Clergy Be Holy

Still Life, Jan de Heem, 1640

(Two of the things that worry me these days are actually flip sides of a single coin. On the one hand, I worry that some people are going to be indiscriminate about condemning honorable – though sometimes timid – clerics because of the hideous behavior of some in the clergy. On the other, I worry that some, out of false piety, will excuse just about any degradation committed by a cleric. The devil is waging war on both the faithful laity and on honorable Priests with the instrument of corrupted clerics.

Our friend, Dan Lynch, has started an initiative to pray for and support Bishops throughout the world in seeking Holiness and submission to Jesus the True King of All Nations . He is as weary of new “bureaucratic policies and procedures” coming from Catholicism, Inc as I was from the beginning.

The above painting of the Eucharist by Dutch artist Jan de Heem is my favorite Eucharistic portrait ever. I first saw it in a bulky tome. For whatever reason, it moved me profoundly – so much so that I cut it out of my book and have it taped to the back of my desk behind my laptop so that is always before me. It was painted in 1640.-CJ)

Clergy Be Holy!

In this present darkness, Jesus King of All Nations is shining his light on the sins of some of his ministers, those cardinals, bishops and priests who are or were practicing homosexuals, enablers of practicing homosexuals, homosexual abusers or enablers of homosexual abusers.

German Cardinal Walter Brandmuller wrote an article published in last November’s edition of the German monthly Vatican Magazin. (Source). He wrote, “The homosexual crisis among clergy is almost epidemic”, similar to the crisis in the Church in the 11th and 12th centuries. He referred to the time when Saint Peter Damien delivered an address in 1049 to Pope Leo IX in an appeal to “save the Church from the “sodomitic filth” that insinuates itself like a cancer in the ecclesial order, or rather like a blood thirsty beast through the flock of Christ.” The “sodomitic filth” was a reference to the book of Genesis that tells the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, the two cities that God destroyed with fire on account of their homosexual sins.

Cardinal Brandmuller wrote that “almost simultaneously a lay movement arose against the immorality of the clergy. He noted that then, as now, the ones expressing the protest and demanding a purification of the Church are above all segments of the Catholic laity, especially in North America.” Now is our time to arise and begin a lay movement against the immorality of the clergy.

Cardinal Brandmuller concluded, “It is in the collaboration of the bishops, priests, and faithful, in the power of the Holy Spirit, that the current crisis can and must become the point of departure for the spiritual renewal – and therefore also for the new evangelization – of a post-Christian society.”

The clergy should examine their consciences concerning their actions or failure to act in this current crisis. Those who are guilty should receive the sacrament of Reconciliation and in penance and reparation reach out to their victims, as they are able, and literally kneel before them in repentance, express their sorrow and beg their victim’s forgiveness and blessings. Apologies to the victims are not sufficient, there must be penance and reparation by the guilty.

The response of the bishops to this crisis should not be the preparation and implementation of more policies and procedures, as they have done since the crisis broke out in 2002, but rather their own personal repentance, conversion, personal holiness and their call to all of the clergy to do the same.

St. John Paul II inaugurated the Third Millennium with his Apostolic Letter, At the Beginning of the New Millennium. He wrote, “We are certainly not seduced by the naïve expectation that, faced with the great challenges of our time, we shall find some magic formula. No, we shall not be saved by a formula, but by a Person, and the assurance which he gives us: I am with you!… Holiness remains more than ever an urgent pastoral task. Be holy! Holiness is the urgent pastoral need of our times.”

The response of the laity to the homosexual sexual abuse crises should not be calls for letter writing campaigns to the bishops or the withholding of donations to the Church. It should be a call to the bishops for their own personal holiness and that of the clergy, echoing the call of St. John Paul II, “Clergy be holy!”

One way to bring the bishops to personal holiness would be for the laity to pray a Novena for them. Jesus King of All Nations revealed to us a Novena of Holy Communions as a part of the devotion to him. Jesus requested the faithful to “offer nine consecutive Holy Communions in honor of me as ‘Jesus King of all Nations’.”

The powerful and unprecedented effects of this Novena were shown to Jesus’ “Secretary” in a vision. She saw Jesus gazing up to heaven. Nine times He gave a command and an angel came to earth. Jesus explained, “My daughter, for those souls who will offer me [this] devotion I will bid an angel of each of the Nine Choirs, one with each Holy Communion, to guard this soul for the rest of its life on this earth.”

Jesus also wants us to pray the Novena for others, such as the bishops, and explains its necessity at this time, “This Novena may be prayed with its promises for another soul, and that soul will also receive additional angelic protection. I urge my faithful ones to offer me this Novena again and again so that I may continue to send down my holy angels for the protection and assistance of other souls who cannot do this for themselves. In the end-times the power of the enemy has greatly increased. I see how greatly my children are in need of my protection.”

The Novena consists of receiving nine consecutive Holy Communions and going to Confession during the Novena, if possible, in recognition of Jesus as the King of All Nations. Jesus will release nine angels for the bishop for whom you received the nine Holy Communions.

The Novena of Holy Communions does not have to be received over nine consecutive Holy Communions, one day after the other. It simply needs to be received over nine successive Holy Communions, one after the other, regardless of when they are received. For example, the easiest would be to do your Novena and receive the Holy Communions at nine successive Sunday Masses. Another option, would be to add in daily Masses during your Novena, as you are able, which would shorten the time span and increase the sacrificial aspect of your Novena. As part of your Novena of Holy Communions, you could pray the Novena in Honor of Jesus As True King found here.

We say ENOUGH! What can you do to bring about the purification of the Chruch and to fortify the people of God in faith, hope and perseverance? Adopt a bishop!

Please join our Adopt a Bishop Project and pledge to offer your Novena of Holy Communions for the personal holiness of a particular bishop. To join, simply click here to email us and place I Pledge into the subject line, or you can call our office at 802 524-5350, and we will then send you his name and diocese and instructions.

You will help to call down God’s angelic protection for our Church! Your adopted bishop will receive Jesus’ solemn promise of angelic protection.

May that grace bring about the purification of the Church from the corrupt homosexual clergymen whose sins cry out to heaven for vengeance.

May the victims of their abuse be healed and the holy, pure and faithful priests, religious and laity be fortified in faith, hope and perseverance.

  1. Amen, Charlie. Amen, Dan. I would also suggest that people consider giving a copy of In Sinu Jesu to their priests and bishops. It is a gem for priestly meditation with the mystical revelations expressing that Jesus is on the move to strengthen and sanctify His priests. Jesus, King of All Nations, have mercy on those men, chosen by You, who live and move and have their very being in You as they are always in person Christi.

    1. I’m thinking that In Sinu is the most important book I’ve ever read because it’s Jesus, just a few years ago, telling a priest what pleases Him most in our time before Him at adoration! At this moment in history we are so blessed.

