just don’t know which blow will break it. Yeah, I’m mixing my similes – but that is what our whole society has increasingly been doing for almost two decades now.

People often ask me what I think the spark will be that sets off the global catastrophe. I usually respond that it doesn’t matter. So many fuses are lit and explosive issues are so closely spaced throughout the world that once one goes up, they will all go up nearly simultaneously. But I am hedging my bets on whether it will be domestic dysfunction or foreign dysfunction that will set it off first.

I have long said that I have little to no fears of China invading the U.S. It makes no geo-political sense and is contrary to millennia of ingrained ways of approaching diplomatic affairs in China. I know that honorable Chinese culture has been hijacked by the communists since 1949, but the leaders are still products of their cultural character. Finding that China is having serious internal turmoil and that many of its cherished diplomatic aspirations are crumbling, I am less sanguine about China mounting a strategic attack. When the Communist bullies who rule China don’t get their way, they use force and coercion. It is the only tactic they are familiar with to deal with failure and frustration. So, bullies are going to bully.  People generally think that Washington or New York would be the prime targets of a hostile attack by a nation state. I rather think that in these times, hostile foreign states would steer clear of Washington and New York: those two centers are helping to perpetuate the chaos and havoc that paralyzes our national will. If I were China, my top two American targets would be San Diego and Houston. San Diego because it is the primary place from which America can project Naval power – and a surprising amount of air power, as well. Its loss would cripple American hard power. Houston is the center of much of America’s energy corridor AND is close to critical ports. Then I would take Taiwan while America is crippled and hope that I could muscle the rest of southeast Asia and Australia into submission with this fait accompli. If I were really devious (and the Chinese communists are) I would quietly collaborate with Jihadists to strike hard in western Europe simultaneously. And seeing how badly Americans over-react to a serious new virus that is still within the ordinary spectrum, I would release a new avian flu into the world – one that could have the makings of a real pandemic, not just an excuse for petty tyrants to bully people.

So yes, I think the American ruling class is the petulant child determined to break the toy (which is us) and the Chinese communists are bent on global domination. We sought to be woke but we will have war, at the very time American culture is crippled by a viral pagan outlook and is weaker than it has ever been. It is crumbling before our very eyes – and the crumbling will not remain gentle much longer. Those of us who value Christian truth and American traditions will constitute a lot of the collateral damage as the pagan left works to break us from within and the Chinese communists work to break us from without. We have now to choose actively to be a remnant. The migration of normal people from blue states to red states began seriously over a decade ago. Now those states which are serious about liberty and self-government must band together, that a kernel of freedom may be protected and nurtured even as the mad powers that be remain hellbent on toppling everything.

In the first reading at Catholic Mass on Trinity Sunday, Moses asks the Israelites, “…did any god venture to go and take a nation for Himself from the midst of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, with strong hand and outstretched arm, and by great terrors, all of which the Lord your God, did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?” (Deuteronomy 4:34) I think history is about to repeat itself, if we are willing. While most of the western world, under the lead of the United States has adopted a pagan ethos, we are called once again to turn to the Lord. If we commit to being His people, keeping His commandments, He will be our God and lead us safely out of the desert western civilization and the government of the United States has become. He will make us, once again, into a great nation in His image. If, imitating St. Joan of Arc, we decisively fight the effort of pagans to capture our culture and eliminate freedom and opportunity, casting off the oppressor, we will, after 100 years of siege, make a place for America to grow again, under God, with liberty and justice for all. It is already a wild ride and is going to get wilder. Stay steady, stay focused, don’t jump at every rumor and provocation – and you will recruit many into the service of the Lord.

I am glad to report that things have been going well with our new donations portal at CORAC. I am confident we have resolved the problem. Thank you to all who have donated so far. Please, if you have not, help us prepare for the National Conference in three weeks and make up for the lost time over the last two months where malicious trolls largely kept us shut down.

Make sure to register for the conference and join us in the Black Hills of South Dakota at the end of the month. We have a great line-up of speakers, including David Daleiden, Desmond Birch, Chris Godfrey, Jim Graham – and will record a U.S. Grace Force Podcast with Fr. Richard Heilman and Doug Barry while we are there. There has been some confusion as some have said it is “pre-recorded.” I don’t know where that got started. It will be live at the conference as we record it – but will not be aired publicly until the next week. Attendees will be able to see it on monitors as it is recorded. There will be demonstrations and information available on health and wellness, sustainability, communications and prayer teams while we are gathered together.

I also have some volunteers calling our donors, getting their ideas and advice. This will be an ongoing practice. I want to get the best counsel from everyone, but especially those who have put their money where their mouth is. So if Eileen calls, be nice!

Donate to CORAC!

  1. Wow, such much to this one. I have a zoom meeting shortly so will respond to just one tidbit. If I were really devious (and the Chinese communists are) I would quietly collaborate with Jihadists to strike hard in western Europe simultaneously.
I believe-no proof-that it will happen here too.

      1. Ha Nance! I have thought of that before – but largely don’t worry about it anymore. The American left is senseless and impervious to learning. The Chinese communists are malevolent, but not senseless. They have already thought of it and a dozen other different ways. Want a trick play…the Chinese might very well use or pretend to be a North Korean force to carry out such a plan. Then they would finally take over North Korea AND Taiwan under the guise of providing stability and preventing any such “rogue” operations from ever being mounted again. I can already see Joe Biden standing shoulder to shoulder with Chairman Xi, calling him his partner in stability and security even as San Diego and our fleet lie in ruins.

        1. Gosh, Charlie, that’s the second time you’ve caused my heart to feel as though a hand is gripping it and squeezing. My poor San Diego! What a great city it used to be, but I hope it is not attacked. Unless one lives here, you cannot imagine what a military town it is! God help us, all cities and towns!!

Your assessment is serious, but we have to admit the truth of the dire situation in which we find our country and the world!! I keep wondering how I would face the extreme events that may come, and I continue to believe that the Holy Spirit will have to anoint us in unimaginable ways, more than we can possibly conceive of at this time.

