The Silenced Majority is Finding Its Voice

Today, in Sacramento, a host of people from across California will be processing from the Cathedral to the steps of the Capitol, saying the Rosary along the way and then forming a living Rosary on the steps of the Capitol. I will have pictures up by Monday of what transpired. It is a quiet, but forceful, statement on the part of Catholic laity that, in defiance of secular government orders seeking to suppress Christian worship and practice, we will not be silenced. One of the coolest things the organizers have come up with is great lengths of white chiffon, which they will hold six feet apart from each other. The people forming the living Rosary will wear white shirts for the Hail Mary beads and red shirts for the Our Father beads. I am really looking forward to the pictures that our Sacramento coordinator has promised to send me. This is the project CORAC has been helping with and that Fr. Richard Heilman of the US Grace Force has also been helping with.

Last year, Msgr. Charles Pope wrote a telling piece about the stages of persecution. The manufactured and criminally mishandled Covid crisis has been used as a lever by the anti-God left to move that persecution into hyper-drive. Covid is a genuine challenge – but our response has been untethered to any honest health imperatives, solely calibrated to accomplish the three aims of attacking Donald Trump, marginalizing and persecuting people of Judeo-Christian faith, and habituating a formerly free people to arbitrary controls.

We have done a horrific job, failing to protect those who were most vulnerable while enforcing draconian rules on the rest of the population who are not unusually vulnerable. Years from now, there will be those who go back over the data from this period to find out what really happened. It will be hard, because so much of it has been intentionally bowdlerized and falsified – almost all flu deaths have been listed as Covid (and health providers get bonus money for doing so); people who had Covid antibodies but died from something else have been listed as Covid deaths, and single Covid positive results have been, in some cases, multiplied by a factor of ten. But by taking the death rate for a normal year and extrapolating it with the death rate from this year – while normalizing historic flu deaths – future researchers will be able to form a rough picture. Personally, I think the total Covid deaths for this year will cap out at around 70,000 – with 30,000 of those being entirely preventable and unnecessary deaths caused by forcing the most vulnerable into Covid-rich environments, such as nursing homes. Those 30,000 are a criminal offense, because in a system genuinely committed to best health practices, none but a few would have happened before we understood enough to adopt actual best practices. Those people were sacrificed on the altar of political aggression – and the worst aggressors are the ones our disgusting leftstream media most celebrate. Why not? The reckless aggressors are the guys advancing the narrative. I know, I know…somebody will tell me the death toll is already 150,000 in this country. I am telling you that is like the vote count in Chicago: when you pull out the frauds, there is much less to show – and a few years down the line serious work will be done to show what has really happened. And shoot, if they admitted the death rate is akin to a normal flu season, the aspiring tyrants could not keep the folksies under their thumbs.

You don’t hear much about Sweden these days, simply because all the evidence suggests their approach has worked, without destroying peoples lives and livelihoods or holding them captive to draconian diktats. Perhaps some of the irrational panic fostered by the likes of Dr. Anthony Fauci is about to be balanced out. Trump appointed Stanford Dr. Scott Atlas, a harsh critic of the over-reaction AND of the refusal to take actual needed prophylactic measures to protect the most vulnerable. Don’t expect any let-up until after November at the earliest, though: pretending that the venomous lizard which is Covid is actually Godzilla is just too useful for the aspiring tyrants of the left.

The #science crowd has become, overtly anti-science. William Kirkpatrick of Crisis Magazine has called them the new primitives. They think they are creating something new, but they are just using very old, discredited ideas to destroy what others have built over many generations. The new primitives are too lazy to learn much actual science or any actual history, but cannot bear to think they just are not very smart. Incapable of building anything themselves, they just destroy the work of better people than themselves. Some of them may actually have the potential to be smart, but after generations of mis-education and being told that they are special without any actual achievement being demanded, reality is colliding with their vastly inflated sense of prowess and sophistication. It is not surprising that the realization that they have been conned should spark rage in them, but they are raging at the people who have held things together rather than at the people who have systematically conned them. If left unchecked, they will usher in a new “dark ages.” They are just not educated enough to know what brings public health and what merely brings destruction. Some are lazy, foolish and shallow enough that they just want power by any means as quickly as possible. This is the “I want what I want, when I want it,” crowd and there is little hope for them. Others, though, may sense the con and act out in frustrated and poignant anger at it. These latter may be potent potential converts to reason and renewal.