  2. What we desperately need is increased spiritual awareness in the Church for all (clergy & lay people). Something easy to do throughout the day with little effort without having to read volumes of books, as most people won’t do that… In the 2000+ years of Christianity someone must of came up with techniques, system, or something, besides the regular routine of sacraments & prayer which many are already doing. Mindset is part of the equation.

Pride, vanity, false piety, etc can be annoying temptations to deal with internally, it would be very helpful to have coping strategies for effectively overcoming those…

  3. I belong to the “Seven Sisters Apostolate”. I am in a group of seven women who each agree to spend one holy hour on a set day of the week, ideally in an adoration chapel, exclusively for the needs and holiness of one priest. He has coverage seven days of the week. The commitment is for the position or office rather than for the individual priest, i.e. pastor of a particular parish. We began in 2010 in St.Paul. It takes a bit of learning on how to waste time in adoration for one priest (leaving my concerns aside) but God is a faithful teacher. Abp. Bernard Hebda supports the program and offers Mass for us when we meet as groups of groups in the Fall. There are now groups in many parts of the country.

Information on organizing a group, a prayer book, is available at http://www.SevenSistersApostolate.org.

    1. Thank you so much Katicon for posting the link. That is the second time in two days that this apostolate has been brought to my attention (was it someone else here yesterday who mentioned it?) and I have had a quick look – it looks like a great blessing. Indeed it looks like God’s ‘foot in the door’ that I had mentioned previously. Father (victura98 – see comments below) must take great heart with this and other like movements. Having recently moved into this parish and almost immediately come under threat of not having any priest at all, has awakened me to swing into action. SevenSisters makes it so easy. If I was to do a two and a half hour circular drive around my parish with it’s seven little communities and churches, surely there could be found six other like-minded people? And what a great way of getting to know distant fellow-parishioners!

  4. I have been aware for some years now that sometimes when I receive an inspiration, word of knowledge or prompting from the Holy Spirit, it also appears somewhere else in the world also to others as well who also receive it and are better suited than I to share it with the world. I received the devotion of the novena of communions some 25 years ago and have been practicing it ever since privately. Recently I was inspired to share this with the ASOH community and am now very pleased to see Dan Lynch encouraging us to send angels to bishops who heavens knows are in desperate need in these times of the Storm. If it encourages us to attend even more daily masses, all the better. I would like to remind everyone that Catholic laity are allowed to receive holy communion twice a day as long as the second communion is received as part of participation in a mass.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and protect us, lead us to all holiness and truth as we journey on in the process of the Rescue on the way to the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart. Watch and pray, pray and watch. TRUST in the Lord.

  5. “So often we say that God dwells in us, but it is better to say that we dwell in Him; in Him is our HOLINESS.”
“Keeping a heart free of all that tarnishes love: that is HOLINESS.
“Hungering and thirsting for righteousness: that is HOLINESS.”
“Being poor of heart: that is HOLINESS.”
“Seeing and acting with mercy: that is HOLINESS for mercy is the beating heart of the gospel.”
“Mary does not need a flood of words…all we need to do is whisper…time and again: Hail Mary.”
“Reacting with meekness and humility: that is HOLINESS.”
“Sowing peace all around us: that is HOLINESS.”
“Very often HOLINESS is found in our next door neighbours, those who, living in our midst, reflect God’s presence.”
“Knowing how to mourn with others: that is HOLINESS.”
“Accepting daily the path of the gospel, even though it may cause us problems, that is HOLINESS.”

These are some of the treasures that Pope Francis gives us on HOLINESS. For where your treasure is there also will be your heart. Their Hearts in us. Our hearts in Theirs. Treasure beyond measure.

      1. You’re welcome KT – I got them off a calendar produced by The Carmelite nuns in Dumbarton Scotland where I was raised. Used to love visiting the nuns as a child and talking to them through the bars…like visiting someone in prison… only those bars kept the baddies out!

  6. I’d like to offer a point of view almost never publicized, from an ordinary foot soldier on the Church’s front lines. I have labored for 21 years in the priesthood, preceded by six years in the seminary, and I have never seen any direct evidence of homosexuality in the priesthood, or the seminary, at all. Not even once. Everything I have learned about homosexuality in the priesthood has come from second hand accounts, stories from decades past, and news reports. But I myself have precisely zero direct knowledge of it.

You might never have heard any priest say this before, but I assure you, my experience is not unique. I’ve spoken about this with other priests, and have concluded that the reason priests will not mention this is because we do not wish to imply that a problem does not exist. We know a problem exists. We know that more than 80% of the abuse cases in the priesthood are homosexual in nature. None of us wants to distract attention from that problem. However, I believe it is important to know the problem is not ubiquitous, as most think it to be.

Every priest I know, without exception, is striving to live his vocation to the best of his ability in the most hostile environment in his lifetime. The bishops do NOT have our backs. We are frightfully vulnerable. A priest’s life is all the more difficult knowing that many or most of the souls in the pews hold him in perpetual suspicion of crimes he would never commit.

We willingly accept this current state of affairs. The Church must be purified. The active agent of the Church’s purification must be humility. Humility is the milk on which the infant of charity is nursed to health, and humility is learned by the willing acceptance of humiliations, from the hand of God’s providence. This purification must come for the bishops first, and the rest of the clergy second.

The entire body of the clergy, from Pope to the simplest parish priest, must pass through the crucible of humility in order to regain the prophetic voice it has lost, through decades of easy compromise with modernism, and worldliness.

St. Teresa of Avila once said that humility is like the foundation of a building. The deeper the foundation, the higher the architect intends to build. Similarly, the deeper the humility of a soul, the higher God intends to build it up in his service. If our current depths are any indication of the divine plan, it appears that our Lord plans to rebuild the Church, monumentally.

Until the Church is renewed, I implore you three things. First, do not suspect all clergy of the worst behavior. Did you know that, at this moment, many faithful priests are at their breaking point? They are striving to be faithful to their sacred calling, and are simply worn out from too much work (many priests are working twice as hard as they ought, because there are about half as many priests as there ought to be), and from little to no support from their bishops or from the faithful.

Secondly, take heart in knowing that most priests are quietly striving to be faithful, and are in fact doing so. All is NOT rotten in Denmark.

Thirdly, if you know a good priest, please encourage him in very subtle ways. Greet him with a smile and a simple wave of the hand. Write him a tiny hand-written note to say “thank you.” I assure you, your small effort will make a world of difference. You may save a good priest from losing hope, and enable him to continue to offer God’s grace to a world that needs it more than ever before.

Thank you, and God bless you!