  2. Charlie, Thank you for this brilliantly insightful analysis. One of the puzzles I have been wondering about is why the otherwise intelligent leaders of industry, finance, and entertainment have flowed funds into BLM and parroted Woke themes. You answered well with this observation, ” When revolutionary pressures against institutions rise from the institutions, themselves, it is a classic case of cowards feeding the crocodile in the hopes it will eat them last, as Winston Churchill said about the futility of appeasement. ”

Such witless and unethical appeasement also applies to our courts, and especially the US SCt when it refused to hear the charges about Constitutional violation of state legislative authority by judges and state governors by their setting election rules, and charges about plain fraud in ballot counting, led by Texas. But for reason why the courts refused to hear charges about voting fraud was obvious — they were trying to stay out of the fray over fear for their own survival.

    1. Jack, in fairness, I am quietly friends with more than a few federal officials and employees. In January, they were nearly unanimous in telling me that I had gotten too panicky. Now, they are nearly unanimous in telling me that I was way ahead of the curve – and dead right. Two who previously thought the election was messy but valid, have now noted with amazement that it is almost certainly going to be proven to be a fraud – and right shortly at that. People of good will at high levels who wanted to sustain the old normal are now conceding it is dead – at least privately to me.

      1. I’d be delighted if the fraud was proven, but I’n still tempted to say that I’ll believe it when I see it. Tempted, I say, but more inclined to think the Democrats will simply let us know –– after being busted –– that it was in our best interest. So what, they’ll say, we had to take extraordinary measures to get rid of bad orange man who was destroying democracy in America, or threatening the very soul of our country, or some such absurd and neurotic nonsense. Then they’ll just carry on as if nothing happened.

I’m really less disappointed in the institutional failures than I am with all the relatively decent Americans sitting on their butts and/or hands. Maybe CORAC ought to get out there and start serving citizen indictments to these crooks… if even only as a symbolic gesture.

        1. There is no provision in the Constitution for handling the sort of situation that is developing. One of my friends noted we are about to face a Constitutional crisis like we never have before when it is proven that Biden was fraudulently installed and there is nothing we can Constitutionally do about it now – because legislatures and, particularly courts, would not do their fundamental job. It’s gonna get real western at some point.

          1. Might even get real wild western at some point, but I tend to think of the Wild West as less wild and more fluid than it’s generally portrayed. One of the main reasons is the formation of wagon trains, land clubs, mining camps and cattle associations. Basically, they came up with their own constitutions to govern security and other matters, after the U.S. Gov failed to provide that support. I suppose factions in the Gov were too busy legitimizing war against the plains natives as a business racket, among other things.

Oh, I know…. the image of the noble native doesn’t exactly hold up across the board, but neither does some of the pap put out by so-called historians regarding the settlers. It was sometimes messy all around, but mainly it wasn’t a serious crisis until the Gov got involved.

Stood on the actual spot of the shootout at the OK Corral in Tombstone on a few occasions, and was mostly underwhelmed, considering they shot it out from within about 10 feet of each other in little more than 30 seconds. Once sentiments shifted among the fickle folks, that shootout landed the Earp’s in pokey for a spell.

        2. Voter Fraud in New Hampshire. Look up the hyperlink for the video and photograph. The picture displays outright voter fraud from the Ballot conception: not all names and circles are in line with one another. Only the placement of the “Ballot fold”: the names and circles altered.
          {BREAK}

          Article quotes:
“Perhaps this is one of the most important election audit videos to date. Unfortunately the presenter and production quality are not as good as needed; however, the content is exceptionally important. The video {not displayed} below needs to be watched in its entirety, perhaps a few times to digest the content.

“BACKGROUND – In Windham, New Hampshire, folds in ballots are presumed to be the primary issue that generated disqualified ballots. When the ballot fold runs near a blank oval space (where a vote would be registered) the ballot counting machine was counting the fold and crease as a vote. This generates what’s called “overvotes“, meaning more voter selections made on the ballot than allowed. The overvotes create disqualified ballots.

It appears many, if not all, folded ballots create overvote ballots, and those overvote ballots are disqualified. This is why there is such a high percentage error rate between the electronic tabulation results and the hand recounts not using machines.”

This outcome is also what creates the disparity in votes cast and actual voting percentages as identified in the tabulation results for specific machines. The higher the number of overvoted ballots, ie (disqualified) ballots, through a machine, the more flawed the tabulation result as a comparison of all voter ballots through similar machines. This is what has been identified in Windham, New Hampshire.”

          https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2021/05/25/action-alert-windham-new-hampshire-ballot-issues-identified-in-adjacent-counties-exact-same-ballot-issues-state-audit-needed/

“Two of the auditors previously expressed their suspicion that the folds may have been to blame, but Hursti’s comments on Monday provided more context to the scope of the issue.”

“Because if someone voted for all four Republican candidates and the ballot happened to have its fold line going through St. Laurent’s target, then that might be interpreted by the machines as an overvote, which would then subtract votes from each of those four Republican candidates,” said Philip Stark, another member of the three-person audit team, according to a WMUR 9 report last week. “Conversely, if there were not four votes already in that contest by the voter, a fold line through that target could have caused the machine to interpret it as a vote for St. Laurent.”

    2. If the audits do prove that the election was fradulent, and proves that Trump now has the necessary electoral college votes, what are some of the possible outcomes? Joe Biden would concede honorably? (I’m joking, but on paper it is an option, right?) Would there be anyway of tracing the fraud to someone that would be criminaly responsible? If yes, could it lead to an impeachment process? If not, could it lead to an impeachment process? A secession threat by a block of states to force an election do-over or a reinstalltion of Trump (would that be the start of the wild west scenerio)?

      1. This is entirely uncharted territory. The Constitution did not make provision for removing a fraud after the fraud has been accomplished. The founders did not think they had to – for that is what judicial review was designed for. That is why, when the Supreme Court refused to even look at the evidence, I wrote that that was the effective end of the Republic. In English Common Law (which is a source of much of our early statutory law – so there is a genetic link), anything accomplished by fraud becomes null and void once the fraud is confirmed. That is the only way I see that possibly gives this a peaceful, if rocky, solution. But while we have a relation to English Common Law, it is not determinative in this country. The relief was reserved for judicial review, which the Supreme Court refused to provide. Tough, tough stuff.

