Cherishing the Light of Rescue

The Dawn of a New Beginning

Passages from the piece “I Proclaim the Rescue” – first published on April 1, 2016

By Charlie Johnston

(Here’s the third in the triad of pieces which I find heartening as well as helpful for refocusing amidst chaos. Charlie’s writing amazes me in how it penetrates the heart and mind even more today than when it was first published. ~Beckita)

(text edited out) I occasionally hear from people who are critical that I am frightening people with my predictions of a Storm. That is absurd. I am not predicting a Storm. Twenty years ago I was predicting a Storm. Now we are in it. I responded to the friend who sent me this ( edit: “this” refers to an email) in part like this:

When bombs are bursting all around, noting that bombs are bursting is NOT working anyone into a frenzy. I did not create the Paris, San Bernardino, Belgium or Pakistani atrocities…I did not create ISIS…I did not create the global financial crisis…I did not encourage China to militarize international waters. I did not encourage North Korea to shoot off missiles and threaten the world with nukes. This is just silly…this comment speaks as if people did not read me they would not notice that anything was wrong at all. For crying out loud, people are getting into a frenzy because they watch the STINKING news – which I have nothing to do with.

For decades I said nothing about the Storm to any but my Priests and a few friends I trust, knowing that to speak of such a thing when it was not obvious COULD be scary to many. When the contours of the Storm that I had described privately became publicly obvious to anyone paying attention, I DID come forward – to proclaim a Rescue and to encourage people to be part of it now, to assure them that God is NOT done with us.

Seriously, does anyone think that if I would just shut up ISIS would go away, China would retreat to her own borders, officials would be responsible with the economy, North Korea and Iran would dismantle their nukes and all would suddenly be sweetness and light? Absurd. If I shut up and went away these things would still be deepening – and who would be there to give credible hope that God has a plan and is not done with us?

I have to tell you I am a little weary of people acting as if I summoned the Storm I accurately described decades ago. Rather, I waited, hoping it was not true…and when it came proclaimed a Rescue – that this is God’s purification. (text edited out) If I shut up, the Storm remains and who is there to give credible hope of Rescue?”

(text edited out) The prediction of the Storm I was making over two decades ago is not the heart of my purpose. In fact, its main importance is that the consistency and accuracy of it lends credibility to my assurance that God is not done with us and this is lead-up to a Rescue. (text edited out)

I have been gratified at how well regular readers have embraced the fundamental heart of my message to acknowledge God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope. Drive-by readers still come up with some lurid mutations of what I emphasize, though. So I am going to do a candid review of some things that are absolutely critical.

Do you know why I don’t discourage people from doing some small, prudent preparation? It is not because of the objective protection those preparations will give them. Rather, it is for the same reason that I would not snatch a teddy bear away from a frightened child. It soothes people, so I leave it alone.

I am a serious student of history. We live in an age where the elite leadership throughout the world – in politics and cultural institutions – is almost universally stupid, incompetent, irresponsible, feckless – and supremely convinced of their own superiority. It is unprecedented in its scope. Plenty of nations have been governed by self-absorbed, bumbling idiots – but to have almost the whole world governed by such at the same time is astonishing. Yet that is how it is. The first stanza of W.B. Yeats poem of a century ago, “The Second Coming,” is downright prophetic for these times:

“Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.”

I have said repeatedly that the rules have been changed – and it will soon be obvious. Everyone who gets their primary sense of security from anything other than God will have it taken from them. Everyone. This is not just for some, but for all. If you use anything I have said to devise your own plan beyond acknowledging God, taking the next right step and being a sign of hope, your plan will be smashed against the rocks of reality. The only way you can have anything is if you have it as if having not – and if you can do that, then you can have not as if you have. Whatever “preparations” you do can only be in support of the central issue – to acknowledge God, take the next right step and be a sign of hope. If you are focused on the central issue, then you know that whether you have or have not is God’s call and will be used to help you carry out His will.

Some think they are smart and so, if they know enough, can outwit God. If you are the smartest person in the history of the world, your knowledge does not amount to the babblings of a three-month old in eternity. Others trust to their wealth and means to evade God. In these times, wealth and means are not as reliable as Monopoly money. “Give us this day our daily bread” must be your humble cry to the Lord for all the good your wealth will do you. Others think their power and prestige will exempt them. The graveyards are full of the bones of the formerly powerful and prestigious. Betting on your own power and prestige in these times is like betting on a gnat to beat a lion. Others are so certain of their own moral rectitude that they think God will exempt them from the vicissitudes of the Storm. God is going to show all of these what fragile clay their feet are formed of.

We have gotten to a point where self-actualization trumps everything. Vanity reigns supreme. Even many clerics plot and scheme over how to manipulate those around them and crawl over the backs of their peers to gain position or prestige. It is the masque of the red death, a frenzied dance of despair for a culture that believes life has no meaning except for the indulging of appetites and the gaining of notoriety. It is the logical end of materialism. Marx finally got his way and we are buried under a bitter harvest of quiet desperation at the emptiness of it all. Yet people try all the more frantically to get the better of their fellows and colleagues.

(text edited out) “What you desire most is most effective against you. Desire God and all shall be added.” That is worth deep contemplation in these times.

I warn you not to put your hopes in traditional politics. It is collapsing around our very eyes. I know that is the way we have always moved on. Not this time. If you are riding a bus and it pulls over to the side of the road because it has caught fire, the engine has dropped out and the wheels have fallen off, getting a new driver will not help with the problem. Right now, getting passionate about politics can only tempt you to sin against charity. Our problem is spiritual and cultural. It is not in our stars, but in ourselves. Salvation will not come via a heroic figure from without, but by the quiet resolve to follow God by loving our neighbor from within.