    2. Wow, Victura! What a magnificent witness you give. I am very close with about a dozen Priests – and they say the same things (though there are two who HAVE seen direct evidence of the problem). When they want to nurture and heal, it pains them terribly to be viewed with open suspicion, though they acknowledge that the clergy has earned it by the unpunished and prominent sins of a few.

Look, I like this comment so much I really want to reprint it as a standalone article. It needs to be heard. I would, of course, simply refer to you as Fr. Victura. God bless you and sustain you and all of your noble brothers in this time of deep trial. You are paying the price for the sins of others.

    3. I have offered a specific, special prayer for your priesthood. I have asked the Saviour to place you under the patronage of the six priests I have worked with who are now deceased (4 Dominican and 2 secular). May He allow them to watch and guide your daily decisions and pray for you as you put out into the deep, finding sweet consolation in the love and protection of Jesus, the Priest. Please pray for priests and Bishops, living and deceased and may these pray for you: Msgr. Francis Wearden, Fr. John Nijenhuis, Fr. Albert Moraczewski, O.P., Fr. William Brenda, O.P., Fr. Joseph Konkel, O.P. and Fr. Isidore Vicente, O.P.

    4. Victura98, based on my own experience over more than three decades since I became Catholic, I very much appreciate and concur with your perspective. While you and the priests you know have not had direct experience with the problem (thank God!), you acknowledge that it exists ~ and it does.

I think the two sentences that sadden me the most are: “The bishops do NOT have our backs. We are frightfully vulnerable.” Heartfelt prayers for you-all, because it’s very hard to feel alone in the battle.

I wonder, though, do you mean most individual bishops in general do not have your backs, or do you mean the USCCB or other groupings of bishops, which consult with one another to come up with plans and policies to address various issues, are more concerned about protecting their dioceses (reputation and assets) than about supporting their faithful priests? Right now I’d say faithful bishops, too, find themselves in the crosshairs of suspicion if not outright attack. They don’t always handle this ideally.

This is certainly a winnowing time. Holding you and your brother priests in my heart-prayers.

      1. This is a difficult question to answer, because I can only speak from my own experience, which is limited. I am in regular communication with priests from about four dioceses, and all of them would concur with my assessment. I do hope it is better elsewhere in the country, for everyone’s sake.

    5. Thanks for your steadfast service, V98. The laity groans in the labor pains too, but it’s clear the Priesthood is undergoing a particularly painful and difficult labor. Fortunately the Priests I know have the kind of patient endurance that can only be sustained with superhuman effort. Real Priests. We each try to have a brother’s back, but ought to do more.

    8. Father, thank you for sharing this. I often wondered how our good and faithful priests are weathering all the attacks brought on by the handful of lost ones. At communion as our priest consumes Jesus, I pray for our parish priests and those who help with our youth events, and our bishops, asking for continued courage, strength and wisdom during these difficult times. I also pray for all religious who have strayed or fallen away from their duties that they may find their way back. I will begin to include your name in those prayers. May you be uplifted in knowing that all of us are praying for you and with you. Peace in Christ. ~juls

  7. Sometimes, as we move from one major post to another, the comments under the previous post(s) are overlooked. What Charlie wrote in a reply to Sr. Bear this morning, I think, is of great significance both for the purpose of building a kind of mental toughness in the sense of being prepared for what is to come *and* for encouragement to stay the course in praying and sacrificing for the sake of souls to be converted:

Sadly, Sr. Bear, I have known public officials who would sell out their grandmother for a juicy TV appearance. Some of those would be known to everyone here. People get their validation by their power, their notoriety, their wealth – and it has caused people to pursue these things as ends. As the darkness expands, more people are openly cynical and manipulative. A big part of the Storm is to reveal that those things, when pursued as ends, bring death and misery. And so it must be. People are having to choose now whether they will get their validation from loving God and their neighbor or just die in their sin and vanity. Already, it has begun that to be callously manipulative does not advance you, but brings you down. This is just a trickle that will very soon be a flood. May all repent. Sadly, I know many will not – and most of you shall live to see the horrible end of those who could not get past their own vanity and self-serving brutality. The serpent tells them that they shall be like gods and they believe it…but the serpent is being revealed as the great dragon, the satan. Ironically, he will relish their agony, even as they have served him with great fervor. For those who, by self-serving cynicism, have effectively given themselves to the satan, I have bad news: he’s just not that into you.

  8. Thank you Fr. Victura for your most moving testimony. I assure you I have never been one of the many or the most and I hope the most do not even exist as it is contrary to the deepest teaching of God in the Old Testament and of Jesus most strongly and more directly in the New Testament, “Judge not lest you be judged.” How dare anyone look at any priest of Christ with any thoughts of suspicion without any direct cause for that suspicion. When I was at seminary from September 1954 until June 1958, I too never saw even a hint of any homosexuality or even any undue hint of inappropriate friendships between seminarians I observed.
Thank you Fr. Victura for your 21 years of faithful service as a priest. Take comfort in knowing that the only truly meaningful knowing of who you are and of your faithful service comes from the three persons of the Blessed Trinity and all the saints and angels of Heaven, I like to say, “There are only three persons whose opinions matter to me and that is the three persons of the Blessed Trinity, Father Son, and Holy Spirit. Why should I be concerned about the ignorant and uninformed opinions of mere human beings. Why should I put myself in their power by needing their affirmation?
May Christ strengthen and uphold you, may our Mother Mary protect you and comfort you in the warmth of her loving mantel.

  9. A little off topic, but maybe not. Something that I wrote today at work during some down time. Just some interesting noticed correlations, I discovered over two days as my mind was let loose to ponder.
I’m a numbers guy and sometimes I love to see if they tell a story. Sorry it is so long. Though it appears predictions are present, I assert I am making no predictions.

Greg Blitz study on important dates in Jesus’ life – made a comment about how the Jewish Feast days were dress rehearsals. How he believes 5 of the 7 are fulfilled and 2 are unfulfilled. How he believes the fulfilled ones were fulfilled on their feast dates. The feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) he believes is unfulfilled and could represent the Warning or Illumination of Conscience. It is celebrated on the 1st day of the 7th month. Which in 2019 is Sept. 30th.

So my mind it likes to find connections and I pray sometimes for God to help me see better what is going on. Over a couple days my mind began piecing together some interesting dates and numbers.

In Garabandal, and someone who is more attune with the prophecy can correct me, but from my understanding there is the belief that the warning will occur shortly after an ‘important’ council in the Church. Feb 21st will begin the four-day Summit by the heads of more than 100 national bishop conferences to discuss sex abuse. Interesting that is one day after the 99-year anniversary of Jacinta’s (Fatima) death. And her feast day! She was 9 when she died. Fatima for me is the pivot point. And I believe that Mary used the word important for truly such a discussion is very important, especially to the young. Just a side note April 4th is also an important date as that is the date of death of Francisco. I never before put this together before but it is also an important date for me because I believe it the date where God touched my mind to begin healing of my mind. Maybe this date represents the healing of the mind of the Church to prepare for the Triumph and bring our minds back to the Lord.