    3. Jack, some of the capitulation of industry to BLM and CRT can be found in the history of Jesse Jackson and his Rainbow Push coalition from the ’60’s, 70’s and 80’s and its extortion of those companies.

  3. Well, we don’t have the healthcare workers to get us through a real pandemic because they’re all burned out and went and quit from this last Kabuki theater … and we were already understaffed. So I don’t know who’s running triage on attacks and managing a real killer flu. I’m not being sarcastic, either, I just heard from a professional that 1/3 of Healthcare workers retired or quit after this past year.

All of that may be coming… I’m focusing on school… 14 weeks left…that’s my next right step. Staying the course.

    1. I just read the other day about an avian flu infection in China. A new one with one reported person infected. My first thought was… here we go again. I am not sure if that report was one of those “trial balloons” the media puts out to see what reaction it creates. I so hope Fauci is raked over the coals and I do hope Rand Paul asks him about other gain of function viruses that are on the threshold of being released including this most recent avian flu mentioned above. Dear God in heaven help us🙏😔

      1. Yes! I pray for Rand Paul and those like him who have a backbone to ask the tough questions and to stay strong. His questioning of Fauci was great; we just need Fauci hammered more and more until he gets fired or quits. I know, I know; it’s just a drop in the bucket!

    2. Brianna, we see it firsthand here. My husband is the head of a Nephrology group and there are no doctors to hire. Anyone who is remotely available is foreign (and usually female) which means paying their VISA out of pocket ($18,000 & you can’t take it out of their salary). They are using a headhunter at this point & are desperate. They also can’t find a receptionist so our recent high school grad will be taking the job over the summer to tide them over. With so many jobs available, our children have their pick but we only have 6 of those, lol!

    3. Briana, it has occurred to me, as I watch so many good people leave positions in the standard System of our country, that we are actually being blessed in certain ways. We need people to staff a new system, just as that new system begins to arise. It’s wrenching to experience, but if some leaders provide a workable framework for their previous field, those folks who have been forced out of the System would flock to support the new system and to work for it.

I see it in myself, knowing that I can have little effect on the existing System – and certainly not wanting to save it so that it can continue. My mind has already begun to think of ways to create new versions of various sectors so that they would operate correctly.

The big problem is that the old System is still supported by government rules and regulations that have stifled these new ways for so many years. But if that whole thing collapses, there are no limiting rules and regulations any more, if for no other reason than because nobody will continue to work for a government that can’t pay them.

I had a friend in the Navy who said that after several years, he verified that there was a rule requiring every action and another rule requiring that that action never be allowed. He could have decided that that meant he really could do nothing, but he actually decided that it meant he could do anything.

Once the old System collapses, which we will all feel very bad about for a while, we will later find out that we can do anything, so why not start doing things right? When we start doing things right, those who have already said goodbye to the old System will be delighted to come back to the new. They are a growing pool of real people who want to do what they love. Give them a framework, and a sizable number of them will run with it. Potential energy into kinetic energy!

  4. 100 years for St. Joan and 100 for us Americans… Wow. And, wow, Jeremy Clark.

Two lines bespeak the state of failure in which we find the educational institutions in our country and how this has impacted every other institution: “That know-nothingism has now infected everything.” AND “If our professionals are mere technicians without foundational knowledge in their supposed area of expertise, no one is piloting this ship.” The flotilla of institutional ships has sunk.

You nailed all your points and insights, Charlie, yet, this one particularly got my attention as spot on: “I have long said that I have little to no fears of China invading the U.S. It makes no geo-political sense and is contrary to millennia of ingrained ways of approaching diplomatic affairs in China.” Physical invasion of foreign countries is not in their collective psyche. But oh the sinister tricks of invading with such things as bioweapons while launching into corrupt actions – of any and every sort – for the sake of establishing hegemony! The Servant of God Maria Esperanza knew this, spoke to it and, now, we can turn to her for intercession as we make our way through it all.

Another wow: “If I were really devious (and the Chinese communists are) I would quietly collaborate with Jihadists to strike hard in western Europe simultaneously. And seeing how badly Americans over-react to a serious new virus that is still within the ordinary spectrum, I would release a new avian flu into the world – one that could have the makings of a real pandemic, not just an excuse for petty tyrants to bully people.” So, no wonder it eventually may well look as though evil has won. There’s no way out but via fidelity, trust and fortitude in following where God leads.

Thank you for the marching orders of the day: “Stay steady, stay focused, don’t jump at every rumor and provocation – and you will recruit many into the service of the Lord.”

    1. Beckita, Given the grifting between the Biden clan and China, and given the aversion of our major industries to losing access to the Chinese market, China can count on a free hand as it pursues its plans for world domination. For example, China may array a naval force in striking range of Taiwan and then demand that they concede to having China run it as another province. What will the Biden Administration do? Perhaps our State Dept. would issue a statement saying that, “that’s not nice to be doing.” Then coastal defense installations could be bombarded by China. What would we then do? Nothing serious. China would just love to acquire the chip making industry in Taiwan and instantly dominate world chip production.

    2. I agree, Beckita. There is very much to Charlie’s latest, it certainly did nail a lot of the points, and I’ll certainly be re-reading it! And one of those points in particular rang a bell within the dim recesses of yours truly: “Before you can begin to analyze how something is working, you must understand clearly the first principles behind it: what it is supposed to accomplish and why”. Then I remembered why: Chesterton! He said, in relation to what’s called “second order thinking”:

“There exists… a certain institution or law; let us say, for the sake of simplicity, a fence or gate erected across a road. The more modern type of reformer goes gaily up to it and says, “I don’t see the use of this; let us clear it away.” To which the more intelligent type of reformer will do well to answer: “If you don’t see the use of it, I certainly won’t let you clear it away. Go away and think. Then, when you can come back and tell me that you do see the use of it, I may allow you to destroy it.”

I love to “remain connected to reality” here among you all, because there are very few sane places to take refuge, temporarily, from the resounding echo-chamber of the media and commentariat over here in this increasingly God-forsaking so-called republic (in reality now a wholly-owned, bought-and-paid-for, subsidiary of EU Inc.). Thank God there are still some sane, Catholic (the two don’t necessarily go together anymore, sadly) outlets, but I increasingly feel that they’re under, or about to come under, threat from either “Big State” in its demented wokeness or, worse, “Big Church” in its equally demented pursuit of being loved by The World, in which it becomes just another arm of Big State.

