A woman who lives close to Washington and has participated in protests there before offered this VERY useful information for getting around on a day when there is likely to be a massive crowd.

Many have been writing about what a terrible year 2020 has been. They are right, but something I do not see mentioned as often as I would like is that almost all of the things that made it terrible were entirely manufactured crises, manufactured for political benefit and to increase the power of government over a subject people. The only real uncontrollable was the emergence of the Covid virus. If we had taken the same approach to that as we did in previous outbreaks of new viruses (such as the Hong Kong flu in 1968), by following the science to determine what it was, how it differed from previous viruses, and how best it was contained, we would have had a largely normal year. Because public officials, media and health bureaucrats sought to maximize terror over it and bowdlerize statistics in order to prioritize their ideological goals, we have a real catastrophic crisis on our hands – one that is almost entirely manmade.

It is not just that these malicious characters made a large lizard into the equivalent of Godzilla. Their hyperbole has been so ridiculous that it engendered pushback in a form that minimized the very real dangers of Covid to some segments of the population. Yes, it’s a lizard, not Godzilla, but it is a notably venomous lizard. Covid IS deadly to people with particular pre-existing conditions, mainly obesity, diabetes and very advanced age. The treatments it responds to are different than in the case of most viral infections. Thus, we withheld life-saving treatments from many, solely for political reasons. We consigned the most vulnerable to death houses, solely for political reasons. The media celebrated the vicious idiots in public office who did the worst job while attacking those who actually followed the science to develop good public policy – all for political reasons. We made what was a serious new challenge into a deadly and catastrophic crisis – to get Trump. It boggles my mind that so many, who the malicious officials and media were willing to kill by withholding effective treatment, bought into the insanity in order to be counted among the cool kids. 

Yet now the bill is about to come due. In the Bible story of the Tower of Babel, men thought they could become like gods if they built a tower that would reach into the heavens. It was a foolish effort, but God confounded them for their arrogance and hubris. I have been thinking of this year as a game of Jenga. In that game you start with a tower built of many blocks. Each person takes turns strategically pulling out a block that, he hopes, will not cause the tower to come crashing down. The player who pulls out the block that causes the inevitable collapse is eliminated. The left has been eagerly pulling out the blocks that hold our society up, as normal people try (sometimes desperately) to fortify the tower. The FBI block has been pulled, as has that of the CIA and the State Dept. The justice Dept. has been pulled, police departments are being defunded or declawed. The courts have quit the field. The blocks holding up over 100,000 small businesses have been pulled. The confidence of honest elections block has been pulled. The left anticipates pulling what blocks remain in this next year. They have a great chance of succeeding. But what do they think is going to happen then? Do they really think they will not be crushed in the crashing rubble? And it will be left to responsible people of faith and humility to rebuild the society that the left has insanely pulled down. 

We are on the verge of entering a long, dark tunnel, brought on by the hubris of frivolous, shallow men who thought themselves gods. When we will come out and what we will be when we get there, only God knows. God is not mocked. All the manufactured crises of the last year will give way to broad social collapse and real crises. Even now, I wonder at the massive spikes in Covid cases in the very places where the lockdowns are most draconian. If California, the most locked-down state in the country, were not part of the United States, the country’s Covid cases (whether phony or real) would be in decline. I know, from studying many previous studies on the matter, that masks are ineffective in preventing the transmission of viruses except in tightly controlled environments with tight protocols on the proper use of them. They are useless in the wild. And yet, I can see no reason why the disease should be so much worse in those areas most tightly locked down. Yes, the people will be more miserable because of the controls imposed over them, but getting profoundly sicker than in areas with a light touch makes no sense to me. Unless…God is hinting to a people whose hearts are entirely hardened that HE IS NOT MOCKED. I think the lesson will get far blunter in the New Year that we are not gods – and our only hope is to humble ourselves before the one, true God and trust in Him.

I can’t tell where the tunnel we are entering will take us and how long we will be there, but I know our duty is to be light in the darkness for as long as it prevails.

Gavin Newsom’s outrageous discriminatory persecution of Christians. I deeply admire the work Thomas More does in defending religious liberty across the land – and I have special affection for them because of their steadfast work on behalf of David Daleiden in his battle with the modern and murderous Goliath called Planned Parenthood.