Between Jacinta’s feast day and Sept. 30th (Rosh Hashanah) of this year is exactly 221 days. Or 17 times 13.

Now this is fun for me. I am not making any predictions just observations.

    The Jewish calendar year at Sept 30 2019 is 5780. 5780 = 17 times 17 times 20. 17 times 17 equals 289.

Assuming the calendar represents from the time Adam and Eve left the garden, as I believe it is supposed to represent (though much debate on that), if you take 17 times 17 times 13 you get 3,757 or approx. 3 to 4 B.C. / around the time Christ came into the world.

17 times 17 times 17 equals 4,913 or 1,152 A.D. approx.. 20-30 years before the birth of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Dominic. In 1350 St. Vincent Ferrer was born, who lived during the Western Schism and is known for the conversion of many Jews and a great preacher. St. Vincent had a vision of Christ, St. Dominic, and St. Francis of Assisi. After the vision he had many supernatural gifts, and believed that he was a messenger of penance, an “angel of apocalypse” sent to prepare the world for judgment. And I believe somewhere I read something about St Vincent having a mystical marriage with Mary, which struck me as odd, I could only think of St. Joseph. But I think maybe that is the connection.

History does not repeat it rhymes. St. Pope John Paul II introduced a fourth set of mysteries to the Rosary – the Illuminous – St. Dominic is often associated with the creation and promotion of the Rosary. By the way there is a story where St. Francis and St. Dominic met one day and exchanged belts. St. Francis is well known for his humility and the dream Pope Innocent III had about St. Francis holding up the crumbling Church. Of those who may question how this rhymes with Pope Francis, I can remember a story that I read where St. Francis came back from a mission and his brothers had built a library. Enraged St. Francis climbed on the roof and began throwing down shingles determined to destroy the building. And then he heard a voice from heaven ask Francis if this was his Church or God’s Church. (Can’t remember the exact saying but the point). Francis got it. And then you have in these times the reintroduction of St. Joseph into the mass by Pope Francis. Ok so whom is the angel of the apocalypse, the great preacher converting during the time of the Great Schism and converting many Jews, Muslims and Schismatic. Remember his vision of Christ and St. Francis and St. Dominic and mystical marriage with Mary. Some say there is a priest alive today. Fr. Sudac with the sign of redemption on his head and the wounds of Christ in his hands that he may one day be the Angelic Shepherd. Time will tell obviously.

So why 17. Seven represents Divine perfection and 10 represents man’s own struggle and ordinary perfection. 17 then represents the meeting or union of the two where God meets man in his struggles and brings about man’s redemption and perfection (man’s struggle and God’s grace). So to look at it through the Trinity’s eyes. 17 times 17 times 17 – the year 1152 A.D. So my thought. Christ comes late in history – 17 time 17 time 13. The full redemption or purification (final chastisement) of man must come – 17 times 17 times 17. But it is delayed given the intervention of Mary. So she sends two great saints to rebuild the Church. 17 times 17 times 18 = 1,441 we see the beginning of the reformation, but then Mary goes herself as our Lady of Guadalupe basically once again stepping on the head of the serpent. Then 17 times 17 times 19 and you get 1730 and the age of the enlightenment. Mary comes back with the miraculous medal, many wonderful apparitions and popes finding against modernism and the falsities of the age of reason.

So I would argue none of the problems that came forth in these three periods are over but coming to a head.

Interesting enough if you take 17 time 17 times 20 you get 5,780 or 2019 A.D. HMMM!!! Anyway I agree this is not the end, but I wonder given Mary’s unity with her son if these three periods since 1,152 are given due to her and her intercession. So if I where to ponder the end of things (mere speculation) I wonder if we have up to a 13 extension. 17 times 17 times 30. Of course, after the triumph and whether that gets cut short or not I guess is up to us. So if Mary is truly preparing us (the world for the return of her son) than it would make sense that the addition could not be more than 13 as that is how long the world was prepared before Christ’s first coming into the world. Flesh of my flesh. The Two Hearts. As sin entered the world through a woman, so redemption enters the world through a woman. The second eve not only through her perfect yes and acceptance of the life of God made man but also through her tireless work preparing for the second coming of her son.

Anyway some fun with numbers but interesting stuff to ponder, at least for me.

It won’t save my soul but it could save my butt. And it could be great fun – if I get enough time to enjoy it. Now there was a parable about a guy who stockpiled his assets and died the next day. Worth remembering.

  11. I worked in a parish back in the early 2000’s right around the time the first scandal broke.
There were several priests I had met from around the diocese that got the “ax” for transgressions. Before this happened, some had moved on and were living a normal life as a faithful priest but because of thier past transgressions, got laicised, and one was even jailed.
One pastor, with his jaw set like flint, stood in front of his congregation and openly professed innocence of any wrongdoing. The negative atmosphere around the priesthood was so great he felt he needed to assure his congregation that they could still trust him. One of the associate pastors, out of fear, discussed with my brother and I (we were the church handymen) about installing glass panes in the confessional doors!
This time around the outcry seems very much louder than what I remembered.

    1. I think i’ve heard that too. I like to think outside the box. Im in no way predicting or making any type of assumptions, just pointing to some interesting facts. That said 2019 is an odd year but 5780 is not. Also i noticed that 17 plus 17 plus 20 equals 54. I think the numbers can be used to see a bigger picture story but would not assume to use them as a predictive tool.

    2. Time will tell, Anne, Joe and Joecro. God, the Author of all prophecies, has been known, more often than not, to surprise His children when something seemed so certain to be one thing or one way. Consider the Apostles who took direct instruction from Jesus. D.i.r.e.c.t. i.n.s.t.r.u.c.t.i.o.n. HE, the Lord of All, Personally prepared them and, still, they were stunned and overwhelmed at how it all unfolded. Why? For one reason, they had set expectations in their minds for how it *should* be and were so upset at the actual outcome that they were filled with fear, ran and deserted the Lord.

Not to be contentious – for I realize many have their favorite messages from Our Lord and/or Our Lady, often related to the great graces received when visiting an apparition site or shrine – but to suggest caution for us all: every authentic message from God, given through His message bearers, is but a whisper, a misty look through, what is to unfold in His Plan.