Ironic to think that in 8 years we’ll be celebrating (or will we?) the 200th anniversary of Catholic Emancipation in the British Isles, when the Church was finally liberated from the State-sponsored repression of the previous 300 years. And here they are, running back towards Big Daddy eager to be re-embraced in its death-clutch. You couldn’t make it up…

      1. Love the Chesterton quote, Jaykay. I especially love how you’ve dug deeply into considering Charlie’s writing. From the time I began reading him, I couldn’t blast through his especially meaty pieces just once. There’s too much learning and thinking nutrition to be well digested, the better to internalize the knowledge and concepts. SO agree about the reality connection via CJ’s work and this community. Charlie’s writing is like a blanket of reality and sanity which buoys us up to remain steadfast in TNRSing.

I sense you WILL be celebrating the 200th anniversary… and in Marian style glory. We can certainly pray and hope so!

There is so much rife and stress amongst their ranks, it’s like watching a keystone cop clip. Mind you, this ‘slap-stick humor is not funny, but it is not boring. Bi–n is obviously not calling the shots, and I think maybe ppl will finally get wind of his family’s short comings. And his co-patriot is or seems rather scared. However, there needs to be greater leadership against this miserable bunch then what we got going. Everyone lost their credibility. Great article Charlie. Wished we were going to CORAC Conference, but timing is way off. Yet, our prayers will be with all during that time. You have a great line up and It will be successful and fruitful. Maybe it was Gateway Pundit (which I turn to more and more each day), that had an article about this being O’s third term and a huge percentage of people in the current (fraudulent) administration were from O’s time, finishing his work!! That second in command, C.H., is driving me up the wall whenever I have the misfortune to hear what is called “her cackle”! It must come out to cover up her insecurity when she speaks to a national audience – not that many are listening.

  6. I rarely comment but I wanted to chime in to say that I can’t recommend the book “Amusing Ourselves to Death” by Neil Postman highly enough. It was written in 1985 & has managed to become a classic. I imagine you have already read it Charlie but I’m recommending it here because I believe it offers one of the best explanations as to why we find ourselves in this mess. I agree very much with Desmond on the lack of solid philosophy in that it is a big part of the problem but most of us (myself included) probably don’t realize that our country took a huge turn for the worse intellectually with the advent of the tv. Simply put, people stopped reading.

  7. Dear Charlie and All,

Charlie fairly accurately observed that: “My friend, the eschatologist Desmond Birch, suggested that a major source of our disorder is bad philosophy. While I agree with him, I think it is worse than that. At the top levels of our society, there is no coherent, guiding philosophy. It is all situational bits and pieces, arbitrarily designed for the moment with no over-arching strategic goal.”

I must congratulate Charlie on the above, for he has fairly well described in the main, the state of philosophy particularly in what today passes for Western Civilization today – and its disastrous consequences. There is no coherent philosophy today in the ruling elites. That is absolutely accurate.

That was already accurate when I was a philosophy major in the 1960’s. What did most universities and colleges teach as philosophy even then. They taught that NIHILISM was the only intelligent response within a world where there was no such thing as truth, no absolute truth. [Of course the tried and true response to such a sophomoric outburst, was and still is to ask, “Will you state that absolutely?” ;-)]

Even then, They taught for the most part ‘Logical Positivism’. Basically that was a school of thought which says, “Well, since there is no real truth, all we can do is start with certain unprovable premises – and then see what can logically follow from those premises.” [The nickname of such thinking ‘Logic Chopping’. That was the slang term amongst those who understood that if you do not begin you quest with a search for truth – you will always end up in some kind of destructive intellectual idiocy.

In other words, by the late 1950’s, most graduates of Western Universities were imbued with that kind of Nihilistic thinking. There was no coherent philosophy – for the simple reason that they had disallowed the existence of truth itself. It is impossible to come up with a coherent philosophy and resultant plan when you really believe that everything is relative. Then, you have no intellectual reference points from which to determine whether or not your ‘plan’ is anything more than, “… situational bits and pieces, arbitrarily designed for the moment with no over-arching strategic goal.”

That in a nutshell applies to every human venture into which nihilists decide to stumble.

And that is how and why, even the rather limited number of truly intelligent nihilists cannot see that their ‘plan’ is eventually a joke, a non sequitur which is internally self-contradictory in whole and usually even in its parts.

What my latest book – on philosophy – is explaining is how and why ‘bad philosophy’ [which is nothing new either in the 20th or 21st centuries – how those philosophies have led to virtually almost every manmade disaster throughout recorded history.

In the end, bad philosophy always winds up as chaotic bits and pieces which Charlie so well described. What the book explains is – how bad philosophy’s process develops and how it works to produce manmade disasters. And — the only antidote for it is good philosophy.

How far we have fallen with the shaky, corrupted “foundation” of poor philosophy, giving rise to more of the same at every level over the years. But for God’s Promise (Behold! I make all things new!) we’d be forever trapped in a gross quicksand.

SO ready for reform and renewal. May Beauty, Grace and Truth abound… beginning even now!

      1. FROM DESMOND:

        Hi, Beckie,

Good Observations, as I state in the manuscript’s introduction of the new book on philosophy, everyone is a philosopher – whether they know it or not. It is only a question of how good or bad they are at it. [This definition is hardly new with me – rather it is a ‘common coin’ amongst the greatest philosophers in recorded history. It is also a common bond in the published thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, Popes Leo XIII, Pope St. Pius X, Pius XI, Pius XII, Paul VI, St. John Paul II, and Benedict XVI. ]

        For those of you to whom this understanding might be new — Your philosophy is composed of several ASPECTS of your thought about;

        1) How you view (what do you think about) yourself,
        2) How you view the reality of the world around you – which includes ‘the other’ – your neighbor,
        3) How do you view or what do you think about the Creator/First Cause of that world, that universe around you.

That three part reality of how you think about or view yourself, & the reality around you, & and about the Creator/Cause of all Creation – THAT IS WHAT COMPRISES YOUR PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY.