All of this puts America and Western Civilization, itself, in grave danger. Healthy societies are built on faith in God. We have abandoned that in America, just as Europe did in the aftermath of World War I – and now are in danger of ingesting the same ideological poison which led to the execution of tens of millions for the crime of “wrongthink.” In truth, relentless ideology is not the opposite of faith; it is a clawing, superstitious faith for people who have lost the real thing.

The dissonance is heightened because religious institutions have, thus far, failed to mount any vigorous defense of faith, family and freedom. Pope Francis, the head of the largest Christian Church on earth, adds to the confusion because he focuses on ideology rather than faith. More and more Christians are wondering whether Christian leaders have the vigor to stand for Christ. Fortunately, I do know that the limp response of our Catholic hierarchy to the new waves of (for now) soft persecution and oppression is not the whole story. Many of the Bishops have figured out what game is afoot – and are talking quietly with each other on how to respond effectively. I don’t know what will come of it, whether it will be effective or feckless. But I do know they are quietly talking about it in hopes of mounting a united front – and that heartens me.

Back in the 60’s talk began of a “silent majority.” It was this silent majority that was credited with giving Richard Nixon his presidential victory in 1968, as people tired of the convulsions and violence of radicals – with the seeming tolerance and acquiescence of the Democratic Party. A silent majority, when effective, simply rises up quietly on election day to express their disapproval of the status quo.

Contrary to many popular current themes, we have no silent majority today which is going to come in and quietly banish the radicals to the sidelines. We have a silenced majority: normal people who the left with its agents in the media, social platforms, and public officials are actively suppressing with threats of losing their jobs or being literally and violently attacked. The difference between a silent and a silenced majority is that the silenced majority, when it speaks, is not content to let bygones be bygones. They want justice and punishment for those who have persecuted them. Unfortunately, the modern radicals do not want to be listened to; they want to forcibly silence anyone who disagrees with them. Their intellectual arteries have so hardened that they are no longer capable of making a coherent argument. The longer the wait before the reckoning, the larger and more punitive that reckoning is.

I have been grateful to see the silenced majority starting to find its voice. I was really struck by the massive defeat of incumbent Atlanta District Attorney Paul Howard. Howard, you may recall, charged two Atlanta policemen with murder in the case of Rayshard Brooks in June – without waiting for Georgia Bureau of Investigation to complete its investigation. The 23-year incumbent apparently thought that tossing in with Antifa and the Black Lives Matter communist front would ensure his re-election. Listening to the media and the rhetoric of loudmouth radicals, it seemed a safe bet. But when the votes came in, Howard lost to opponent Fani Willis, who garnered 73 percent of the vote to Howard’s 27 percent. A 46-point loss is not a landslide; it is a furious beatdown. For an incumbent who had been re-elected six times before, it is a humiliating beatdown. This should be a profound alarm to the radical left. The leftstream media can assure us that woke activism is the wave of the future, but the first hard results say otherwise. When the silenced majority finally speaks, it does not just politely rebuke the offenders. Sean Lennon, son of the late John Lennon, sent out a tweet parodying his father’s famous peace ballad, writing, “All we are saying is give looting, rioting and violence a chance.” Lennon has become a rather witty and wry social conservative.