I deeply respect your great love for the Garabandal messages, Joecro. And I love Garabandal too. The smell of the los Pinos and the graces poured out at that holy place remain with me always. At the same time, the messages of Garabandal are not stand alone prophecies for these times. By this, I mean to say that they comprise a most exquisite and beautiful patch of the Great Quilt of messages which have been given from Heaven in the end of this era. Too, many are they who interpret the Garabandal messages differently than do some groups of folks who follow them. That is not to deny anyone the right to their ways of interpreting and discerning which often is shaped by the writings and people with whom one associates and discusses the messages.

That said, there are many who do not discern and interpret in only the literal way. For example, Fr. Wang has always held to the idea that Our Lady used the word “communism” with the girls not in its literal meaning. His opinion is that the girls were so very young and especially innocent having grown up in a small secluded village so that Our Lady used the most simple and understandable word for them to repeat. Father has discerned that the word “communism” is representative of all that the communists advance in their agenda: atheism, socialism, hedonism and every -ism that is anti-Gospel, thus anti-God. Another example was the surprising timing of Joey Lomangino’s death. We have known many a Garabandal follower who expected the prophecy about Joey: “You shall see on the day of the Miracle.” would be fulfilled with Joey literally being able to see again while living on earth. Not so did this occur.

The reason I speak to these things is so that we can be mentally and emotionally prepared to be completely open to whatever, however, whenever, whichever, whoever God uses to unfold His Plan. Thus, I hold in my contemplation Charlie’s latest piece on interpreting prophecy, The End of the Beginning – Part III, as I continue to ponder in my own heart the many messages with which Heaven has blessed us in these times.

      1. Joey’s “New Eyes ” !
( 3 events confirm it , A message to Joey from Mary, Conchitas ‘s letter to Joey as given by Mary, and Joey’s dream ! )

A MESSAGE FROM MARY. Unless specifically asked, Joey never mentions the prophecy concerning his eyes. But he believes without reservation that he will one day see. The Virgin Mary said so.
How did the prophecy come about? There’s a little more background to it than is generally known.
Some months after the accident (June 27, 1947) that blinded him, Joey was asleep at home in Brooklyn. He shared a bedroom with his three brothers. Joey’s bed was farthest from the door. He woke to a voice which seemed to be coming from the hallway:
“Joey do you want to see again?”
        “Yes.”
“Then you pray. Say 17 Hail Mary’s, seven Acts of Contrition, five Our Father’s three times a day.
        When will you be back?
        Soon.”
Concerning this voice, Joey is emphatic: “I never had any visions, locutions or any of those things. I’m just ordinary. But God knows what it takes to move me. This thing that happened to me was real and I know it, and I will never believe I dreamed or imagined it.”
Many years passed and, as Joey puts it, “Nothing happened.” But the reality of it never diminished. He continued to say the requested prayers faithfully three times a day.

        CONCHITA’S LETTER.
Seventeen years later, in Garabandal, he told Conchita about it. He told her at the same time about his desire to establish a home for the abandoned afflicted, a project he’d conceived as a result of having participated in several pilgrimages for the sick to St. Anne de Beaupre’ Shrine in Canada. Conchita told Joey she would speak to the Virgin Mary about him. Joey left Garabandal on the same day, March 18, 1964. Two weeks later at his home in Lindenhurst, New York, he received a letter from Conchita:
        St. Joseph’s Day
        1964
        My Dear Joseph,
Just two lines to tell you the message which the Blessed Virgin gave me for you today at the pines…she told me that the voice you heard was hers and that you shall see on the very day of the Miracle. She also told me that the House of Charity you will establish in New York will bring great glory to God.
        Conchita Gonzalez
“It took some time for the prophecy to sink in,” says Joey. “But the thing that made me very happy immediately was the confirmation of the voice. God rewarded my faith in His own wonderful way.” As to the “House of Charity,” Joey believes the Virgin referred to his New York Garabandal Center. “Everything we do here,” says Joey, “is for the glory of God.”

        JOEY’S DREAM.

It was early in 1965, Joey was at home in Lindenhurst lying on the couch saying his rosary. Meditating, these words kept coming to him-dream-trees-Garabandal-dream-Garabandal -trees-dream…. His mind went back to May, 1949, he had just been registered at Blind School.

He was unhappy in this strange place, with his blindness – he didn’t want it. He was alone, he missed his family, and he knew they were suffering. Joey had been put in the infirmary for orientation. He waited, he listened, he knew he was alone. After a while, he got up, began to take a few steps, then a few more-the door- way. Cautiously, he made his way down the hallway but then, without realising it, passed through an open exit door and fell down a flight of stairs. Not wanting to cause alarm, he quickly crawled up the stairs and clung to the wall searching for the doorway opening. Hurt, scared, lonely and frustrated, he laid on his bed, took out his rosary and then began to cry. He cried himself to sleep.
        Joey recalls this dream:
“I saw what I thought was a beautiful golf course, lush green grass, rolling hills, a clump of trees behind me and I was standing there, looking up. There was something going on up in the heavens. I had my eyes back-and they were blue.” “When I awoke I felt comforted by what I saw. Although I was scared, I knew in time I would be all right. This thought sustained me as I started a new life in a blind world and I had the courage to make the most of every opportunity that would come to me.”
It was only in 1965, after all those years, that Joey was to connect this consoling dream with the Garabandal events.

On December 6, 1962,Conchita had a 90 minute ecstasy around 5:30 in the afternoon after which, she provided two more pieces of information regarding the Miracle: 1) One day, before the Miracle, something will happen that will cause many people to stop believing in the apparitions of Garabandal. The doubts and desertions will not be due to an excessive delay of the Miracle.

Jesus comments on belief of Garabandal before the Miracle

From Conchita, Diary pg. 204, 1966: He [Jesus] replied…”I want to tell you, Conchita, that before the miracle occurs, you will suffer much, for few people will believe you. Your own family will believe that you have deceived them. I am the one who wants all this, as I have already told you, for your sanctification and so that the world may comply with the message. I wish to advise you that the remainder of your life will be a continual suffering. Do not be freightened. In your suffering you will find me and also Mary whom you love very much… I will be with whoever suffers for me.”

      2. Thank you for your response Beckita and like you I have no wish to be contentious.

Fr Wang is far from being alone in his understanding of the word “Communism.” I share his understanding and have posted that many times. A quote from Padre Pio inscribed on his bust near The Pines in Garabandal alludes to that understanding in stating that the world has a better chance of surviving without the sun than without the Mass.

That having been said the village would have been very familiar with the horrific persecution of the church and the murder of many thousands of the clergy and civilians by Communists during the Spanish Civil war.

During the two “nights of screams” the young girls were given in vision a preview of The Tribulation and the conditional Chastisement which will be far the worse of the two. In the preview the girls were shown scenes of terror and persecution which reflected the recent history if their country under Communism.