The group of poor misguided wretches who are causing so much chaos in the world around us here in the US at least, is heavily populated by individuals who have [in the classical sense of the word] a terrible personal philosophy. For the most part, they do not view themselves as just one part in the whole described about. They view themselves as the very center of the universe [if in fact they are even certain there is a universe], that the other [whoever or whatever that is] is there to serve them and their will – AND – the very idea of God is nothing more than a creation of man’s imagination.

For me, for you, for us, the question is how to we react to such misguided pathetic figures? While it is one of the hardest things to do – Jesus commands us that we must, forgive, pray for, and love our enemies. [By definition all of those types of people are our enemies – and the common enemy of virtually everyone else.]

I personally have a harder time doing that with Hillary Clinton than almost anyone else. That is why she gets more of my prayers for my enemies than almost anyone else. I just feel sorry for Nancy Pelosi – as she has thrown away the guts of the most precious possession she ever received, her Catholic faith. I find it easiest to forgive, pray for and love Joe Biden. Why? Because I truly fear he suffers the way of the straw man in the Wizard of Oz. [I hope I don’t get additional time in purgatory for that last sentence.]

        All my love in Christ

Carson then identified the following questions from the test:

      · Describe three of the most prominent battles of the Rebellion.

      · Name events connected with the following dates: 1607, 1620, 1800, 1849, and 1865.

      · Name and locate the principal trade centers of the US.

      · Name all the republics of Europe and give the capital of each.

While I agree with him, I think it is worse than that. At the top levels of our society, there is no coherent, guiding philosophy. Bad philosophy is part of this, it seems that this has been a devised attack on society (all society) by some nefarious demon element and those that took a bit of the “apple” have shown us what seriously lies ahead. His time is short, so all possibilities are out there, and so…the Blessed Mother has also ramped up her messages and warnings! Those that are working behind the scenes, also have moved up. This is show down at OK Coral event. It is important to realize the Lord has placed before us, many people who have held on, shown us, and continue to explain the importance of our religious spiritual lives. I have been having some of the most interesting dreams, most very short, however, one about my deceased parents, very good Catholic parents. The best. My dad was military historian (might be relevant). (The Dream) They, my parents, were meeting me in a lobby, like airplane lobby, just us 3. It was dark outside. My mom was glowing and in white. My dad had on his dress shirt and good slacks. My mom said ” stay with your father, he is going to be with you”, and then she turned and went through the 2 push doors that you use in the boarding area. It was her action pushing through the doors that was so profound. And that was it. Very short, very staggering. So it seems we are being met with some of those who stayed with our Lord to the end, and they are telling us to stay the course and hold tight- push through. (My take- I don’t interpret dreams) Look heavenly because it will get very difficult and the struggle will be the sacrifice and the grace to assist us and others. So much is riding on what is to come. I don’t want to think about what went wrong anymore, I believe Desmond is correct, and I also realize through our Lady’s messgs that we got side tracked and lost our way. Those that returned/or never left, already understand the gauntlet has been thrown down. This is our Lady’s time, She will win. Help others, this is critical.
Ave Maria, O’ Blessed Sorrowful Mother! O’ Sacred Heart of Jesus, Have mercy on us!

Hey Linda, the tactics of forcing small Mom and Pop businesses to close, to offer agricultural assistance only to minority-owned farms, these sorts of things are how Stalin managed the forced starvation. He did not publicly state he was going to starve everyone in the Ukraine that did not knuckle under entirely to the state – but knew that would be the effect. Over 100,000 small businesses have been permanently shuttered. The supply chain has been far more badly disrupted than most folks have any idea of. Middle class folks are being forced to lose what they had built up by their independent effort and become government dependents. Stalin condemned anyone in the Ukraine who was a closet “capitalist” – and defined a capitalist as anyone who owned a cow or a couple of chickens. If they knuckled under quickly enough they might be spared, if not, they could neither buy nor sell – nor keep what they themselves produced. From the onset of policy choices to their inevitable result are several years even in the best of cases. It is important to recognize early the sort of tactics that led to the horrific results that we know such cases by. The policies that led to mass starvation that took hold in Ukraine in 1932-33 began with policy decisions in 1930. Stalin knew what he was doing – but in the early days people who clearly saw what the tactics would accomplish could be derided as conspiracy theorists. When you are being stripped of what you have produced and forced into depending on the tender mercies of government dependence, that is the fundamental means Stalin used to accomplish his goal of transforming society. I am coming to think that a great evil in the modern world is that people have trouble seeing to what ends specific means will lead. The means used right now have a great similarity to the forced Ukranian famine. If it followed the same trajectory, it would be 24-27 more months before we saw similarly massive and tragic results. If we wait until the results phase to notice the trajectory of the means being used right now, it would be too late to halt that trajectory.

      1. OK, Charlie…I’ll bite! What do you suggest? They have us surrounded. Only way I see out will need Divine Interference. And Soon. I read the book, The Final Hour, in 2003 by Michael Brown of Spirit Daily and I did not stop crying for days. Had never heard of the Ukrainian genocide and actually did not believe something like that could happen. We are way too comfortable and just don’t have the leadership to get us moving. When you want peace, prepare for war.

        1. Well, robill, what I have suggested since I began writing about these things eight years ago – humbly taking the next right step and trusting God for the rest. Do the things you can do according to your state in life, understanding that neither you nor anyone else on this earth will clearly see the way through all of this. Do what you can as you can, trusting God to part the Red Sea when it is time. I founded CORAC, I write this website, both things that are commensurate with my state in life. But my comprehensive plan is the same as it was from the beginning: acknowledge God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope to those around you.

  17. I need some real-time advice and options on a mandated jab order I posted on the CORAC forum. There are always options and opportunities. We need expert help in determining if it is a ”Keep your head down” scenario or ”Fight City Hall” scenario or something else entirely. Thank you to all who can weigh-in.

      1. Peggy is awesome!

The situation with this state u is a bit complex. The machine has craftily arranged it so there are no possible exemptions.

Our state legislature made religious exemptions to vaccines illegal. Iirc legally people can’t be removed from attendance until Fall 2022.