    1. Yes indeed, stay in groups. We visited Washington DC in 2019. The souvenir shops near the White House were selling mostly souvenirs mocking Trump (toilet accessories, etc. ), had it been the same in case of Obama, there would be riots and accusations of racism… (The Obama accessories they were still selling there were only super hero-like). Anyway, it is a hostile territory towards Trump, you can feel it in the air. As for the closed restaurants… we tried Chipotle there, walked in and quickly walked out, it was so filthy and obscure, not a pleasant experience…God bless you and keep you all safe.

  3. This will be the minor tribulation, as I understand it, since it is not the very end of times. Will this period generally follow the pattern of what has been laid out in Revelations?

    1. Yes, Judith, from what I understand, it will… as you say “generally” follow the Book of Revelation. One major fulfillment that will only come at the end of Time is THE Antichrist. In this phase, we continue to contend with the spirit of anti-Christ.

  9. There seems to be little else left for us to do but “watch and pray, pray and watch, TRUST in God to save us,” it is beyond us. We can only be God’s willing servants to be His instruments in working out His will. May God continue to bless and guide us, inspire us and lead us in the right path. jas

In keeping a vigil of prayer, we also need to act… the prayer of doing – making our stand for God and tending to the people around us – will set us on a path of doing what we can in the spirit of St. Therese’s Little Way. And oh how powerful are little things!

  10. Charlie, your confusion over why areas with strong mask mandates have more cases is simple to resolve. There is evidence that masks make a person more susceptible to Covid-19 (and other diseases) by lowering immune function, reducing oxygen levels in tissues (which provides an environment where the Covid virus thrives even more), providing collection space on the mask for all kinds of bacteria, fungi and viruses which people constantly touch, and more.

    Masks aren’t simply useless – they are instrumental in sickening and killing people from Covid as well as fungal and bacterial infections of the skin, sinuses, and upper and lower respiratory tracts. (And the Powers know that fact.). Mask mandates that are very strong, applied to a fearful group of people, result in the longest periods of time spent with a mask on, and that increases that population group’s chances of illness compared to groups that use masks only when close to others or do not use masks at all.

    If you scan through that as I did, you’ll find in one place a very good compilation of the known material on mask use. Meehan has quite a biography, too, so I think his material is likely to be good.

    None of this, of course, changes the *crucial* fact that *everyone* is using corrupted test, case, and death data, which skews absolutely everything and is a factor few if any are talking about.. Nonetheless, big effects can still be seen or reasoned through, and some smaller datasets *may* be reasonably solid, and I think Meehan’s article is *in part* in that category.

    The first year when I was on the Women’s Renewal Team for my parish hosting a retreat weekend called “Christ Renews His Parish,” the theme we chose by prayer and discernment was “God Is Light” symbolized by our use of candles in our table decorations and artwork (such as notebook covers, place mats, posters, etc.) for the weekend, and the song we chose was “Go Light Your World” by Kathy Troccoli.

            I’ve found myself singing the “line” (bass in my case) to my CDs – carols etc. Not. The. Same. And refreshing the vocal chords with… umm… something a tad stronger than water 🍻, which would be frowned on in most choirs. Unfortunately. At least, during practice/performance 😎 But hey – my home choral society will shortly embark on Handel’s “Messiah con molto Guinness”, for solo voice and cans. I reckon it’ll be an authentic performance, given that its first outing was in Dublin, home of the Blessèd Black Brew and…

            Ahem. Sorry.

    I think it is possible Charlie that many do not mention those things because all of it is so obvious, and it is written and talked about everywhere (except in the traditional media and congress). I believe many make the conscious decision to not state the obvious.

    I realized within days (not weeks, but DAYS) of the implementation of the “flatten the curve” lie that this maneuvering by the media and political class was a huge scare tactic and farcical scam with the main purpose being to make Trump look bad. The more clever and astute leftists realized very quickly there were many more advantages to be had in the advancement of their ideological schemes.