I have been praying for the silenced majority to find its voice. It is one of the primary reasons I have been forming CORAC – the Corps of Renewal and Charity. The longer we wait to say enough is enough, the more pitched and violent the battle is likely to be. I would rather have converts than conquests. But whatever it takes, those of us who believe in faith, family and freedom will not be silenced. We will stand – and pray that the madness passes so we can ascend together into peace and brotherhood under God rather than continue to descend into a deep, dark night of chaos and terror.

    1. Well, despite the 111-degree temperatures, I am told we had just under 200 people out for the Rosary Walk in Sacramento. Everyone I have talked to is totally pumped about what a great event it was – and I am told that people who were not originally at the Capitol for this, when they found out what we were doing, were giving high fives and saying it is about time somebody stood up for our religious liberty. I will have photos, and maybe some video, up Monday.

      1. Not enough to cause government to notice but government ignorant of the multiplier effect in heaven….. and boy does it ever feel good to stand up for your rights and your country. I wonder how many in pre WWII Germany kept telling themselves everything would be ok and went home, closed their door and hoped until the tipping point fell over into chaos. But maybe it would be better if the crowd was so large that it would scare the devil out of the authorities and that fear caused them to be more cautious their policies. I have read several articles that as one patient tests positive for covid19 and multiple tests ensue to eliminate a false positive all those tests of one person are counted in the statistical count of diagnosed Covid cases.

        1. My job takes me in and out of hospitals everyday fixing equipment. What I heard and saw 4 months ago wouldn’t catch up to the general public until now. I had to keep it to my self, mostly as I watched everyone drink the evil juice, including my family. They thought I was nuts, so I watched and listened and prayed. What doesn’t make sense to me is how the church fell right into secular rule. I am a lifelong catholic, cradle catholic and I love being catholic because it is the one true religion on this earth ,giving us access to the true body and blood of our living God. So, here’s my question and I already know the answer. Can ANYTHING on this earth corrupt the consecrated body and blood of our Christ? I cried at church, because I never ever thought I would see what I’m seeing. I said God, this is your house. Please pray for the church and the pope to practice what we preach. Faith, family and freedom. God’s peace and love always.

            Al we were blessed to go to confession on Mary’s Feast Day. The priest told me he gave every person who came to confession the penance to heartily beg God for this(what you wrote above) and all our leaders, all in power, in our nation especially, to wake up, so the madness can end.

            I thought that was very heartening. And also in line with Charlie’s piece. By the grace of God, we squirrelly-squirrels will keep squirelling-on 🙂

          4. Dear Al, it is unclear, at least to me, what you saw and heard 4 months ago in hospitals and only now the public understands. Are you talking the coronavirus and how people were treated or not treated?
            When you stated “the church fell right into secular rule”, do you mean how the Texas cardinals and bishops, except Strickland, signed that document early on in the pandemic that excused hospital for not treating the elderly? In any case, if you want to hear exactly what has happened to the church put in your search bar: Fr Altman Persecution for Speaking the truth. It should come up. I tried typing the you tube address link before putting it here and it didn’t work but if you go through the search bar you should be able to find it. Father is legitimately emotional through the first 10 minutes (27 total) about his seminary but he garners his courage and the rest is startling. He mentions Father Guarnizo’s persecution by McCarrick. Father Guarnizo was in a parish (Saint John Neumann) in Gaithersburg MD and therefore in the Washington DC diocese. I remember the news story in March, 2012. It was my first indication that there was something terribly wrong in our church. Cardinal Wuerl was no better. In any case, bottom line Father Guarnizo, was defending the real presence of the Eucharist, the cardinals did not. Peace and Love to you, too. Note: A choir member sang Immaculate Mary at the end of Mass today and I pulled that darn mask out so I could belt it out too.

            1. Joanne, I typed in “Father Altman persecution for speaking the truth” and found it on complicitclergy.com I have watched his videos before, but this one was, wow! Yes, he was emotional about his time in the seminary, etc. These priests who survive bad seminaries are martyrs! Dear God, please come clean up this evil!