The state u has denied in person attendance to classes to only the jabbed for this fall. They are allowing online education. I guess that is how they hope to fight discrimination charges.

They only allow 2 forms for those who are not jabbed to attend in-person classes and labs. One is a medical exemption form which I’m guessing no licensed md in my state would sign with a ten foot pole for fear of license suspension.

The second form is an application for “non compliance”, I can’t remember the exact wording, but in essence it is a Kangaroo Court with no promise of a good outcome. There is promise of a really bad outcome as one who fills out the form is to be certain to added to some nefarious sustinent database to be useful to the idiots at a not to far in the future date.

    1. It’s a ‘we’re in the world, but not of it’ scenario, which ultimately involves a tremendous amount of detachment from the things that are of no benefit to. us. Seems like a no-brainer, but all know how difficult it is in practice. There are some valid considerations in our lives, but we could simplify that often overwhelming task, by tossing the all-too-human baggage that is more or less just negotiations and compromises with the world..

Detachment is key. So is staying nimble. If the world slams a door shut, God will open a way, and you can be certain that it will be in your best interest.

My question is this: How much is really needed?

Martha, Martha,” the Lord replied, “you are worried and upset about many things. But only one thing is necessary…

  18. LittleLight, honestly, I step reluctantly here, because this is your choice not mine. I’m not in a situation where I either take the vaccine shot or lose my job. But here are a few thoughts.

First, it is illegal to mandate a jab of an experimental vaccine. Whether you can fight it or not that way, I don’t know. However, there may be many people in your place of employment who are feeling the same way you are, and they just need someone to stand up/out and say no very firmly. If not you, then who?

Second, I keep hearing strange stories that (1) the airlines are considering not allowing *vaccinated* people to fly on their planes, due to potential liability for in-flight clotting issues, and (2) that taking a vaccine may either invalidate existing life insurance policies or prevent you from getting a new policy, because the policy may say you’re not allowed to take an experimental vaccines or medical procedures. I don’t know the truth of this, but I am seeing these stories. Frankly, I can see why the stories now exist.

Third, you cannot go back to the status quo ante. Once vaccinated, you are on the clock. Extrapolating actual data about the side effects leads me to say that tens of thousands of people have died from the vaccines around the world just from the short term effects. Our own BobG has lost most of his eyesight. Millions of people have experienced substantial short term effects and the long term effects are simply unknown. Most of the damage done by the Covid-19 virus is done when its spike protein gets loose in the body in Phase 2, so it is the spike protein that is the problem the body fights. Taking the vaccine gives you the same or worse impacts because it causes your body to make spike proteins literally everywhere in your body, including your brain, for an unknown period of time. Conversations and reports about problems people are suffering are becoming increasingly common on the web, and many such reports give me chills. I will never take the vaccine.

I’m in the process of rewriting my two Covid papers and will put new versions up there soon (I hope). The first paper provides many steps one can take to prevent or treat Covid-19. The second paper focuses closely on steps a person can take to prepare for an upcoming vaccination or to minimize longer-term side effects after a vaccination. I hope to upload them to my website at stevesfrontporch.com within a week. Meanwhile, if you have not done so already, you can go there and download the versions that are there now. The one on vaccines covers vaccine issues and potential problems in more detail than I can here.

Please keep us posted on what happens and what you decide.

    1. Oh, the jab is not an option, TYG! And, we are in the enviable position, that this is not a job, but rather our 2 kids college education.

Our rising freshman may just tell state U to take a long walk off a short pier and forgo a 4 year degree for a tech school education. Quite honestly, we see relief in her face. She got accepted into 3 serious university schools, one older military school that had a window for commitment, with scholarships, but she had no true love for any of it. She only took the state u option because we are 3rd generation there, and they gave her a hefty scholarship (she would be the 4th of our kids to go there, 2 already graduated). Also the branch campus she would go to is really awesome, with professors that are a true throwback to professors who taught real education for the true love and joy of it. Professors that had an accurate philosophy. But the cost of admission is The Jab. So it is a NoGo.

It is more painful for our rising Junior, who is so close to a wonderful engineering digital media dual degree she dreams of applying in the industrial sector. The world needs her talent. She is considering moving to a red state and transferring and foregoing her dual major for just engineering.

Maybe you know this about me, or not, but by the grace of Our Lord, Im not a quitter. Burying a kid to suicide with 4 more to launch is not a test anyone would sneeze at. But as, Charlie says, and please pardon the groaning reference, we arent in for suicide missions of fighting a very woke (haha, broke as in broken is a more accurate rhyme) state university with no hope of winning.

My rising Junior would fight, if there was a chance of winning. Our freshman wants to walk away.

It is heartbreaking. But on the other hand, I Must be grateful my adult kiddos have this passion, have the willingness to personally sacrifice for something they know is true. I not kidding myself in thinking they have even a solid grasp, but Im so grateful for this. (my old laptop os died, this new one has a broken keyboard. Please pardon the punctuation errors)

      2. LL, I’m sorry I misunderstood your original post and am heartened to hear about your rising freshman. Seems she is in a better situation than before. I think a lot of people are going to find that out soon, that apparent disappointment and denial create room for better alternatives. For your rising Junior, I went across several states for my undergrad years and across the country for my grad degrees and never regretted being out on my own. I hope she can figure out where to go and what to do. Indeed, if she just shifted to looking for work, in the current job market, she might get a very interesting and well-paying job and finish her education later with their support. A lot of technical and software engineering jobs don’t actually need a college degree, and some of the most successful people just toss college and go to work. From my own experience, working on stuff you love leads to a far wider and deeper education in the long run than (current) college ever could. So who knows what kind of opportunities your Junior may actually find? 🙂

        1. No worries. I re-read what I wrote and “jab” is easily confused with “job”. I really appreciate your and everyone’s support and patience to flesh-out a good response in this ongoing war.

Yeah, our rising freshman’s heart was never in it, so this could be perfect. Our kiddos unfortunately have student loans. She won’t incur any if she goes to the trade school where my husband works. My delicate, tiny, slip of a kid (but a black belt) is thinking of either HVac or automotive tech. Hah. Mermaid-princess-waist long hair and all.

