The thing that is most frustrating for ordinary people right now is that, despite watching openly shameless election fraud on a massive scale, there is little an ordinary person can do about it. That rests almost entirely on the shoulders of Donald Trump and of Republican “leaders.” Yeah, a whole bunch of Republican “leaders” have said we should just shut up and take our medicine without complaint – including former President George W. Bush. That one disgusts me. After we stood up for him countless times as the left’s smear machine attacked him, that he should stick a shiv in us and the very idea of honest fair play is a deep betrayal. But I always knew that some would surprise us for the good and some for the bad.

After a week and a half, the President’s team is focused intently on real, actionable cases of fraud and evidence of systemic fraud in these Democrat-run swing states that all stopped counting at nearly the same time election night. I remain at a confidence of about 70% that Trump will prevail in winning a second term – but that is dependent on courts and legislatures ruling honestly based on evidence rather than acting as political hacks or timid pansies. As we have all seen, the Democrats in politics and their fellow Democrats in the media are doing their dead-level best to pretend that all that is left now is the coronation of Joe Biden. But nobody except their own acolytes are buying anything they say any more.

What I am 100% certain of is that the Democrats are not going to get away with the brazen fraud this time. Oh, they may manage to install Joe Biden as a Potemkin president, but after four years of trying to reduce America to ashes, all they will get to preside over is the ashes they created. Over the next few months, in-person voting is going to make a come-back in legislatures and judicial chambers – and voter ID is going to become a thing. By so nakedly defrauding the country, they have revealed that all their sob stories about poor minorities being too stupid and irresponsible to be able to secure ID’s is both racist AND solely designed to facilitate voter fraud on a massive scale. Their calls for unity after battering normal Americans for four years is palpably a call for us all to just submit to their fraudulent power grab. (James Woods expressed this perfectly, but I warn you there is a significant vulgarity in this delicious tweet.)

Contrary to establishment media reports, which are desperately trying to anoint Biden, evidence of widespread massive election fraud abounds everywhere. It includes people who have been dead since the civil war voting, massive dumps of ballots marked only for Biden, Democratic precincts that produced more ballots than they had eligible voters (in at least two cases, with more than double the votes as there were voters in the precinct) and more. ALL of these types of obvious fraud come from and benefit Democrats. What may be the most notable is Dominion Software, which, at a certain level, had an algorithm that started switching Trump votes to Biden en masse.  Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) has reported that the U.S. military has seized the servers that host Dominion. Midweek, I was chatting with an official in Texas with whom I had collaborated in the 2018 cycle. “You may have been right that we did not lose the suburbs after all, Charlie,” he said. When I replied that I had said we did lose the suburbs nationally, he rejoined, “No, you said it looked like fraud to you, but the only way you could think of was by doing it in the software, which would require a larger conspiracy than you could imagine. Looks like it wasn’t your analysis that was off, but your imagination.” I may owe a lot of suburbanites a big apology. 2018 was just a dress rehearsal for the fraud perpetrated this year.

Now Sidney Powell, perhaps the toughest, shrewdest lawyer of our time, promises she is going to “release the Kraken” on every one of the fraudsters. Already compelling, the evidence of massive fraud of the type previously only seen in authoritarian third-world countries is mounting every day. Using my traditional analytical methods, I estimate that Trump won the national popular vote by 12 million votes – and I am suddenly much more confident in my old style of analysis. Make no mistake, though, none of this means the matter is settled. That depends on honest courts and courageous legislatures. I have friends who are judges and a LOT of friends who are legislators – but judges are no longer known for their honesty nor legislatures for their courage. What would be best, in my mind, would be to declare that this election is so rife with obvious fraud that new secure elections of federal offices be held in five or six states. But the reality is that these decisions could go either way, depending on the honor and courage of the judges and legislatures involved.