That taken together with the prophesy of hostilities in Northern Spain, Italy and France with revolution at The Vatican driven by a revival of Communism lends credence to the literal understanding of the word. During the cold war the word “Communism” was invariably prefixed by the word “atheistic”. They were inseparable as far as Catholics were concerned and their combination exposed the true danger of that political creed: the lie that we don’t need God, that we are self sufficient.

For me Garabandal is the stand alone prophesy for these times. No other event has ever been proclaimed by Mary herself to be the greatest miracle that her Son has ever worked and no other prophesy has ever been specifically presented by heaven as one whose sole intention and purpose is for the conversion of the whole world to the Roman Catholic Faith. We are told by Our Blessed Mother in Garabandal and Akita that these stand alone as her last warnings.

For me to alter this gift by adding or subtracting elements detracts from the work of the artists responsible for its creation. It would be like me chopping a bit out of my beloved carving of Our Lady of Akita or worse still sticking a bit on to it. Funny enough of my four commissions of this image sent all over the world, the only work that suffered damage was the one entrusted to the care of Charlie. It also was the one that suffered the longest delay in its delivery. (Not blaming you Charlie.) I wonder if it too will be restored after The Miracle.

In respect to adding interpretations to the traditional understanding of the prophesies of Garabandal, good intentions are not good reasons. In this I do not insist that only I have all the answers. That would be both arrogant and ignorant: stupid.

Charlie reduces my faith in Garabandal to one that is linear and one dimensional and as such falls short of the truth. Of course Charlie is entitled to his opinion although I fail to understand how he has come to this conclusion. There are linear and literal elements to the prophesies of Garabandal. There is also mystery yet to unfold and be revealed. I have always subscribed to both.

But I have the words of Our Lady and the reports of her seers the vast majority of which require no interpretation but only faith. As Padre Pio wrote in a letter to the seers, “They do not believe in your conversation with The Lady in White. They will believe but by then it will be too late.” Faith is the starting point in prophesy but it must be faith in what has been given not in an interpretation of what has been given. Fulfillment is the finish.

Between faith and fulfillment we may be hugely surprised by the unfolding but we have been given enough detail to have our faith affirmed in its unfolding.

For instance we are told amongst many other details, that Tribulation will follow the popes visit to Moscow and that it will be interrupted by the Warning and that the Warning will be followed by The Miracle for which we will be given 8 days notice. This is literal information and requires no interpretation.

The content and manner of The Warning has also been clearly given. Nothing need be added to that. It is a stand alone prophesy even though others allude to it. It alone is given in our time, the time of this pontificate. No other prophesy is as clear in its delivery and detail from beginning to end and aftermath. We know the WHAT if it. The unknown is HOW each one of us will experience it.

One of my favourite prophesies about Garabandal is that on the day after the miracle the body if Fr Louis Andre S.J. will be found incorrupt and perfect as at the moment of his death. It is known to be nothing more than a bunch of bones for now! A fitting first miracle for the first Jesuit pope in the history of the Church: a little thank you gift from his Mother.

        1. I correct my comment – I should have said that faith must not be in an interpretation of what has been prophesied but in the prophesy itself. I should have said subjective or unqualified interpretation. Of course the magisterium interprets how and what we should believe. So far it has reserved judgement on Garabandal except to say that it is unproven for now.

        2. Joe, I understand what you’re saying about a revival of communism, yet, I shared Father’s interpretation of “communism” because he, and others, think we’re living it right now… the “it” being the tribulation, for the Godless agenda has been and is being pushed – all over the world – to oppress people who believe in God and live His Commandments. See, I don’t see differing interpretations of what you have stated as the sequence as “adding to” or “taking away” from belief in the Garabandal messages. Not at all. I see them as simply differing interpretations of what *could* transpire. That’s not an abberation of the messages; it’s simply a differing interpretation.

So, you often write about the sequence of what is to come, Joe. I accept that this is what you, and others with whom you have discerned, believe. Perhaps that is just what God will do. Then, Blessed be God! However, the sequence may not pan out as you and others believe it will. And if God so chooses a differing sequence, then, Blessed be God! My concern is for ALL of us in this community. IF any one of us thinks we have THE sequence of events figured out and God moves through His Plan in a different way than what we expect, how will we respond? I don’t want to fall into panic and fear if God’s actual Plan turns out to be quite different than what I may have expected. My whole point in writing today is to encourage us all to remain completely open to HIM, particularly, when events we were so sure would come to pass, actually don’t. Truth is, no one but God knows just how all will transpire.

God bless us one and all.

          1. As I already said, I agree with Fr’s understanding of the word Communism in relation to Garabandal. If he, however, does think that we are in the full Tribulation which is specifcally associated with the particular revival of Communism prophesied at Garabandal then, according to reliable witness, he is simply mistaken. I am sure that he agrees that his experience of oppressive Chinese Communism finds little or no reflection in the majority of the so called developed and free world – I mean the terrible and widespread suffering and persecution of the Church and the general population at large when he had to flee China – not for instance the unborn child who we Catholics regard as fully part of our society at large. We may indeed be living through the exponential growthl of atheistic attitudes and actions but in themselves they do not constitute the repercussions. Tribulation results from revival. But this will be visited on us. Chastisement may be avoided but Tribulation is inevitable and it will come as foretold by Our Lady. I will not doubt or cast doubt on what, for our own good, we have been told by Our Lady. I have not figured out the sequence of the events prophesied at Garabandal. Our Lady herself has given us this information. Satan may be able to make it appear to some that the sequence has been altered but deception is his best game. Jesus became a sign of contradiction, not his mother, and he has never contradicted her. Again, as I said we know what will transpire, we have clear indications when it will transpire and we know much of the detail of how it will transpire. The rest of the “how” remains mystery. This knowledge gifted to us by God through His mother will honor her in its fulfillment. And she will be given full credit for The Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart just as Jesus wanted and just as he told Sr Lucia. I have used up much of my energy for today.

            1. As you know, the most important thing about Garabandal is that we are encouraged to live the message, to start living better lives if we have not done so already. Sadly this discussion has distracted from that. The reliability of the prophesy encourages that change. Nothing of which I have said suggests that we should not stay open to God or that we should not reserve our trust for God alone but as far as Garabandal goes it is clear that the messages and prophesies are intended to facilitate this and we have had no indication that they should be seen as dufferent from their initial presentation. In all this I respect your right to hold a different opinion. I do not however respect an opinion based on speculation on possible developments or outcomes rather than reliable witness and information from Our Blessed Mother. The four gospels vary slightly in content and presentation but largely agree. This is one of their marks of authenticity. Just so the witness of the seers.