Yep, rising junior is motivated and wants to move out west. She’s not interested in programming but rather electrical, nuclear or industrial engineering. She is natural and very talented artist (digital, pen and ink, paint and paper, etc.) but prefers to save her talent for herself and not compromise it for hire.

          1. After receiving the notice, I would contact the Alliance Defending Freedom and ask for legal help. I am not a lawyer, but I think you would have a case against the school for demanding that you get an experimental therapy as a condition of entering. That is against federal criminal law. Also, you have a case for damages because, in refusing to get the experimental shot they illegally demand, you are deprived of the good and benefit you would have received from attending that university. Finally, if enough people object, I think there may be a class action suit for significant monetary damages. Sue the Woke!

            1. Excellent, TY, we will do this. I am not holding my breath for good outcome where they can continue, and aiming for the detachment MP detailed, but we do feel an obligation to fight to the best of our ability.

We are members of HSLDA and even though Freshman has graduated, maybe they can be helpful. We will also enlist the help of our local state senator.

Rising Junior just got awarded a decent scholarship from a private gov. defense contractor here. She is super excited about a dual degree and our state u is one of only a handful who are combining engineer and digital media in a meaningful way—-even industrial application. We are grateful she is willing to walk away from these very real goods, but, yes, sadness.

I was hoping you’d comment. TY!

      3. Consider Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. They have said they will not mandate the jab. Just build a new science building and overhauled the college in the last 15 years. They do have engineering. My daughter graduated spring of 2020 and hoping my 17 yr old starts there in 2022.

        1. TY! You are correct, there are a lot of options out there.
Rising Freshman was accepted into Virginia Tech and Norwich University, but state U as a commuter was by far the best financial option.
So as far as finances goes (we are doing everything humanly possible to diminish the loan load, and a hefty one it is still), in-state tuition at a (red) state u would be the way to go. Unfortunately, the private schools can’t compete here.
Many complicating factors. No easy decision. Trust Do Love.

    2. Sighhhh. A significant friend of mine who lives in another state passed into Glory recently. The notice of her memorial service states that those who sign up to attend must be vaccinated. Sighhhh.

I am not criticizing those who have set that policy, because they live in a restrictive state and probably also trust the health authorities, as many do. It just makes the quandary more personal and anguishing.

I’ve watched a huge % of USA meekly submit to Bill of Rights/Economy shredding mandates and edicts …. including those from Our supposed Religious “Shepherds”?
I’ve watched Police and White People Demonized whilst FBI, Congress and sports “heroes” Take a Knee in remembrance of career criminals of color.
I’m watching My Military devolve from a Fighting Force into a Rainbow Kindergarten where People of Faith and Constitution loving Patriots are hunted down.
Hyperinflation, Drought, ChinaPlague Conspiracy, Gubermint Foreign/Domestic Policy Disaster, stores with bare shelves, Guns&Ammo disappearing and a Radical Democrat Party that despises Me/everything dear to Me! …… a Political Party that, no doubt, is already colluding with all manner of USA Enemies Foreign & Domestic! godless Global Re-Set is not a Fairy Tale.

    1. I echo your sadness about the military, CD. Even though my husband retired long ago (after a 20 yr. career), I will never feel like a civilian. My father was also a 30 yr. Naval Aviator, so you can see it’s in my blood.

I recently spoke to a good friend who was a Navy nurse, and then after that career, is working as a civilian nurse at the Naval Hospital. She said the Navy is so “woke” now. They are even doing “sex change” surgery. My father must be shaking his head; pray for us Papa!

It doesn’t give me great confidence about our “fighting forces” being ready for battle. I realize the rules come down the chain, and there are plenty of souls who don’t agree with what’s happening, but………

    2. How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky:
There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.
      1) Healthcare- Control healthcare and you control the people.
      2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to
control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
      3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
      4) Gun Control- Remove the ability of the people to defend themselves from their
Government. Thus less (or no) resistance to a police state.
      5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).
      6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.
      7) Religion – Remove the belief in God from the Government and schools.
      8) Class Warfare – Divide the people into “wealthy” and “poor,” causing discontent: It will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Alinsky merely simplified Vladimir Lenin’s original scheme for world conquest by communism, under Russian rule

Our priest cried during consecration today. It was so moving. And it was magnificent everyone following him out after mass.

    1. Us too, LittleOne! Fr. Mike of a neighboring parish, has been lenient this whole time, and he arranged it all. We had around the same turn out. I thanked Fr. Mike, (who doesn’t know me from Eve) and told him that I would not have been able to have made it through this last year without him. When I shared my parish name, he got excited and said he’d be there tomorrow for a 40 hour Adoration and Vespers. Fr. Mike may lead me on a path back into my home parish after a year + of being away. May his pastoral charity rub off on all our unyielding clergy here! ❤

      1. I did attend Vespers with Fr. Mike last night at our parish’s 40 hours of Adoration devotion followed by the Sacrament of Confession. I was the only one present that was unmasked at the start. I prayed to be invisible to any one there that might want to flex their tyrannical muscles over the matter and also invisible to those who may still sense that this measure is beneficial and may be concerned. At the end of our time together, a couple of other fellow parishioners had their masks pulled down around their necks. Praise be to God for courage. We need more of that.
I went to reconciliation blindly as there was a seven foot partition draped in what looked like a fine table cloth and no chair or kneeler. I was fretting going to my pastor or parish priest as I still sense that my heart is not ready for that reunion quite yet and I prayed for a third option. I was granted that petition in an unknown English/Spanish speaking priest.
By the graces of God, I returned back to my Church freely breathing after a long break away and made a good confession. I am not ready to return back full time, yet was so pleased to meet some familiar faces and friends with a smile and greetings and to let Fr. Mike, from our neighboring parish, know that I heard him on Sunday and came to spend an hour with him in my neck of the woods. 😉

    1. I’m with Charlie’s opinion as stated in this piece, Linda. It’s not in the historical psyche of China to invade with military weapons on foreign shores. But, boy oh boy, they’re working overtime to dominate and have already infiltrated into this country in ways that could continue to cause great hardship… such as bioweapons, crippling cyber attacks and all manner of evil, both life-changing and deadly. Just look what they’re doing to the Yugurs. Barbaric.