Our country is on the brink. If there is a re-vote in some states and Trump prevails, the left will do what it always does when it doesn’t get its way: riot, loot, burn and murder. If Biden is seated despite the obvious massive fraud, the half of the country that DOES care about fair play and is willing to accept an honest loss without violent insurrection will become the real resistance. Biden would be the first fully and obviously illegitimate president in America history. His orders would be without effect – and attempts to revoke the Bill of Rights would be openly flouted by those who are not already become rabbits – and with force if all else failed. Already three governors; Tate Reeves of Mississippi, Ron DeSantis of Florida, and Kristi Noem of South Dakota, have said they will not obey any federal order to shut down their states. Police and military leaders are going to have to decide whether they will stand with those trying to unravel the Constitution or with ordinary people. (The FBI has already decided: this completely corrupt and politicized agency is now simply the paramilitary arm of the Democratic Party. If I witnessed a murder the FBI was investigating, I would not talk to them. I would talk to local authorities and would not object if the FBI watched, but I would not talk directly to those corrupt operatives under any circumstances.) The economy, already weaker than most know, will completely tank – which will lead to violent unrest among the left – who right now think they are going to get everything ordinary people worked for. There are a host of things Trump can do to put the spotlight of truth onto the left’s machinations. Ordinary people, angry at being defrauded will be doing the same sort of things. Shoot, that is the fundamental purpose of CORAC.

The American founders believed that, with carefully crafted, minimalist and prudent policy choices, they could forge a great nation out of the backwater set of colonies from which they were formed. They were right. The problem is that now a bunch of primitive, ignorant schemers, convinced (without evidence) of their own superiority, believe that American liberty and prosperity are characteristics – like eye or hair color – and that no amount of crackpot schemes will change that. They are about to find they are wrong.

Our founders knew that our system would only work for a “moral and religious people.” Now we are entered upon a great battle between those who hold to the Judeo-Christian principles upon which this nation was founded and a Pagan cohort who insist on dictating what everyone must do and when and how they must do it. If the Judeo-Christians prevail, America’s best days are yet ahead of her and we will see a new birth of freedom and prosperity. If the Pagans prevail, America as we know it will join the ash heap of failed nations which allowed crackpot utopians to seize control and ruin them. The decision will not come without a great contest. We have a great fight ahead of us. If Trump prevails, we will be tested to see if we have the fortitude to arrest and jail the violent rioters who will inevitably follow, to arrest and jail those civic leaders – governors and mayors primarily – who enable and encourage the violence, completely abdicating their solemn duty to the citizenry of their jurisdiction. If Biden prevails – the first completely illegitimate and fraudulent president in our history, will we have the fortitude to treat the United States government for what it will have become, an army of occupation determined to rule the folksies? We will have to work to overthrow it without destroying it.

Even if we choose the nobler path politically, if it is not informed by reliance on God, all our victories will be transient and we will fail miserably. If we do turn our hearts back to the God who created and sustains us, all our failures will be transient and we will see renewal – first, of America, then of the world, and then the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart. Do NOT neglect the prayer of doing, which almost every pious Christian neglects too much…but feed yourself with contemplative and invocatory prayer that you may be fit and nourished for the battle before us.

I laughed out loud when the McCarrick Report was issued by the Vatican. When it was first announced two years ago that the Vatican would mount such a report, I cynically thought to myself that this Vatican would find some way to blame it all on St. John Paul or Pope Benedict. I was wrong. The Vatican blamed it on both of these men – and Abp. Vigano for good measure. I’m surprised this Vatican didn’t find a way to pass some blame around to Cardinal Burke and Cardinal Pell.  The only person who is treated as entirely innocent of any responsibility for the whole thing is Pope Francis. Vigano, of course, offered a spirited rebuttal to the Vatican’s attempt to whitewash this.

I would not be surprised if both St. John Paul and Pope Benedict had not taken reports of such aberrant behavior seriously enough. Both of these men risked summary execution to become Priests in Poland and Germany, respectively, in the time of Hitler. That men would betray the honor and dignity of the Priesthood for this vulgar thing was literally unthinkable to them. They simply could not believe the depth and pervasiveness of the rot that had invaded the hierarchy. Meanwhile we are supposed to believe that Pope Francis, who has spent his entire papacy enabling the rotters, is entirely innocent?! Investigators in the United Kingdom came up with a report on the subject that is wildly at odds with the Vatican’s take on it.