              1. I would like to add an observation. How it fits I is up to your discernment. As I have said before, it is not mine to tell people what to think but to point the way and then let others more capable than I to flesh it out as appropriate. A basic truth: If you consult a good dictionary, many words have more than one narrow meaning. One method of communication requires feedback as to what a person’s words mean to the other by responding “I understand what you said to mean…” with enough enumerations to insure that we may communicate most clearly. I am always aware that what I say or try to say may not mean to the person receiving it what my intent was and tend to put the blame for any lack of understanding on my lack rather than blame them. I recognize that many statements in communications require interpretation to arrive at the intended meaning. There are many examples of valid prophesy that when it finally came to pass, it was not exactly as expected. As I have said before, God seems to like to leave some mystery so that we may exhibit the trust that He wants in us.

I replied to you as soon as my eyes were open before I had even made my morning offering. I was too hasty. The tribulation proper begins after the pope returns to the Vatican from Moscow and the Warning will happen when The Tribulation is at its worst. Yes, The Warning will be in an even year.

We’ll have great speakers. We’re going to have music, but we’re also going to do a live ultrasound of a third-trimester baby,” Focus on the Family President Jim Daly explained.
And with the 4-D technology that we have, it looks like a picture of a 1-year-old,” he noted. “There is no way a person is going to be able to say, ‘That is not a child.’ It is a child and we want everybody to see it.” http://tinyurl.com/yyrrgfpz

But the pendulum is also swinging stronger to the polar opposite… Periodically I scan the H.Post website to get their pulse. A mother penned a personal story about her child conceived from rape and born with multiple health problems living only for a year. “If I had been allowed the option to choose a ‘late-term abortion,’ would I? Yes. A hundred times over, yes. It would have been a kindness. (the baby) would not have had to endure so much pain in the briefness of her life…. Perhaps I could have been spared as well.”

    1. Prayers ascending for you and your dear family, Noreen. Praying, especially, that you are able to stay strong. If I may suggest: please consider asking Holy Spirit, every day, to pour out new measures of faith and trust within you… ruminate, not in worry but in joy, over various scripture verses such as John 16: 23-24: “Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.” So many of these verses are not only comforting, they are Promises to us from God. Claim them by thanking Him, in advance, for how He is resolving – even now – every problem of which you are concerned. In fact, He is more concerned about seeing us through our trials and challenges than we are. Perfect Love He is. If you wish to do so, you can listen to the latest podcast from Sonja Corbitt, a lay evangelist, and I think you may well find consoling and strengthening words in what she shares from both Biblical and personal stories. It is here. God bless you too, Noreen. We’ve got your back in prayer and well wishing.

    1. And I believe in Garabandal, too. So grateful for having made pilgrimage to this blessed village. Now, I wait in joyful hope for the fulfillment of all the authentic prophecies which have been given. Brings to mind the Vietnamese people who, for years, recorded their history stories in exquisite and gorgeous quilts until their written language was developed. In wonder, I wonder just how God will thread all the patches of the various prophecies together as if fashioning a Great Quilt. I wonder which interpretations and understandings about prophecies that I have held will come about as it seemed they would… and I wonder which ones will not come pass as I thought they should. And, in childlike wonder, I await the surprises which only God, Perfect Love Himself, could bring to pass. I really do want what He wants.

      1. I had several thoughts that came to my mind when Joey passed..

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are exalted above the earth, So are My ways exalted above your ways, And My thoughts above your thoughts.” (Is. 55: 8-9)
“Oh, the depth of the riches Of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are His judgments, And how unsearchable His ways.” (Rom. 11:33)

        1. Absolutely LOVE these quotes, Joecro. SO apropos. They encapsulate my very point, not only about what happened with Joey’s passing, but also what is to come as prophecy unfolds and people are, perhaps, shocked if their cherished beliefs, understandings and interpretations do not materialize as people think they should. Blessed be God in all His Thoughts and Ways and Judgements!

      2. These were Glenns thoughts

Most people did not know that Joey suffered greatly the last two years of his life, and in addition to being blind, he became nearly deaf and was so weak from several heart attacks, he could not attend mass. So, Did Joey fulfill saying the prayers he was supposed to say each day , to fulfill the prophecy to regain his sight ? Mary said :
“Joey do you want to see again?”
        “Yes.”
“Then you pray. Say 17 Hail Mary’s, 7 Acts of Contrition, 5 Our Father’s ,
        3 times a day. “
I know the last 2 years of his life , he suffered so greatly, I am wondering if Joey ( in the midst of all his recent sufferings) wasn’t able to complete that or that he asked to be taken to Heaven early ?

What did Mary say EXACTLY to Conchita to tell Joey? She said “that you shall see on the very day of the Miracle. “ – Well this can also be interpreted as he will see the Miracle from Heaven or on earth in a glorified body ,both now sighted.

How many people continued to believe in Christ and his message ,after he died? How many believed Mary when she said ( as a virgin ) she conceived a baby from the Holy Spirit ? How many people mocked our Lord as he died on the cross, reminding him he said he would rebuild the Temple in 3 days, yet he was nailed to a cross now. The truth is revealed in God’s time and manner, not our limited human ones for understanding. For God , NOTHING is impossible !

The famous story when Mary kissed a makeup compact in one of her visits, and everyone was dumb founded as to why, when she asked to kiss only sacramentals, and she kissed this object of vanity ? Only later did she reveal that it was in fact a PYX ,used during the Spanish War to carry communion to the soldiers ! Again , we had to wait for the Heavenly answer.

Don’t forget what happened with St. Faustina Kowalska!! Jesus promise St. Faustina she would assist to the institution of the Feast of Divine Mercy!! St. Faustina died in 1938!! And the Feast of Divine Mercy was institued in 2000!!
She has assisted to the institution of the Feast!! But from the Heaven!

Remember when God sent his prophet Jonah to the city of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria (one of ancient Israel’s fiercest enemies), Jonah’s initial message seems to be one of inevitable doom: “Forty days more, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!” (3:1-4)

Contrary to Jonah’s own expectations, however, the Ninevites respond to his preaching by believing in God, proclaiming a fast, covering themselves with sackcloth and ashes as signs of repentance, and praying to God not to destroy them. (3:5-9)
As a result, God changes his mind and does not destroy the city of Nineveh . It is possible here too ,that Joey’s sufferings at the end of his life (and they were numerous and great ) that God granted him his Heavenly reward early, and also to fulfill the prophecy mentioned above, to cause disbelief, as a test of faith.