When I speak of the rules changing, I mean that God is doing a new thing, something amazing. It is a great blessing or a great curse, depending on your interior disposition. Whatever you sincerely do or hope for another will return to you twofold. If you sincerely hope for the good of another, if you do some simple kindness for them, it will return to you twofold. If you try to attack them with malice, to undermine them with bitterness, or manipulate them to your advantage, it is yourself that you are savaging. The only way forward in these times is to deny yourself and devote yourself to the good of others. It is a primary way in which you express your love for God. That does not mean you must become a wimp. When France’s King Charles VII started dithering over peace negotiations with the English, St. Joan of Arc testily told him the only peace they would obtain from the English would be at the point of a lance. If you fail to defend those who are under attack, again, you shall reap what you have sown twofold.

I have said repeatedly over the last year and a half that everyone will be sifted. So it has been coming to pass. I have heard from more than a few who thought they would be a safe haven throughout that are undergoing severe trials and turmoil. Don’t you know that God has little use for sunshine soldiers in these times? If you have not proven yourself when the smell of burnt sulpher fills the air to the accompanying boom of cannons, how can you know you will not lose heart in the Storm? So be glad of the trials and trust in God. He is not proving you to Himself, but to yourself, so you may walk with confident trust in Him as the din grows – and thus be a steely sign of hope to those around you.

I have been thankful to meet so many people who have put some of their means into preparing places where those who might be displaced or homeless may come to find shelter and work. Generosity directed towards others never goes unrewarded, though it does not exempt anyone from the vicissitudes of the Storm. Most people will stay where they are for the duration of the Storm, but some will not. It is good to prepare to live in community helping each other.

Yet I have also heard some who claim that refuges are being set aside where all the good little boys and girls will go to sit out the Storm. That will not happen. The Storm comes to all. As it is written, God sends the rain to fall on the just and the unjust alike (Matthew 5:45). If you are truly among the just, even in the midst of your trials, you will help others caught in the Storm. That is your portion, not to sit and be served by angels while everyone else suffers.

A great dividing line has risen and everyone must choose where they stand. On Easter we celebrated the Resurrection of Christ. You must take hold of His robe to rise with Him or sink into the dust of the chaos we have made of our culture. You are called to be among the rising cohort that prepares the way for the great Rescue Our Lord is sending Our Lady to accomplish, but so long as you remain caught in your vanity, ambition and dreams of self-actualization, you just add to the chaos of our toxic culture.

I ask you again not to over-anticipate things based on novels you have read or movies you have seen. Frankly, I think there will be a lot less violence than some imagine and a whole lot more confusion and chaos than most any can imagine, at least in the early stages. Remember that God has a plan, a plan for your welfare and not your destruction. He will wipe out the vanity of all. So long as you pray like the Pharisee, thanking God that you are not like other men, you shall sink ever deeper into the mire. When you have the humility to pray as the tax collector, crying “God, be merciful to me a sinner,” you will become a useful instrument in the Hands of the Master. (Luke 18:9-14)

The confusion of the present age influences all. Do not be shaken if you hear something peculiar from a Prince of the Church. The rain falls on them, too. Remember that Our Lord said the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church He founded. Work, then, with your Priests and Bishops to mount the assault against those gates, building each other up and covering each other’s nakedness. Now is not the time for retreat, but to sound the charge. May every street in the world become the sacred route of a Procession of believers behind Our Lord in the Eucharist and Our Lady, who is sent to Rescue us! As even the most secular and cynical lose hope in a world visibly spiraling into collapse, let them see the community of believers walking with confident faith in our two Pillars. Many will convert and begin to participate in the Rescue because of this. But first, you must deny yourself and take up your cross – see yourself for how little you are…and then you can begin to see yourself for how much you are, what you are truly called to be: Our Lord’s own beloved.

(text edited out) I think in the course of this past Lenten season I got a little better understanding of it. You must choose God through love of your fellows or perish under the weight of your own machinations.

I come not to proclaim a Storm. We are living the Storm – and near the entrance to the fullness of it. I come to proclaim a Rescue – and to call you to participate in it, to prepare the way. Choose or perish. I have told you true.

(Postscript by CJ on July 10, 2020: I am very grateful to Beckita for finding and re-publishing these pieces. I am inundated these days by people offering frantic messages on what will happen next, how it will come, and how to protect ourselves. I got some important details wrong on how it would ensue. The overall sweep, however, has been on target. The “global civil war fought on cultural lines” I spoke of consistently decades ago is upon us. I also spoke consistently that this would be God’s call to us to stand with Him – to do the little we could, right in front of us, trusting Him to make up for our many deficiencies. Some have acted, of late, as if I am saying something new when I insist on that approach. I have said the same thing since I started, but people are finally hearing the things that I tried hardest to emphasize all along – and it is not new. God will not reward you for your belief by exempting you from trial: He is testing you that you may show you really will stand with and trust Him in whatever trials may come. By your actions, you will see both where you are weak and where you are strong. This is not the time for more prophecy. The battle is on and it is the time for action. The action you are called to is to acknowledge God in everything you do; take the next right step as best you can, taking full responsibility for it and trusting God to correct what will be your many errors; and be a sign of hope to those around you. It is what I emphasized then and what I emphasize now. God is close at hand to each of us. – CJ)

  1. Thanks for your kindness, Charlie. Whenever I review read your old pieces, I continue to find both heartwarming and heartening how you’re like three major influences of counsel in ONE. You’re Papa Bear who reminds us of our identity as children of the Living God while you write words which remind us of how we can do all things in Him who strengthens us. Then again, you’re Uncle Charlie, a faithful friend with whom to walk in solidarity as we stand for faith, family and country. You’re also our Mother Hen, leading us, advocating for us, guiding us and comforting us with truth, hope and love. SO grateful.

    1. Beckita, Please add my appreciation too for posting this, which I had not seen before. At 82, I am entitled to believe I have achieved a reasonable perspective on this world by my experience in it.
I think Charlie, however, is masterful with his penetrating analysis of the times and politicians, and I love his style, e.g.,

” I am a serious student of history. ” That’s how it looks to me too, but Charlie describes it so beautifully well.