Turning away from the Vatican Bureau of Obfuscation and Deflection, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Chairman Jose Gomez, of Los Angeles issued a statement congratulating “president-elect” Biden on his victory and celebrating that Biden would be the second Catholic president in U.S. history. I have no little regard for and deep affection for Archbishop Gomez…but what kind of fumble-fisted idiocy is this? To decree a winner in a contested election in which there is substantial evidence of massive, systemic fraud is not a call for unity, but to degenerate into pure politically partisan hackery. And to celebrate the Catholic identity of a man who openly opposes Church teaching on abortion and gay marriage, who would force nuns to pay for contraception – and whose vice-presidential nominee thinks membership in the Knights of Columbus is sufficient to disqualify a person from public office is hideously offensive. Though he had adopted a Norse Paganism by the time he came to power, Adolf Hitler was born a Catholic. Thankfully, the Bishops don’t usually celebrate that fact. That they would celebrate the extension of the holocaust of babies is abhorrent and deeply offensive. There will be an accounting.

I know our Bishops are terribly demoralized. Their moral authority has never been more deeply diminished than it is now. I wonder if it ever occurs to them that this decay in their reputation has grown concurrently with their focus on being political arbiters. Whatever, they are not going to regain their stature by trying to become the house of prayer for the Pagan left. The only man they should be partisans for is Jesus Christ.

For most of American history, Catholics could, in good conscience, choose either of the candidates the parties put up for the presidency. The last Democrat Catholics could, in good conscience, support was Jimmy Carter. Yes, I know he was an incompetent bungler, but he did not openly oppose actual Christian and Catholic teaching. That the Bishops have treated those Democratic presidents and candidates who have so opposed basic Christian doctrine as business as usual is a hideous scandal. That does not mean they needed to endorse Trump. Rather, it means they should have advocated with full-throated vigor for the creation of a liberal party that embraces the Judeo-Christian ethics on which this nation was founded rather than getting cozy with those who actively seek to destroy those ethics.

I am tickled pink at the ratings dumpster fire Fox News finds itself in in the aftermath of its election night coverage. The network that has, for years, routinely drawn more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined now finds itself routinely in second or third place with only about half as many viewers as it had two weeks ago. The problem? On election night Fox went full lefty, trying to join all the establishment networks. It apparently thought that we deplorables were too stupid to notice and that it would keep all of us while gaining a chunk of the lefty establishment viewers. This was a bigger marketing disaster than the introduction of “New Coke” in 1985.

It wasn’t the premature call of Arizona that got me on election night. Very early on, the head of Fox’s Decision Desk, Chris Stirewalt, said that Democrats would gain five seats in the House. Though I only get involved peripherally in politics anymore (informally advising friends and friends of friends), old habits die hard. On election night, I was logged onto eight different sites – some news, some governmental, to monitor things. As soon as Stirewalt made this pronouncement, I went to check all my other sites, because it did not sound right to me. Sure enough, there was no evidence of any such thing anywhere. I watched to see how such a call was justified. When the hosts asked him about some of his weird calls, he simply gave some variation of, “I’m really smart” rather than actual evidence. I knew then. I have dealt with dozens of such pompous buffoons over the course of my life. They are always supremely confident of their own prowess even as they are going into their pratfall.

I think the stunning collapse of Fox News is a foreshadowing of what is about to happen to all the fraudulent institutions in our society. We are all called to be Samson. As you recall from the Book of Judges, Samson was a phenomenally strong man who strayed from the Lord for a time. The Philistines took him captive, but didn’t notice as his hair – the source of his strength – grew back. In the end, Samson called again on the name of the Lord, pushed the pillars holding up the Philistines’ temple apart and let it all crash down on them. Time to grow our hair back (turn back to the Lord) and bring the new Pagans’ temple down on their heads. (But, unlike Samson, let us get out from under the rubble and rebuild the world under God.)