  27. SIAP, came across this inspiring biographical video concerning St. Joan of Arc. It also displays many wonderful paintings showing St. Joan at different times in her life. Please ignore the “HORRIFIC” click-bait word in the title since the video is basically a historical account. Video runs for 14 exciting minutes;

    Given the circumstances regarding Joan, she reminds me of Deborah, a prophetess, and the Judge of Israel in 1235 BC. She was raised up, by God Himself, to be the undisputed leader of the Israelites. Judges 4 contains this account of her bravery, particularly her strength in the Lord God;

    The similarities that I see between St. Joan and Deborah are that they both acted as if they were Joshua, the man who was instructed by God to lead the Jews into the Land of Canaan, the Promised Land. The words that God spoke to Joshua before he led the Israelites across the River Jordan included many promises;

“𝑵𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆; 𝒂𝒔 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑴𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒔, 𝒔𝒐 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖. 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖. In my opinion, these are exactly the same words that He’s saying to each one of us on this site today. All of us in this joined community of believers in the Lord Jesus are facing the same challenges as did St. Joan, Judge Deborah and Joshua.

True, we may not be facing armies with swords, shields, horses and archers. Yet many of us suffer from seemingly chronic illnesses – I know that I am. So do my wife and daughter. Some days I’m so physically tired that my legs feel like they’re made of Jello. Many of us may be psychologically battered by resisting the last 5 years of media attacks and indoctrination.

Make no mistake – that’s our enemy’s plan. Lucifer wants us to give in and hide away from the stress and pressure; physical and/or psychological. However, what was that key that enabled St. Joan, Judge Deborah and Joshua to fight on until the end? In all three Instances, God had given them His Word personally. St. Joan had visits from Saints, Judge Deborah was given a prophetic word, and Joshua heard the words that we read today, recorded in Joshua Chapter 1.

    We can also claim those same promises ourselves. We have our blessed Redeemer, Jesus, standing at our side holding us up under both arms if necessary. The Holy Spirit is within our hearts gently pointing out the road in front of us, step-by-step. Finally, there’s our Heavenly Father who has promised us that He’s eons ago prepared our works for us, that all you and I need to do is walk in them. It’s just as He said to us in Ephesians 2:10;

“𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎.”
    https://biblehub.com/nkjv/ephesians/2.htm

    If any of us ever feels that we’re not up to any one of those good works, then I’d encourage you to pray as I do. For example, perhaps, yet again, you sense the Holy Spirit prompting you to speak to that neighbour about Jesus. If you’re like me, you’ve probably sensed that several times before but could never screw up the courage to say anything. If so, pray (in your mind) something like the following;

“Heavenly Father, please fill me with your Holy Spirit. Please give me Your words to say instead of my own, in Jesus’ name I pray.”

Don’t force anything. Instead, rest in the Lord. If He has words for you to say, they’ll come to your mind. All you need to do then is open your mouth and speak those Words out. Of course, if you can avoid drooling onto your chin, that often improves the presentation!

I so much hope that something that the Lord has led me to write might be of assistance in your daily walk.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

    1. Dave, A few days ago, I commented on the 1920 Battle of Vistula, I referred to the article: ‘Miracle of Vistula’: When Our Lady Saved the World from Communism. From that post:

On the morning of Aug. 15, the Feast of the Assumption, wave upon wave of Soviet soldiers continued to attack Warsaw. Yet that morning, from within the city, Polish forces managed somehow to stem their advance. And then, against all odds, they began to retake ground that the Red Army had won. The Soviets started to wonder how the Polish army, which they had seen defeated for many weeks, had begun to fight back with fresh heart against a superior foe. A Soviet counterattack ensued, but it was futile. The Red Army was unable to vanquish the defending Poles. In fact, as the day of Aug. 15 progressed, Polish soldiers seemed to become bolder in counterattack.
And this from the archives of Radio Free Europe:
Future French President Charles de Gaulle, who served as a military adviser during the war, wrote on August 17: “Our Poles have grown wings. The soldiers who were physically and morally exhausted only a week ago are now racing forward in leaps of 40 kilometers a day. Yes, it is victory! Complete, triumphant victory!”

“True, we may not be facing armies with swords, shields, horses and archers. Yet many of us suffer from seemingly chronic illnesses – I know that I am. So do my wife and daughter. Some days I’m so physically tired that my legs feel like they’re made of Jello. Many of us may be psychologically battered by resisting the last 5 years of media attacks and indoctrination,” you wrote.
Dave, what the Virgin Most Powerful did for the Polish soldiers in 1920, I ask this same grace for you.

  28. In its earlier form, Covid-19 showed many “novel” structures and this is why it was called novel (new). The follow study published back in early 2020 confirmed this and it’s lab origins:

This bottom study is from Jan/Feb 2020.
This is the study that promoted Luc Montagnier (who discovered the HIV virus and was nominated for a Nobel prize in 2008/2009) to state that the virus was “of laboratory origin” and would eventually “shed” the AIDS Like Insertions and return (re-mutate) back to a less virulent form over time. [ https://www.cnews.fr/france/2020-04-17/le-coronavirus-est-un-virus-sorti-dun-laboratoire-chinois-avec-de-ladn-de-vih%5D.
The below study concludes it is because of these 4 new AIDS-like insertions that Wuhan Coronavirus could jump to humans when it was originally known only to infect animals (bats).

  30. Interesting headline today: “Global glitch: Swaths of internet go down after cloud outage” Can’t help but wonder if this is a test run for eventually pulling the plug on all news outlets. We shall see… 🙂

    1. San San, do you have the source you’re referring to with definitive proof of these statements? I’ve seen many reports wondering if we might go into a pandemic with avian flu, but none definitively report that we are there or that we’ll definitely end up there. Not saying that China wouldn’t use this means to stir up problems, simply wanting to be careful about how we share information.

        1. Beckita, I understand your question now……no, its just my take on the next “possible” pandemic. History has proven that China continues to blame animals for viruses that sickens man – I believe that these viruses are manipulated in “labs” and either escape or are bioweapons. I think the “wuhan” evidence confirms manipulation of dangerous virus and outbreaks.