This blog also offers interesting thoughts consistent with Buddhism as Charlie writes about having is best when not having, and in this aphorism, “What you desire most is most effective against you,” although the atheist behaviorist BF Skinner also made this point as a way of training folks by using rewards.

  2. Thank you, Beckita, for re-posting this. It’s so on point and today it’s so heightened. I am dumb founded by how many good faithful people I know are doing their best Baghdad Bob impersonation…“it’s all fine, all is well, there’s no problem…”

    Good gravy

Very thankful for you and all our fellow faithful ready to stand up and, led by God, confront and confound the evil that is running amok.

“If God is with us, who can be against us” or something like that… Trust, Do, Love

  5. It is interesting to read in this older post how some of the worrying events in the world at that time are hardly even mentioned now!
Seems prophecy of events come and go, some fulfilled as written, some not and some forgotten either by expiation through prayer or by some error of interpretation on the part of the visionary. God’s word never returns void but what that looks like can be quite different to us on this side of the veil.
Charlie’s ideas on practical living in these times are the whole reason God speaks to His people in the first place. Even Jesus, Mary and Joseph lived as practical people- about as home spun as you can get. His message is how to have a sence of proportion is a senseless world. The enemy sows confusion. That is his nature.
Trying to get back to basics again requires us to remind the world what IS basic and how sweet it is.
It is comforting to know God has got this: “but take heart, for I have overcome the world”(John 16:33).

    1. PHILLIP FRANK . . . These words of Jesus from John the Evangelist are most important for me because I often (daily) begin to feel disheartened about things personal and all that is happening in this world. I heard this verse from one of the awesome apologists on Catholic Answers Live just yesterday, and I cannot hear it or think it too much.

My knowledge of God’s victory through the death and resurrection of Jesus and His perfect love and protection is a constant salve for my soul.

And I love that you posted this little reminder for us!!!

  6. Action Item Suggestion:

Here’s something positive (and tasty) we can do: For those prudently stocking up on items for their food pantry, may I suggest that we buy Goya products to support Bob Unanue, the CEO of Goya who continues to support President Trump in the face of fierce criticism.

I did my modest part by buying a bag of Goya green split peas. Recently I bought some of their refried beans, which the stores have a tendency to run out of in my neck of the woods.

Goya has many more fun, flavorful, and fancy products for you to enjoy. (I have dietary restrictions so my plan is to stick to the simpler stuff as far as canned goods and dried foods.)

Even better, I’ve been reading about people who instead of stocking up just for themselves, are buying lots of Goya items and donating them to other people, for example, their employees or their local food pantries.

So be a hero … Eat your peas! 🙂

      1. Hi Linda,

Goya foods are pretty easy to find in your local grocery store, for instance, Giant Eagle. You can try the Mexican foods aisle, the aisle where they sell refried beans.

My 16 oz package of GOYA Green Split Peas in a plastic bag also says “Arvejas Partidas Verdes” on it in Spanish. I also just bought a 16 oz package of GOYA Blackeye Peas which also says “Frijol Carita” in Apanish.

As for how long they’re good for, the Best By date stamped (in small black letters) on the package indicates 08/02/23 for my package of split peas and 03/25/23 for the blackeye peas.

Here’s a link to the Goya website where you can see what the Beans and Grains products look like in their packages:

        https://www.goya.com/en/products/beans-and-other-grains

        Bon appetit!

        1. Dried peas and beans and rice can last 25-30 YEARS if no bugs get in them. First freeze them several weeks, then put them in seal-a-meal bags or glass jars to keep them safe from bugs. Like secrets, they are best kept in the dark. If in jars, they are easily shared if need be.

  8. I so need prayer for medical problems. I would appreciate it very much. I was in the hospital, in February, with something serious, and then after hospital, possibly had Corona from my roommate in the hospital. It was so “early in the game,” that medical staff I believe were not even recognizing Corona. And then, felt that I may have had residual symptoms from the Corona at home. My doctor is testing me for Corona antibodies, now. I feel like I have been through the mill. But Jesus has been there, throughout. And even with the “scariness” of this world right, now, I feel God’s love, comfort, and reassurance. It is true- “nothing can separate us from the love of God.” Thank you for your prayers. Stay well. God bless you all.

    1. Yes, Linda, those are such important words that you quote at the end of your comment! I always need to be reminded. However, one of those things I desire most is the salvation of my family, so I’m sure the Lord would not mean that kind of desire would be used against me.

Charlie and Beckita, this line is amazing – “Plenty of nations have been governed by self-absorbed, bumbling idiots, but to have almost the whole world governed by such at the same time is astonishing.” Those of us who have lived many decades have the perspective to appreciate that statement!

      1. You surely do have that perspective, Annie. And you’re right… actually, God wants the salvation of our families even more than do we! It’s a petition for which we are certain to be praying in His perfect will.

Yes!!! “One of those things I desire most is the salvation of my family, so I’m sure the Lord would not mean that kind of desire would be used against me.” Spot on there Annie W!!!!

I believe I too have this thought and prayer over and over all day long!!! I fear for our kids because of our own bumbling mistakes and then our kids bumbling mistakes and then I remember King David!!! I just love that King David was “a man after God’s own heart,” not for the terrible mistakes he had made and repented of, but because King David got right back up again after excepting Gods punishment and mercy!!!

That is a true story of hope for all of us in this poor bleeding world!😁

  10. Charlie, what is your opinion about illegal immigration? I have to admit that it concerns me, and at times, it makes me very angry. Don’t we have the right to preserve our country, with its culture, heritage and language? Who are the people who settled this land and built this country? In my opinion, illegal immigration is a great evil and is one of the devil’s weapons in his attempt to destroy our country, yet God is allowing this. I find this very difficult to understand.