Unless they slap a warning on a posting, I will not leave Facebook right away. I still hope they might reform – but that hope is getting dim. If they do slap a warning on anything, I will immediately cease posting there (though I will leave what is already there up) and start posting exclusively on Parler and MeWe. I don’t know if either will succeed or if either or both will truly avoid censorship. But for now, they have my support.

    I have been in mission work for sixteen years and have been in it much longer by affection. I was never very much concerned with the theological problem of what used to be called the salvation of pagans. But traveling around the world and visiting leper colonies and seeing starving people fight vultures in Latin America, seeing starving mothers with starving children strapped to their backs in India, seeing 250,180 people a night sleeping in the street in Calcutta, seeing all of the hunger and want and indigence and pain below the thirtieth parallel, I came to have a new vision of the world. Traveling through all those worlds, I never saw so many Christs in my life. Christs, yes. But you say, they don’t know him. No, they do not consciously know him, but he is in them as long as they do not rebel; he is in them by their sufferings. I was hungry; I was sick; I was naked; I was homeless. When? When? When? No, they didn’t know, but Christ was in them. Remember these words were said to the nations, to the Gentiles, and that’s how they are saved. We will be surprised to see that many of those who have not known Christ as we have known him may be ahead of us in the kingdom of heaven because they were always with his cross, even though it was unwitting.

  2. If I may ask a question of Steve BC please if you see my post..I live in Ohio and we too are seeing a rise in cases of covid. Being a hairstylist I am quite close to my clients,my husband and I are on prophylactic hydroxychloroquine taken once a week.My question is can we also take quercetin daily? Thankyou

    1. Absolutely, Robin. The most important is getting your Vitamin D3 level up over 40. For someone in the public square, I would recommend over 50. Get a blood test every 3-4 months literally for the rest of your life and take D3 supplements until you’re over 50 for D3 (not years of age!). For the rest, you can read my paper and get more information.

      Note that HCQ is not very effective against Covid on its own. You *must* take supplemental zinc (usually 30 mg/day) with it for full effectiveness. If you add Quercetin, it also needs zinc to be fully effective. That’s because it’s actually zinc that does the work inside the cells to suppress viral replication until your immune system can clean out the cell. HCQ and Quercetin act to build zinc levels in the cell by transporting zinc from outside the cell into the cell. That is why they are called zinc ionophores. Also, the preventive dose for HCQ is 1-2 caps a week, and given your work, I might suggest you take 2 caps a week, spread apart. The zinc is every day.

      2. Steve, Regina McQuistion my husband passed from covid November 9th. He had diabetes. I had covid also, no symptoms. Drank Holy Water with a little blessed salt in with it. In fact my parish priest dropped off more at my front door. How sweet!

          1. A friend, Fr. Hilz, a Franciscan, now Pa. said the priest can’t just make the sign of cross over the water. He must pray an official prayer over the water and salt. And Fr. Joseph does this

            1. Regina, there are two ways to bless holy water. One way is by a simple blessing and it is holy water.. However, many prefer – as do I – the blessing of holy water which includes using exorcised salt. Here’s the blessing prayer with exorcised salt. The water and salt, then, take on the prayers as we use them with faith.

              The Older Rite of Exorcism and Blessing for Providing Holy Water:

              3. Beckita, it seems this specific method can only be carried out by a priest. Given many people’s desires for alternative ways to heal and protect themselves in the Storm, can this be done, perhaps in a variant form, by lay people like you or Regina or me?

                1. You’re right, Steve. It’s the prayer of a priest, in the person of Christ, who imparts the powerful words of the exorcism and blessing on the elements of salt and water. We lay folk have not the authority to do this.