              And I had to hear the name of a 100% pro-abortion, pro-evil VP candidate in a sermon at Mass! Again, Dear God, when will you open eyes?! Sorry, it has really been bothering me, disturbed my spirit, after waiting so long to go to a Mass again yesterday (outdoors to comply) 😥 Okay, back to the signs of hope!

              1. Annie, was the sermon pro K. Harris based? I have a friend @83 now who lived in Sea Isle City NJ. His sister was an IHM nun and he lived and grew up in St Francis de Sales in SW Philadelphia. He was in seminary for awhile but left and became a Catholic school teacher in several schools in the Philadelphia area. DeSales was also my husband’s parish. I’m digressing here. In his retirement parish in Sea Isle a visiting Jesuit gave the sermon on the Miracle of the Loaves & Fishes. He dismissed it as a miracle and was promoting that “it only seemed like the food multiplied because everyone was so entranced by Jesus’s talk”. My friend stood up as the Jesuit sermonized and challenged him and the Jesuits lack of faith. I think of my friend often lately. No shrinking violet he! He didn’t hesitate to challenge apostasy. Another aside DeSales is the parish and school VP Mike Pence visited supporting money for private schools aka federal and state education money following the child. It was right after the State of the Union address. It use to be the residence of the Bishop back in the day when Philly had a Cardinal too. My husband was in the boys’ choir. Angelic voices.

                1. Yes, Joanne. The priest talked about the late “canonized” Lewis, as well as KH comparing them to the woman in the gospel whose daughter was healed. The latter was an outcast and downtrodden too! Insert eye roll here! Give me a break!

                  I have heard those sermons also, saying that the miracle was just sharing the food! God bless your friend. Once in a Q and A session, I challenged a priest who said everything was a sacrament! The Church teaches there are 7!! God help us, please!

                  2. You know Annie the reason that woman’s daughter in the gospel on Sunday was healed was because of the woman’s faith in Jesus’s divinity. She listened, saw and made note of Him. She believed in Him. Jesus even tests her belief (and at the same time taught his disciples about not limiting his kingdom only to Jews). So I don’t get his comparing her to KH. I’m not saying KH could not somehow or someday come to Christ but the comparison is a stretch at this moment in time. Crazy comparison, I’m trying to see it but….No, just way off base.

              3. Hope you see this. I just watched Father Altman’s sermon on the gospel of the woman asking Him to cure her daughter. You should watch it on Complicit Clergy. It’s titled Fill Your Lamps With Oil. It’s an amazing sermon and he preaches on other topics in a truthful way.

      4. Charlie, I just realized that you were 4 years too early on the Processions. I think it was 2016 when we tried to get processions going but just ran out of gas at the time. Now in 2020 the idea of processions seems to be spreading like wildfire.

  5. Praise God for you taking this on Charlie. It gives me so much hope knowing that the “silenced majority” will rise up and do something. Not be trampled underfoot like lambs being led to the slaughter without a word. I will certainly do whatever I can do but I haven’t a clue so I just wait for you to tell us what to do.   11. Here is a sign of hope. A member of the “silenced majority” (great term, Charlie) that I know started a private FB page in late July. He and his wife are young entrepreneurs with a beautiful young family whose thriving business was shut down, unreasonably, because of COVID-19 policies of their governor. Over the years, their FB posts have been about their kids, etc. ~ nothing ever political. Well, the shutdown left them with nothing to do but teach their kids and get red pilled on the internet. 🙂

    Here’s the dad’s description of his private FB page: “This page was made for the [ethnic group] who want to express their conservative views, expose the deep state, and/or show their support for our president without being ridiculed by the mob. Conservative values were built into us; Family, Religion, Hard Work and Respect for our country. We need to educate our youth on the lies that the left has fed us for decades. The Liberal politicians and media are trying to destroy our country and our values and we can’t let them. Please invite your [ethnic group] friends who share our same views.”