    Liked by 3 people

      1. Beckita, I just read this article, and with all due respect, while I think it’s well-meaning, I also think it’s very naïve. Because of massive illegal immigration, and if nothing is done to change this, the ancestors of the people who built the USA are going to become a minority. If you’re not concern about the white children being born today, and how their patrimony is being taken from them, and how they are already being demonized in academia and media you’re not living in reality. I have found that when Hispanics congregate in large numbers they do not assimilate. To the contrary, they want you to bend to them. I live on Long Island, New York and I recently visited a town that I lived in just 15 years ago and I couldn’t recognize it. When I take one of the local buses most of the times I’m the only English speaking person on it and I’m supposed to accept this? In addition, we had a terrible crime committed near my neighborhood that in order to be initiated into a Hispanic gang they had to kill a white man. This poor man got off the railroad and on his way home was repeatedly stabbed with a knife and shot several times with a gun and died on the front steps of his house. Later at trial none of these punks showed any remorse. As an American citizen I feel utterly betrayed and constantly struggle with feelings of deep resentment towards these criminal invaders. We are being grossly taken advantage of with our compassion and empathy being twisted against us. Unless there is some form of Divine Intervention, our grandchildren and great-grandchildren are going to pay a terrible price.

        1. Oh yes, Jean Marie, the dangers of massive illegal immigration are real… as is the ugliness you describe. And a look at Joe Biden’s presidential candidacy website with his vision on how he’ll turn back Trump’s work and policies for getting a grip on reversing the state of the country in regards to immigration should cause us to shudder. How important it is to re-elect our current president. And, now, with the ugliness of the Marxists rampaging on the streets, taking a hike on the BLM agenda, there’s a slew of additional problems emerging. The book market has been inundated with new titles. One site listed 17 new books “every white person needs to read” and they include the insane theme that our very whiteness hurts others There are ridiculous ideas for how white people can make amends, that mostly demean themselves, for the color with which they were born.

That said, when I read Charlie’s Christian approach to Immigration, I immediately saw how deeply he had pondered this problem. We must have a sane and sound way of moving forward. Without a strong foundation upon which to correct all the current wrongs in regards to immigration – and the entire culture – we run the risk of becoming a mirror of the left. In anger and resentment, anyone – left, right or in-between – is capable of violent, oppressive acts. We cannot go there. Ours is the Way of Christ. This Storm comes to every man, woman and child, no matter the color of each one’s skin. ALL will be brought to their knees, figuratively if not literally, and when we repent and rise to embrace the Ways of the Living God, we’ll need such documents as what Charlie prepared about Immigration.

I’m not sure how long you’ve read Charlie’s writing, here at ASOH or back at TNRS, or what, if any, private revelation you’ve read. All these sources give us the message there WILL be Divine Intervention. We humans, alone, are not capable of correcting this mess we’ve concocted. But then, one purpose of this Storm is to burn the vanities and pretentiousness out of each of us so we freely acknowledge that every single iota of good we do is because of God and His Grace. We will ALL suffer and I think it’s actually beautiful to suffer for something good.

Closing now with the strength expressed in Charlie’s ending to the Immigration piece:

There could be several amendments to this policy that would still maintain the fundamental principles. But however we go forward, if we want a rational policy that has a chance at actually working, we must adhere to the first things of:

Our hierarchy of duties to our neighbors
Never enact in law what can better be handled by healthy voluntary mediating agencies
Insist on a critical intersection between rights and duties
Always keep foremost in mind the dignity of the human person, designing policy to enhance and enable that, rather than diminish it.
If someone wants to become a citizen, they must commit to our principles. Anything else merely facilitates the importation of the very dysfunction they are fleeing.

The current system treats people like livestock. It is an animal husbandry program masquerading as compassion, primarily for the benefit of exploiters. Legal immigration has made our country stronger. Returning to first principles will renew its benefits without drowning us all in dysfunction.

          1. Thank you, Beckita, for your response. I’m a 63 year old single woman making plans for retirement and watching the community I was planning on living in for the rest of my years being destroyed. We did everything a good citizen is supposed to do: we went to work, we paid our taxes, we raised our families, we trusted the people we elected to office and we trusted the Church. And what have we been given back? I just returned from Confession and unloaded all of my fear, anxiety, anger, resentment before the Lord. I hope I can hold it together, stay at peace and not have to return next Saturday!

President Trump must be reelected and I think Our Lady is trying to convert him to the Catholic Church and make him a present day Constantine. She is our Mother and our Patroness, but this is going to be one heck of a ride! I pray Our Queen’s triumph comes soon.

            Liked by 8 people

            1. It surely is one heck of a ride, Jean Marie. I think we all will lose a lot materially speaking. Not saying you have at all, just thinking aloud of those who actually have placed their security in mammon of any kind. This passage from above rings true… even for those who profess and live the faith: “What you desire most is most effective against you. Desire God and all shall be added.” Charlie wisely exhorts us to contemplate these sobering words. Life is going to dramatically change for one and all. No one will be exempt. Yet, remember how often Charlie has also invited us to contemplate Job? Look how his fate changed after he pressed on through his suffering trials. Maybe, just maybe, our current plans for life which are being stripped from us are actually bread and water compared to the milk and honey God has in store for us as we make this contemporary Exodus into our modern day Promised Land. I DO know He only acts from Pure Love so, come what may, as we reach out to love those around us, that period of peace promised by Our Lady is going to be phenomenal beyond our understanding.