Steve, just read an article by Dr Mercola , The Truth About Covid-19 ‘Long Haulers’, on his web site: http://www.mercola.com I think many will benefit from his report whether one was infected or has loved ones/friends who are recovering. You are spot on with what you recommend. Wish I knew how to get this in everyone’s hands.

        2. Judith, I did see this article, and it is something everyone recovering from Covid could usefully read. I’m incorporating some of its info into my next version of my Covid paper (coming along sloowly). Meanwhile, my takeaway is eliminate remaining virus with hyperbaric oxygen therapy for a week, reduce inflammation with the HBOT and anti-inflammatories, prevent improper clotting with natto- or lumbrokinase, and heal the gut with a good diet, unchlorinated water, and probiotics. Then gradually ease into activities as one can.

    I write to you now, because I am deeply troubled by current events related to the Nov 3 election, and feel your department’s jurisdiction is crucial for resolving wide scale election crime. I have a few questions about that.

    Why did the FBI sit on the Hunter Biden PC that held incriminating evidence about corruption by the Biden family and also evidence serving to justify President Trump’s inquiry to the Ukrainian president that was used by the House to justify impeachment?

    Surely the FBI must have known that the Dominion voting machines were highly susceptible to tampering (were in fact originally designed in Venezuela for that purpose), and were hosted on servers outside of the USA to block proper political supervision, so why was no preemptive action taken, or supervision provided to block voting fraud?

    Honest vote counting naturally requires oversight by the competing parties, and is guaranteed by law, but was not honored reliably in swing states. Why hasn’t the Justice Dept. sued to rule vote counting in Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia unlawfully conducted and thus too unreliable to stand?

    I trust that you are working these issues at a minimum.

    1. I have been pondering how the young ‘Nones” and atheists think about Thanksgiving and whom they are actually thanking? Would it give them pause? The answer came to me today when a relative said their returning college freshman was going to a “Friends giving” dinner.

      The answer –not that one can thank the creator but ourselves! Ha!

  9. When I was a lot younger, back in my high school days, I remember getting these weird english class reading assignments. Books that we were expected to read had topics of: humanity being enslaved with technology; America, Canada, & Mexico no longer existing as seperate countries; big brother government ran every aspect of everyone’s lives (marriage & families wasn’t allowed), and the government hunted you down & torment you if didn’t behave as a mindless slave; people only lived in cities and didn’t have freedom, and if people were allowed to have children, it was a 1 child limit that had death consequences for those who broke that rule.

    I look back and see it was a indoctrination program to get people to accept globalism, and the sad part is was a Catholic high school, no wonder why so many list their faith, the the wolves were in the institutions people trusted.

Aslan’s picture sparks a memory from C.S.Lewis’s “The Last Battle.” The evil ape, Shift, found a large lion skin and sewed it onto a donkey (not Democrat because it was written by an Englishman). Shift kept the fake lion-donkey in a shed during the day and would bring out the the monstrosity in dim light each each night to show to the assembled fearful animals. He would pretend that the donkey was Aslan who told him what to announce to the talking animals. Asian was on the move and he wants you to conform and serve! Do not ask hard questions! Reminded me of Biden being kept in the basement and not trusted to answer difficult questions, or be seen in daylight. Narnia stories are the best!

Thankyou SteveBC for taking the time to explain so throughly.I realized how important a persons vitamin D level was when I was treated for cancer 15 years ago and have been meaning to get mine checked ..I will admit this election ..or better yet spiritual battle our magnificent country is fighting has me up at the crack of dawn and before reading everything I can..Praying and begging our Heavenly Father to please help us..as I write this I am watching Tucker Carlson I just saw him throw Sidney Powell under the bus saying she hasn’t proven anything she is stating about the dominion machines flipping votes.. I am not happy to admit I have such rage in my heart for the demonic left..

        1. I don’t have the link to his show, but I did hear it first hand. I was shocked. He basically said that he repeatedly asked Sidney Powell to come on the show and provide his viewers with the evidence. She did not return his calls and finally told him (or perhaps his staff), to stop calling. He seemed appalled that she wouldn’t share her evidence. His show just became another one I crossed off my viewer list.