    His group already has 399 members, growing by the day. I am very proud of this family. ❤

      3. This is astonishing. Eight hours after my last post, the count is 1,457. People just need a place where they can speak freely, share their insights, and support one another. Apparently the values expressed by the man who started the private page speak to MANY.

            I was invited to join that private page and did. I can tell by the names of the newly joined members that they belong to a particular ethnic group ~ very family oriented, etc. I am not of that ethnicity, but I appreciate their values very much.

            We can be delightfully surprised by those who turn out to be allies.

  12. There was also a similar rosary event at the Mission San Luis Rey near San Diego. Not nearly as big but big enough. I got there a bit late so I stayed to pray. Today was also the anniversary of my moms passing 4 years ago. She was close to mother Mary and said a rosary every day. It was fitting she passed on the feast of the assumption. All in all I felt hopeful at the end of the day….something I haven’t felt for a long time.

  13. Please watch a YouTube video titled “What they don’t want you to see” by a young journalist named Millie Weaver known as Millennial Millie. She is a 29 year old conservative journalist.She was arrested Friday at her home in RavennaOhio ,police officers with a local swat team took her to the Portage county jail where she is currently being held. She was set to release an 82 minute independent documentary titled “ Shadow Gate”. There is also an article on American Thinker about this info. Obamagate is only a small fraction of what is really going on and it is beyond frightening.

    1. Hi Robin . . . I never heard of “millenial millie” until I came across an article this morning after Mass. She was arrested per a “secret grand jury indictment” for burglary according to the arresting officer which is shown on her phone video of the arrest. The documentary has been put on YouTube and still there!

    3. Robin, I watched that entire video yesterday and it is well done…and shows the dangers of technology in the wrong hands for the wrong reasons. She includes substantive evidence for everything, including her interviews with knowledgeable guests who have worked with the technology that is being used. I have made a copy of it. 😉 We need to pray for Millie…and I think fast as well.

    We are in an historic battle, but (not to trivialize our present state) when have we not been? Even when Jesus walked the face of the earth, when His disciples converted millions and the Church became a worldwide beacon of hope, evil and persecution followed like a shadow. Like the teeth of a shark which just rotate in when one is lost, evil has always replaced those lost teeth with new ones to destroy faith. I couldn’t agree more, it is time for “all hands on deck” but for Christian faithful it’s always time for “all hands on deck”. Clearly we haven’t been good and faithful stewards and it’s precisely why we’re in the predicament we’re in. While we were resting on our laurels, rearranging the deck chairs, the Titanic was sinking. There’s a reason they say “rest in peace” at funerals. Those who have died are no longer part of the Church “militant”. As do you, I hope and pray for a great awakening soon but please remind your readers that victory celebrations should be brief and that diligence with persevering prayer and definitive action will always, always, always be a life necessity.

While, too many times, humanity has cycled in and out of keeping the Covenant God made with us, Charlie has good company in understanding that we are facing an historic battle. Then Cardinal Wojtyla visited the US in 1976 and arrived in Philadelphia for the Eucharistic Congress, which ran Aug. 1-8.

      An excerpt from one of many articles which reported on the future saint’s words:
      “Cardinal Wojtyla shared some striking words. The exact provenance of those words remains elusive to scholars, though they were reported in The Wall Street Journal as having been delivered by the future pontiff in his final speech in the United States before his departure. In one particularly dramatic passage, reprinted by the Journal Nov. 9, 1978 (shortly after he became pope), Karol Wojtyla stated:

      ‘We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of the American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel. This confrontation lies within the plans of divine Providence; it is trial which the whole Church, and the Polish Church in particular, must take up. Eucharistic procession with a police escort down State Street in Madison, WI to the Capitol for the Patriotic Rosary and Divine Praises with 2000 faithful in attendance gives hope that faith is alive and active. I believe Fr. Richard Heilman and Fr. James Altman can be seen in the photos with many other priests and Bishop Hying carrying the Lord in procession.