I’m deeply touched by your confession. May each of us strive to reject any bitter seeds from being rooted in our hearts, so that, in God’s Mercy, we’re free to be His instruments in these times. There’s great joy in anticipating the rebirthing of culture and Church. Great, great Hope lies in the promise of a new beginning. And Abba is our God Who loves to provide for His children. We don’t know exactly what that will look like, but we do know He’s true to His Word. So grateful we’re making this transition together, Jean Marie, with the fellow travelers in this community. ♥️🙏🔥

After my kids were born in the hospital, we were given soft-sided bottles with a spout top to use for perineal hygiene. It’s kinda like a portable bidet. Anyways they sell these on ebay and elsewhere for very little. I got some when tp was in shortage. I figured it couldn’t hurt! HTH 🙂

        2. Jean Marie you might be interested in the analysis of an Indian gentleman by the name of Jayant Bhahdari. He was born in India and trained as an engineer. He emigrated to England and ultimately wound up in Canada — Vancouver I believe. Today he travels around the world looking for investment opportunities.

He has a youtube up under the name Jayant Bahndari “Critical Thinking is the Cornerstone of Freedom”. I recommend it for people trying to understand what is happening in America today. He has spent a lot of time in China and the third world and he describes a CULTURE of irrationality. The third world thinks differently. It thinks irrationally.

He literally fled to the West. By West he means the Anglo Saxon world together with several far Eastern nations like Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. He maintains the world is separated into the WEST and THE REST.

Teaser: He asks the question What would happen to Germany if you took 1 million Indians and put them down in Frankfurt? What would happen to India if you took 1 million Germans and put them down in the middle of India? Culture would prevail.

The culture of THE REST is irrational and the culture of THE WEST is rational.

What Bahndari is warning America is that our culture is rapidly becoming IRRATIONAL. Our youth is increasingly unable to do critical thinking. The consequences are horrendous. As America becomes more and more irrational incapable of determining or understanding truth. They can’t see it or understand it.

I believe what Bahndari describes is what is happening to your home town on Long Island. Increasing irrationality as it becomes more third world by the day.

  11. Charlie said years back that overall most of his prophecy was accurate the biggest failure being
his anticipated time schedules …. yep , he was right … i would ask him to reconsider sharing
any more recent intuitions/messages in the light of the building anxiety of anticipation of lawlessness and breakdown personal and societal…. calming words are crucial just now …. i cannot think that the messengers who communicated with him since childhood and ordered him to share, simply vanished when his time frame reference apparently failed to materialise causing much embarrassment…. thanks Charlie + Beckita

    1. I agree with your opening, BJ, and I understand the desire to read/hear more about Charlie’s mystical insights and information. I think it’s a common thing. However, several thoughts come to mind.

#1 When Archbishop Aquila conducted the investigation into Charlie’s experiences, the Archbishop cautioned us all: After reviewing the commission’s findings and in keeping with his pastoral office, Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila of Denver has decided to strongly advise the faithful to exercise prudence and caution in regards to Mr. Charlie Johnston’s alleged divine visions and messages. As has been demonstrated with other alleged apparitions, the danger exists of people placing greater faith in a prediction than in Christ’s words and promises.

For these reasons, Mr. Johnston will also not be approved as a speaker in the Archdiocese of Denver.

For those who are disappointed by this finding, the archdiocese encourages them to seek their security in Jesus Christ, the sacraments, and the Scriptures. The faithful should also remember Christ’s words: “But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mt. 24:36).

#2 As we have reread this triad of pieces from TNRS, one overarching theme has been to let go of prophetic details. We’re in the rapids NOW. Our greatest need is to surrender to God and His Plan with total trust while being ready to take every next right step to which He nudges us. From Charlie’s post, What the Next Right Step Really Means: If you look to God first and just take the next step in front of you, He will flourish it, even if it is the wrong step. If you make the perfect plan, perfectly informed by the best, fully approved prophecies, you will fall into a pit. All of your plans will blow up in your face. Yet every step you take after acknowledging God – WITH EACH STEP – will flourish. This is a subtlety that many, probably most, deceive themselves on. If you humbly ask God to help you be what He calls you to, He will bless your efforts. If you, instead, dedicate yourself to helping God rescue the world, you will founder. God does not need you to accomplish His will; you need Him to remain in His grace. If you keep that straight, He can use you as a profitable tool. If not, you are useless to Him, however scholarly, pious, or orthodox you think yourself to be. The sooner you get that, the closer we all are to rescue. THIS is the work which we are about, BJ.

#3. In this very post, Charlie writes clearly:
This is not the time for more prophecy. The battle is on and it is the time for action. The action you are called to is to acknowledge God in everything you do; take the next right step as best you can, taking full responsibility for it and trusting God to correct what will be your many errors; and be a sign of hope to those around you. It is what I emphasized then and what I emphasize now. God is close at hand to each of us.

      God bless, BJ.

  13. Blessed feast of St. Benedict~
I am also heartened by this redux and by all who are praying. I am praying for each of you and for all of us. It is so hard for me to be on the sidelines…but maybe I am not. My Dear Husband, Steve says we are on the frontlines when we are praying at mass.
Today we will go our for our rosary walk: I carry my rosary and pray in my neighborhood. Last week I carried blessed & exorcized salt with me and tossed a few grains at each house we passed. It seems like so little but at this time it’s the best I can do.
Those of you interested, you can tune into Mount Angel Monastery and Seminary on YouTube for the virtual St. Benedict Festival which begins just before 3pm, PDT. We usually work this festival, but due to the current restrictions it will be celebrated virtually.
Continuing to pray for all here, for healings and for the fear, depression and, my goodness, patience while waiting for our marching orders… so far our Dear Lord has said to to me, “Wait and pray.”
On a different subject – is any one else having a beautiful summer of flowers? Everywhere we look here in Oregon this year-beautiful flowers 🌺 everywhere! God is near. His Truth, Goodness and
    Beauty is everywhere.
God bless us all as we discover our role in the Rescue.
    Ongoing love and prayers,
    Katey in Oregon 🙏🏼✝️💙📿💕🎶

          1. RITE FROM THE ROMAN RITUAL

(Priest vests in surplice and purple stole)

P: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R: Who made heaven and earth.