          1. There’s a possible explanation about Sidney Powell and it was addressed by the other female who appeared at the press conference yesterday (sorry I forgot her name). Rush just addressed all this on his show today and had an audio clip. The whole point is that evidence is not produced for the media or anyone else, but is presented in court at trial. Why give these jackals in the media anything?! They are shouting at Trump, Pence, McEnany so rudely; barbarians! Temper tantrums b/c they are not getting their way immediately.

    3. Ha Robin…I sent chills up a couple of my Priests’ spines years ago when I told them that, whether it is right or wrong, I completely loathe the devil. I said it with great animation and explained in detail why. When the devil and all his minions are fully consigned to hell, all vestiges of my hate will die.

  13. Well all, I am on day 12 of the chinese export. The first 2 or 4 days of ‘symptoms’ I blamed on a new all natural vitamin I had just started taking to counter/help glaucoma. The blame for vertigo/dizziness laid there within the new vitamins. Have not had any breathing or lung problems at all. Once I lost my taste (2 days later) and smell, I knew exactly what I had. The big Monster we have been locked down for! I have recovered! Not 100% but am definately better. The big C attached itself to me. I, for one have been WAY sicker with the dang flu! For me (I am 62, have autoimune and MS (or was diagnosed with MS back in’ 97 but that’s another story). so I feel I am fairing well, not by my own tho, prayers and rosaries have had a direct benefit. God love to you all, I am thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ and Mother Mary and the plentitude of Saints and Angels!. If it’s any help to anyone I have been taking EssentialC, zinc, Magnesium, D3/K2, potassium for 9 months prior to this. My brother is not fairing well, please pray for him, his name is Frank.

It’s called PRIDE. he needs to overcome his pride, and then Covid, perhaps they somehow go hand in hand? He is a STAUNCH Catholic except Confession. He, I think, thinks, as a man, cannot BAWL in the confessional a hard thing for him so if you got the time, please pray him from covid and the fears of the confessional! Much love to all! I watched Tucker for a few minutes last night and he said he had invited Sidney on his show but she declined and also failed to provide proof for her claims when he asked her for that. That kinda put a wet blanket on my excitement regarding that press conference because I’ve come to trust Tucker, but it makes me doubt Tucker at the same time. This is such a confusing time, and this is another reminder not to get caught up in anything but the Holy Trinity and Our Blessed Mother. They are the only ones we can count on unconditionally.

      2. Ultimately this will have to be proven in the courts, hopefully based on massive evidence, and not in the court of public opinion/speculation. Nothing surprising from Tucker Carlson. If I wanted to be taken seriously as a journalist, I’d have asked for the same in an effort to rise above the clutter. It’s a perfectly reasonable and legitimate ask. Most consumers reliant on the seesawing ‘news’ will likely find themselves even more exhausted and depleted of hope moving forward.

        If Trump does prevail in the courts, the opposition will likely leverage that for their next act of mayhem, claiming Trump usurped the democratic process, dictator, tyrant, orange man bad… etc.

        Totally agree that ALL our hope needs to be well placed in God alone, and that Our Blessed Mother will not lead us astray.

        If we are going to exhaust ourselves, we should exhaust ourselves in doing good without overcomplicating it. That would surely send even the slightest whiff of hopelessness packing, with a steady and sure sense of empowerment in Christ, even if it appears as weakness in the eyes of the world. Oh, how Our Jesus values just such a weakness!

        I’m less concerned about what’s playing out in the news and halls of power, than I am with folks fruitlessly depleting the talents that God entrusted them with. Or worse, burying them in the ground because their mired in hopelessness.