I think I know how the Apostles felt when Jesus died, after all their labors. Unfortunately I think I am going to have to wait more than 3 days for my “Easter Miracle”, but just like then, when you think all is lost, God provides that miracle.
I spoke to Conchita and she too had no fears, stating she was happy Joey was in heaven with our Blessed Mother & Padre Pio. I have a strong suspicion we will be amazed at the Miracle , (and our questions will be answered ). God bless. Glenn

        1. Exactly, Joecro. All are good examples of how prophecies which seemed to be false were simply fulfilled in a way which couldn’t be seen or understood until hindsight was available. This brings us back to my original reason for commenting as I did. It is very possible that prophecies yet to be fulfilled may be currently misinterpreted by some people… even the prophet himself or herself can misinterpret, for we are, one and all and after all, finite beings serving a God Who is Infinte. Therefore, the sequence, the timing, and any other details could be surprisingly fulfilled. Our complete surrender to God, come what may, must be our anchor and strength.

    1. This is a recent photo of Conchita in her New York home with two members of the cast of the movie on Garabandal made by unpaid amature actors who even paid for their own accomodation during the filming. Conchita has just turned 70.

      1. Thank you for the photo Joe – I love to see how the visionaries are doing – it is such an enduring battle for them, especially Conchita. If only the Garabandal apparitions could be officially approved, maybe it would somewhat ease the pain of waiting for what is to come. Then again, she and the other two, and now their families, would probably be hounded by the press all over again. God’s wisdom maybe?

  17. Prior to the visions the rosary was said every night for 500 years in Garabandal. A villager would walk through the street ringing a bell as a call to prayer. The daily rosary continues. Very often the seers would surprise visiting priests in their civvies by revealing their true identity. They knew they were priests. Our Lady told them so! What fun. Imagine the courage those young seers needed to deliver that message which warned that many many cardinals, bishops and priests were heading to perdition and taking many souls with them. No wonder the initial reaction of the church was to shut it down. Yet if not for this revelation perhaps the purification for abuse and cover up would never have got going. The date of the Miracle was revealed to St Pope Paul VI. The Warning was to prepare the world for conversion in The Miracle. The Church knew that there was no hiding place after that and had to get its skates on. And so Pope Francis was elected. The God of Surprises is about to give the great reveal. We are privileged to be among the first to know. Of course, being first is nothing new to Beckita. She is the champ at that!

  18. You questions Joe are some interesting lines to consider.
Jesus told the good thief that he would be with Him that day in paradise but we know the gates of heaven were not opened until 40 days later when He ascended. Could the promise of “today” have been a promise of the loss of the thief’s suffering into a “paradise” of being? I’ve heard it said Jesus was promising him on “this day” that one day he would be with Him in paradise. Some interpret that Jesus said that he was promising the theif that “this day”- the day of salvation, was the promise fulfilled for all those who repent to be with Him in paradise. There are all manner of interpretations. Most consider it a consolation from Jesus to the good thief and to all who pass through purgation (whether earthly or spiritually) on thier way to paradise. But the great and powerful words of God are never just a simplistic statement but echo throughout eternity great mysteries and truths above and beyond human and angelic understanding and are thus layered with deep mystical meaning and truths as are all the works of God. So each one of us, being influenced by and enlightened for a moment of these eternal Truths and by the unlimited layers gleaned by us then form a great mosaic of light, reflecting a little bit more each time of He who’s image is being reflected. And as God moves through history, this Image changes in it reflective angle and a new reality is revealed for that time, but always the same God.

  19. Thank you Frank for your thoughts on interpretation and your response is edifying with regard to the “great and powerful words of God.” But in Garabandal we are dealing with a mother whose interest in her children includes conversations about even the animals in their care and their daily chores and who took care to ensure her great warrior Michael appeared to the girls as a nine year old boy with rose coloured wings so they would not be terrified. As I am sure you know her greatness is not in her words but in herself – the Mother of God – meek and mild but powerful beyond words in her humility and in the care she has for all her children.

  20. Thank you Phillip for your carefully constructed comment on prophesy. I agree the words of Jesus are never simplistic but they are always simple which is another word for pure.

When gold is pure it stretches into wire thinner than a human hair, is used in many processes for many purposes and resists corrosion better than any other metal. Its beauty attracts the eye of the listener and holds the attention.

The gold we have been given in Garabandal is pure. My concern us that what we pass on is equally pure and that no doubt or confusion sullies its shine.

The “great and powerful words of God” do indeed reverberate throughout the universe and can both shake us to the core and soothe our deepest fears.

The great and powerful words of The Blessed Mother in Garabandal not only give a last chance warning to the the world but also speak to the seers about about the care of their animals and daily duties and chores. They speak of obedience which is the litmus test of love. And Mary’s fiat guides them in all their ways.

  21. Dear Joe,
    And Her power, invested in Her by God Who having established this City for His purpose, is never used without first contemplating the will of the Father;

“For God there is no past or future, since He holds all things present to his divine and infinite mind and knows all by one simple act. But reducing this to our (human) way of speaking and to our limited mode of understanding, we conceive that his Majesty remembered the decrees of the creation of a Mother befitting and worthy of the Incarnation of the Word, for the fulfillment of his decree is inevitable.
“Now the time has arrived” added his Majesty, “which was resolved upon by our Providence for bringing to light the Creature most pleasing and acceptable to our eyes. That Creature, in whom the human nature is freed from its first sin, who is to crush the head of the dragon, who was typified by that singular sign, the Woman that appeared in the heavens in our presence, and who is to clothe the eternal Word with human flesh
The law is first to be fulfilled by the divine Word by honoring Her as his chosen Mother, by exalting Her with a powerful arm, and lavishing upon Her the most admirable, most holy and most excellent of all graces and gifts. Among these shall be that most singular honor and blessing of not subjecting Her to our enemy, nor to his malice; and therefore She shall be free from the death of sin. She is to be a daughter of the first man; but in the order of grace She is to be singularly free and exempt from fault; and in the order of nature She is to be most perfect, and to be formed according to a special providence. We desire that the highest correspondence and approach possible between a creature and its God be established.
Let Us furnish Her with the richest gifts and let Us deposit in Her the great treasures of our grace. let Us therefore create this being in entire sanctity and perfection, so that the disorder of the first sin shall have no part in Her. Let Us create a soul according to our pleasure, a fruit of our attributes, a marvel of our infinite power, without touch or blemish of the sin of Adam. Let Us perfect a work which is the object of our Omnipotence and a pattern of the perfection intended for our children, and the finishing crown of creation. We will set Her apart from the ordinary law, by which the rest of the mortals are brought into existence, for in Her the seed of the serpent shall have no part. Thus our first decree shall not be frustrated, but it shall be fulfilled in a higher manner through this our chosen and only One. (Cant. 6, 8).
(God to Mary of Agreda; City of God).

  22. I started reading a book my mother passed on to me called “The Apostolate of Holy Motherhood.” It calls for a number of devotions, including three Rosaries daily and nine first Fridays in reparation for sins. I thought I would share a beautiful suggestion: that after each Rosary, pray three Hail Mary’s to mitigate the suffering of innocent children.