Exorcism and Blessing of Salt (necessary for Exorcism of Water)

P: O salt, creature of God, I exorcise you by the living (+) God, by the true (+) God, by the holy (+) God, by the God who ordered you to be poured into the water by Elisha the prophet, so that its life-giving powers might be restored. I exorcise you so that you may become a means of salvation for believers, that you may bring health of soul and body to all who make use of you, and that you may put to flight and drive away from the places where you are sprinkled; every apparition, villainy, turn of devilish deceit, and every unclean spirit; adjured by him who will come to judge the living and the dead and the world by fire.

            R: Amen.

P: Let us pray. Almighty and everlasting God, we humbly implore you, in your immeasurable kindness and love, to bless (+) this salt which you created and gave to the use of mankind, so that it may become a source of health for the minds and bodies of all who make use of it. May it rid whatever it touches or sprinkles of all uncleanness, and protect it from every assault of evil spirits. Through Christ our Lord.

            R: Amen.

            Exorcism and Blessing of Water

P: O water, creature of God, I exorcise you in the name of God the Father (+) Almighty, and in the name of Jesus (+) Christ His Son, our Lord, and in the power of the Holy (+) Spirit. I exorcise you so that you may put to flight all the power of the enemy, and be able to root out and supplant that enemy with his apostate angels, through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will come to judge the living and the dead and the world by fire.

            R: Amen.

P: Let us pray. O God, for the salvation of mankind, you built your greatest mysteries on this substance, water. In your kindness, hear our prayers and pour down the power of your blessing (+) into this element, made ready for many kinds of purifications. May this, your creature, become an agent of divine grace in the service of your mysteries, to drive away evil spirits and dispel sickness, so that everything in the homes and other buildings of the faithful that is sprinkled with this water, may be rid of all uncleanness and freed from every harm. Let no breath of infection and no disease-bearing air remain in these places. May the wiles of the lurking enemy prove of no avail. Let whatever might menace the safety and peace of those who live here be put to flight by the sprinkling of this water, so that the health obtained by calling upon your holy name, may be made secure against all attack. Through Christ our Lord.

            R: Amen.

(Priest pours exorcised salt into the water, in the form of a cross)

P: May a mixture of salt and water now be made, in the name of the Father, and of the (+) Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

            R: Amen.

P: The Lord be with you.
            R: And with your spirit.

P: Let us pray. O God, Creator unconquerable, invincible King, Victor ever-glorious, you hold in check the forces bent on dominating us. You overcome the cruelty of the raging enemy, and in your power you beat down the wicked foe. Humbly and fearfully do we pray to you, O Lord, and we ask you to look with favor on this salt and water which you created. Shine on it with the light of your kindness. Sanctify it by the dew of your love, so that, through the invocation of your holy name, wherever this water and salt is sprinkled, it may turn aside every attack of the unclean spirit, and dispel the terrors of the poisonous serpent. And wherever we may be, make the Holy Spirit present to us, who now implore your mercy. Through Christ our Lord.

            R: Amen.

              2. I have a spray bottle of Holy Water that I use each morning in my kitchen too. I first give three sprays. First for Holy Souls in Purgatory, for the Conversion of Sinners, and that our Shepherds will gather their flock and together return to the vows of their Sacraments with sincere and contrite hearts. Then I spray myself head to toe asking Our Lord, with this Holy Water and your Precious Blood, wash away my sins this day, followed by an Act of Contrition.

Also, Benedictine priests have that charism. If you have a monastery or abbey near you they can certainly bless both water and salt for you.

    2. Katey,
It is so little but who can imagine the mustard seed parable as being simple and little? (Matt 17:20).
God cannot be outdone so where sin abounds, grace abounds further. So with so much sin around right now you know that grace is much more abundant in this time!
If a little bit of faith- the size of a mustard seed, can transplant a tree into the sea, how much more can a sacramental do for your neighborhood? If we begin to think it is OUR power of prayer, penance and faith that is accomplishing these things, we miss the point of the parable. We only cooperate with God’s power by our actions and the less we interfere with it by our doubt, pride and disobedience, the more His power comes through.
So be humble that your littlesness is so big with God’s power and keep on keepin on!

“The priest, now identified as Father John Killackey, was stuck in a line of cars along the highway after six vehicles were involved in a crash on Interstate 81 South in East Hanover Township in Lebanon, Pennsylvania on July 8, 2020.
Traffic apparently had come to a stop due to heavy rain. One car, not noticing the stand-still traffic, ran into the stream of cars and the driver was seriously injured. Father Killackey went to work, walking between the cars and semi-trucks, offering help to those suffering. Father Killackey was able to administer last rites to one person, just before the driver died.
A native of Wayne, N.J., he just celebrated his first-year anniversary of entering the priesthood. Serving as assistant priest at the Mater Dei Community in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he is a member of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter.” (ncregister)

If we had to look forward to the same old, same old after He wins this war, I do not know if I would care. After the country won the world wars, we were put back on the same old path and look where that has got us.

  18. Another explanation:
    https://spectator.org/four-stages-of-marxist-takeover-the-accuracy-of-yuri-bezmenov/
…”But Reagan also warned that freedom is a fragile thing, and that it’s never more than one generation from extinction. That warning expired when Reagan did, as Americans grew far too complacent after the USSR fell apart and forgot what communism means.”
…Back to Bezmenov, who warned us in 1984 that a free society collapses in four stages, and the first is demoralization. What he meant by demoralization is a process by which students in schools controlled by disciples of leftist thought would be indoctrinated into a set of values and beliefs foreign to those of the American tradition. Bezmenov said, in 1984, mind you, that this would happen when the 1960s and 1970s student radicals began to control the educational institutions, and their project would be to throw out traditional Judeo-Christian morality, classical education, and American patriotism. Is there any doubt this has happened? Our young people are the least patriotic in our nation’s history, and the most ignorant of the cultural, intellectual, and ideological patrimony of which they are heirs.