      3. Please note Tucker makes from what I read recently $ 6.000.000 per year with Fox ( although not as much as Hannity making $ 40.000.000 ) . He did not quit Fox after the scandalous Fox reporting on the election night and shortly after Fox chiming in with other main stream media crowning Joe undisputed and duly elected President. The fact is Fox is also one of main stream media outlets, and when it comes to crucial investigative acting like disputing validity of the fraudulent election, they are on the same bandwagon as CNN and other news giants. In other words, same people pull the strings behind Fox and other main stream media. They will keep attacking Democrats as such, however, they are apparently happy to have Biden in the White House.

    2. I did not know until reading the Zmirak article that Sidney Powell is a Christian. I am not surprised however as I think about how she has conducted herself in her legal career. Zmirak called her a Joan of Arc. I hope he is correct. We need a Joan now, more than any time I can think of in my life.

I remember when Sidney Powell wrote her book and how she was so very upset with what she had seen; now it is 100% magnified with what she has found; what a wonderful group of Americans going to fight for America and all of us here!   24. I am posting below a rather lengthy excerpt from Fr. Walter J. Ciszek, S.J.’s book “He Leadeth Me”. I have been meditating on his words for several days now.

    Although written in 1973, 10 years after his return to America from 23 years of imprisonment in the Soviet Union including 5 years in the dread Lubianka Prison and 15 years of hard labor in the lumber camps and copper and coal mines of Siberia. His experience there was what we would only describe as horrifying.

    So, this is a man who knew something about having his world turned upside down overnight. And he thought long and hard about it. He describes what sustained him through it all.

    What is so transfixing about his thoughts below is that they seem to anticipate what we are experiencing in America today, right now. It is eerie reading this.

    He expounds on the need to Trust in God alone and not on governments or princes or rulers or organizations. And from time to time God reminds us of this.

    As I meditate on this I find his emphasis on SOLE Trust in God to be a little disturbing. Over simplifying, he seems to be saying: “You can’t trust anything or anyone.” Only God. Can’t trust the Government. Can’t trust politicians. Can’t trust the electoral process. Can’t trust our institutions: The Congress, the Courts, the FBi, The DoJ, CIA. Can’t trust the Mayor. Can’t trust your neighbor. I am a little dubious about this emphasis.

    Also a bit concerning is that he seems to extend this kind of thinking in a much more veiled way, between the lines kind of way, to the Church itself. The Church undergoes “upheavals” over time. God alone sustains the Church. Don’t look to structures or organizations or people because they are going to disappoint you.

    That being said, I take a lot of solace in Ciszek’s account of how he survived his terrifying existence under the boot of Communism. And I take what follows in this excerpt as a sound path to follow in our own days ahead with respect to our own societal order emerging from Election 2020 no matter who wins and with respect to the Church which seems to be wandering into a strange new place as well.

    “The Old Testament is a chronicle of the many times and the many ways God tries to teach his Chosen People the lesson that he had chosen them , they were his people – yet neither in their turn must they forget him. And it is a record too, of how very often, in times of peace and prosperity, Israel came to take Yahweh for granted, to settle down in some routine and to accept the status quo as the be-all and he end all, to think of the established order as their support and sustenance, and to forget their ultimate goal and destiny as the people of the covenant. Then Yahweh would have to remind them again by the downfall of the monarchy, or by exile or the destruction of Jerusalem, that he alone must be their ultimate hope, their sole source of support, for he had chosen them out of all the people of the world to be a sign of his power and his love, and they must testify to him before all the rest of the world by the witness of their trust in him alone.

    That same lesson each of us must learn, difficult or not. How easy it is, in times of ease, for us to become dependent on our routines, on the established order of our day-to-day existence, to carry us along. We begin to take things for granted, to rely on ourselves and our own resources, to “settle in” in this world and to look at it for our support. We all too easily come to equate being comfortable with a sense of well-being, to seek our comfort solely in the sense of being comfortable. Friends and possessions surround us, one day is followed by the next, good health and happiness for the most part are ours. We don’t have to desire much of the things of this world – to be enamored of riches for example, or greedy or avaricious – in order to have gained this sense of comfort and of well-being , to trust in them for our support – and to take God for granted.