What a beautiful description from the Catholic World Report: MADISON, Wisconsin — The Second Person of the Holy Trinity was given a police escort up riot-scarred State Street to the Wisconsin Capitol building on Saturday, followed in procession by 2,000 Catholics who proclaimed in word and deed that Jesus Christ is the answer and antidote to our troubled times.

        Contemplating His presence IN PERSON using those words leaves me in awe. I can say nothing more.

        2. On the Feast of the Assumption 100’s of people gathered at the State Capitol in St Paul, MN
          to say 15 decades of the Rosary. It was wonderful to be a part of the peaceful gathering of so many
          families united in prayer. It was very well organized and “Our Mother” provided a sunny day and a great parking space! I would like to “thank” JAC who mentioned this event that was being planned in the comments, otherwise I would not have had such a glorious day! God Bless!

  18. I feel a bit ashamed of my last post about medical errors. In retrospect I felt like it was an attack on those good doctors, nurses and techs in the medical community. I was only trying to put into perspective annual death counts from sources other than Covid 19. The media today zeros in on every Covid case and death as an excuse to destroy our freedoms and economy. If I choose not to muzzle my face then I’m a murderer not worthy of medical attention myself. Yet we are faced with far greater risks each and every day just by being alive. So to those folks whose life’s work and labor is medicine, I apologize and thank you.

Eventually not being able to trade without the proper vaccine papers/etc.

    I prayed the Assumption Rosary yesterday for Protection, Healing, and a radical transformation of our country”:. I also started the 54 Day Rosary to “Beg the Lord for the intention of Peace and Blessings around the November election”. The Psalm seemed to fit right in with both of these petitions.

  25. Looking forward to pictures, Charlie. I felt hopeful reading about it. There was also a sign of hope as I found a couple of things on the ‘net today. One was an interview on Fox and then I went to the website of “Walkaway campaign”. A former liberal Democrat started this movement and people are responding, to walk away from the party of evil; they are waking up to the lies. There are marches around the country and they had many, many people even in Beverly Hills! The founder, Brandon Straka, apologizes for voting for H. Clinton in ’16 and will vote for Trump. He talks about people being so bullied that they won’t admit in polls that they support Trump. It’s worth looking at the website and will give you hope. He echoes you, Charlie, silent no more!

    Also hopeful was the Eucharistic procession in WI; it made me cry with love for Jesus. That’s what our Church was like when I was a child.

    So yes, Charlie, there are signs that the silent majority will be silent no more!!!! Praise God, let it grow!

Dividing people using the black race, chaos, etc. “The building of socialism IS the Communist Revolution in America.” “…moving the country gradually toward Communism w/out the people even being aware of it.” There you go, the results of the “dumbing down” by our schools, now that young people prefer socialism (recent survey); get something for nothing. Some of us are old enough to have heard these warnings long ago, in the old days 🙂 when we were taught the evils of Communism. (The frog in the cold water worked.)

      Maybe some can be awakened if they find out that they have been used, such as the black man who was recruited and then wrote a book after leaving the Com. party. Knowledge is power. We’ll keep on trying! We know who wins!!

Take “Star Trek” for example, the left behave just like the “Borg” who repeat “assimilate resistance is futile!” the collective is more powerful than any idividuals or other groups. It’s this type of branwashing that’s opened the doors towards most of the evils we face: pride, arrogance, vanity, lust,
    greed, sloth, etc… –> abortion, sexual immorality, impure living & attitudes, self-entitlement that robs & violates the meek & just.

    I look back to the yesteryears of decades past, and can see the immoral seeds planted have become the many large viscous weeds we face today.

He has no right to order anyone to stop saying “all lives matter” or to stop talking about “color blindness”: Was Dr. Martin Luther King exercising “white privilege” and holding to “white male norms” when he hoped that people would someday be judged not “by the color of their skin but by the content of their character”?