It’s even worse than that, because the cultural Marxist project not just in our schools but in our media and entertainment institutions …

The first goal of revolutionary propaganda, particularly the Marxist variety, is to demoralize. It’s to depress you and make you believe your civilization is lost. Once you succumb to that, you are, in the words of Ming the Merciless, “satisfied with less.” Why do you think ordinary white people are so willing to apologize for the sins of their ancestors and to confess to being racist without even knowing it? Why do you think corporate America is blindly endorsing a Marxist revolutionary organization that openly declares war on the nuclear family?

    What’s the second step? Destabilization.

Bezmenov describes that as a rapid decline in the structure of a society — its economy, its military, its international relations. We’ve discussed in this space the unquestionable impetus on the part of Democrats to keep the economy as hamstrung as possible with COVID-19 shutdowns, … The virus is the perfect platform by which to impose the economic destabilization the Left has wanted all along.

No, that isn’t a conspiracy theory. They’re telling you it’s what they’re after. Do you believe Ilhan Omar was off-script when she suggested dismantling America’s economy as a system of oppression earlier this week? Ilhan Omar, who paid a political consultant $900,000 in fees last year, money that came from somewhere, isn’t smart enough to say these things without having the script written for her. She’s being trotted out to introduce them because she’s already radioactive and a lightning rod for criticism, and also because she’s (1) black, (2) Muslim, and (3) an immigrant, and even an illegal one. To criticize her statements as cracked bears the signature not of incisive reasoning but rather racism. So when other Democrats join her call you are no longer allowed to object.

Google Omar’s statements and what you’ll find is a loud cacophony of gaslighting by left-wing media outlets like Common Dreams, The Nation, the Washington Post, …

The third stage is crisis, the catalyzing event that builds on the first two stages to bring on the change the revolutionaries are looking for. Looking for a crisis? Take your pick…
And then the George Floyd riots and the paroxysms of violence and virtue-signaling those have brought on, complete with the current campaign to bowdlerize American history and culture in an increasingly indiscriminate fashion.

What’s the fourth stage? Normalization. As in, a “new normal.” …

  19. The Queen of Peace church in Ocala where my son and his family attend and his boys serve as alter boys at thier Latin Rite High mass on Sundays was attacked and set fire by a mentally unbalanced man Saturday morning. The attached video mentions a group called The Troops of St George (which is a BSA replacement club for Catholic boys which my son is a leader and his three boys belong to) gave some of the Ocala police officers St Micheal medals for protection on Friday. The very next day, these same officers arrested this man who set their church on fire!
The video is long but the main theme on the Church burning is in the first 12 min.

Here is an article on the perpetrator:

    1. Doug, last month Vytas posted the link in his comment and it’s actually been posted many times since January 2017 after Trump was inaugurated. I responded to Vytas noting that the crux of the difficulty with this video is its invitation to errant thinking. For one thing, Trump is not our Savior leading us back to the Father. Certainly Trump has done a much more steadfast job defending the faith than almost anyone expected – yet, now we are firmly fixed on the focus that God calls ALL of us to active witness. We are each responsible before God for doing the little we can right in front of us… day in and day out, as we traverse this segment of the Storm. That is what will conform us to God’s will and lead us to Rescue. To admire the good work that anyone does is a good thing. Thank God for President Trump, indeed. Still, the way Father retells the story one might be tempted to subscribe to the notion that God will send a man on a white horse to accomplish all for us as we passively rely on the common idiom, “God’s got this,” when we are the men and women on white horses, the ballad of the ordinary man. And this is what God intends us to be.

      1. Yes Becks.  The comment that Trump would lead us back to God is misleading when listening to what the psychologist actually said.  However, i find it comforting as it reminds me that God “is” in control and we have been given great graces through him being in power.  Of course, it does not exempt us from doing our part.—- Sent from Doug’s Back Pack

  22. Hi folks,

The Basillica has a chatecism corner thingy that looks like fun.

    Here is the latest:

    2. Psalm 65: The Psalmist gives an explanation for the abundance at the harvest. What is the cause?
    3. “I consider that the sufferings of this present time are as nothing…” St. Paul says, compared to what? 4. St. Paul writes that creation awaits with eager expectation for what?
    5. What is a parable?
    6. Can you explain the parable of the Sower?

  23. Holy Cow! I was out of the loop for 3 days as I was away for my youngest son’s wedding and this site exploded with so many comments. My goodness it will take a few days just to catch up on what is going on.

I look forward to reading the latest and all of the comments.

  24. Here’s an old Christian rock song from around the year 2012 that they’ve been playing alot on the radio these days … probably because the lyrics seem to fit so well with the lockdown we’ve been experiencing, to remind us of what’s worth fighting for as far as American freedom and Western / Christian culture.

By the way, you might think the video a little slow-moving to start with, but wow, near the end at 2:56 to 2:57 minutes in … there’s a church scene you won’t want to miss … it got me crying a little anyways.

Life Is Beautiful by The Afters

    “A father’s love
    A wedding dance
    New Year’s dreams
    A toast with friends
A soldier coming home from war
The faith, the hope of so much more

    “A brand new life, a mother’s prayer
    Shooting stars, ocean air
A lover’s kiss, and hard goodbyes
    Fireworks, Christmas lights

“These are things that make us feel alive …”

  25. In everything i do and experience in these crazy times… I always end up coming back to Charlie, TNRS ASOH for calm and grounding!!! Thank you again, Charlie and all community here!!! Lots of wood to chop!!! Goodness!!!

“Some think they are smart and so, if they know enough, can outwit God. God is going to show all of these what fragile clay their feet are formed of.” CJ

  26. So grateful for this place of respite and hope during this Storm. Thanks to all of you.

I sure hope the rescue is soon. My biggest fear is I’ll drown off the coast… in 4 feet of water ( alluding to a previous Chatlie article). I wake up nauseous most days asking St. Joseph to help me get up to face the battle.

