New Web Address is Working!

I have just switched us over to our new primary domain, and it is working this time.

EVERYONE should now bookmark this new URL, asignofhope379.com, and use it from now on. Please bookmark this new site address right now!

We are switching to this new address to give ourselves some additional flexibility should that be needed in the future. As you know, we have already made one site switch, from the original site to A Sign of Hope website here. Although we have no current plans to switch the site again, this new URL will enable us to do that without “losing” anyone if we should need to make such a switch. Just use this new address from now on, and any site switch should be automatic for you.

For those of you who normally see a black ribbon across the top of your browser page, you should still see that black ribbon now. If you don’t see that black ribbon, please do one or more of the following:

1) Clear your browser history or cache. This command will be in one of your browser’s main menus.

2) Or: Quit your browser and reopen it, then go to the website.

3) Or: Restart your computer.

If none of those work, then scroll down until you see the Reply button at the bottom of this page and click it to open the comment window. Click the blue “W” WordPress icon underneath the comment window, and in the pop-up window that appears, enter your WordPress.com login credentials (your username first, then your account password). Then either enter a comment and hit the Post Comment button or simply reload the page. You should then see the black ribbon you normally see.

For those of you who do not have WordPress.com accounts and don’t normally see a black ribbon across the top of your window, simply comment as you usually do.

When decrying the problems inherent to an online world, I give thanks – for without online capability, the three primary collaborators in producing this website would not be able to do it efficiently. I am from Denver; Beckita is from Helena, Montana; and Steve BC is from Hyannisport, Massachusetts. It is amazing what capabilities the online age has given us. It is for each of us to choose whether we will use those capabilities for good or for evil.

    1. No doubt his roll at Thanksgiving was particularly inspiring this year, Doug. But my favorite SteveBC role is his wisdom shared on site. Oh yes! I appreciate his techie guru work. I do. Still, his wisdom rocks, such as the times when he reminds people, who are nearly beside themselves with the horrors all around us, that despite the devastation, we can already begin living in the New Springtime, or as Steve would say: the New World, via how we think and act.

      3. Actually, Beckita, I’ve called it a few different things. The New System of the World is one, when contrasting to the Old System of the World, which is passing away even as we speak. The one I like the most, though, is simply “The Peaceful Land.”

And you used the descriptor “New World” at that time. Me, I’m so looking forward to the New Beginning once Our Lady’s Triumph is complete.

      4. Thank you Beckita & Steve BC. Sometimes I just want to hide my head; it feels like there is no hope. I used to be a news junkie. Now I go days without reading anything except local news. It’s frightening. (Then I think of how much MORE worse it would be under Clinton—shudder!)

    BTW, at the dump today, some locals were standing around chatting. Our deputy sheriff (whom we REALLY appreciate) asked me why I hadn’t purchased a shotgun yet, since I now have a Jeep Wrangler.

      1. Haha, Beckita! I’m late to the party because we were gone to my dad’s or to my brother’s pretty much all weekend.

        Regarding a firearm for Sr. Bear, there are any number of ASOH’ers who can give her better advice than I ever could (CrewDog, Patrick, Sean, and BD immediately come to mind). Personally, I like shotguns just fine; but I am especially fond of my birthday Glock, which I got to fire for the first time at the range with my hubby on Friday. Fired about 230 rounds. Wanted to keep shooting, but we ran out of ammo and my hubby didn’t want to pay the exorbitant gun-shop prices for another box. Rats.

        Funny shotgun story: The first time I fired a shotgun, I was maybe 20 years old. It was a 12 gauge, and the kick knocked me flat on my back so that I was staring at the sky and the treetops while my buddies laughed at me. Their dad was just razzing me about it when I talked to him a couple of weeks ago. (In my defense, we WERE standing on a gravelly riverbank, and the traction was awful.)

        It actually causes people to scatter, quite quickly I might add. I was in the midst of a possible near riot, saw and observed a cop rack his shotgun and viewed everyone: turn around and run ass n elbows away. A few people jumped over a four foot metal fence.

        Now… it only works if you intend on using it (discharge). Rack it like you intend on breaking it.

              1. This shotgun discussion reminds me of Creepy Joe Biden’s (fake) claim of what he told his wife to do in the event of a prowler. He said he told her to get the double barrel shotgun (yes, like the guy on the old Mountain Dew bottles has) and go out on the balcony and fire off a couple blasts into the air. Which, by the way, is illegal in all 50 states if I’m not mistaken but I digress. So after having taken up a highly visible position with a limited avenue of egress, she is supposed to empty her weapon into the air thus surrendering all tactical advantage to the bad guy.

                Yeah…great advise, Creepy Uncle Joe.

I must admit that the minute I started reading the instructions and saw the term ‘bookmark’, the only thing that came to mind was my POMT prayer card that I use to bookmark my Magnificat. 😳 But I just took a deep breath and started punching ‘buttons’.   9. I am getting absolutely nowhere trying to log in. I don’t remember using a password originally when I started commenting before Charlie changed to A Sign of Hope. I tried getting in on October 28 and it has been downhill ever since. I cannot get past putting my email address in. It tells me my email address isn’t me??

    I do not comment often and always run into difficulties.

  10. Well, thanks for nothing, Charlie. I used to be able to go to your old website at work, but now my company won’t let me get to the new one. (They use an outside company to classify websites and apparently the new one is “uncategorized”, whatever that means.) Oh well, I will just have to wait until I get home to see the latest.       Don’t give up at work. Let your IT person know and maybe they can unblock it. They are probably trying to block nefarious sites like open and the like. I don’t think Charlie’s site is classified as nefarious, but if the left had their way, it would probably be labeled as such and banned.

  13. For some reason, when I attempt to reply through my email it no longer works. It says I have to log in. I have done that a couple of times. It worked for a while after the switch was made but now it isn’t. I have to log into my WordPress account in order to reply or comment. Thank you for your help.