    It is the status quo that we rely on, that carries us from to to day, and somehow we begin to lose sight of the fact that under all these things and behind all these things, it is God who supports and sustains us. We go along taking for granted that tomorrow will be very much like today, comfortable in the world we have created for ourselves, secure in the established order we have learned to live with, however imperfect it may be, and give little thought to God at all.

    Somehow, then, God must contrive to break through those routines of ours and remind us once again, like Israel, that we are ultimately dependent on him, that he has made us and destined us for life with him through all eternity, that the things of this world and this world itself are not our lasting city, that his we are and that we must look to him and turn to him in everything.

    Then it is, perhaps, that he must allow our whole world to be turned upside down in order to remind us it is not our permanent abode or final destiny, to bring us to our senses and restore our sense of values, to turn our thoughts once more to him – even if at first our thoughts are questioning and full of reproaches. Then it is that he must remind us again , with terrible clarity, that he meant exactly what he said in those simple words of the Sermon on the Mount: “Do not be anxious about what you shall eat, or what you shall wear, or where you shall sleep, but seek first the kingdom of God and his justice.”

    So it was with the people of Israel, who must learn not to put their trust in princes or in kingdoms, but to be faithful only to Yahweh as he was ever faithful to them, and to put all their trust in him. So it has been throughout the history of the New Testament. There have been changes and upheavals in the Church herself, there have been persecutions. It is not princes or rulers, structures or organizations that sustain the Church. It is God who sustains her.

    So must it be [in our time and place]. God is constant in his love if we will but look to him, he will sustain us in every storm if we will but cry out to him, he will save us if we will but reach out our hand to him. He is there, if we will only turn to him and learn to trust in him alone. The upheavals in this world, or in the Church herself, are not the end of everything, especially of his love and of his constancy, to make us turn once more to him and cling to him again when all else that we counted on is overturned around us.

    And so it is in each of our lives. It is a sad commentary on our human frailty that we fail to think of God or to see him behind the comfortable routines of our day-to-day existence. It is only in a crisis that we remember him and turn to him, often as querulous and questioning children. It is in moments of loss or family tragedy or personal despair that men turn to him and ask, “Why?” — indeed are almost forced to turn to him, again and at last, for help and for support and for consolation. Mysteriously, God
    in his providence must make use of our tragedies to remind our fallen human nature of his presence and his love, of the constancy of his concern and care for us. It is not vindictiveness on his part; he does not send us tragedies to punish us for having so long forgotten him. The failing is on our part. He is always present and ever faithful; it is we who fail to see him or to look for him in times of ease and comfort; to remember he is there, shepherding and guarding and providing us the very things we come to count on and expect to sustain us every day. Yet we fail to remember that, comfortable as we are in our established order and the status quo, as day follows day.

    So it was in Albertyn, Poland. As the war tore apart the fabric of our once peaceful lives, my own included, that I came to understand more clearly and in some small way the truth in all its terrible simplicity: ‘Do not be anxious, therefore, saying what shall we eat or what shall we wear, or where shall we sleep, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Seek first the kingdom of God and his justice.” We would survive, although the world around us had changed completely. We would go on, today and tomorrow and the next day, picking up the pieces and working out each day our eternal destiny and salvation. There would be a tomorrow, and we would have to live in it — and God would be there as well. The Church would survive, perhaps not exactly as we had known it at the mission [in Albertyn], because the faith would survive among the people of God as it had always survived in times of persecution. One thing only need be of great concern to us in all this seeming upheaval and catastrophe: to be faithful to God and to look to him in everything confident of his love and his constancy, aware that this world and this new order was not our lasting city any more than the previous one had been, and striving always to know his will and to do it each day of our lives.”

My boss is stronger than the boss of the secular frauds and clowns you apparently find so compelling. Hee hee…back when I was doing politics full time, I knew a gambit I had launched was winning when the trolls took the time to come on blogs and tell me how stupid I was and how this time I had really messed up.