    The primary reason I had this realization is that the self-appointed royalty issuing their decrees were instantly declaring who the essential workers are, but . . . EVERY WORKER IS ESSENTIAL because each one must earn income to survive, pay bills and buy food for self and his/her children. THIS IS SO OBVIOUS!!!

    The farce became more obvious as the “flatten the curve” lie morphed into one deceit after another.

    Watching and reading everything from those getting ready to go to Washington for January 6th makes me think of the Civil War days. Then units were often comprised of men and boys from the same town or city and the citizens would line the streets to watch them form up and march off to join the fight. I cannot be there physically but will be there in prayer and spirit with you all.

    Go with God. Be strong and keep the image of St. Joan, sword raised to heaven, as your guide!

    Last July, we traveled to Pacific Northwest. There is a man who makes mountain dulcimers and was selling them locally. Anyways my husband just loved them. My husband was able to get one for Christmas. The man who crafts them is an inspiration, a true squirrel. I hope it’s okay to post this link here of him playing one of his songs.   18. $1200 stimulus check from the IRS came this morning. I would rather have businesses open than this dribble that will hardly help people to catch up. And, with the economic collapse that this Covid bill will cause, it is all but dust. ;(

      However, on Oct 18th, 2019, a pandemic exercise was held here in the USA. It was called Event 201. It was sponsored by John Hopkins/Bloomberg School of Health, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the World Economic Forum (WEF). At least one month before the virus was released, somehow these people knew exactly what was going to happen.

    it describes a component of our current battle.

    The portion containing that phrase reads:

    “I summon today

    I am working through Fr. Ripperger’s “Binding Prayers For Use By The Laity” and that prayer was today’s reading.

    Ripperger’s version uses “Druids” instead of “Wizards”.
    I was struck by the use of the word “smiths”, for, yesterday in reading the Catechism of Trent on the subject of Pennance, they write that the meaning of “contrition” means to break stones with something harder. I had never read that, but Dict.org has the definition from a 1913 Webster dictionary: http://dict.org/bin/Dict

    So, since “contrition” once had a meaning I did not know, I suspected that “smiths” may have one too, but I have not found anything out of the ordinary. Does anybody know of any alternate meaning of “smiths”?

    1. Personally, I’d substitute the word “dark” for “black”. What do you think, Timothy? Dark has a meaning that can be applied to a demonic agenda or any other type of subterfuge, whereas black is mostly used as a colour or as a name for a race of people.

      If pagandom were totally black, then no-one could be deceived into joining it. Whereas the opposite is almost always the reality. For instance, my personal 12 years long involvement in Zen Buddhism was at least partially due to its deceitful appearance of being the pursuit of a pure and good God. The truth of its “dark” and deceitful nature was obscured from me by both my sin and its beguiling exterior.

      That is until God Himself reached down in His grace and revealed it to me. Thank you, Father, for revealing the completed work of your Son, Jesus, both to me and to all of us.

    2. Timothy, a Smith is anyone who “manipulates” creation.
      Thus manipulation can be good or evil.
      There is the title “Wordsmith”. They are those who create with words, both as writers and musicians writing lyrics.
      You can easily recognise those that write either musical lyrics or stories with evil intent or influence.
      Incantations are words. The creation of these incantations are done by a wordsmith. Witches and sorcerers use these incantations along with some form of creation (potions, charms, wands, symbols, etc) to do witchcraft and sorcery.

  32. I’ve been cogitating on something since I realized that Mr. Biden would be declared President.

    I went back to see when Our Lady appeared in the sky, which was 5/13/2017. 7 years from 2017 is 2024, which is another election year.

    I believe that the Democrats are going to sweep Georgia, giving them control of all three parts of the government. I believe that it won’t be long until Mr. Biden resigns due to dementia or Alzheimer’s, or for whatever reason, putting Harris in charge. When that happens everything will go to more hell than it already is. Then the people who voted the democrats in are going to REALLY feel what they have wrought. Unless they are entirely miserable, mentally and physically, they will not have any reason to listen to the Immaculate Heart of Mary when she intervenes. This sets it up so everyone will.

    I am NOT presenting this as prophecy (I’m not one!) ….just ruminations and cogitations.

    I read once that most people don’t hit their knees when everything is going well. Just a final thought.
