Reminder Announcement

(Sharing this reminder via Fr. Richard Heilman from his site: Roman Catholic Man. ~Beckita)

“The Lord will give strength to his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace” (Psalm  29:11)

“We maintain the peace through our strength; weakness only invites aggression.”
President Ronald Reagan

ANNOUNCEMENT: “Peace Through Strength Challenge”  July 16-August 15

Beginning Monday, July 16 (Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel) and leading up August 15 (Feast of Our Lady of the Assumption) …

Fr. Richard Heilman of “Roman Catholic Man”
Sam Guzman of “Catholic Gentleman”
Doug Barry of “Battle Ready”
Major Jeff Heller

… will be joining forces to lead what we believe is the most important challenge of our times.

There is a lot at stake in our world. Powerful, diabolical forces are stopping at nothing to throw everything they have at whatever is good, holy and Godly in our society. They are doing everything possible to tear down the moral fabric of our society, seeking the ruin of our souls and the souls of our loved ones. We. Need. To. Respond! We need to be well-trained and well-formed so that we can engage this battle.

In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI said, “The real problem at this moment of our history is that God is disappearing from the human horizon and, with the dimming of the light which comes from God, humanity is losing its bearings, with increasingly evident destructive effects.” We all see this; we know this is going on. What is needed is warrior minded individuals – God loving, God fearing, Rosary praying, Sacrament receiving Catholics who have the courage to step in the fight; to engage the battle; to say “I’m Going In!”

Bishop Thomas Olmsted made an impassioned appeal to men in his Apostolic Exhortation, “Into the Breach.” His Excellency wrote …

“As Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati said, ‘To live without faith, without a patrimony to defend, without a steady struggle for truth – that is not living, but existing.’ Are you and I merely existing? Or are we living our Christian faith as men fully alive? Recall the famous words of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI: ‘You were not made for comfort; you were made for greatness.’ Any greatness that we might merit as Catholics depends upon this fight for holiness. It is the same fight Jesus Christ fought in the desert and the same fight our Christian forefathers fought in order to hand down the faith. Woe to us if we do not pick up the weapons of the Spirit – offered to us freely – and accept them bravely and gratefully! Courage, confidence, and humble reliance on God’s infinite resources are called for here as we engage. Forward! Into the breach!“

That’s what the “Peace Through Strength Challenge” is all about … the strength that we receive in that Divine Connection with God – body, mind and soul – brings about peace in knowing we are all in for God.

“I’m Going In” is the battle cry of every warrior who accepts the challenge of putting their very life on the line in battle. But, when it comes to spiritual warfare, I must know that “I’m going in” with the strength of supernatural power!

Are you Going In?

As we approach the 54 Day Rosary Novena for Our Nation on August 15, leading to Rosary Coast to Coast on October 7, we want to train to be the strongest Special Forces Prayer Warriors we can possibly be.

From July 16 to August 15, on the nine (novena) Mondays and Thursdays leading up to the 54 Day Rosary Novena for Our Nation, concluding with Rosary Coast to Coast, Sam, Doug, Major Jeff and I will lead the “Peace Through Strength Challenge,” as we break down all of the ways God has revealed for us to become well-trained, well-formed, well-connected and supernaturally “strong.”

Please sign-up for the “Peace Through Strength Challenge” HERE. (This will also sign you up for the 54 Day Rosary Novena for Our Nation).

For Facebook users, join the Special Forces Training group.

“And one day, through the Rosary and Scapular, Our Lady will save the world.” -St. Dominic

  1. THanks for this – I’m all in. He suggests that we have a small group for support. I’m wondering if we could start a closed TNRS facebook page (or something else) so we can chat amongst ourselves without it being open to the whole world.

    1. That sounds like an interesting idea, Meg. Are there others who would wish to have this? Let’s give this a little more time to be considered.

      1. I thought there would be daily reminders from the strength challenge. I got day one but nothing today. Anyone else experience this?

        1. Good guess, Mick! HTTP, here’s an excerpt from the original announcement in which Father lays out the planned Monday and Thursday emails with the various lead people.

“From July 16 to August 15, on the nine (novena) Mondays and Thursdays leading up to the 54 Day Rosary Novena for Our Nation, concluding with Rosary Coast to Coast, Sam, Doug, Major Jeff and I will lead the “Peace Through Strength Challenge,” as we break down all of the ways God has revealed for us to become well-trained, well-formed, well-connected and supernaturally “strong.”

Meg, here’s a closed Facebook group that has already been established for some time as Fr. Heilman is constantly dreaming up a new prayer initiative: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1525909717679090/

          1. Good Morning, Beckita. On the sign up page it said daily emails. I went back yesterday and checked. I know that sometimes things get a little messed up in cyberspace. One time it took 5 days for a text message to show up on my phone. I don’t have a lot of faith in cyber world. I thought this might be the case with this.

            1. Yes, there was that line about daily emails on the actual sign up page, HTTP. I think it was a simple oversight to keep that statement for the Strength through Peace Challenge because when you read the text of the announcement, you can see that the excerpt which I posted here speaks to the Mondays and Thursdays sharing from the 4 leaders. That actual sign up page has been used for previous initiatives from the Roman Catholic Man site. In the conversation at the FB page no one is expressing concern about missing daily emails. Finally observation: in previous 54 day novenas, there have been daily emails and Fr. Heilman did note that signing up for Peace Through Challenge also signed us up for the 54 Day Rosary Novena. All is well.

  2. Someone commented on here about forming a group or at least posting under this conversation as recommended for this challenge. Has anything come of it?

I just finished watching the physical video for today. What was that type of 4 minute exercise called he demonstrated? 4 minutes to get in shape. Now, I like that idea but, my word, it looks strenuous.

Reading article about fear really addresses our times. The minute I take my eyes off the Lord-I sink.

    1. Meg brought up the idea, HTTP. I then mentioned that Fr. Heilman has a FB page dedicated to all of his prayer initiatives which have always included “getting physically fit” and “eating healthy” components. That page can be accessed here. In the group, people ask, discuss and share about all the facets of the current challenge/prayer effort. This may be the best avenue for group support, unless one would like to connect locally or via email with a personal friend(s) in a buddy or small group arrangement. This site is not set up to branch off into small group discussions.

In the Tabata method, as when engaging in any exercise – and Doug Barry stressed this in his presentation – each person must take into account his/her own fitness level and/or health issues when beginning something new. Doug happens to be very fit and that’s why we see him taking on the strenuousness which you note. One would start with a wee amount of burn and self-challenge for a gradual increase, day by day, of intensity.

      1. Thank you Beckita. I don’t do FB.
There are quite a few Tabata music videos on Youtube. I used one of those. It was fun and challenging. The ones that were too strenuous I just substituted them for something else.
So thankful for all the support.