On a Godnote, I was standing outside in line for confession and chatted with a lady. I asked her if she ever heard of Father Rick Heilman. She said yes! Turns out we’re both doing the 40 Days of Freedom from the Devil. 😀

I have a feeling I will be seeing more of my new friend. At least every week for confession!

    1. Praying, Littleone, for that nauseous feeling in the morning to be replaced by waking up saturated in Christ’s Peace… that your mind is renewed in Christ, knowing that whatever is causing unrest is safely in His Hands and HE never sleeps. He’s always working, bringing good out of everything in our lives that’s messy. God bless you, Littleone.

      1. Your words are balm to me Beckita, thank you!

I found a prayer that you previously posted:

        St. Pio prayer

Prayer: Lord Jesus, you are the reason for my joy, and will never abandon me to my enemies. When the oppressive darts of sadness, darkness, doubt, discouragement, or fear come at me, stir up the Holy Spirit within me that I may be filled with the light of love, prayer, praise, gratitude, and remembrance of the joy to which I am called with you.

  27. *Cherishing the Light of the Rescue*
I listened to Cimela Kidonakis from Stella Mar films on my Catholic radio station (KVSS) this morning and I had to see what she was talking about in the movie *Love Reaches Everywhere*
The movie is only 35 minutes long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s8RF_ukusY
Please take the time to watch it–it is about Mary’s Meals–and it embodies everything that Charlie has said about living through this storm and the most beautiful recovery and triumph.
The movie is in multiple languages if you go to marysmeals.org so it can be seen all over the world.
What I saw filled me with so much hope in the way that Mother Mary is bringing about Her Triumph.
I hope it does the same for all here.

    1. I’m aware of the good works of Mary’s meals, Joyful. It really is the outpouring of what Jesus conveyed through St. Faustina: as we receive His Mercy we’re called to BE His Mercy via both the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. Thanks for the video. The first half features my home country in the Peace Corps for 2+ years: Liberia!

  28. Ta da!

Made it through all of the prayers of the Rosary today without having to refer to the website.
    The Our Father
    Hail Mary
    Glory Be
    Salve Regina

    Next up
The prayer to st Michael., which I just started reading from notes after the Rosary.

Funny story, i decided to “do Lent” which meant doing something I did not want to do for forty days and nights .
Diet? Nope, belly out, belly in, belly out, belly in. cycle gets boring. No more diets.
Happy hour? Please Lord, it is peaceful..
I know! Rosary! I will pray the Rosary for forty days and nights.

Got through Lent with the crib notes.

After Lent, I decided it is a nice thing to do for God, so I pray it daily.

If there is an angel named ‘Moley’ i say a lot of Holy Moley”s too. (:

  29. Sort of cool!!! I’ve been thinking a lot these past few days of what Charlie said which is to be less severe with others and more severe on ourselves because my fellows have been DRIVING ME NUTZ!!! Hahahahaha Of course I’ve been sick…again… and when I’m sick the first thing that leaves me is charity…but to get to the point of this post…I randomly opened Thomas a Kempis the imitation of Christ to this:

So amazing is the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD!!!

  30. This is the first article on masking that expresses my thoughts exactly. I’ve tried to communicate these points, and this article does it so well. This issue has so unnerved me. Seeing everyone fall in line lockstep on this fills me with foreboding– like we’re walking down the path to total loss of freedom. Slippery slope.

    1. He covers all the problems very well, especially the conclusion he makes that the new normal is now and will ever more be a masked face. As now everyone has accepted humans are unclean and not fit to live mask free. This fall our children will be completely indoctrinated in schools across the country—from childcare to college.

This lunacy is beyond understanding to me. Having watched Yuri Besmenov’s lectures years ago, I understand the take-over. What befuddles me is how many who know better and are in positions of power to make a real difference are not resisting. They should know Yuri tells the very first thing done when the take-over is complete is to round up the useful idiots and exterminate them. Anyone who is in a position of power and thinks that abiding by this tyranny will somehow protect them and those they serve are terribly misguided. Tyranny is never satiated. This is just history.

On Monday I had a young college kid visibly jump back in fear at the sight of my unmasked face in a local pharmacy as I turned the corner to walk into an aisle she was in. We were at least 10 feet apart.

We recently were on an airplane. The flight stewardesses were discussing how one Mom was making a fuss about her kid under 12 not being able to mask—they made the kid mask. I thought to myself, this game requires the biblical cunning of a serpent and innocence of a dove, as the fight is now beyond anything a single person can do. When all our leaders capitulated, this became evident. All that is left is prudent noncompliance/defiance. If the mom/kid all had a row together, no one notices if the mask is slipped just below one’s nose. No one even cares, as all that is required is the sight of compliance/total domination that one’s face is covered.

I’ve asserted early on that mandatory masking = pure evil. I stand by that and to the best of my ability try to not comply as I am reasonably able. After Our Lady’s Triumph, people will shake their heads asking one another how we all were duped into such dangerous tyranny.

      1. Littlelight– our county’s directive states that one is exempt if they have a medical reason. Deep in my bones this seems so demonic.

    2. Laura Ingraham on7/15 showed the scientific studies that show masks are ineffective.

We get emails from “nextdoor neighbor”.
Someone “reported” a store not enforcing people to wear masks.
Almost all of the commenters were utterly horrified
      That is until…

Thanks for the enlightenment. I’d also recommend not going to Walmart because I saw a person going the wrong way down a one way aisle. If fact avoid everything on Watson. I saw a car going 36 and the speed limit in 35.

Happy you find humor in the misery of others. All those who cannot pay rent, lost family businesses, have been ill or lost loved ones.
My good friend’s husband, retired StL City police officer died last week from covid. Caught it from his 20-something daughter who thought like you, this situation is a joke or hoax.
      You are not funny.

  31. I’m really pondering this quote today of Charlie’s!!! I pray we all get our primary security from God alone!
